"This book has one girl and five bad boy rockstars. She owns them all—heart, body and soul. Don't read it unless you like to ugly cry…and also unless you like threesomes, foursomes…and moresomes."
This ^^^ is the warning at the beginning of the book, and that basically sums it up. Alone, broke and desperate. Lilith Goode is just trying to find a way to get to New York, when she stumbles across the path of a hot rocker guy who generously helps her out and confuses her with some sort of back stage pass winner to his show. The sexy stranger is mysterious and she has no clue what's going on, but with her situation she doesn't really have room to be choosey, so she goes along with it. I haven't read a lot in this genre but I read the blurb and was very intrigued so I thought it might be something that I would give a try. Pretty early on I realized that it wasn't really for me. However, I do know a ton of people who would love to read this book just because the warning said threesomes, foursomes & moresomes.
I knew from the warning that reading this book (or I assumed) there would be lots of sex, and there is. And it happens quickly with multiple partners, so if that's not your thing, heed the warning and move along because this book isn't for you. This girl has sex with three of the guys on the same night. The FIRST night. But I'm not going to slut shame her because if a guy can do it than so can she, in my head I was giving her a fictional high five and channeling Beyoncé. Get. Yours.
Pretty quickly we get to meet the male characters, Paxton, Ransom, Copeland, Muse & Michael. The story is told in first person with alternating POV's of all the characters, including each one of the five guys and Lilith, so you really get a feeling of what's going on in each of their heads and a thorough understanding why they make the choices they do.
I love the idea of a young woman finding her own independence while simultaneously being codependent on others. Not codependent in the sense where she's needy or she's beneath them, but that they're finding themselves within each other and growing stronger as individuals because of one another. Don't get me wrong, Lilith wasn't without flaw, she certainly had her whiney moments which were annoying, but her dad had just died and everyone mourns differently. Going on a road trip with a bunch of hot rockers and finding love and sensuality within that kind of atmosphere is unheard of, which pretty much makes this the ultimate fantasy. I thought I would really enjoy it l, and it's not that I didn't enjoy it because I must say that the writing in itself was fantastic. I want to make that clear, it was clever and smooth and it wasn't only there as a backdrop to the sex. You can tell that the author took her time in crafting a story that was both meaningful and steamy.
In the end, even though this book isn't something that I would normally read. I found it very entertaining and I appreciate the deeper meaning that I believe the author was trying to convey.
It was good, and I'll definitely recommend it to my friends who are into ménage and reverse harem books.
About The Author
C.M. Stunich is a self-admitted bibliophile with a love for exotic teas and a whole host of characters who live full time inside the strange, swirling vortex of her thoughts. Some folks might call this crazy, but Caitlin Morgan doesn’t mind – especially considering she has to write biographies in the third person. Oh, and half the host of characters in her head are searing hot bad boys with dirty mouths and skillful hands (among other things). If being crazy means hanging out with them everyday, C.M. has decided to have herself committed.
She hates tapioca pudding, loves to binge on cheesy horror movies, and is a slave to many cats. When she’s not vacuuming fur off of her couch, C.M. can be found with her nose buried in a book or her eyes glued to a computer screen. She’s the author of over thirty novels – romance, new adult, fantasy, and young adult included. Please, come and join her inside her crazy. There’s a heck of a lot to do there.
Oh, and Caitlin loves to chat (incessantly), so feel free to e-mail her, send her a Facebook message, or put up smoke signals. She’s already looking forward to it.
