Path of Thieves by Sunniva Dee
Publication Date: June 27th 2017
Genres: Contemporary, Young Adult
Football hero by day and thief by night, Charles “Cugs” McConnely leads a double life in the small town of Newbark, Florida. At sundown, the seventeen-year-old turns burglar, forced into the business by the man who should be teaching him the difference between right and wrong: his father.
Cugs is a pro at both games, but only one can secure him a college scholarship. It should be an easy decision, a no-brainer—if Newbark hadn’t proffered the only life he knows.
After run-ins with Nadine Paganelli, his accidental victim and the sole person to have caught him in the act, Cugs starts to realize that hearts can be stolen too.
When his long-lost sister makes contact, lies are uncovered and truths revealed. Suddenly, Cugs finds himself questioning both plans and loyalties. Because sometimes the only way to move forward is by pulling the bottom out of the past.
Charles (Cugs) McConnely grew up in the most unconventional way possible. His dad has taught him to steal since he was a young boy. Shopping is what he calls it. High school student and athlete during the day, criminal by night. After a couple run-ins with Nadine Paganelli, he befriends her. But there’s a connection there. Something deep and resounding. And despite the odd circumstances that have pulled them together, neither ends up doubting that they should explore just why they keep finding each other.
This is an unconventional yet, remarkable story. It’s multilayered and completely character driven. This is their story. This is Cugs’ journey. One that keeps the pages turning as the truth comes to light. Secrets unravel as Cugs navigates his complicated and unbelievable life. The connection between Cugs and Nadine is palpable and authentic. They come from opposite backgrounds, but both feel deeply, love fiercely, regardless of the circumstances they face. The author paints these characters in colors of impressive and inspiring strength.
Despite being YA, this story still had its Sunniva Dee feel. Her writing, poetic. Her characters magnetic. And the lyrical prose of this book simply mesmerizes the reader with the power in the words. Written with astonishing honesty that only this author can do, this is definitely a must read for those who love YA. This book speaks volumes. The author eloquently speaks through her characters and their story. There’s a vulnerability that is captured in YA that draws in readers, and the author achieved this as she effortlessly secures herself as an accomplished and skilled YA writer with this book. Written without apology, the characters unguarded and open, Path Of Thieves was a thought provoking and candid read about a boy and his unforgettable journey in finding his way.
“But please, Cugs.”
Is this what all boyfriends go through? Either way, I feel like my reasons to evade Nadine’s house are damn valid compared to most. For me, it’s not just about meeting the parents. It’s about returning to the scene of the crime. Not any old crime either, but a pivotal one, because I pulled Nadine down with me.
She could’ve returned to her law-abiding puppy-love guy with an awesome future if it weren’t for me being “it” to her. Yes, I feel bad sometimes. And no, I don’t always feel bad. Because most of the time I’m an asshole who thinks that I’m a lucky bastard for meeting her.
“Just come,” she says now, on the phone. “I get that you don’t want to meet my parents. But they’re nice and you’re nice too, and you guys would totally hit it off.”
“I shopped from them.”
“Stole. You didn’t shop.”
“Right.” Same difference.
“But that’s over and done with. We’ve got great insurance, and you actually made them a few bucks.”
“Wow. That makes shopping better in your world?”
“It’s not shopping, Cugs. And nope, it’s messed up, but you always bottle stuff up, and I need you to at least let this go.”
I thump to the mattress of my bed.
“Cugs? You there?”
“Uh-huh. How about fight night instead?”
She huffs. “I want to show you something. I wanted it to be a surprise too, until you could see it in person, but you’re making it freaking hard.”
I groan and press two fingers against my forehead. “When were you thinking?”
“You’re free tomorrow during the day, right?”
“Hmm. Not sure.”
“You said you were.”
“Fine! I’m free tomorrow. Happy?”
I get no reply. Crap, I should have Face-timed her. “Cute” expressions go a long way when it comes to appeasing girlfriends. “Nadine.”
She exhales into the phone.
“Come on. Talk to me.”
“I’m sorry, okay? It’s just—I love you, and I hate it when we don’t agree.”
Her breath hits the receiver first. “Come tomorrow at lunch, then. No one’ll be at home. Can you do that? For me?”

My name is Lucy Tucker, and my life…it was perfect.
I worked the dream job. I had the most incredible family and friends. My home, Whispering Willows, a ranch in Montana, was everything I could ever wish for. My adoring fiancé, Samuel Stone, loved me unconditionally.
I had everything a girl could ever want.
But one fateful event shattered my perfect life. It’s unimaginable how simple, ordinary words can change a person’s life forever. For me those words were, “There’s been an accident.”
I thought Sam was my forever, but that forever came to a close the day Saxon Stone, Sam’s identical twin brother, came back. Saxon returned to Montana to help save Sam, however, the moment he entered my life, he turned my world upside down. But through chaos I somehow found clarity—clarity of who I was meant to be.
As time progressed, as seasons changed, and as a fire began to burn, I soon realized that Saxon was there for another reason…he was there to help save me.
