Jewel does it AGAIN! Every time I'm afraid that the next book won't be as good as the last, I'm wrong every time! And it has happened yet again! You first meet Lake and Cage in the AMAZING Jack & Jill series, which by the way is a must read series! Technically this could be a standalone if you don't mind spoiling some pretty crucial parts of the J&J series. I personally would recommend to my friends to start with J&J, but some people don't mind spoilers so have at it! It's definitely worth it, Lake and Cage are worth every word!
Both Lake and Cage have gone through some pretty tough situations in their past, and they've actually met 3 years earlier and shared a sweet yet fleeting moment. So seeing each other again after all this time seems almost serendipitous, and the irony behind the situation just adds to that.
"One day. One kiss. One moment. One unforgettable memory."
The connection these two have is absolutely out of a fairy tale, the snarky prince and the stubborn princess dancing their little courtship dance. It was so sweet and heartwarming. Then you add in Jewel's signature humor, hilarious witty banter, great sexual build up and you have a perfect book! Seriously, I was laughing so hard at some parts that my stomach actually hurt and I had tears in my eyes--NO JOKE. I loved every minute of this story and in this crazy messed up world we live in, it's SO nice to be able to escape with Lake and Cage. If Jewel keeps this up I'm going to run out of room on my top reads of 2016 list. Lake is such an admirable, loveable, quirky, character and honest to a fault. She lost her leg in an accident but she doesn’t let that define who she is, she isn’t disabled and she most definitely doesn’t act that way. And Cage is just... Cage. The way he treats Lake will make you fall out of your chair, like seriously. He is so swoonworthy and everything you could ever want in a fictional daydream, he is probably one of the most thoughtful and generous male characters I've ever read and he is for sure top book boyfriend material.
I absolutely loved the journey that Lake and Cage went through, and Jewel is such a master of words, it's all of the little things that you remember while reading this story. Everything from Lake's cat, Trzy to Cage's little secret mementos, to the more than loveable side characters. Every part of this book fell into place like floating puzzle pieces finding their home, it felt so organic and I actually found myself ooooing and ahhhing out loud like a fool. Not to mention the huge smile on my face the whole time. I said it before and I’ll say it again. This book is absolute perfection and I really didn’t it want to end. I feel like I can’t adequately express how magnetic Jewel’s writing is, it’s brilliant, and captivating. And even though I felt really happy and content while reading this book, I also had tears because of the depth of emotion that was involved. If you want to feel good, or NEED to feel great, this story will do it for you.
Jewel is a free-spirited romance junkie with a quirky sense of humor.
With 10 years of flossing lectures under belt, she took early retirement from her dental hygiene career to stay home with her three awesome boys and manage the family business.
After her best friend of nearly 30 years suggested a few books from the contemporary Romance genre, Jewel was hooked. Devouring two and three books a week but still craving more, she decided to practice sustainable reading, AKA writing.
When she’s not donning her cape and saving the planet one tree a a time, she enjoys yoga with friends, good food with family, rock climbing with her kids, watching How I Met Your Mother reruns, and of course . . .heart-wrenching, tear-jerking, panty-scorching novels.

Nico Medina’s world is eleven miles away from mine. During the day, it’s a place where doors are open—where homes are lived in, and neighbors love. But when the sun sets, it becomes a place where young boys are afraid, where eyes watch from idling cars that hide in the shadows and wicked smoke flows from pipes.
West End is the kind of place that people survive. It buries them—one at a time, one way or another. And when Nico was a little boy, his mom always told him to run.
I’m Reagan Prescott—coach’s daughter, sister to the prodigal son, daughter in the perfect family.
Life on top.
My world is the ugly one. Private school politics and one of the best high school football programs in the country can break even the toughest souls. Our darkness plays out in whispers and rumors, and money and status trump all. I would know—I’ve watched it kill my family slowly, strangling us for years.
In our twisted world, a boy from West End is the only shining light.
I hated him before I needed him.
I fell for him fast.
I loved him when it was almost too late.
