Blog Tour - Sweet Fall (Sweet Home #3) by Tillie Cole ~ Ava's Review, Excerpt and #Kindle Fire HDX #Giveaway!
“All of this started with the rejection of a boy I liked… I want it to end with the acceptance of the boy I love.”
*I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.*
I adored books one and two of this series, Sweet Home and Sweet Rome. Lexi and Austin made an appearance and their relationship was hinted at but never in a million years could I have guessed the heartache they hid. Sweet Fall was their story of pain, difficult choices, loss and finding the strength to be together.
“I placed my hand on his back… I had to touch him. It was wrong of me, it was uninvited… but I just had to. Something within me pushed me to be supportive. Austin was strong, he belonged to a dangerous gang, he had a dark past, but beneath his armour of tattoos, I sensed he also had a pure soul, and it was in distress.”
Lexi hides behind her goth make up and black hair, it’s her safety net and shield from the world. What she is hiding from her friends is scary and heart breaking. This element of the storyline was handled so well. I was crying reading the author’s note at the beginning before the story even began. It was really refreshing to read about something raw and real, Lexi was not your average heroine, yet she’s about one of the strongest I have read. Lexi leaned on no one and struggled alone, that was until she got caught up in trouble with Austin Carrillo, a star football player, and together with his strength Lexi begin to really live again.
“Austin was bringing colour into my gray scale life.”
“Austin, make love to me. Just…be gentle… There’s a chance I might break…”
Austin may appear to have it all; great friends, full football scholarship and a guaranteed NFL career but what he hides from the world is the heartache going on at home. Austin is torn between following his dreams or going back home and returning to a life he doesn’t want for him or his brothers. Add his mum into the mix and my heart was well and truly broken for him. Again, Austin’s storyline was original and it added grit to the story. My heart was in my mouth most of the time and I just wanted to protect him and his family. It made for some great reading.
“My broken boy from the trailer park was slowly fixing himself together again… taking my heart and soul along for the ride.”
I am a huge fan of Tillie’s writing, it never fails to pull on my heartstrings and bind me to the characters. There are so many layers to this story; Lexi struggling with the voices in her head, Austin struggling to take care of his family, and then the growing relationship between Lexi and Austin. The storyline was never once overwhelmed with all these elements, they knitted together to make a heart wrenching story.
“Although our respective issues were poles apart in nature, we were kindred spirits in the fight to not let these issues destroy us as people.”
“Lexi’s eyes filled with water and another understanding tear tumbled down her cheek. Leaning forward, I kissed the salty drop away.
And that’s how we fell.
Fell into sleep.
Fell into trust…
Fell for each other.”
My two favourite parts of the book was when Austin would speak Italian, (just when I thought he couldn’t get any sexier) although there were a few phrases that weren’t translated for the reader so I did worry I was missing out on some sweet phrases but also I loved the questions Lexi and Austin repeatedly asked each other. It was only when they fully trusted each other did they answer truthfully and I fell for them even more.
“Why the war paint, Pix?”
“Because I can’t stand the girl underneath,” she whispered
“Why the tattoos?” Lexi asked
“Because I can’t bear seeing the scars of my past.”
Sweet Fall is a great addition to the series, Rome and Molly will always be my first loves but Lexi and Austin are worthy contenders. For fans of the series, you must read this instalment and I really can’t wait for Ally’s story.
Crickets chirped outside, and every fifteen minutes, the sound of the campus cops’ radios filled the house. They were doing their rounds—just like good little bitches of the dean—the light from their flashlights illuminating the room, except here behind the couch, where we had our own little pocket of protection.
Hours and hours passed in silence, and I lay on my back just staring once more at the stars through the skylight, the sky brightening with the rising dawn, the dark room now lightened by a hazy orange glow.
I heard Lexi sigh beside me, and I asked, “What do think of when you look up at the stars?”
I caught Lexi’s head tilt to the side and her eyes narrowed in scrutiny.
Minutes passed as she stared silently at the night sky. “Sometimes I wonder what they must make of our world,” she whispered quietly. I didn’t think she’d respond. “Do we fascinate them or disgust them? Do they look down on us the same way we look up at them and wonder what we’re thinking too? Do they see all our problems? Watch our sorrowful excuses for lives with a growing sense of pity? Or do they envy us for just having a life, good or bad?”
Her response surprised me. Sorrowful excuses for lives?
“Ever look at them and feel inferior, feel small?” I added, really wanting to hear her answer.
Lexi fidgeted beside me, lifting her hands to create a frame with her fingers, her left eye closed as she studied Orion’s Belt like she was looking through a telescope. But her hands abruptly lowered and laid flat to her stomach, a guttering expression on her face. “I don’t need to look up at the stars to feel inferior, Austin. All I have to do is open my eyes and look at myself in the mirror.”
My attention snapped to her and a strange feeling rolled my stomach—sympathy?
Lexi yawned beside me and her eyelids began to droop, but she fought to stay awake, never taking her eyes off the stars. I couldn’t stop watching her. Something about her intrigued me. Or maybe it was the fact that she knew about me, about who I was, that drew me to her. I didn’t have to pretend just for right here, right now.
“Go to sleep,” I said after her third consecutive yawn, and she focused on me once more. She was making me fuckin’ tired, and I needed to stay alert.
Lexi simply shook her head and wrapped her arms around her chest, fighting off another yawn.