Amazon Paperback: bit.ly/FYFMAmazon
ucy Tucker was living the life. She loved her job and her family was everything she wanted in life. She was about to get married. Until one moment stole her happiness. An accident. Sam Stone was everything her heart desired. She’s loved him for as long as she could remember. So that one moment shattered her heart to pieces. Unsure of Sam’s future, she can only hope for the best even when faced with the worst circumstance of the unknown. When Sam’s identical brother, Saxon, comes to save his brother, her world is thrown into a complete spiral that no one saw coming.
“Every scar means you were stronger than whatever tried to beat you.”
Despite the chaos in Saxon’s presence, Lucy funds peace. It’s unnerving as it is intoxicating. Their connection is palpable. I refuse to give any of this story away. Any pre-conceived notions about this story and how it unravels should be dismissed. This is not the type of story you’ve read before. Messy, yet beautiful. Heartbreaking but the storyline bewitches you. The characters, magnetic. Their story? Profound.
The writing? Electrifying. Consuming. Absolutely breathtaking. Nothing is off limits. Everyone is vulnerable. Emotions are raw. She takes risks with this book. There is a beauty in the complexity of this story line and the characters. I think this is what separates this author from everyone else. Her characters are unguarded. She writes without abandon. She puts her all in every word and twist to this story. She pushes and pulls her readers to experience every moment. I continue to be in awe of her ability to masterfully create such a multifaceted story. No one could have ever executed this deeply compelling story in the way that she did. Her talent is simply unmatched.
Forgetting Me, Forgetting You is an unforgettable read. I am counting the days until the author releases the second book. I am usually one to wait until a series is released to read, but not this time. Do yourself a favor and do not wait. I’ve been looking for a story to blow me away. One to keep me turning the pages. This is it. I know I am vague on the details, but this is one every reader should experience within the depth of this book. Stunning and unexpected, this can easily be placed as one of my top reads this year.
“Let’s pretend tomorrow doesn’t exist.” Pressing his forehead to mine, he earnestly says, “Whatever happens now, it’ll just be memories from yesterday.” I can feel the tremble rumble throughout his entire body, and his uncertainty leaves me abandoning any lingering doubts. For this stolen moment in time, I just want to…feel.
Gently pushing on his bare, solid chest, he allows me to climb onto his lap as he nestles into the rocky terrain. Without a second thought, I wrap my legs around his waist and hold on tight, with no intention of ever letting go. His chest is rising and falling so quickly, I’m certain I can hear his heart hammering wildly within his body. The cadence matches mine as I seal my mouth around his. The touch of his full lips pressed to mine is complete perfection. But when he angles my mouth at the perfect slope and skillfully tangles my tongue with his, I know that this is nirvana.
The kiss at first is slow, like a roller coaster beginning its incline. But as we reach the pinnacle, it’s an exhilarating head rush of fast, breathtaking passion. When he senses me coyly opening up, lowering my guard and losing myself in the moment, he growls into my mouth. He dominates me with a fierce desire and in this moment, I am his.
I can’t keep up with the frantic pace, and finally, I surrender all I am. I allow him total control, melting when he sucks my bottom lip with a long, wet pull. I madly fuse our lips together, unable to get enough of this heady feeling, needing him to consume me, devour me, make me whole.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
“Find the sunshine…”
You ever start a book and know that it’s about to change everything? You think its your typical boy meets girl. They fall in love. You learn quickly that this is not the case. As the story unravels, so does your heart.
“Like a book that’s never read, the emotions are lost unless given weight and breath and voice.”
Nikolai (Nik) Alexei Young has a gift. He feels emotions of others on a level that completely consumes his life. Emotions are revealed to him in color and and light. He meets Fiona Starling, a girl coasting through life trying to forget the pain of her past. They agree to a night. Just one. But just that one night changes everything. That one night becomes so much more. That one night neither can say goodbye to. Both of these lost and beautiful souls have secrets. Secrets that could unravel everything they have up until this point. A connection neither one of them can explain is threatened by the weight of their secrets.
“This feeling right now?”
“Do you feel it?”
Nik and Fiona are not blinded by their future commitments, but in the present they know they have something. So they agree to explore this connection knowing of its temporary status. Their compelling story is not for me to tell in any detail. It is for the reader to experience narrated by these characters. They both fight demons that no one else can see. They harbor pain for something beyond their control. But in the presence of the other, there is peace. Disorder and unrest becomes absent. But what happens when the truth unravels?
“Until I met you, Fiona. I don’t know why, but you’re the only person who can silence the cacophony.”
Exhilarating. Poignant. Moving. THIS. BOOK. It’s message inspiring. A true testament to finding love in the darkest places. Exquisitely written. Devastatingly beautiful, this tumultuous and daring love story is life changing. It challenges love in all its aspects. I was left completely spellbound. The love between Nik and Fiona is chaos in it’s most beautiful form. Their love is palpable. Felt on every page. Every look. Every touch. You have no choice but to become deeply enthralled by these characters. Their love is magic in it’s purest form. Bewitching. Powerful. They love with a ferocity that will overwhelm you to understand how a love like theirs could prevail.
“Yeah, Fiona. It’s loud out there, like I said. In here? With you? In here, it’s quiet.”
There is so much that this book speaks to that I cannot even begin to describe. The depth of this story is felt through its deeply moving words and emotions. Its power lies in the souls of Nik and Fiona.