When two ugly worlds collide, even the strongest fall. But my world…it hasn’t met the boy from West End.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Nico Medina and Reagan Prescott are from two different worlds. Nico is from the wrong side of the tracks facing a world of adversity every step of the way, while Regan is from a world of power, privilege, and a higher social class. But as perfect as this life sounds, there is a darkness that lives there. Due to circumstance, their worlds collide. Football. This town breathes it. Lives it. But its in trouble. It finds its saving grace in Nico. But at what cost? Nico faces bullying, jealousy, and even racism. But through that, he persevered. He pushes harder. He fights. And Reagan believes in him. Believes in his heart. He knows what he is capable of. They end up falling, but their love is threatened. Challenged. But their love will steal your heart.
"I'm a part of Nico's story. And he's a part of mine. I believe in him. More than I've believed in anything, and the enormity of it makes my chest hurt."
Their love is bold. Profound. Life changing. The way Nico and Reagan love is earth shattering. Inspiring. They love so deeply. Loudly. Without abandon. Their love pushes boundaries. Overcomes obstacles. The Hard Count is an eye opening, thought provoking, and absolutely moving story of two people who’s love and admiration for each other changes everything. If you love sports romance, this is perfect for you. The author masterfully balances romance, some angst, and sports that truly engages the reader. This story is deep. It pulls on your heartstrings. It’s a story that will stay with me for a long time to come.
“Make me earn it,” he says, pausing again to take my top lip between both of his. “I’ll earn it. I’ll never stop trying to earn it… to earn you.”
The writing in this story left me speechless. I was captivated from the very first page. The author’s talent in writing is flawless in her very ability in tackling such a sensitive yet important topic today. The Hard Count is a testament to hope, to change, and most of all, a testament to love. The author truly shines in this novel as she weaves her readers through a story that is so relevant today. So relatable. I held on to every single word of the story. For the words held so much power. I was emotionally invested in this story. It gave me CHILLS. The sheer beauty of not only the story, but its’ characters will astound you. We need more books like this. Ones that push you. Challenge you. Reminds you of all the ugly in the world, while remembering how even in the dark times, there is light. Thank you to this author for writing this beautiful, heartfelt, resonating story. Nico has my heart forever.

Blog Tour: Aced by Ella Frank & Brooke Blaine - Bianca and Stacy's Reviews, Excerpt and #Giveaway @BrookeBlaine1 @EllaFrank2012
Ace Locke is Hollywood’s hottest action hero. Women across the globe fling their panties in his direction, but Ace isn’t interested in those—he’s more of a boxer briefs kind of guy. Specifically, those of the nearly naked male model on a billboard he drives past every day.
Though he recently made headlines for his public coming out, Ace is wary about pursuing a relationship, fearing what the court of public opinion will do to his career. But there’s something in the model’s expression that intrigues him and has him wondering what if?
Dylan Prescott just scored his biggest modeling campaign yet. One that has him plastered all over L.A. in not much more than what he was born with. And when he’s cast in Ace’s latest blockbuster, it puts him in close proximity to his ultimate fantasy.
Outwardly confident, Dylan has no problem with his sexuality or his pretty-boy looks, and uses both to his advantage to get what he wants. And what he wants is the impossible—Ace Locke.
From Ella Frank’s Sunset Cove series and Brooke Blaine’s L.A. Liaisons series comes a scorchingly hot novel that blends humor, passion, and romance.
What happens when these two worlds collide?
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Wow. These two did it again. I am absolutely blown away with just how much I was engrossed in this story. And I’ll be seriously rocking in a corner waiting (begging!) for book 2. These authors are easily top favorites of mine. But together? They are unstoppable.
Model Dylan Prescott has recently signed on for a huge modeling campaign. His drop dead gorgeous body is plastered all over L.A. His body is admired on a daily basis by famous actor Ace Locke as he drives by a billboard during his commutes. Circumstances allow these two to cross paths. Ace has recently come out, but one thing for sure is that he wants Dylan. Without a doubt. But he’s worried about his career. What others will think. The paparazzi follows him just itching to get a picture of him with a man. Can Ace really hide this? And how will this affect how Dylan feels about him?
Their secret relationship further deepens not only their connection, but their attraction to each other. There is something different about these two. While Ace is more reserved as he comes to terms with coming out, Dylan is bolder, and makes it obvious what he wants. Despite their differences, they are on fire for each other. They literally ignite the pages every time they are in each other’s presence. Their sexy times are off the charts. And when their world collides? It’s like time stops. They discover everything they were missing in life was each other.
