Garth Black is back!! And I for one was excited when I heard this news. I have always had a soft spot for this sexy, moody troubled cowboy. Life is good for Garth; he is finally with the girl of his dream Josie Gibson. He is living his dream by competing in Rodeo competitions with the chance to head to the Nationals however; when tragedy strikes his world is turned upside down.
"How could one moment, one flash in time, be responsible for changing my whole existence?"
Told from Garth point of view, as you see his vulnerability, as his insecurities, doubts and fears started creeping back and my heart broke for him. I could understand why he was acting the way he did, but he did frustrate me as he was stubborn and his worse enemy at times. He starts pushing those closest away instead of letting them help him
“I felt that instinct to push people away and hurt them before they could hurt me clawing to the surface. I know those were vices I should let back into my life, but I could seem to hold them back”
Josie was great, love her strength and how she was determined to get Garth so see that whatever happens she is going to be at his side. As they are a team that cannot be broken, no matter what Garth thinks. Josie and Garth are both just as stubborn and strong-willed as each other. They have both overcame a lot to get to where they are. Loved their connection, their banter and their chemistry they are hot, sexy and passionate.
“I don’t run when things get scary, Garth. I thought you would have known that by now.
“I love you so much it’s what defines me. You define me, Joze. You make my existence count.”
Loved that Jessie and Rowan back they were a great support for Garth and loved Rowan was her feisty self and would tell Garth a few home truths even when he didn’t want to hear them. You also get to see what happing in their lives, and it sets the scene up for their last book called Heart and Soul, which I’m looking forward to reading.
Losers Weepers was a great addition to the Lost and Found series, an emotional heartwarming read. If I had to say anything, it would be that some parts could have been developed more. I felt the ending was a little rushed and would have liked it to have been longer, but that being said I did enjoy the storyline. I will say despite all what Garth was going through Nicole makes sure we still get to see his cockiness, his smart mouth and his one liners, and sweet side that we have come to love about him.
“Love wasn't simple. It didn't come naturally or instinctively or easily. It had to be earned and fought for and could drive a person to insanity just as quickly as it could drive them to greatness, but in the midst of all of that confusion, I knew one thing: I loved this woman. And she loved me."
This is a must read for Garth Black fans.
I’m the New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author of the CRASH series (HarperTeen, S&S UK), LOST & FOUND series, UP IN FLAMES (S&S UK), The EDEN TRILOGY, and a handful of others. I write stories about everyday kinds of people who find themselves in extraordinary kinds of situations. I tell love stories with happy endings because I believe in making the world a better place, and that’s one tiny way I can make it so. I’m one of those people who still believe in true love and soul mates, and would rather keep my head in the clouds any day over having my feet firmly on the ground