Damn stubborn chick.
“Lexi, go to fuckin’ sleep. We’re gonna be here all night anyway,” I ordered, and I watched her tired eyes widen.
“Are you gonna sleep?” she asked, and I frowned. Why the fuck did that matter?
“Probably, at some point,” I replied and shrugged my shoulders.
“Okay, then. But…” Her lips pursed in tension. “But please don’t touch me. I… can’t be touched… I’ll stay here hidden, just… don’t touch me.”
“I won’t,” I said vehemently through gritted teeth. Did she think I was gonna grope her in her sleep or some shit? What the hell did she think of me?
Lexi’s eyes closed and, within seconds, she was out, all curled up in the fetal position on the hardwood floor. She looked like a fallen, broken pixie.
I don’t know why I said it, but I leaned down and whispered, “This isn’t who I am, Lexi. I’m not the cold, unfeeling dick you think I am. I just wanted you to know that about me.”
Tillie Cole is a Northern girl through and through. She originates from a place called Teesside on that little but awesomely sunny (okay I exaggerate) Isle called Great Britain. She was brought up surrounded by her English rose mother -- a farmer's daughter, her crazy Scottish father, a savagely sarcastic sister and a multitude of rescue animals and horses.

Title: Pieces of Autumn
Author: Mara Black
Genre: Dark Romance 18 +
Publish Date: July 31, 2014
I wish I could tell you that I was stolen.
Kidnapped off the street in some third-world country, sold against my will, while a desperate family back home waited and prayed and talked about me on the news.
I wish I could tell you that, because then you might understand.
What really happened? I walked to my fate with my eyes wide open. But before you say I deserved whatever happened to me, you should know. I was desperate. I was alone. I was afraid for my life. You would have done the same thing.
I thought things couldn’t possibly get any worse.
But then, I woke up in darkness, unable to move. There was only one thing I was sure of: I wasn’t alone anymore.
And then I heard HIS voice...
I had never heard his voice like that. Not once. My blood chilled in my veins. If I thought I’d ever been afraid of Tate before, it was nothing. Absolutely nothing compared to this.
I’d wanted to unnerve him, but instead, I seemed to have unhinged him. Unleashed something I didn’t understand, and didn’t want to.
“I’m sorry,” I whispered.
“Too late,” he replied, his chest rising and falling rapidly with each breath. His tone was pure venom, pure sin, pure fucking evil. “Too late for apologies.”
In that moment, I had three choices.
I could fight him.
I could run.
Or, I could tie myself to the mast and meet him, measure for measure.
I chose the storm. With the hurricane himself standing there, his pulse pounding so loud I could almost hear it, I chose to stand tall.
What was happening? What was he about to do? I had no way of knowing, no way of guessing what he’d do. How he’d ruin me.
But I knew I could survive.
His hand lashed out and grabbed mine, lifting it to his face. Eyes half-lidded, he brought my fingers to his lips, my thumb pressing past them and up against his teeth. Finding resistance, for a moment, until he parted them and suckled it into the soft, wet heat of his mouth.
Title: Within These Walls
Author: J.L. Beg
Release Date: August 18, 2014
Within these walls, he became my solace, my sanctuary and my strength.
I am not strong. I am just a survivor of circumstance.
Isn’t that what we all do? Survive?
Each of us has our own set of circumstances to muddle through. Mine are just more…complicated.
Born with a severe heart defect, I’ve seen the inside of a hospital room more than my own bedroom.
I was drowning, a prisoner to the illness that owned me, until he appeared. He thinks he’s blocked out the world with his tattoos and hard exterior, but I see the real Jude, the one he so desperately wants to forget.
But is he the answer to my prayers or will he break my already damaged heart forever?
My name is Lailah Buchanan, and this is our story of hope, redemption and sacrificing it all for the one you love.
“Why have a beating heart if I don’t know why it beats in the first place.”
Recently, I’ve been looking for a book that consumes me. That makes me feel. A book that would bring out all the stops. A book that would bring tears to my eyes as I read it for it’s deep meaning. Within These Walls is THAT book.
“Being inside these hospital walls, I’d seen it all, yet felt nothing anymore. I’d become immune to it all.”
Lailah Buchanan was born with a severe heart defect. She has spent more time within the walls of a hospital than her own home. At the age of 22, she wishes she can do daily things that most people take for granted. Something as simple as walking along the beach with friends, or even going out to dinner. Jude Cavanaugh is beyond broken. His past left him shattered. He is a ghost of the man he once was. Until Lailah. She is the sunshine to lead him out of the darkness. Jude didn’t think he would ever be capable to feel for another human being. Lailah makes him feel like living again. Her outlook on life is contagious. And he simply cannot get enough. But can he truly say goodbye to his past?
“Every angel has wings, Lailah.”
Jude is very hesitant in falling for Lailah. But being around her, she evokes feelings in him that have not surfaced in him in years.. How they meet is very unique and this makes their story special. Every moment with Lailah, Jude’s soul brightens. You feel it. And Lailah? Her damaged heart doesn’t hurt as much. But with Jude’s past he finds it so hard to move on. He wants to love again. But his heart belongs to someone else. Someone that can no longer feel his love. Lailah finds her way into Jude’s heart without trying. It just happens. Her soul latched on to Jude’s and does not want to let go.
“For one day, I’d felt real and whole, and finally, someone had looked at all of me instead of just the broken parts.”