There is so much that happens in this story. So much discovery made by these men about themselves. The story is deeper than just two hot men pining for each other. Aced slowly unravels and peels back layers to allow the reader to truly understand Ace and Dylan. We also get to see why these two find something in the other they have never experienced before. And what’s allowing them to pursue happiness now. I found the story to be brilliantly balanced with sex and humor.
The writing is seamless. It’s very hard to to tell this was even written by two different people as everything just flows and as a reader I got lost in their words. It was so hard to put this one down! I don’t think every author is meant to write as a duo, but these two executed the story effortlessly. It’s very rare that two authors not only collaborate on a story but allow their two worlds to combine. This book is a true testament to the unparalleled talent and writing skills that these two authors behold.
Aced is the book I never knew I needed. These two are explosive. Overwhelming. Addicting. Mesmerizing. Their feelings are raw. They are left open. Vulnerable. But doesn’t falling always come with a risk? SO excited for what’s to come with these two!
I fell in love when these two women wrote Sex Addict together, and I knew there was something special happening in the universe when they decided to combine their characters in Aced. This series can be read separately but trust me when I say you should read Ella Frank's Sunset Cove series and Brooke Blaine's L.A. Liaisons series. Not only are they great reads, but that's where you first meet the two hunks that are in Aced, Dylan Prescott and Ace Locke. And let me tell you, they are pure magic together.
Both guys seem extremely confident in who they are and are very assertive in their own respective lives. The part that really stuck with me is how Ace, who is easily the most popular A-list actor in Hollywood was able to be so vulnerable and strong at the same time. He's very straight forward and cocky, but he also has this side to him that you desperately want to learn more about. And Dylan is SO beyond perfect to be the one that gets to peel back those layers.
Dylan is a model who is trying to get his start in "the business" when he stumbles on a job that just happens to star the one and only Ace Locke. Ace has been the subject of many of Dylan's self-sessions if you know what I mean, and unbeknownst to him, he's been the same for Ace. So when these two finally come face to face you can only imagine the sexual tension resting just below the surface. And the chemistry is amazing! Dylan's personality is different than Ace's in the respect that he knows exactly what he wants and he's not afraid to go for it, he definitely has no filter and says what he means. I loved this dynamic between the guys so much, it really made for some good banter. GREAT banter, actually!
There are so many things you learn about Ace and Dylan and those little things really are what had me so intrigued with these two characters, just like Dylan had to wait and be patient with Ace, as a reader you get to go through that with both guys and it was so fun learning more about them. And can I just say you will also laugh your ass off reading this book, sure it's SEXY as hell, but some of the one-liners are so freaking funny.
A lot of the laughs I experienced came from some of the side characters.
Dylan's family is laughed out loud hilarious!! And I'm not over exaggerating
Ziggy, his dad, His mom- Sunshine, you'll learn about the names as you read, but trust me when I say how great they were! Paige and Shayne are also in here, and if you've read Brooke's L.A. Liaison series you already know how funny these ladies can be! They were all such a great addition to this story, there's nothing like a crazy family and some hilarious friendships to get you through life.
Aced is seriously a fantastic read, the writing was seamless and the chemistry between the characters was absolutely perfect, not to mention HOT, HOT, HOT! I can only imagine the blushing going on between these two Authors while writing some of these scenes! There is a cliffhanger which means there will be a second book so yay!!!! But don't worry, you won't want to bite your arm off or anything. It's a perfect cliffhanger by my standards and I love cliffys! This is definitely a must read!
“WAS THIS YOUR plan?” he asked, his voice low and husky. “Invite me over…get me in your bedroom…”
My racing heart could’ve answered that question for him it was beating so hard, and I almost wished it would, since being this close had every thought fleeing my brain. Especially when he leaned in like he was going to whisper in my ear, his words a silky breath across my chin.
“What happens next?” Dylan fingered the buckle of my belt, and I immediately reached down to still his hand.
“Hang on a second,” I said, and could feel my chest tightening at what he was implying. Jesus, I wanted this so bad, wanted him so bad, yet at the same time I was utterly terrified.
“No,” Dylan said, removing his hand from mine. I caught my breath as he slid his finger over the buckle once again. “Not this time. You have a nasty habit of starting things and never quite finishing them, Ace Locke.”
