Don’t judge me.
I am not what you see.
I am the opposite.
—Nadia’s lipstick note on Bo’s mirror.
Indie-rocker Bo Lindgren is worshiped for his looks and musical genius. It’s been lonely at the top since his ex left. Bo will never take a girlfriend again though, because he doesn’t have the chops to love. He knows he’s poison, a heartbreak waiting to happen for anyone he allows too close—like his ex. Bo screws his way through the fangirls until he’s sick of it all. Until the dark gaze of Nadia Vidal appears in the door to his dressing room.
Saved from an arranged marriage by Jude, the love of her life, Nadia eloped and got married at nineteen. But now, two years later, life is wilted, dead, and not what anyone should have to endure.
Nadia, with her secret-keeper eyes and instant understanding of who Bo is, attracts and fascinates him without even trying. The ring gleaming on her finger should keep them apart, but morals can’t always resist destiny.
When brokenhearted meets heartbreaker, whose heart is really at stake?
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I literally just swiped the last page on my kindle of this book. I finished with TEARS in my eyes. This book was moving, beautiful, and simply took my breath away.
“People change when they love and lose. They gain soul, they gain depth, and their colors glow richer without being louder. Bo harbors a a sadness I know well...”
Indie rock star Bo Lindgren has a lonely heart. Ever since his ex left, he’s never wanted to be close with anyone. He simply can't love and determined to not get to that level with another woman again. Until he meets Nadia Vidal. She understands him on a level he never knew he needed. He connects with her beyond the surface. He senses the same loneliness in Nadia. He sees it in her eyes. Feels it in her spirit. She is just as broken as he is. But he also recognizes that when they are together, darkness does not exist. Only light.
“But I’m going to extract every damn detail. I want to know everything about you. Nadia, you’re a mystery, a fucking million songs waiting to be written.”
Despite the attraction, Nadia cannot belong Bo. No. Her heart belongs elsewhere. But what happens when you recognize your soul in another? When everything you ever believed about love is no longer true? That you can love deeply, loudly. Bo never believed he was capable of love. Until Nadia. And Nadia believed she could never give her heart away as it belongs to someone else. Little did she know is that she never gave her heart away because it was always meant for Bo.
“I meant everything to her, and she meant more than most things to me. But that was it. I’m a walking heartbreak.”
Secrets. They tear things apart. They destroy. Secrets change things. But Bo and Nadia? These two are broken, beautiful, flawed. Love has caused them pain. But their love? It’s profound. It transcends. Their love is inspiring. Magical. You FEEL their love. Their love never wavered. It was never ending. Raw. This emotionally charged story takes a hold of you. While this is a rockstar romance, there is so much depth to their story.
“Her depths are smooth. She braves my frustration, my violence-my love.”
Don’t judge this book. No. You haven’t read it before. While the cover is sexy and the synopsis is alluring, this book is DEEP. It’s sensual. Beautiful. Overwhelming. The feels hit you before you even see it coming. And I am not just talking about any feels. I mean the kind that just captivates you. That literally puts you within the heart of the characters. The writing is poetic. POWERFUL. It draws you in. Word by word, the author brilliantly crafts her words in a way that consumes you. She effortlessly breathes her words into your heart. I felt like I was in the middle of the most beautiful, heartbreaking love song. The song that screams about love and all it encompasses. How love endures, heals, and wins. How patient love is, for the heart knows who it truly belongs to. And it will wait.
“What are you doing?”
“Memorizing how your face looks while I love you.”
I didn’t know what to expect. I went into this story blind. I’ve never read this author before. The synopsis grabbed me and something told me I needed to read this book. And I am SO glad I did. Walking Heartbreak is so much deeper than I could have ever imagined. It’s meaningful. Moving. It took me to a place I never saw coming. Walking Heartbreak. My heart is still beating over this story. OH THE WORDS. Stunning. I am simply blown away. I am not sure if my words can do this story any justice. I am vague on the plot as we are engrossed in Bo and Nadia’s story. To give any details away would be a disservice to the reader. Just know that you fall as they fall. In love. In emotions. In everything. Love never fails.
“Love exists. Love is patient.”
Three book besties who love to read and discuss books. We are addicted to all kinds of romance with Alpha Hero's, Kick-ass Heroine's and plenty of angst.