Jude and Lailah’s story left me breathless and speechless at times. How can two people like themselves fall in love? But they do. And their story is one that I will never forget. Their story shatters anything you think you knew about love and all that it is capable of. How ironic is it that a girl with the most damaged heart could love a man as deeply as she loves Jude. And how can a man who’s entire world was taken from him every learn to open up his heart again. Love mends. It knows no boundaries. Their love proves that.
“I knew the depth of his love even without the declaration.”
What happens when love costs you? When you love someone so much that you are able to give them up just so you can save them? Jude and Lailah make the ultimate sacrifice. Their love. But again, it’s not what you think. Their love is deep, all consuming. Their love is beautiful. When life takes a turn, decisions are made, hearts are broken. But their love for each other remains constant.
“...she had ingrained herself to me, body and soul.”
I loved every moment of this beautiful story. I laughed, I cried, I lived this book. I finished Within These Walls in an entire day. And 24 hours I am still left thinking about it. Jude and Lailah are an unforgettable couple. They have forever left an imprint on my heart. This is so much more than broken boy meets sick girl. So. Much. More.
He placed the pudding on the tray next to us and glanced down at our hands. My frail small fingers were lying gently over his callous large ones. Slowly, as if giving the gesture purpose, he turned his hand over so that our palms were touching. Stretching out his fingers, he caressed the pads of my fingers with his own until he intertwined our fingers and held my hand.
I didn’t think I’d taken a breath since his hand had started moving under mine. His eyes finally met mine, and I saw something I’d never expected to see in those faded green irises shining back at me.

A modern day Dark Erotic Romance
My life was never mine.
My destiny was already written.
My story began the night he came for me.
If you know me, you know I LOVE Pepper Winters ( I call her Pep in my head sometimes, but shhh, don't tell her that!). So of course I looked like the energizer bunny when I found out my dear Pepper was writing a serial!
“I truly was Cinderella, only my prince threw away the glass slipper and stole me away before midnight struck. My prince was evil. My prince was the villain.”
In this series we have Nila and Jethro. Nila is a twenty-four year old fashion designer. With no friends and a mother who left her family behind, she grew to have a very close relationship with her father and brother. She's led a sheltered life up to this point and has been over-protected by the only two men in her life. So imagine her surprise when her father introduces her to Jethro. What she doesn't know is that Jethro is there to collect a debt (or shall we say, collect her).
“This wasn’t making love. This wasn’t even fucking. This was war. And hell it felt good.”
This book threw me off and was definitely not what I was expecting. I had a bit of a hard time with this book because I truly wanted to love it. The main problem I had was with the characters. Jethro is someone that at this point has no redeeming qualities and I want to see so much more from him. I am also not in love with Nila, but I have faith that I as the story progresses Pepper will make me fall for these characters and see their strengths.
“I not only stole your past. I’ve already stolen your future.”
The plot itself confused me at first. Mostly the history of the debt itself. As bits by bits were revealed, some dots were connecting, but others not so much. This being a serial I understand that all the questions at this point will be answered in the next installments, so I am also looking forward to that.
Pepper is great at what she does. I was hooked and wanted to see what was going to happen next! She definitely pushes the envelope with this book. I am sure there are more dark and twisted things to come and I cannot wait! This installment did have a cliffhanger that excited me. I will be waiting (im)patiently for the second one!!!
“I not only stole your past. I’ve already stolen your future.”
First off, I need to start by proclaiming my love for Pepper Winters. I have adored all her books thus far and when Jethro and Nila were introduced, I couldn’t get my greedy little hands on them fast enough.
Nila has been shielded from the world, with her dad and brother as her only company, she has carved a successful fashion design career for herself. Little does she know, her future was mapped out for her many years ago and her chance encounter with the mysterious Jethro is no coincidence, he’s come to collect payment for an old family debt and the price is Nila.
“My life was never mine. My destiny was already written. My story began the night he came for me.”
Jethro is carrying on his family legacy. Just for being the first-born daughter of a Weaver, Nila’s life is no longer her own and she soon discovers Jethro is not the prince who will sweep her off her feet, he is in fact, her worst nightmare. It is time for Jethro to step up and become the man his ancestors expected him to be.
“People who knew me said I was a gentleman. They called me distinguished, accomplished, and shrewd. I was all of those things, but none of them.”
“One mistake six hundred years ago put a curse on her entire family. One mistake sold her life to me in a mountain of unpayable debt. I inherited her. I preyed on her.”
“I owned her life and had the piece of paper to prove it. Nila Weaver. Mine. And my task … … … devour her.”
I have conspiracy theories coming out of my eyeballs. I have many questions and messed up scenarios in my head. I need to know who the infamous Kite007 is; I need to know if Kestrel is going to be a good guy and most of all I need to know if Daniel is going to meet a grizzly end (wishful thinking on my part). It is the need for these answers that fuel me forward to continue with the series. I expect huge surprises along the way.
The storyline is dark and at times may be uncomfortable for some to read. But come on, it’s Pepper Winters, her name alone is enough of a warning. I didn’t mind this element of the story, I was expecting it and I wanted Pepper to push my reading boundaries, to test what I was comfortable with reading. What I struggled with was the believability of the plot. As I began to read, I was happy enough to go along with what I was reading, but as the story progressed, my questions increased until I could no longer suspend my disbelief. I struggled with many factors; the origin of the debt itself, the history of the debt and the terms. I am fully aware this is book one of many in this series but for me, the foundation wasn’t strong enough to fully let go and enjoy the story.
