"My favorite dress of yours will always be…the one on the floor.”
Tangled and Drew Evans were two of my favorite things about my book adventures this year. So I was really looking forward to reading some more of Emma Chase’s quick witted writing, and Drew’s hilariously sexy mouth. Did I get that? Yeah, sort of I guess. I knew this was a short story, and I’m totally okay with SHORT stories. But that wasn’t my problem this story in particular. I just felt like it ended way too soon, I needed more even if just a little more.
You get the funny, sweet, sexy Drew Evan’s and all of his funny business. You get to see some cute, funny banter between Him & Kate. And you even get a little friend/family drama. But that is all. Like for real. There is absolutely no plot to follow, and the storyline doesn’t really lead anywhere. And by the ending I was actually scratching my head at what I just read. Was it bad? Absolutely not! In fact I really enjoyed the writing, and flow. I just wish that it would have gone somewhere, anywhere really. I’d even be satisfied with a cliffhanger.
So after I was done reading I actually second guessed myself and went back to re-read some of it, thinking maybe I’d missed some key element or something--I didn’t find anything different. So then I thought, well maybe this will be part of a short story series that will be put altogether at some point. But even then, I just didn’t get it. Or maybe I’m just in my head too much, since the only thing I have to go off of is Tangled. Which is one of my favorite reads this year. I swear I really had high hopes for this short story, but it just didn’t happen for me. And I would actually like people to read this so I can see the vast differences in opinions and compare those to my own. I would really love to see the different discussions now that I’ve read it. You get more Drew, so that’s a positive for sure!
“For a guy, there’s something primordial about a woman covered in your scent—it’s the most primitive way of staking your claim. Of showing every other peckerhead that a woman is very much taken. It’s animalistic, sure, but that doesn’t make it any less arousing.” ~Drew Evans

When I heard we were getting more Drew, I was ecstatic. Tangled is one of my favorite reads ever because of him. Just like in Tangled, Drew is the witty sarcastic, sexy hunk of a man in Holy Friggin Matrimony.
The events leading up to the wedding were sexy and funny. Drew knows how to please his woman while making the readers laugh. The wedding itself and after? Hilarious. As always Drew’s jealous and arrogance takes precedence as he is challenged by Kate’s former flame. Holy Friggin Matrimony gives us a glimpse of how Kate and Drew are doing as well as the rest of the gang. You think you know the direction on how the book is going and it takes a surprising turn.
While I enjoyed more Drew in my life, I wish it were longer. I know it’s a short story, but I am greedy when it comes to him. Can’t wait for more Drew in our lives!
When I saw that a Tangled short story was being released I was super excited to get my hands on more Drew. I knew before reading this short story that it was only 40 pages so I tried not to expect too much since it was so short and Drew being Drew, I knew there were going to be plenty of laughs.
So when I started this book, I thought the plot was going to go a certain way. A few pages in I realized that the book was that the turn of events was not what I had in mind. We get to see Drew,, Kate, and a wedding along with their families and friends. Drew, of course, was his dirty-funny self and he had me chuckling more than once. I know it is a short story, but I still found it way too short for my liking.
Overall, I found this short story to be a fun quick read. It gives you a little taste of Drew before Twisted comes out in a few months.
Holy Frigging Matrimony is a bonus e-short from the gang of Tangled. For fans of Kate and Drew, this short story gives you a tiny bit more from them. Don’t go into this thinking it is a full novella that focuses on Kate and Drew’s future together, if that is the case you will be left unsatisfied. Yes, I will admit that is exactly what I was expecting.
Holy Frigging Matrimony has a mix of funny and sexy scenes; if you have a spare twenty minutes then it is worth a read. Kate and Drew are still going strong; it’s their friends’ mishap this is the focus this time around. I think this would have been best suited as a free bonus scene on the back of a full novel or perhaps on the author’s website rather than a separate piece of work. With that being said for fans of the series, you won’t want to miss any morsels you can get from this dynamic duo.
By day, Emma Chase is a devoted wife and mother of two who resides in a small, rural town in New Jersey. By night she is a keyboard crusader, toiling away the hours to bring her colorful characters and their endless antics to life. She has a long standing love/hate relationship with caffeine.
Emma is an avid reader. Before her children were born she was known to consume whole books in a single day. Writing has also always been a passion and with the 2013 release of her debut romantic comedy, Tangled, the ability to now call herself an author is nothing less than a dream come true.
