“The Road to this day wasn’t all rainbows and boners.”
Oh how I have missed the mind of Drew Evans. He is hands down one of the funniest male MCs I have read. I love Drew and the fact he is now a father and about to become betrothed has not changed him one bit. He is still as witty and hilarious but above all he still has a great big heart and a lot of love for his soon-to-be wife, his son and his family and friends.
“I really liked my old life and I couldn’t imagine anything better. But I was wrong, James-falling in love with her, earning her trust, having you, are the best things I’ve ever done.”
Tied takes place two years after the end of Twisted. Adorable James is now two. Kate and Drew have adjusted and juggled their life to accommodate their son and both have their career. So the only thing left to do is, officially tie the knot.
I will admit, I thought there would have been more Kate and Drew time. I love when they are together and as the cover suggests, I thought the wedding was the focal point. In actual fact, it was their bachelor and bachelorette parties that the story covered, with the nuptials thrown in at the end. As soon as Vegas and Drew were mentioned in the same sentence, I knew a ‘Hangover’ plot would follow. So there was plenty of mischief and shenanigans before the big day.
It was great to see the gang share one last hurrah, before Drew became a married man, and also because this book ends the series. Even Kate’s ex, Billy came along for the ride, and Drew’s attitude towards him was priceless.
And of course, it was great to see Matt and Dee-Dee make an appearance. I loved reading about the progression of their life and it was great to see, some things never change between Drew and Dee-Dee especially when it came to arranging strippers and accessories for Kate’s bachelorette party.
“Of course it’ll fucking bother me!”
“Dee-Dee says what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.”
“Matthew needs to learn how to muzzle his fucking gander.”
“Thank you, Dee-Dee. I’ll save these for after dinner.”
My father grins. Broadly. Great. Now I’m stuck with the image of my sweet, saintly mother sucking down a cock-pop while my old man watches. There’s an excellent chance I’ll never get a boner again.
For all the fun it was to see Drew and Kate have one last blow out before they got married. My favourite parts of the story were the flashbacks to days of James’ beginning and as always Drew had insightful advice, now that he was a parent. He was hilarious and always tells it how it is.
“Here’s the kicker-in spite of the exhaustion? The frustration? The crying that makes you want to puncture your fucking eardrum with a meat thermo? You love them anyway. Fully. Fiercely. Intensely.”
“You gotta be quiet, buddy. If your mom finds me in here, she’s gonna lock up her pussy like a steel safe. It’ll take me hours to crack that bad boy back open.”
In terms of context, Tied wasn’t my favourite of the series, when I first began to read, I easily put the book down once or twice. As much as I loved Drew, I was expecting something more. But he is pure entertainment and I think if you go in with that frame of mind then you won’t be disappointed.
Tied was bittersweet, it is sad to see this gang go but at the same time it was great to be in their world again. I always laugh out loud whenever I encounter one of Emma Chase’s characters. I love her writing and I really can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
If you are a fan of the series, Tied will send you out with one last fun, shenanigan filled bang.

Words cannot describe how much I adore Drew Evans. I think he may be by favorite male character ever. He’s funny, charming, oh and he’s a big jerk. That is putting it nicely. But I love him all the same. As this series comes to an end, Tied is sure to remind true Drew fans what made you fall for him in the first place!
“What God has joined together, let no one who wants to keep his arm attached try to pull asunder.”
This time around, Drew and Kate are parents to the most adorable little boy, James. I have to say, Drew was always hot. But to see him as a father put him over the edge. His heart is so big. Never thought he could love as hard as he does. Kate and his little boy are his world. But this wouldn’t be Drew’s story if there was no drama involved. Drew and Kate are ready to tie the knot. Their bachelor and bachelorette weekend finds them in Vegas. With all their friends. Yes, the entire gang. Yes. That gang!
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas right? Well...kinda. The things that go down in Vegas were quite hilarious. I found myself laughing out loud. Several times. Ok. Fine. A lot. While funny, the story shows how much Drew has grown as a person, a father, and now a husband.
If you love this series as much as I do, you will absolutely devour Tied. I found it impossible to put down this book! I will never get enough of Drew. His witty and captivating demeanor will stay with me for a long time to come.