Emma Scott’s characters are painted with vibrant colors. They are truly extraordinary. Electrifying. To say I am moved by the power of the words crafted by this skillful author, and their existence would be an understatement. The author has written with purpose. These characters give weight to her words. Weight. This entails that her words are written with substance and depth. Her words are written with meaning and resolve. This is the author who always gives a voice to those silenced by their circumstance. To the unloved and unwanted. To those that strive to live in the darkness. You are heard. I see you. As Nik and Fiona suffered through their trials in silence. And even as loudly as they loved without words, I heard them.
“I want to walk in the sunshine with you.”
The breath of life in this story and in the characters is seen by the beauty in their actions. Tormented, forgotten, these two lost souls felt a unequivocal connection the moment they meet. But it doesn't stop there. There is no insta love. It's the soulful kind. Their circumstances should’ve made them stay away. But like magnets, they were tethered to each other. But isn’t that what love does? It makes you brave? Doesn't love fight to stay where it belongs? Their love did. And more. Their love was chaos, yet unyielding. Treacherous. But isn't love worth that fall? Their love is strength. Undaunting. Bold and valiant. Enthralling and phenomenally written, Sugar & Gold is easily one of my most unforgettable reads this year.
About the Author
Emma Scott writes romances with flawed characters, characters with artistic hearts: builders, poets, and writers of various makes and models. Emma loves to write book lovers; those who have found refuge, companionship, and escape in books, much as we all do in real life. She digs realism, honesty, authenticity in storytelling. She also loves to write about enduring love, soul-deep love, in as real a setting as possible, but with big smooshy HEAs. Emma believes in diversity, open-mindedness, and inclusion. She adores sweetness mixed with steam, love conquering all, and above all, hope. Love always wins.

When Life Happened by Jewel E. Ann

Genre: Contemporary Romance

“Today is my favorite day.”
Parker Cruse is a young twenty-something woman who has just moved out on her own from her parents, she's young, slightly immature, and doesn't make the best choices. When she caught her boyfriend cheating on her with her twin sister, she thought it would be a great idea to ruin their wedding in the grandest way possible. I'm not going to lie, it was pretty hilarious. I wasn't sold on Parker in the beginning of the book because so many things she did annoyed me, but she seemed to mature as the book went along and I can appreciate character development like that.
“…my touch is the only one that will ever matter.”
Humor- one of the first things I notice about Jewel's books are the humor in them. Whether it be a darker more complex story or a lighter romantic comedy, jewel always manages to deliver her classic humor and quick wit into every character. It's one of my most favorite things about her as an author, especially since our real lives are infused with humor every day, why shouldn't our books be? All I have to say about this is "pony scene". If you've read it, you get it. I laughed so damn hard! I'm laughing just thinking about it. If you haven't read it, do that, and you'll understand why Jewel's humor makes any book such a unique experience. Her mind is such a special place. This book had me laughing out loud so many times, the banter was hilarious!
“Did you check your vulva? Maybe you’re in heat.”
Rage/Love- Often, the second thing I feel when I read a Jewel book! Just kidding, this doesn't happen in every Jewel book, but in this book, YUP. HOW? How in all the crazy hell does an Author do this?!? It's NUTS. I'm officially perplexed. Like one minute I'm yelling and acting all stabby, and the next minute I'm all bunny rabbits and kittens. This book should be in a new genre-- the contemporary/bi-polar/romance genre. Because as crazy as I'm acting while reading it, I'm gonna need some horse tranquilizer to get through this. <--- All true things that happened while reading.
“If I can’t love you, then I’m just going to love everything about you.”
This is a long book and let me tell you before I knew it I was halfway through and then, before I knew it I was finished! It was addictive and kept me glued to the page, there is so much going on in the first half of the book that you don't realize that by the time you get to the second half of the book, you're starting almost a completely different story. It's crazy! I'm not mentioning the male characters for a reason, because if I do that will basically ruin the whole plot for anyone who hasn't read it. But, there are two men in Parker's life, and both of their individual stories are as unique and beautiful as this book as a whole. So much happens to Parker throughout this book and it's a beautiful thing to see a character grow in such a way.
"For the tiniest moment, she let herself wonder if everything in her life to that point had truly led her to him."
Jewel has a way of taking her readers on a journey that is unforgettable. And with this book that journey was hard, and rigid and ended on beautiful notes. When life happened is the most perfect title for this book because the simplicity and complexity of those three words hold more meaning than one would think. When I was finished reading I sat there for a minute and just stared at my ceiling with tears in my eyes, because I felt so consumed by this beautiful story. It moved me so much, and it will stay with me forever. This is a book everyone needs to read!
“I’m afraid of having everything that means nothing and nothing that means everything.”
“You … you tried to seduce me.” Anger fueled her fight, overriding how terrified she felt being feet from naked Gus.
He laughed. That fed her anger even more.
“I wasn’t seducing you. I was making a point.” He slipped on a white T-shirt.
“Bullshit. I was there.”
“Precisely. Then you should know that I wasn’t seducing you.” He grabbed her shoulders and steered her away from the entrance to his closet.
She turned, relieved to find him dressed. “I felt you.” Her eyes narrowed.
