“Love isn’t something you can negotiate, Nash. When it happens, it becomes everything.”
*I received an ARC via Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.*
I am a firm fan of the Marked Men series and Nash is a great addition. I was desperate to get inside Nash’s head. He was one character that I knew little about, in book three-Rome, his history was hinted at and a face from his past appeared so I couldn’t wait for his story to unfold.
Nash has so much going on in his life, from discovering something life changing about his family, to dealing with his Uncle Phil’s illness all the while juggling his job and overseeing the expansion of his business, the last thing he needs is a another complication in the form of Saint, a girl from his high school years.
Saint may remember more of her past with Nash than he does, for the words he once spoke shaped the person she became. Due to this, Saint is full of insecurities and struggles to believe in herself. As a nurse, she is confident in her professional abilities but when it comes to matters of the heart and those of a sexual nature, Saint is left vulnerable and running scared from Nash.
Nash is one of the more emotional books in the series. I loved both Nash and Saint’s individual journeys. Their relationship got off to a rocky start, with Saint running hot and cold with Nash but due to their shared history, it was obvious something deeper was at work.
I loved Nash and was so pleased he got his own story. From learning more about his body art, to his childhood and his relationship with Phil, it all led to me falling for him. He had so much going on yet he always made time for Saint and made her feel like the special girl he seen her as. *swoon*
“Your hair is awesome and wild; I love that shit . . . and your eyes. Fuck me, but your eyes could inspire men to go to war, to paint works of art, to rip their goddamn heart out of their chest and offer it to you without second thought . . .then and now.”
I could relate to Saint as will every girl that reads her story. Who doesn’t have hang ups from high school, cruel words and taunts can leave a lasting mark on your future so I completely got where she was coming from. However, I did think she took it out unfairly on Nash at times and I was urging her to see sense sooner.
“That wasn’t just sex; that was Nash giving part of himself over to me to keep forever.”
“I knew loving him back, giving him all he gave me wasn’t going to be a problem because I needed him and only him in the exact same way.”
The men of series are obviously known for their body art and piercings, Nash of course was no exception and the picture I had in my head was a pretty hot one! Nash was confident in bed and he had no trouble showing Saint over and over again what he could do. She was one lucky girl!
As the series progresses it’s great to feel the bond between the whole group strengthen. Rule, Rome and co were always on hand to support Nash and help him through his problems. Nash put his heart on the line with Saint, this of course had me swooning but also it was nice to see the roles reversed and it was the guy fighting for the girl to commit for a change.
I enjoy Jay’s writing. I love re-visting this group of characters and discovering something new each time. The pacing of the story was done well and my interest was held to the very end. It was told in dual point of view and this worked well to get to know both Saint and Nash better. Saint had her own troubles to deal with whilst trying to be the girl Nash deserved as well as fighting for the life she herself deserved.
Nash had me laughing, smiling and crying all over the course of a few hours. If you are a fan of the series, I have no doubt you will fall just as easily for Nash as I did and now I really can’t wait for Rowdy’s story.
“With Saint I was starting to want to not only turn everything upside down, but put it in a jar, or a box, and shake it all up and around until something completely different came out. A different Nash and Saint who could figure this shit out.”
“He pulled me across his heaving chest and sealed our mouths together in a kiss that tasted like satisfaction and always.”
“Easy is very forgettable, my friend, complicated and difficult stays with you forever. Believe me, I married it.” ~ Rule
“You are a strong man, a good man, and you can handle anything life throws at you, no matter how difficult it may be. I want you to know, this man-the man you are now-he is a man you can be proud of. You are the greatest thing I ever created. Don’t you doubt it.”

I'm supposed to share interesting details about myself so that my readers get to know me so here we go in no particular order: I'm an natural redhead even though I haven't seen my real hair color in years, I'm a big fan of tattoos and have a half sleeve on either arm and various other pieces all over the place, I've been in the bar industry since I was in college and it has always offered interesting insight into how men and women interact with each other, I have 3 dogs that are all crazy, I live in Colorado and love the snow, I love music and in all reality wish I could be a rock star not a writer or a bartender but I have zero talent so there is that. I love to write, love to read and all I'm interested in is a good story with interesting characters that make the reader feel something. Thanks for taking the time to check my stuff out...
