I was provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I felt this was a good follow up to April Showers. It picks up right where book one left off. April Fools has a lot more romance and more steamy scenes. The relationship between Isaac and April is much more developed as we see that they truly fall in love. Their relationship endures challenges and obstacles that were inevitable and others that were not expected. But charming Isaac always stayed true to his character and always fought for love.
Without spoiling the series, due to the major event that occurred at the end of book one, April is left devastated, confused and hurt. Isaac completely steps in and becomes her rock. I believe it is this time that we realize how much Isaac really loves April. I know that in the back of my mind I wondered if April was with Isaac because she was confused about her feelings over Lukas. However, there are series of events that occur that solidified that Isaac and April are meant to be together.
Overall this was a fun and short read. It has romance and angst all wrapped into one. Part of me wishes it was longer, however sometimes its best when authors not drag out the drama for the readers. This was executed well. I think Karli has grown as a writer with this book. The writing flows better, and there is better character development within the story. I also felt that I connected with the characters even more in April Fools than in the first book. I recommend this to anyone that enjoys the New Adult genre.
Karli Perrin is a 25 year old English Language & Linguistics graduate from Manchester, England. She has always been a big lover of books and is the author of the 'April' series.
She is a big believer of fate and is a sucker for a happy ending. She honestly believes that there is a reason why you are reading this right now (apart from the fact that you are awesome!)
Her ultimate goal in life is to live in a house made entirely out of books with her best friend, who also happens to be her fiancé.
...Hogwarts is plan B.