My love for Pepper’s writing is not under question, the excessive amount of highlights in my kindle will testify to that. Pepper has a way with words she is darkly poetic. Even though I wasn’t completely sold on the storyline, I can’t fault the way in which Pepper narrated the tale.
Whilst writing this review, I had to remind myself to focus on the book I just read, it’s easy for me to think of the series as a whole and what is to come. I trust Pepper will take us on an unbelievable journey; I trust that I will fall completely in love with Jethro and I trust that Nila’s truth strength will shine through. With that being said, in this first instalment these elements are merely hinted at, I needed more from Jethro, he is very much the anti hero at the moment but I do look forward to see how his character develops.
As with any Pepper book, it isn’t for the faint of heart. I think Debt Inheritance is most likely the hardest to read as it pushes moral boundaries and unlike Pepper’s previous male MCs, Jethro’s humanity is yet to shine through. BUT I know we are only at the tip of the iceberg and I do look forward to the second instalment as this story can go in any direction and I highly anticipate it, especially after that doozy of a cliffhanger!
“Tonight I would be selfish and wicked and cruel. Tonight. . . I would be Jethro’s.”
“The longer we stood, the further we blurred the lines between debtor and debtee. Weaver and Hawk. In that tiny moment, we were each other’s answer to freedom. A mind-blistering coupling that would surely ruin me for life. But at least I would’ve lived.”
“This wasn’t making love. This wasn’t even fucking. This was war. And hell it felt good.”
I flexed my muscles, welcoming back the soothing chillness of control. I hadn’t liked stepping outside my confines of civility. Things got messy when silence was disrupted. Things got rushed when tempers rose and curses flowed.
And I didn’t want to rush her undoing. I wanted to savour it. Devour it.
She loves to travel and has an amazing, fabulous hubby who puts up with her love affair with her book boyfriends.

Blog Tour - Worth Forgiving (MMA Fighter #3) by Vi Keeland ~ Double Review and #Kindle Fire #Giveaway
Title: Worth Forgiving
Author: Vi Keeland
Series: MMA Fighter #3
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: 21st August 2014
Cover designed: Romcon.com

They say men like a lady in the living room and a whore in the bedroom. I never knew the sentiment was reciprocal. Until I met Jax Knight. A gentleman in public, a commanding, dirty talking rogue in the bedroom.
Daughter of legendary fighter “The Saint,” Lily St. Claire knows firsthand how fighters can be. As the owner of a chain of MMA gyms, she’s no stranger to aggressive, dominating, and possessive men. That’s why she’s always kept her distance. But the day Jax Knight walks through her door she’s captivated by his charm. Stunningly handsome, well mannered, Ivy League educated, and confident, he shatters all the preconceived notions she’d come to think were true about men who trained to fight.
But falling for someone so soon after her breakup wasn’t something she’d planned on. And definitely not something her ex plans to allow.
‘No man should be so stunning. He really requires a warning before he enters a room’
Lily St Claire knows a thing or two about fighters, and that’s why she doesn’t get too close to them. However, when meet Jax, she knows he is different, there is something about this man, he does something to her.
‘He different, and it’s not just he’s devoid of tattoos on his arm, and scars on his face. Something in the way he speaks and carries himself sets him apart from the normal fighters I see.’
Lily has just come out of a messed up relationship, and so she only want to be friends with Jax, and trys to keep it that way even when she realives that she wants to be a lot more than just friends. For the most part, I liked Lily, but I will say she did annoy me at one point, as I felt she was too quick to believe what she was told from a particular person and because of her reaction to what they had told her.
“There’s only two choices with a man. Forgive him or forget him. If you can’t do the latter, then you need to forgive him because he’s already stolen your heart.”
The storyline is told from Jax and Lily POV, and last the rest of the series was sexy, funny, and passionate with a little angst and drama. Jax and Lily are great together. From the first time he saw her he wanted her want more than just a friendship.
I get the urge to pull her plumb bottom lip from beneath me her teeth, and sooth it with my tongue. Fuck, this being friends thing is not going to be easy’
I loved the way Jax was with Lily the way he gets to her to see that they could be good together, that they should be more than just friends, as he knows she wants him too but things are holding her back.
‘I want to catch you when you fall Angel’
I liked their banter, their chemistry was hot as was their sexual tension, although at one point I did think just get it on already, and when they did the sexy fun times that they shared were hot!! I loved it!
It feels heavenly. More than just him inside of me, I feel filled by him, possessed completely and totally connected. Like we’ve just shut ourselves off form the world and only the two of us exist. Together, as one.
Great secondary characters, well there was one who I wanted to punch as he was a psycho, but what added to my excitement about reading this book was that I knew that we would get some more Vince and Nico. I can't tell how happy I was to see my two other favorite fighters. All three of these men together in the same room what more could a girl want!!!
There is going to be no surprise when I tell you that I just loved Worth Forgiving, it was a great conclusion to the series. I really loved this book, or more to the point I loved Jax, and now that the series has come to an end it hard to say who has been or is my favorite, before reading this one I would say Nico, but after meeting Jax he may have overtaken Nico. I loved that Jax was an alpha, a dirty talker Oh my!! the things that come out of his mouth ( Love him) but also charming, and a gentleman. You get the best of both worlds with Jax. I want a Jax and I want one now!!! Lily was one very lucky lady.
