*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.*
I’m such a fan of Kate Perry, and just love her Laurel Heights series. So when I discovered she was going to start a new series with new characters, in a new location I was excited.
Rosalind Summerhill is stylish, strong, independent, and knows what she wants. She is a wedding dress designer who has returned home to London for her father’s funeral who died in a car crash with his mistress.
Not having the best relationship with her family, all Rosalind wants to do is go to the funeral, pay her respects, and leave without family drama. However, that’s easier said than done when a missing will means she has to stay and help her sisters protect their mother’s future.
Rosalind meets Nick Long who is at the funeral with his sister Summer. Nick is hot, sexy and a good guy. Sparks fly between the two, and Rosalind knows Nick is just what she wants and needs, and he feels the same way. I liked Nick, he and Rosalind are a great couple and I loved the banter they share. His feelings towards Rosalind are genuine but unbeknown to Rosalind, Nick has reluctantly gotten caught up in a crazy plan of his sister’s, so he’s not entirely honest with her, and has few secrets of his own.
I loved the storyline; it was a fun, easy read about family, love, secrets, and forgiveness with plenty of romance, sexiness and some heartwarming moments that was not too high on the drama and angst. It had everything I love about Kate’s books. The history element of the book, which I was not expecting, was a nice surprise. It made me feel that I was reading a modern day romance and a historical romance at the same time. I loved reading about the Summerhill family history and their traditions.
I loved the supporting characters and I enjoyed getting to know Rosalind’s sisters; Beatrice, Portia, Viola, Summer, Titania, and Imogene. Their antics in finding the will and their sibling bickering made me laugh so many times. I’m looking forward to reading their stories as the series continues. And in true Kate style there was a side storyline, which was sweet and touching about the relationship dilemmas of a character called Em.
Overal,l I loved this book, I knew Kate wouldn’t disappoint me. I loved her writing, her characters, the pace and the flow of the story. I knew that as I swiped the last pages, the story ends for some characters but is the beginning for others.
Say You Will is a fun, romantic story that will leave you with a smile on your face. As I always say if you have not had the pleasure of reading one of Kate Perry’s books, then I would recommend that you do, as I don’t think you will be disappointed.
I loved that most of the characters were British and it was set in London. Some of the places and locations Kate mentioned in the book I know, and a few are just a stone’s throw away from my house. While reading this book I recalled the updates and photos that Kate posted while she was in London when writing this book in particular. Including the place where Rosalind orders Earl Grey, scones and champagne. :-)

“You’re more important than a one night stand”~ Nick
“I just think if we wanted, we could make it work.”~ Rosalind
“When it gets difficult, promise me you’ll remember this moment. This is true. This is what we are” ~ Nick.
“I’m not interested in playing” she lied…”I want forever. I want you forever.” ~ Rosalind
“She thought about the way he fit. Not just sexually, although that was fairly fabulous. He simply understood her – was in sync with her”
“You know I want someone to fit with me. You know I want a family. You Know I want you, that I crave you, because even in your anger you can’t deny that I showed you this every time I touch you. You know I love you.” ~Nick
Kate will be hosting a contest on her Facebook page in honour of Say You Will's release! If you would like to check it out, please visit her page.
Kate has tangoed at midnight with a man in blue furry chaps, dueled with flaming swords in the desert, and strutted on bar tops across the world and back. She’s been kissed under the Eiffel Tower, had her butt pinched in Florence, and been serenaded in New Orleans. But she found Happy Ever After in San Francisco with her Magic Man.
Kate’s the bestselling author of the Laurel Heights Novels, as well as the Family and Love and Guardians of Destiny series. She’s been translated into several languages and is quite proud to say she’s big in Slovenia. All her books are about strong, independent women who just want love.
Most days, you can find Kate in her favorite café, working on her latest novel. Sometimes she’s wearing a tutu. She may or may not have a jeweled dagger strapped to her thigh…