He smirked. “You did, did you?”
Heat spread up her neck and burned her cheeks. Discussing Gus’s erection in his bedroom with Sabrina out of town qualified as the most inappropriate conversation she had ever had. “You’re such an ass. Just tell me why?”
Twisting his lips to the side, he narrowed his eyes. “You’re young. You think the world is so black and white. In your fairy-tale world, love is a magic wand spreading trails of glitter and granting happily ever afters.”
Parker stepped closer, knowing the lion could pull her into his den. “I don’t believe in fairytales.”
“No?” He shrugged. “Then I guess I made my point.”
“I don’t get your stupid point!” Her fingernails dug into her hands as she clenched them.
Gus leaned forward, putting them at eye level. She held her ground, even though his proximity made her body tremble.
“Someone cheated on you. And you’re so fucking mad about it because you can’t understand it. But love is an emotion that resides in your head and your proverbial heart. It has to be nurtured to grow or it dies. But … desire … it’s instinctual. Physical. Carnal. And when it wants its way, your brain shuts down and the only heart you hear is that blood-pumping organ in your chest. A slave to your desire, readying your body to do one thing and one thing only …” He leaned into her ear and whispered, “Get. Off.”
August Westman proved he was the devil. Parker became the worst possible version of herself in his presence. He drugged her with his words, pulled her under with his confidence, and stole her innocence with a whisper.

Title: Love My Way
Author: Kate Sterritt
Genre: Romance/Women's Fiction
Release Date: May 31, 2017
Her name is Emerson Hart and she is the love of his life.
Unfortunately, he's not the only love of hers.
And therein lies the problem.
This author is a new author to me and she writes so vividly and so bright. She portrays her characters in such a unique and beautiful way that it's hard to look away from the page. The character development is great and I just wanted to soak up all the words, it makes you feel like the author is an artist herself and she's just relaying that to the reader, and that felt very organic and really cool. This story is so refreshing and at the same time, brimming with poignancy throughout the whole book. I could feel the heartbreak just below the surface and the angst of the unknown gets me EVERY. TIME. I couldn't look away.
Emerson is an artist and the author takes you through such a kaleidoscope of words, through her childhood and her more difficult adult life. We go through past and present and she shares a little piece of her journey while she was a young girl meeting a young boy and sharing something very special together. What would seem like normal things like fishing and placing pebbles in the ground, catapults to another level and takes you on this beautiful journey of understanding these characters worlds. The past is young love at its finest and the present is the hard realities of life, temptation, and hope. The way these two worlds were combined was absolutely captivating. I could not put it down! Emerson tells us stories with no words and this author takes those stories and transforms them into a stunning story that had me aching to see if this artwork was real. Does it exist somewhere? Because I'm dying to see it, that's how transformative the writing is. Simply amazing.
Emerson has two men in her life. And the complexity of that and what they mean to her are just that. Complex. There are so many different nuances and subtle twists and turns, and I can't reveal what I'm feeling completely because I don't want to spoil this book. Because EVERYTHING that happens is meaningful and connected to a different part of Emerson's story. It's like a puzzle that slowly gets revealed through ah-ha moments and tears and content smiles. As a reader, this is everything I wanted in a book and more. I cried for these characters and rooted them on and my investment to them is solid and real. It's not often a book moves me in such a way, but this book did. I actually felt my chest aching at one point and all I could mutter was unintelligible sounds. I didn't want an HEA for a specific couple, which is a first for me. I mean yes, I was rooting for someone specific, but I wanted an HEA for Emerson because I felt SO connected to her character. I wanted her choices to be made for HER and her alone and I LOVE that I felt that way. I crave to feel that way!
So thank you Kate Sterritt, for your beautiful words and intoxicating story. Your book gives me hope that I will continue to read GREAT books in the future. PLEASE everyone read this book! You will not be sorry, and if you aren't as moved as I am, I'd be in shock. 5 SHINING STARS!

The invisible girl only he could see.
The woman who wanted to be more.
He was the mark.
The extraordinary cowboy who stole my sixteen-year-old heart.
The damaged man who still owned it, even four years later.
The Line was where we began.
Where fates collided.
Where truths derailed.
The place where our love story ends.

This is my first book by this author and certainly not my last. Her words grabbed me from the first page. Her characters bewitched me. I needed to read more. I wanted to know their story. And I am so glad I did.
Everly Woods and Cole Briggs met one night. A night where just for a minute, Everly didn’t seem invisible. Someone saw her. A night where Cole saw a broken girl and had no idea that just one small kind action would change everything. Fast forward four years and fate brings them together again. Except that their circumstances are different. A little less broken, Everly remembers Cole and the night that changed the trajectory of her life. And while the drop dead gorgeous cowboy looks all put together, he has a past. One that unravels as we go deeper into their story.
Everly and Cole are a testament to the talent of this author. Compelling and complex, they simply astounded me with their strength. Powerful and addicting, this story had a perfect balance of mystery that kept me turning the pages. I cannot tell you their story for this is one you live in rather than read. The connection between them is overwhelming. Palpable. There is an authenticity about Cole and Everly that I cannot put into words. This is to be more than read, this is a story to experience.