Tell me what you thought I meant."
"You know what I thought you meant."
"Yes. But I want to hear you say it."
"Because I want to hear you talk dirty to me."
I’m a huge fan of Vi Keeland, I love her writing style, and the way she has made me smile, and swoon over the hot sexy alpha fighters that she has created. I loved the epilogue for this one, I remember in my review for Worth The Chance, I had said that I liked the epilogue, but I was let wanting more. Well, Vi must have listened because she gave me more, as this was just how I like them years into the future instead of just months. I just love how it all ended for my 3 hot sexy alpha fighters.
If like me, you have a thing for fighters then this book, and the rest of the series is for you. So I recommended that you one-click today and fall in love with some hot sexy alpha fighters.
Vi Keeland thanks for bringing Nico, Vinny and Jax into my life. <3
“There’s only two choices with a man. Forgive him or forget him. If you can’t do the latter, then you need to forgive him because he’s already stolen your heart."
I have really enjoyed the MMA Fighter series by Vi Keeland so far. Jax was introduced at the end of book two and I was eager to read his story.
Jax wanted to break free from his father’s political agenda. After a family scandal broke, Jax lost all respect for his father and he discovered a half brother he knew nothing about. Jax wants to make a name for himself and he pounces on a good investment, the bonus being a sexy new partner in the form of Lily St. Claire.
Lily is still feeling the loss of her father, she wants to do him proud and continue to operate his chain of boxing gyms. With a menacing ex-boyfriend and a sexy new investment broker, Jax, Lily has her work cut out for her. She has to decide who she can trust to take care of her father’s legacy and her heart.
Out of the three books, Jax is by far my favourite book boyfriend. I loved his mix of suave, gentleman and hot MMA fighter. It was the perfect blend. He treated Lily like a lady from day one and he was commanding and sexy in the bedroom, what more could she ask for!
I also liked Lily’s character; she started out a determined, focused woman. She was in a bad way following her father’s death and she placed her trust in Caden, her ex-boyfriend when she was vulnerable. Caden wouldn’t take no for an answer and continued to harass her. I liked Lily’s strength. She was independent but at the same time, she allowed Jax to take care of her. When the conflict happened near the end of the book, I couldn’t help but feel disappointed in Lily, the strong girl I had grown to love was gone and she was quick to display her naïveté and side with the man who was supposed to be her enemy. I get this happens in a lot of books but for me it lacked believability and of course I was totally biased as I loved Jax and was on his side!
Vi Keeland’s writing is very enjoyable to read. I always know I can be happily entertained for a few hours. Even though I felt Worth Forgiving didn’t have such a compelling storyline as the previous two books, it was still a good addition to the series. My only wish would have been more Nico and Vinny, I was turning every page with great anticipation for their appearance, when they did appear towards the end it was great to read about them again. I’m just greedy and wanted more.
I’m sad to see the end of this series. I don’t think you can beat reading about hot, sexy MMA fighters. If you haven’t met Nico, Vinny or Jax then I suggest you rectify that now.
“It feels heavenly. More than just him inside of me, I feel filled by him, possessed completely and totally connected. Like we’ve just shut ourselves off from the world and only the two of us exist. Together, as one.”
“This confident man, full of arrogance and sexy bravado, looks so vulnerable. So I open up my heart, taking a risk I know will crush me if it doesn’t work out, but it’s a risk I have no choice but to take.”
Series Reading Order . . .
Elle has a good life. A job she loves, a great apartment, and the guy she’s been dating for more than two years is a catch and a half. But it’s boring…and she strives to keep it that way. Too many emotions are dangerous. Her own past is living proof of what can happen when you lose control.
Then Nico walks into Elle’s office and everything changes…for both of them. But what can the tattooed, hard-bodied MMA fighter and the beautiful and always steady attorney have in common? A lot more than they bargained for.

Liv Michaels is almost there. She’s smart, determined and weeks away from landing the job she’s dreamed about for years. Time healed old wounds, even her broken heart from the devastation of being crushed by her first love.
Meet Vince Stone
Women love a fighter, especially a good one. Lucky for me, I’m damn good. But there’s one woman that isn’t interested. Not again, anyway.
Vince ‘The Invincible’ Stone is every woman’s fantasy…strong, sexy, confident and completely in control. Growing up surrounded by chaos, he’s learned never to get too attached. Title: Forever Kinda Love
Author: Clara Stone
Age Group: Mature YA
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Life’s. Little. Surprises.
The last thing seven-year-old Carrigan "Ace" Casper foresaw was an eight-year-old Heath Lovelly walking into her life the day her mother died. From that moment on, Heath sticks by her side, slowly becoming her strength, her confidant, and her entire world. What she doesn’t know is, she's his saving grace, too.
Ten years later, Ace is handed another crippling challenge that threatens everything in her almost perfect life. Only, this time, she doesn't turn to Heath, hiding the truth instead. But Heath knows Ace too well and won't back down easily. He's ready to do whatever it takes and will stay by her side until she accepts that their love is the kinda love worth fighting for.
Will he be her forever triumph or her unexpected downfall?
And an unexpected journey to falling in love.
“Say the word, and I’ll follow you to the ends of the earth. No questions asked.”
