*I received an ARC in exchange for honest review*
I was so excited when Nico finally arrived on my kindle. I may have even done a little happy dance. I absolutely love The Leaves Series; it really has to be one of my favourites.
Nicholas “ Nico” Grant’s story is such a lovely, well-written and heartfelt read that captivated me from the very first page, and it wasn’t long before I was reaching for the tissues. After meeting Nico in the first book and finding out what he did for Inky I had a feeling that he was someone special.
Nico really was a man who was broken by the heartbreaking stories told to him from the women who came to him. What Nico does for these women, his birds, as he calls them is amazing, genuine, and sincere. The tattoos he puts on their bodies help them feel strong, and help heal their pain. I just fell in love with him.
I loved the storyline about strength, trust, love, soul mates, healing, closure, friendships and family. Like my reviews for Inky and Cole, I’m not going to tell you much more about it, as it would give too much away, and I really want you to go and read it for yourself knowing not much more that what the synopsis tells you. I will say it has its twists and turns, it’s moving, touching and tense at times with drama, angst, romance, humour, and hot steamy moments. It took me on that emotional roller coaster that I love.
Brilliantly told from Nico’s POV, you get to understand him, about the girl from his past who shaped his future, and why he chooses the way, he does to escape his emotions. You feel his pain, his loneliness, but above that, he has a great heart. His letters to Dish were touching. His relationship with Lark was beautiful, special, and emotional. They love each other, change each other and make each other strong. They really were excellent together. I loved Lark as she always surprised me with the way she reacted to things and I really admired her.
Overall, I loved this book, such a touching story, and even though I had figured out part of it, I really didn’t care, as I loved seeing it unfold. Again excellent supporting characters such as Zack, Teensy, Frodo and Nico’s parents were sweethearts, but his dad was the best, so funny at times. I loved seeing Inky and Cole as they have a special place in my heart, and the reason I love this series.
In my review for Cole I may have mentioned that I was a little disappoint that there was no epilogue, well it wasn’t the case with Nico, this epilogue didn’t disappoint I loved it. I had the sense that J.B Hartnett was saying, “You wanted an epilogue did you? Well here you go take that!” Hahaha!
So as the book hangover begins I can’t wait to read whatever J.B is writing next as I know I’m going to love it. Loved her writing style, and the way she makes me feel while reading her books.
If you haven’t read Inky and Cole the I can’t stress enough that you go, and one click this book today, and if you haven’t then what are you waiting fo?! Go treat yourself, and buy all three, you need to meet, and like me, fall in love with these special and amazing characters.
I can’t end this review without mentioning the covers, another beautiful cover for another beautiful story. I absolutely adore them each as beautiful as the last. I remember seeing the cover for Inky, and even before I read the synopsis I knew I wanted to read it. I can’t wait to get these books in paperback so that I display them on my bookshelf.
I highly recommend this series-take it from me you won't be disappointed.

Julie is a Southern California native, a fan of a really good story (preferably romance with a happily ever after), really good pie (preferably pumpkin) and copious amounts of coffee (preferably Folgers).
She has always enjoyed writing and at one time thought she could be a singer songwriter...the 'writer' part is the one that stuck.
Julie is obsessed with pi...the equation(and the food). She's allergic to cats and cantaloupe and hates mushrooms...so if you ever want to give her a gift, those are out for sure. She currently lives with her own romance hero husband and two boys in Melbourne, Australia.