The writing was flawless as the author seamlessly moved the reader though past and present scenes. This is a talent and not many can effortlessly pull this off. She has this incomparable way of narrating a story. Placing you with her characters until you have no choice but to be completely engrossed in their story. Beautifully written and purposefully executed, this is a book I highly recommend.
The Line was a deep burning romance that rendered me speechless. Compelling and poignant, I was simply blown away by the sheer beauty in this story. The bravery of these characters and their human spirit was riveting as it was inspirational. It was a story that reminds us that even at our deepest and darkest moments, we are all worthy of love .

Author: Jessica Hawkins
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: May 22, 2017
If I closed my eyes, I could still see them—all blonde sunshine, ocean-blue eyes, and long limbs. The glint of Lake’s gold bracelet. Pink cotton candy on Tiffany’s tongue. My scenery may have changed from heaven to hell, but some things never would: my struggle to do right by both sisters. To let Lake soar. To lift Tiffany up. The sacrifices I made for them, I made willingly.
A better man would’ve walked away by now, but I never claimed to be any good. I only promised myself I’d keep enough distance. If I’d learned one thing from my past, it was that love came in different forms. You could love passionately, hurt deep, die young. Or you could provide the kind of firm, steady support someone else could lean on.
Lake was everything I wanted, and nothing I could ever have. I was nobody before I knew her and a criminal after. The way to love her was to let her shine—even if it would be for somebody else.
Book two in the Something in the Way series, an epic, 3-book saga of forbidden love...
"Her innocence and simplicity defied the chaos in my head"
WORST-BEST book hangover EVER.
That was so cruel. Or was it? Maybe it was. I don't know!!! When I first finished the story, I was mad, really mad like super-ragey-angry-mad, I was basically all of the emoji faces all at once, especially the one with snot fuming out of its nose. Because that was me. I was crying, pacing, yelling and probably looking like a damn fool. Thank god I don't have a nanny cam because that wouldn't be pretty to watch. You know it's a great book when you need a support group full of like-minded individuals just to help you through the next five months. After I let all my emotions sink in, like REALLY sink in, I'm still an emotional wreck-4 days later! Between all the different conspiracy theories and scenarios running through my head, I'm an absolute mess and I couldn't be happier about it because I have faith in the process, and If book one didn't cement Jessica Hawkins in my heart, this sure as hell did. So thank you Jessica, for making me crazy and happy and miserable and ALL THE THINGS. Every book should fuel this kind of fire in its readers. EVERY. BOOK.
"I didn’t see these other girls and feel stirred the way I did for Lake, but at that moment, I wished it was anyone but her. I wished I’d never fucking met her. I just didn’t wish it enough to walk away for good."
As I let the story settle in a little more I realized that I was probably feeling all of the emotions that this author wanted me to feel. I'm pretty sure this is the effect that every author wants to have on his or her readers. However, not every author can achieve that, and Jessica did, TENFOLD. I really feel like I read a book that captured the essence of young love and the forbidden fantasy of what we can't have. I remember young love well, it's tragic and heart-wrenching and it's littered with vividly beautiful moments that are unforgettable. And that's a perfect way to describe this book. Will I die waiting for book 3? Not technically I hope, but yes, this will be a torturous 5 months because I have been profoundly moved by this series.
“You think I don’t know how you feel? You think I don’t carry the burden of our love on my shoulders just to keep it from crashing down onto you?”
We start this story right where the first book left off, and we get Manning's point of you for a lot of the book, which is as scary as it is nice because there's no way in hell that I want his mind on Tiffany! And let me tell you, there's a lot of Tiffany. SO. MUCH. TIFFANY. I'm not going in to the what's and why's of how I feel about Tiffany, or what happened because one, I don't want to spoil anything. And two, I don't really want to spend my time talking about that wench.
"She would be mad, but she couldn’t deny the unshakeable truth about Manning and me—this story was ours."
There's not actually much I can talk about without spoiling so I'll just continue with how I feel. I'm mad, I'm so mad, but I'm also extremely hopeful. I swear this book made me bi-polar, like why is this happening!?! All I feel is grief and anxiousness and pain and it hurts. If you want to read a book that will hold your attention and make you breathless and shatter you in complicated young-love glory than READ THIS BOOK.
“Even if all that’s true, you’re forgetting one thing. You can love me more than anyone else could. How can you ignore that?”
Manning is trying to make the right decision with his life by doing right by both Lake and Tiffany. And I firmly believe that everything he does is out of careful consideration and adoration for Lake, but then we have Tiffany and he obviously has adoration for her as well. I understand Lake, but why Tiffany!? Ugggh just talking about her makes me itchy and uncomfortable. PLUS, the way Tiffany treats Lake is downright wrong. Like dude, that's your little sister, you're supposed to protect her and love her and pick her up when she's down, not kick her when she's down!
There are very few books that I can say all of these things about and still give it a 5 star review. Like I've never been so mad reading a book but I still freaking loved it!!! How does that even happen?! Jessica Hawkins is a sorceress I know it. It's as if she left a piece of her soul in different parts of this book for each reader to take and keep with them, like a literary souvenir so we can never forget the magic of this story and discover the profound enormity of love within its pages. Because that's what the underlying message is here, in my opinion. That love is hard and angry and all-consuming and unpredictable. And I can't wait to read book 3 to see where all of that love goes. Hands down, this is my favorite series this year.