Carrigan Casper (Ace) and Heath Lovelly met at a very dark time in their lives. For them, love became equivalent to loss. Soon enough they become each other’s saving grace. They have each other. Always. Ten years later, something shifts. They feel it. I felt it. Their love for each other goes beyond friendship. It’s so much deeper than that. But their friendship is always what has held them together. They’ve always just been Ace and Heath. No complications. Until now.
“She’s someone that I trust with every secret, every vulnerability, every ounce of my life. Without exceptions. Without restrictions.”
Ace and Heath have a strong connection. They just fit. These characters are genuine, passionate, and reminded me of my love for YA. Their beautiful story captured my heart from the beginning to the end. Heath is so much more than the typical player in high school. He has heart. He loves with his entire being. He speaks with conviction. Especially when it comes to Ace. His love for her knows no boundaries. But he’s scared. Love brings pain. He cannot bear to lose Ace’s friendship. . He doesn’t think he can live through another loss. What if she doesn't love him back? But Ace? She’s more than worth it. She’s beyond your typical shy good girl. She has spunk! She’s fun. She’s a fighter.
“She’s the calm to my temper, the light to my darkness, the balm to my emptiness.”
I found that while this is considered mature YA, the voices of the characters were refreshingly mature. Yes, some high school drama was dealt with, but this story goes beyond that. It’s about life and love. That life will throw things at you. But you don't give up. On love. On life. Ever. This story challenges any thoughts you have about young love. How can two people so young truly love each other? Ace and Heath prove that young love is no joke. They love hard. Deeply. Their love is beautiful, breathtaking. Every word of declaration of love is felt. In their actions. In everything.
"I’ll always love her. Even when the sun sets and the world ends, my love for her will never fade away, because she’s my forever.”
The dual POV was seamless and effortless. The flow of the story kept me glued to my kindle for hours until I finished the entire story. When a life chaining event comes back in to the lives of Heath and Ace they are both taken aback. But not for long. Heath doesn’t run away. He loves Ace harder than ever before. His love for her stronger. And Ace realizes that life without Heath wouldn’t be worth living. This beautiful love story is one that will stay with me for sometime. Telling you their love story cannot be explained in words. It is to be felt. Love conquers all. Love never fails. Not ever.

Blog Tour: Always Conall (Bitterroot #2) by Sibylla Matilde~ Ava's Review, Excerpt, Giveaway & Cover Model Spotlight
*****Mature Content, Sexual Situations, Adult Situations, Strong Language *****
To him, I was only just Sage, Matt Nichols’ little sister. But I've worshiped Conall my whole life. My brother's best friend. My secret crush. My first and only love. Always hoping he’d really see... me.
And then, a torrent of circumstances ripped through my life. One by one, my family began to crumble. My dad's heart attack. My brother's tragic death. My mother's slipping sanity. And then Conall's abandonment. He took my heart when he left, but he gave me a reason to grow up fast, to be strong, and to live.
Now, just when things finally start looking up, he's back in Bitterroot. Standing before me, not the boy he once was, but a man. Just when I’m on the cusp of living again. Just when I’m starting to feel like I could let go of the past and be happy without him, the feelings I set aside for all those years are raging once again through my veins. My tight control is slipping. The future I've so carefully mapped out now seems so uncertain.
He’s changed, but he hasn’t. I hate him for leaving, but I love him for coming home.
But will he stay? And do I really, truly want him to after he shattered me before?
I really enjoyed Because of Kian (especially Kian) and Sage was an interesting side character that I wanted to read more of. At the age of sixteen, Sage gave her heart away to her brother’s best friend Conall. The timing was all wrong and Conall couldn’t deal with the guilt after Sage’s brother died. After taking something sacred of Sage’s he fled Bitteroot leaving Sage devastated and alone, well not completely alone as Sage would discover nine months later.
Sage was a strong, resilient character. She brought her daughter Mattie up single-handed whilst putting herself through school. Men were never high on the agenda and when Sage did decide to seek comfort, it was for nothing more than friends with benefits as she still carried a torch for Conall. Of course, her world is derailed when Conall returns home and both of them have a lot of explaining to do and a lot of time to make up for.
Always Conall was a quick, easy read for me. I really connected with Sage’s character and admired the way in which she conducted herself. I liked the premise of the story; a second chance at love for both characters now that they were in a healthier place but I felt the story was missing a sub plot, I was looking for something meatier to sink my teeth into.
Conall was a harder character for me to fall completely in love with, I’m not sure what it was about him, perhaps because he held a part of himself back, I couldn’t connect with him completely. I felt the story didn’t have the same sexy feel as Because of Kian but with that being said it was a sweet story and I was glad to see Sage’s dreams come true. And I have to mention cute little Mattie as she brought a smile to my face as I read.
For fans of the series, I have no doubt you will find a new book boyfriend in Conall.
“I love you, too, kiddo,” he hoarsely said, his voice thick with emotion. And just like that, I fell head over heels in love with Conall all over again.”
“I had no idea what she really meant when she asked me to stay. An hour. All night. I wanted to stay forever. Tucked inside this little apartment with everything I needed in this world. My sage and our Mattie.”
“I love you both so very much. In different ways. You’re my little girl. You just amaze me, and I think about you all the time. And your mommy…she captured my heart so long ago, and she’s had it ever since.”