His teasing tone made me want to kiss the smirk off his face, but I was caught between all the things I wanted to do and everything I’d always held myself back from.
“Kind of like yesterday in your car. You corner me somewhere and then seem to think better of it.” As Dylan angled his head to the side, he slipped his fingers behind the buckle and took a step backward. “Why is that?”
His fingers had frozen in place, and I knew if I wanted anything else beyond this to happen, I needed to say something—and fast. So I said the first thing that came to mind: “Because you make me fucking forget myself.”
Clearly that answer was more than okay by the man whose fingers had now tightened around the top off my pants, because Dylan continued moving backward, this time drawing me with him until his back was against my bedroom wall and I was crowding him in.
“And this is a bad thing?” he asked, and even in the darkness of the room I knew his eyes were on mine.
“No…” I said, and took in a shaky breath before admitting, “It’s a dangerous thing.”
“So this”—Dylan pulled the end of my belt from its loop—“would be too dangerous.”
I cursed under my breath as he tugged my hips closer, and his other hand went to the side of my neck. His thumb grazed my lower lip, and instantly it took me back to the first time I’d seen him, seen that same thumb brushing against his lip, and I let out a soft moan.
“Just a taste,” he whispered, his head angling toward mine. “That wouldn’t be too dangerous. Right?” He didn’t wait for me to respond before his mouth skimmed the line of my jaw. As I held my breath, he planted light, feathery kisses down my neck, and I had to put a hand on the wall to steady myself.
“I think it’d be very fucking dangerous,” I said, but I didn’t move away. No way in hell was I going anywhere, no matter how many red flags were waving, telling me I was going too far. I wanted this, wanted him, and only the devil himself could drag me away.
Dylan’s lips left my neck and he leaned back to look me in the eye. “So stop me.”
I shook my head. “No.”

Kova turned around to face me, his broad shoulders pulled back, one hand propped on his hip and the other clenched around his water bottle. "Do you think you are the first gymnast to show wear and tear on their hands from bars? You are not in Palm Beach anymore, malysh—"
Kova visibly tensed, stopping short from his last word. Since I didn't speak a lick of Russian, I didn't have a clue as to what he said. But judging by the alarmed look on his face and the thick air between us, whatever he said couldn't have been good.
Snapping his head to the side, he cracked his neck. "I am not going to go light on you. Get used to it. Nobody said it was going to be easy, it only gets harder from here on out. You need to learn to toughen up and take it. Remember what I said earlier? Prove it to me. Every time you step foot into that gym—make it count. I do not care if your hands hurt or your back is sore or you are running on two hours of sleep. Prove it. Champions are not made by complaining. They are made by the endless pursuit of their dream despite the obstacles they are faced with. Push through it and do it."
I took a minute to let the weight of his words sink in. While an outsider would think they were laced with malice, I knew they weren't. That was the furthest thing from the truth. I knew he was pushing me to be better. Not only to prove it to him, but myself as well. Without a doubt, Konstantin Kournakova was one hundred percent right.
Slowly nodding, I looked into his eyes and said, "You're completely right, but I never expected you to go light on me. That's not what I wanted. That's not why I came here. I want the challenge. I want to be better. It's why I pour every ounce of blood and sweat into a sport that gives me so little in return. The truth is, I've never been challenged by a coach the way I have by you, so I'm learning to adjust to it." I held up my hands and showed him the bloody blisters threatening to pop under my palms. "You won't hear a complaint come from me again."
Kova's shoulders loosened and he blew out a ragged breath. His gaze openly traveled the length of my body, taking in every inch. The way his eyes pierced mine, like he was pleased with my response, made my heart rush against my chest with satisfaction.

Alice never fails to entertain the shit out of me! Her words are so funny without being cliche, it's almost like she writes these books catered to my personality. Cause I get it. I get all of her humour and i'll never get enough of it. I think she is brilliantly funny and a very talented story teller. And I ADORE Oscar and Natalie!
This book is so delicious! And I'm not only taking about hot Oscar or the delectable sweet sweet love between Natalie and him. All that damn cheese talk could make even this lactose intolerant girl want to run out and buy a big hunk of Brie!