Jessica Hawkins grew up between the purple mountains and under the endless sun of Palm Springs, California. She studied international business at Arizona State University and has also lived in Costa Rica and New York City. To her, the most intriguing fiction is forbidden, and that's what you'll find in her stories. Currently, she resides wherever her head lands, which is often the unexpected (but warm) keyboard of her trusty MacBook.

Matthew Bennett has suffered the worst sort of betrayal a man can ever know, and he’s trying to put his life back together after years of unhappiness and emotional neglect. He desperately needs the care and devotion of a good woman, someone who will not only erase the hurt he’s experienced, but help him cope with the tremendous stress and responsibility he endures daily as the CEO of a multibillion dollar corporation.
Through the yoga classes that she teaches, and her successful massage practice, Sasha Fonseca spends her days helping others improve their health and wellbeing, and also learning to combat stress. She leads a simple but serene life, content with the little she has, but shies away from any sort of long term commitments or serious relationships. Her unconventional upbringing has also made her fiercely independent, and she won’t let anyone try to mold her into something she’s not ever again.
Sasha is enlisted to help Matthew in a professional capacity, but it isn’t long before she finds herself drawn to him on an emotional and physical level as well. With a woman like Sasha in his life, Matthew finally believes he’s found the happiness that’s eluded him all these years. But will his scheming, soon-to-be ex find a way to destroy him once again, or will he get the happy ending that he deserves?

Multibillionaire CEO, Matthew Bennett is trying to move on from years of unhappiness. He’d been tied to a woman who’s been nothing but a burden. He plans to be the best father he can be, but he can no longer stay in a loveless marriage. His intense work schedule is stressful and he is held highly accountable for its continuing success. That’s where Sasha Fonseca comes in. Recommended by his friends, she is a highly regarded yoga instructor who also practices massage therapy. When he’s told about Sasha and how she could help relief his stress, he doesn’t know that this is the same woman where he connected to some time ago. The woman that gave him reasons to think a little deeper. Only then, everything was a bit different.
“And I think the first time we met that I knew somehow you would be the one to save me.”
Matthew and Sasha remain professional until they realize their connection becomes undeniable. I won’t say much about how this develops, but please know this is a slow burn romance in THE best way possible. The author is skilled in the way she executes this story. She never tells you about their feelings. The allows you to feel their words. To live them. After some time, they can no longer put up this façade and they give in to their desires. Matthew can no longer be a client. The boundaries set were easily overshadowed by the yearning for each other. Matthew has a past, while Sasha only knows how to be fiercely independent. His love is tender and passionate. Her love is guarded until there’s simply no holding back. She loves unconditionally. Something Matthew didn't think was ever possible. Little do they know that their past threatens to dismantle everything they’ve worked to build between them.
“That ache you feel?”
“That’s love, Sasha. I know because I’m feeling exactly the same thing right now. But it’s a good ache. One that will always remind us of how much we love each other.”
I was in awe of the strength of these two characters. Vulnerable yet strong. While Matthew made hard choices, it truly showed the protective and compassionate part of him. Can Sasha continue giving herself to a man who is obviously stretched so thin? So much happens with these two. Their love story isn’t easy. But what true love story is? There are circumstances that shakes them to the core of their relationship. Everything they’ve built comes to a heart stopping halt. Decisions are made. Hearts are broken. But their love always remains.
Although this story is a bit lighter than her other books, I found it no less inspiring. Because that’s what Janet Nissenson’s writing does to you. She writes with meaning. With purpose. Sensual and compelling, this magnificent story is one that must be read! I’ve said this many times, but she is truly master at her craft of romance writing. Her refined prose never goes unnoticed as she navigates her reader through a story that reminds you that in love there is a gamble. You trust the person with your heart. This story is a true testament to love being the most frightening yet exhilarating risk a person can take.
Serenity is a wonderful addition to this series. With an engaging storyline of how opposites attract, the author brilliantly produced an unexpected love story against some challenging circumstances. It was a perfect blend of romance balanced with second chances and forgiveness. As expected, with this book, the author gave us a story with a lesson: to be fearless and honest in love. At all times. Phenomenally written and heartfelt, Serenity is certainly one of the most fascinating stories I’ve read all year.
About the Author

He dared me to try.
I dared him to love.

4 years later...
Omggggggg how I've missed these two men. I mean, they will always be one of my favorite couples in ALL of the romance genres, but revisiting them again after all this time was the best gift EVER!! I read EVERY word, no skimming because WHO WOULD DO THAT?! Like seriously, if you don't soak up every word of this book, I question your sanity because hello, it's Logan and Tate!
We started this journey with Logan and Tate four years ago, when they first crossed paths and broke through barriers to start a beautiful journey together, I also joined on this journey with them as a reader. So it's kind of crazy that Tease takes place literally four years after the first book was released.