“Sage,” he whispered, “don’t do this. Don’t say that. I’m not worth it.”
“But I do,” I shook my head defiantly. “I love you, Conall.” A drop of rain fell from the tip of his nose to his full lips, and I pulled myself up to capture it with a clumsy, tremulous kiss. My fingers framed his taut jaw. “I love you,” I hoarsely begged. “Please don’t go.”
“Sage,” he warned. His hands settled at my hips, as though to steady me… maybe even to steady himself. He didn’t pull me closer, but he didn’t push me away either. His raging uncertainty fueled my desperation, and I moved with him, guiding my fingers around his neck and pulling myself closer. Molding myself against his body, I lifted my trembling lips to kiss him again.
For a moment, he stood frozen, shocked by my brazen actions. I pulled my body against him hard, turning my head, increasing the pressure of my lips, pushing my tongue into his mouth. Kissing him like I’d always dreamed of doing.
He couldn’t leave me. He just couldn’t.
He was all I had left.
I had to make him stay. So I beseeched him with my kiss, my touch, my sheer overwhelming need. I pleaded with the tears that streamed from my eyes and mixed with the frigid raindrops. Please, Con,” I whispered.
“Please… I need you. I love you.”
And then, as though he was coming alive, his strong hand caught the base of my head, tangling in my hair as he began to kiss me back.

Music is her emotional trigger. Growing up with a Wagnarian-loving mother, Sibylla was raised to treasure music that digs deep into the psyche, drawing out elation, sorrow, grief, desire. The soundtrack to her life includes many genres spanning centuries. She looooooooves Thirty Seconds to Mars (rather obsessively, actually… but, really, how can you NOT be crazy about this guy!? Jared Leto. Shhh. ) & pimps them out to all her friends through Spotify. She also delights in Met Opera HD broadcasts at her local movie theater & hopes (listening Met?) to someday see Diana Damrau reprise her role as Mozart’s Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte. Sibylla lives with her husband and hero who saved her from her own calamitous, young-adult self. He makes her laugh daily, even when things are tough. He’s proved to her that love really can heal a shattered soul. In 18 years, they have never had a fight, although argue regularly with their two teenage kids who have, unfortunately, inherited their father’s quick wit (unfortunate as it is a quick wit that Sibylla, herself, definitely does not possess – there is a reason she is a writer & not a stand-up comedian). They live a quiet life with their two weird little rescued Chiweenies. Wait… teenagers & little yap-dogs? OK, maybe not so quiet.

Twelve overgrown man-children, sixteen hours, and a whole lot of liquor. Just how much fun can be had in one night?
Join Nate, Ashton and their friends on a wild night out on the town.
We were in the famous recording studios where my childhood heroes smacked the shit out of each other for our entertainment. I was literally standing in the ring where my heroes had stood, watching as the most incredible wrestler in the world walked towards me. His jet-black hair was covered by a red bandana the same as usual, and a black vest with ‘The Meddler’ was covering his muscled chest. My mouth dropped open in awe as he climbed into the ring, standing there at a mammoth six-feet-eight. At age fifty-nine, he still took my breath away.
When he made a growling sound and tore his shirt in half, throwing it at my feet, I just about lost it. Now it was my turn to scream like a pre-pubescent girl who had just been hugged by Harry Styles. Ashton clapped me on the back, grinning like an idiot. We’d spent many an hour when we were young and stupid trying to re-enact some of this guy’s moves. He probably loved him just as much as I did.
It took just under half an hour; obviously, they were fast workers. The curtain pulled back, and both George and my dad limped out, laughing and grinning to themselves. I sighed and raised one eyebrow expectantly. My dad grinned and turned his back on me, pulling down his Iron Man shiny red pants to show me a bandage on his butt cheek. Oh, God, do I even want to see this? Please, please, do not let my mom blame me for this! He pulled the bandage down and as soon as I saw the two little words, I burst out laughing.
Yep, my dad had seriously had that tattooed on his ass. He was a dead man walking.

Blog Tour - Stolen Dreams (Cassie Scot #4) by Christine Amsden ~ Brianna's Review and $100 Gift Card #Giveaway
Title: Stolen Dreams
Author: Christine Amsden
Series: Cassie Scot #4
Release Date: June 25, 2014
Publisher: Twilight Times Books
Age Group: New Adult
Genre: Fantasy/Paranormal Romance
Edward Scot and Victor Blackwood have despised one another for nearly a quarter of a century, but now their simmering hatred is about to erupt.
When Cassie Scot returns home from her sojourn in Pennsylvania, she finds that her family has taken a hostage. Desperate to end the fighting before someone dies, Cassie seeks help from local seer Abigail Hastings, Evan Blackwood’s grandmother. But Abigail has seen her own death, and when it comes at the hand of Cassie’s father, Victor Blackwood kills Edward Scot.
But things may not be precisely as they appear.
Evan persuades Cassie to help him learn the truth, teaming them up once again in their darkest hour. New revelations about Evan and his family make it difficult for Cassie to cling to a shield of anger, but can Evan and Cassie stop a feud that has taken on a life of its own? Conclusion to the Cassie Scot series.
When I read the synopsis for this final book in the Cassie Scot series, I knew I had to read it, even if some things that had happened in the previous books were confusing or blurry in my memory. Thanks to the author, I received an early opportunity to do just that, and I am pretty happy that I did.
