She's living her dream...
Kylie Ryans is the biggest thing to come out of Nashville since, well, since Trace Corbin. With a hit album and a powerful label behind her, she appears to be the girl who has it all.
But appearances can be deceiving.
Fresh out of rehab, Trace Corbin is ready to take on the world. Just not the girl he walked away from. Because if there's one thing he knows for certain, it's that the people you love are the ones who have the power to destroy you.
As their worlds collide, they'll have to make the ultimate choice. Follow their dreams, or give it all up for love.
They say love conquers all, but for Kylie and Trace, it just might wreck everything they've worked for.
âI donât want to be involved in anyoneâs game. Not his and not the labelâs. Thatâs how I started out, and Iâve put it behind me. My career is about me. Not about him and not about whatever the label wants to spin us as. He and I are nothing and itâs going to stay that way.â
âHe who?â Maude Lowenstein prompted. âIf your feelings for him arenât an issue, then how come you havenât said his name? Heâs not Voltemort, last I checked. Saying his name wonât conjure him out of thin air.â
Kylie resisted the urge to fold her arms and glare at the surprisingly sharp and callous woman in her late sixties. And to storm the hell out. She took a deep breath and shrugged.
âTrace. His name is Trace. And while I fully support his A Hand Up charity-thing, I have no interest in being involved in his benefit concert. Iâll donate a signed guitar or something. But Iâm not going to it. I wasnât even technically invited. We done here?â
She began to scoot out of the booth, but her manager reached out and put a hand on her arm.
âYou were invited, Kylie. Heâs having a hard time. The venue pulled out because of his rehab stay and so did some of his family-friendly sponsors. The eventâs been moved to his property in Macon and his sister called me personally and invited you.â
Heâs having a hard time.
The words wrapped around her heart and squeezed. Kylie swallowed and looked up at the ceiling. She sucked in a lungful of air and glanced from her agent to her manager.
âAll I have to do is show up?â
The other two people at her table exchanged glances and Chaz cleared his throat.
âUm, not exactly. The label was hoping you and Trace would sing The Other Side of Me. On the tailgate of some truck thatâs being donated to his charity.â
Kylieâs eyebrows shot up in surprise. âWhy do they want us to sing it at some benefit? I donât see how that would make any difference to them.â
âWe donât know for sure,â Maude answered. âBut if I had to make an educated guess, Iâd say theyâre playing with the idea of sending you two on tour together. Again.â

You know when you start reading a book, and you just kind of stay in that same uncomfortable position because youâre unsure if it will grab you? And then you have those types of books that make you stop everything youâre doing just to make sure youâre comfortable for the long haul because thereâs no way in hell youâre going stop reading. This is that book. THIS is that series! Ever since Girl with Guitar I have been 100% invested in this series, Iâm in love with these characters, and my heart ached for them to come full circle. This beautifully written conclusion to the Kylie Ryans Series will pull your heart 8 different ways, and at any given moment youâre unsure of just which way that is. But I will say this, my heart is whole & completely satisfied.
When we first met Kylie Ryans in Girl with Guitar she was a witty, feisty, full- of-life little spitfire with dreams bigger than the sun, and a heart open and willing to love. Kylie is hands down one of my favorite Book Girlfriends ever! She says it like she means it, but not in a bitchy way. Sheâs just modestly confident. And going through this journey with her was such a surreal thing as a reader. You actually get to see all of the facets of emotions she goes through and the growth and strength she continues to have regardless of the hurdles that are thrown her way. In this third book sheâs lost a little of herself, sheâs not the same she was before, and trust me you can feel it come through the pages. For those who have read the first two books, you know the reason for this is none other than Trace Corbin.
Trace Corbin Just about killed me in Girl on Tour. I was never mad at him though. It was more of a disappointed feeling more than anything. The fact that he didnât want Kylie by his side during his rehabilitation was just foolish pride I believe. I know he cared for her deeply, and that in his own mind, he was making the right decision for the both of them. And I find that admirable in him. This is why Girl in Love will pull at your heart. In Kylieâs head he didnât trust the relationship enough to have or want her by his side. She felt unloved, unappreciated and abandoned by Trace. Trace basically wanted to do right for himself so that he could be the kind of man Kylie deserved and needed. This is where everything gets all screwed up, and the true guts of the story will put a slow lingering burn inside of you throughout this whole book!
Caisey Quinn does an amazing job of fueling your heart with her love potion just a little at a time. Just the tiniest of drops here and there. Just enough to keep you wanting more. The build up and angst in this book is phenomenal, and to be honest I wouldnât want it any other way. I just want it to keep going forever and ever.
The whole time I was reading this book I just wanted Kylie and Trace to get their crap together straight away! But that would be boring and dumb I guess. Instead you get this heart wrenching, sweet & sour, head scratching-ly good story about love and forgiveness and acceptance. And itâs beautiful how it all comes together. I probably cried way too many times throughout this story, for both good and bad reasons. But that is probably because this series ending is so bittersweet for me. If you havenât read the series do it now! You wonât be sorry. The biggest surprise for me was the transformation Trace made. Which I ultimately think wasnât that big of a change. I believe the man he needed to be has always been inside him, and I truly think his biggest addiction will always be Kylie. Like I said before, so many people were mad at him after Girl on Tour. And after reading book #3 I think he is probably one of the most stan- up dudes I have read. It takes a lot for a man to do the ACTUAL right thing. And he does. And my heart is still swollen from this damn book! Just go read it!