With both Logan and Tate's careers at their peak, they're feeling pulled too much in the wrong direction. Realizing how hard it is to make their relationship a priority, they make strides to rectify this immediately! It's hilarious how after all this time that Logan is still surprised at the fact that Tate knows him so well, like he's shocked that he's still in a committed relationship. His insecurities still linger just below the surface and Tate handles him SO well. They really are perfect for each other, like when bossy Tate comes out it makes Logan crazy(in the best way!) and I just ADORE how balanced they make each other!
Omg can this woman write a sex scene or what?! Talk about the best slow burning, sensual, sexy as hell, hot and bothered thing you will read between two people! The pure carnal desire that these two have for each other is like some sublime force that will never die and never get old. Never. Ever. Tate with his silky curls and Logan and his smart mouth, and their sexy banter filled with sexual innuendos and puns. NEVER. GETS. OLD.
All of the characters you know and love are back, along with some we don't love so much, and some newbies too! We get to really see who they are today and how they've grown and evolved, and how that intertwines with Logan and Tate's life present day. One of these moments was extremely emotional for me and that just proves what the power of a fictional story can do for a very real life, I was surprisingly moved by a certain scene and I found it to be very therapeutic for me personally. And I think with this book specifically, that will happen for a lot of readers for several different reasons. That's why I love books so much, because reconnecting with these characters feels just like coming home.
When Ella Frank announced that we were getting THREE more books in the Temptation series, I just about had a heart attack, and I cried tears of joy, like legitimate tears running down my face. Tease was done SO well, and in my opinion, was a great beginning of a continuation-story that promises to be a great ride! I'm beyond excited to see what the next book in the series has to offer us lucky readers. So thank you Ella, for taking me back to my happy place with Logan and Tate, it was such a warm comfy place to be (and totally hot too). True fans of these guys will absolutely devour this book, and you should because it's AMAZING and wonderful and ALL the adjectives.
I will never forget when my best friend told me I needed to TRY, a new book she loved. That book happened to be the first in the series. My FIRST M/M. It changed EVERYTHING for me. I saw love in a way I never thought possible. I had no idea that love existed so deeply. I learned that love was hard, never easy, but it also was the best risk in life. No matter the circumstances. Logan and Tate? They have remained with me. YEARS later. I’ve never forgotten them. Never wanted to. Never could. So this continuation? This book? This series? It felt like home.
“I love you so damn much. I can’t believe there was ever a time when I didn’t.”
The story takes place four years after the last book, Trust. Logan and Tate are now an established couple. A couple that have been through trials and tribulations. They’ve faced adversity and heartbreak in every sense of the word. But those barriers made their love stronger. Their challenges were nothing short of a testament to the depth of their love and devotion to each other. At this time, they are both at the height of their careers. Busy with little to no time for each other, they do not want to get into this kind of routine. So they make time for each other…in the way they know how.
“Where else would I be? You’re where my heart is. So that’s where I stay.”
I was absolutely captivated by this book. I never wanted to put it down. Just when you think their story is over, this book comes along and simply astounds you with the depth of reverence that exists between these two. Their story is far from over. So much more is to come. As we are caught up on the lives of Logan and Tate, there are some characters I won’t mention that we also get updates on. I cannot simply tell you about this story. It’s one that must be experienced first hand. I love that the author does not bring up unnecessary drama. The story flows effortlessly.
“And just so we’re clear, we’re not talking about you on your knees worshipping me until I shout, ‘Oh my God’.Are we?”
I’ve said this before, but seriously? Miss Ella Frank you SLAY me with your words. Your talent to execute a passionate, heartfelt, yet intense story is simply unmatched. Can never be duplicated. I am forever in awe of your innate ability to write love in its most raw yet purest form. Logan and Tate have never been steamier. And you know just how HOT these boys are. The author stays true to this. Their love and adoration takes them to a whole different level in their most intimate moments. But nothing is perfect in love. Insecurities are explored and addressed. But their love? It’s never questioned.
“Forever’s a long time.”
“What? Worried you couldn’t put up with me for that long?”
“No. I’m worried it won’t be long enough.”
Will there seriously be enough words for me to truly make clear just how much I loved this book?! Tease was simply EVERYTHING. Logan and Tate, I’ve missed them so much. Their love is inspirational. It reminds you to love loudly. Deeply. Without regard. I love that the author is allowing us to reconnect with these two again. Stimulating and erotic, the continuation of this series is everything your heart could ever dream of. I cannot adequately describe my excitement for what’s to come. Well done, Ella!
“Hello, counselor. How’d the big case go today?”
Tate had been eyeing the clock all afternoon waiting to hear the outcome of the Berivax trial, and while he was happy it was finally going to be over, he also hoped all of Logan’s hard work had paid off.
“When was the last time we had sex?” Logan’s question was so blunt and unexpected it had Tate stumbling over his response for a second, and when he didn’t answer, Logan continued, “You don’t know, do you?”
The side of Tate’s mouth twitched at Logan’s disgusted tone. “Well, to be fair, you caught me off guard. I had to think for a minute.”
“And now that you’ve had time to think?”
“Oh my God. You can’t remember,” Logan said, and Tate couldn’t stop his laugh then. “That’s fucking shameful.”
“We’ve just been—”
“Don’t say it—”
“—busy.” Tate headed over to the door that separated the bar from the tiny foyer and stairwell that went up to their loft, shut it behind himself, and took a seat on one of the steps. “Well, we have been. This case of yours has taken up most of your time, and with the bar hours we just got…busy.”