Natalie is hilarious. She's confident. She's sexy and endearingly awkward when it comes to Oscar. She wants what she wants and gets it all. Oscar is the strong silent type. He's manly and smooth and no girl could ever pass up his "big barn".
"You have a great”—he paused for effect . . . pausing . . . pausing . . . still pausing—“big ass, and I can’t wait to see it bouncing on my dick" Yep, that's the ever romantic Oscar.
I expected to be bored with all the farm talk and cheese making, but wow, SURPRISE, I actually found it interesting. Not that I would know if any of it's true, but I'm sure it's got to be. It certainly isn't the boring ol getting to know you scene, like say, a bar? Cheese FTW!
If you are familiar with Alice, you'll love it. If you aren't familiar with Alice, go read book one in the series (Nuts) first, love that one, then come back and fall in love with Cream of the Crop too!

Jude. I have loved him from the very first time I met him in the first book of this series. He has so much heart and strength. I knew there was so much to his story we didn’t know. That he is a survivor. And words cannot express how much I truly enjoyed reading the story of this brave soul.
“Soph, I’d give you anything. But I don’t have a lot to give.”
Jude’s life forever changed when he crashed his car one unfateful night. Lives lost. Hearts shattered. Drugs were to blame and would forever leave an impact and change the trajectory of his life. He goes to jail. And his addiction continues. Years later, Jude leaves jail and gets sober. He is back in the same town that shuns him. Ready to start over. He is shocked when he runs into his one true love. His heart stops. His love for her never wavered. But their love? Their love is forbidden. She is not his to have. Not again. How can she love him when he broke her heart into a million pieces? In so many ways.
“I wore the memory of Sophie like an imprint on my soul.”
Jude and Sophie’s love is truly profound. Transcending. Despite obstacles and the forbidden nature of their love, they love without abandon. It is felt every time they speak. Their love is loud. Through the pain and heartache, there’s a push and pull between them. Love for them has never been easy, but its never faltered. There are some real and raw emotions in this book. The author pushes the envelope in so many ways. She challenges love. And it's resilience to stand strong in the face of darkness. And all that love can face and overcome. Love doesn’t see circumstance, just the person who’s heart it belongs to.
“Even when you’re not perfect, you’re still mine.”
Steadfast was such an honest depiction of someone that hits rock bottom with no light in sight. But worked so hard to live again. To love again. It will rock you to your core. It’s dark. Thought provoking. I commend the author seamlessly tackling such a relevant topic in today’s society. Jude is such a beautiful soul and I am so glad his story was told.
We first meet Jude in Bittersweet, where he was employed as a farm hand to help with his drug rehabilitation. After harvest season is done he decides to come back home to live with his alcoholic father and all too reminiscent town in which his addiction was formed. Jude's past is pretty dark, and his regrets run deep. Not only did he ruin his own life but he also devastated a whole family, including his Ex-girlfriend Sophie. This poor guy has been through so much, and the beginning of this book will absolutely put you in his shoes and make you feel his struggles and feel his strength through his vulnerability.
Jude and Sophie’s journey together is not an easy one, there are so many insecurities leftover from when Jude was gone, so many unknowns. The love was always present but Sophie felt abandoned and confused by Jude’s decisions, and Jude carried the huge weight of guilt on his shoulders from a life that was so precarious. So when these two see each other for the first time since their separation, sparks weren’t flying all over the place, in fact I think nerves were more present than anything. The chemistry was obvious but you just knew that their road to reconciliation wouldn’t be an easy one.
This is where I really connected with the story, Jude’s unlikely new relationship with Father Peters and his current friendship with my beloved Shipley family really brought the story together for me. I loved the camaraderie they shared in the first book, and I absolutely loved it again in this one. I think Jude needed them so much, and it was obvious the impact that they had on his healing process. The hardest part of the story was watching poor Sophie being stuck in time, ever since Jude left and the tragedy that left her family crippled, she just seemed to be stagnant and living her life without really living, and when her and Jude finally decided to be together they had to hide it from her hateful father.
The revelations towards the end of the book and some of the interesting twists and turns had my jaw dropping at some parts, and they brought so much to the story! I really like Sarina’s writing and the depth she brings to her characters is amazing! The ending had me smiling from ear to hear and I can’t wait to read more about these lovable characters AND Zach’s story in book 3, Keepsake!