Cassie really came into her own in this book. Even if it wasn’t how I was expecting, she changed for the better, and learned to love herself as she was. I thought some of the changes near the end were a little bit odd for Cassie’s character, but I still liked her overall. Reading this series from her point of view has been really fun, and I’ll definitely miss her character.
The side characters in this book continued to grow. I felt really horrible for Madison, but the fact that she always stuck by her friends’ side made me love her even more. As for Kaitlin, I thought that she definitely didn’t deserve what she got. She was still a good friend to Cassie and Madison though. Finally, there was Evan. All the reasons I liked his character came into play in this novel. Sure, he was overbearing and overprotective, but he was also open and honest. I was wondering how he and Cassie would get anywhere in this novel, since the feud between their families was at an all-time high, but I needn’t have worried. Their relationship really matured, and turned into something good for both of them, although I do think certain things changed a bit fast.
This story revolved around the feud between the Blackwoods and Scots. There were arguments, curses, fights, and even a death. Through all this, Evan and Cassie finally learned to work together, in order to discover what was really going on. I liked the romantic element in this book, even if some things did happen a bit too abruptly.
Either way, I couldn’t put this book down once I really got into it, and it was a good final installment in Cassie’s story. I enjoyed the friendship and romance, as well as the mystery. I did find the revelations and ending a bit anticlimactic, along with some of the things that happened with Evan and Cassie. Still, if you’ve read the first three books in this series, you should definitely pick up this one and see how everything ends. And if you haven’t read a book in this series, you need to go and pick up the first novel. The world and characters make this a series any paranormal reader won’t want to miss.

Book Title: Flawed and Damaged
Author: Emily Krat
Genre: New Adult/Contemporary Romance
Release Date: July 23, 2014
Two people haunted by their past…
The collision of two damaged hearts…
Meet Elizabeth Williams. She is at the airport on an important work assignment. If everything goes smoothly, after three years of hard work, she’ll get a promotion and a much-needed raise. Elizabeth is putting her life back on track after it was ripped out from under her feet four years ago when she lost her parents along with all her dreams. Standing here, she believes her life is going to change for the better any moment now. Nothing can go wrong, right?
Meet Ryan Price. He came to Moscow on business. Right now, Ryan is standing at the airport looking at a ‘present’ from his brother, judging by the sign a beautiful young woman is holding. Damn his brother for not cancelling this arrangement as Ryan asked.
Miscommunications and misunderstandings and a brilliant but painful love story begins.
There will be a scary flight, lovely breakfasts, long evening conversations, sharing a secret or two, discovering one another, a lot of laughter, tender moments and some tears, a fight and, of course, the I-am-ready-for-the-end-of-the-world kiss.
Somewhere along the way, they won’t be able to fight their feelings any longer.
For the first time in his life, Ryan will experience a different shade of lust. And for the first time in her life, Elizabeth will have to trust despite all of the times she has been hurt.
Will these two wounded lost souls find love, peace and comfort in each other or will they just break each other more? Is it a train wreck of a love story or a happily ever after?
Elizabeth Williams and Ryan Price meet in an airport in Moscow, Russia. Elizabeth is on an assignment for work, but Ryan does not know this. He believes she is sent by her brother. This little mix up completely changes their lives. After the mix up is sorted through, Elizabeth and Ryan both cannot stop thinking about the other. Their attraction to each other was instant. But this attraction runs deeper than looks. They recognized something in each other’s eyes. Pain. And the need to take it away.
The pace of this story was slow, which I enjoyed. It made it possible to get to know the characters, Elizabeth and Ryan on such a deeper level. Elizabeth’s life was shattered at seventeen. Ryan grew up with a shell of parents that taught nothing of love, trust, or life. To him, women always had other motives. He is much more than your average rich hot guy. He is in emotional pain and anguish. And you feel it for him. You also feel the spark in hime come alive as he gets to know Elizabeth. And Elizabeth’s dull eyes brighten every time she sets her eyes on Ryan. Life was never kind to them. And love? That only brought pain. The people you are supposed to love can disappear. And the people you trust? They lie. There is no insta love here. These two broken people were very hesitant even about a friendship. But their connection is undeniable. It’s there, despite the layers they have protecting their hearts.
“You just haven’t found the one you can’t breathe without.”
Slowly, Elizabeth and Ryan’s walls come down. They begin to truly open themselves up. Secrets are revealed. And some of them can damage them. Perhaps beyond repair. But that’s the thing about love. Love always finds its way back in our hearts. And Elizabeth and Ryan are no different. Their love existed before either of them realized it. Making it strong. And everlasting.
“Every moment, every word, every smile, everything about her is captivating. Everything takes my breath away. If I were a poet, I would call our time together an array of stolen breaths.”
Ryan found that even in darkness, there is light. And his light is Elizabeth. It takes him awhile to get there, but he does. I found that this love story was beautiful, honest, and truly genuine. I enjoyed the flow of the writing as the dual POV transitioned nicely.
“...the real confirmation is where our chests are pressed together-his heartbeat. It beats in an explosive frenzy that matches mine.”
I found Flawed and Damaged to be a breath of fresh air as I read this story of two very broken people go through life existing, but never living. The story is written in a sense were you get to sit back and truly immerse yourself in the lives of the main characters. I definitely look forward to more of this author’s work. I cannot wait to see where she takes these characters in book two.