“Yeah? Well, that shit needs to stop. Right now.”
Tate leaned his shoulder against the wall and shut his eyes, picturing Logan with his jet-black hair, those piercing blue eyes, and that full, sensual mouth. Tate had barely had time to say goodbye to him this morning, and no matter how much he was laughing it off, Logan was right—this not seeing one another was bullshit. They needed to sit down and work something out, now that Logan’s schedule would be returning to something more manageable.
“Agreed,” Tate said. “Something needs to change.”
“Good. How about we discuss it at dinner?”
Tate winced. “I’m here until one.”
“Can’t you beg Amelia to stay and come meet me?” Logan asked, and if he hadn’t sounded quite so desperate, Tate might not have caved.
“What am I going to get if I come to you?”
Logan’s voice lowered to a tone that never failed to make Tate hard. “Me. All night. And maybe again in the morning. I’m in a giving kind of mood.”
Tate swallowed and stretched his legs out in front of himself, suddenly needing a little more room in his jeans. “All night, huh? It’s been a while since that happened.”
“It has. So come find me and I’ll rectify that little issue you’re having with remembering our weekend away at the cabin. That was the last time my cock was inside you.”
“Jesus, Logan.” Tate pressed a palm to his erection, recalling the weekend trip they’d made around three weeks ago. Or maybe it was four. Shit, okay. They did need to work something out if he was having trouble remembering that. “Let me get things settled here and I’ll be at your office in”—he checked his watch—“an hour? Hour and a half?”
“Perfect,” Logan said. “I’ll be waiting.”

New Release! Mister Romance by Leisa Rayven is out today! Stacy's 5 STAR review, and Teasers! @LeisaRayven
Unputdownable!!! I found myself stealing glances at the checkout in the grocery store, the gas station, even my kids school! Mister Romance is addictively sexy, mysterious, and full of that steamy, heart-pounding romance that we all crave and need! The romance is HUGE in this one. These characters are so layered that they beg to be unmasked and the chase to find that as a reader is very appealing and thoroughly enjoyable! This had a How to lose a guy in ten days vibe to it at first, which was awesome because I just adore that movie. This was different though, Leisa Rayven has a way of making her story feel fresh and brand new, almost as if this trope had never been done before and I LOVE that! She is so talented at making her words feel like you've never read them, and there is something very different and unique about her writing, I can't put my finger on it but it draws you in like a magnet.
Eden Tate is my hero. Anyone that knows me, knows I'm a sucker for a kickass heroine when I'm reading a book, to me that can make or break the story. I only have a handful of leading ladies that I connect with almost instantaneously and Eden is one of them, she's HILARIOUS, smart, highly cynical, confident, sassy and she has just the perfect amount of vulnerability to make her real. Add in her quick wit and snazzy come-backs and boom- I have a new fictional bff. LOVE HER.
Now for Mister Romance himself, oh Lordy Lordy Lordy, THIS MAN. Max, oh god I love him so much. His job entails providing women with a romantic fantasy at a very hefty price, which is also accompanied by a very strict set of privacy rules which keep his anonymity secured. Eden's job is to break through those barriers in order to produce the story of a lifetime, which is to score a fantasy date with Mister Romance and write an exposé about it that will in turn, secure her journalism career.
The build-up drove me CRAZY but in the best way! Eden is so stubborn and Max must follow his rules so the slow burn is almost painful! It's so obvious that these two want each other, but the jaded way of thinking that Eden possesses makes it nearly impossible for Max to break through. She can't tell if he's acting or being real, or if his actions are all just a part of his job. And let me tell you, he lives up to his name! This is where the unputdownable part comes into play, watching these two navigate through the push and pull and learning to be strong willed while simultaneously trying not to break every rule they have in place for one another. Omg it was everything!
I seriously can't rave about this book enough. I'm so in love with this story, these characters, THIS AUTHOR. I'm in little bookie heaven because this book was absolutely BRILLIANT from beginning to end, the perfect romance novel! In my top five reads of the year, for sure! BUY THIS BOOK NOW!
Writing has always been a passion for Leisa, and even though she originally intended to be an actress, it wasn’t long into her time at drama school that she began writing plays.
Those plays were bad. Very bad. Well, her friends thought they were good, but that’s because they were always cast in them and any opportunity to be on stage was met with an obnoxious amount of enthusiasm.
Since then, she’s honed her craft, and several of her plays have been produced and toured throughout Australia.
These days, playwriting has given way to fiction writing, and Leisa’s debut novel, BAD ROMEO, was published through Macmillan New York in December 2014. The sequel, BROKEN JULIET was released in April 2015, and the final book in Leisa’s Starcrossed series, WICKED HEART, will hit bookstores and kindles on May 3rd, 2016.
The Starcrossed series has gained hordes of passionate fans all over the world, and the books have now been translated into eight foreign languages. Bad Romeo and Broken Juliet have also featured on international best seller lists in Brazil and Germany.
Leisa Rayven lives in Australia with her husband, two little boys, three cats, and a kangaroo named Howard.
(Howard may or may not be her imaginary marsupial friend. Everyone should have one.)
