Twisted Palace starts right off right where book 2 ended, told in dual alternating POVS between Reed and Ella. And I was filled with so much anticipation and hope because these characters have become such a huge part of my reading life so I was excited to see how the finale of this trilogy played out behind the eyes of both Reed and Ella.
If I'm totally honest, the first half of the book dragged a little, and I understand that when you get to the third book in a trilogy that a lot of explaining needs to be done, because there were a lot of unanswered questions from book 2. But I found there to be some mundane tendencies throughout the whole first half of the book, which lead to some skimming which I hate to admit to, and even worse I hate having to do it. Whereas the first two books just flew off the pages with non-stop addicting dialogue and plot twists, this third book paled in comparison. And it truly breaks my heart to say that because this is by far one of my favorite series this year.
There were some really great moments, and I loved how you get to see the evolution of Ella. That was probably my favorite thing about this book, watching her grow and become even stronger than she was before and to be able to finally take what's hers. In the first two books there was a constant question mark about Reed and Ella's status, and I think that was what really kept me glued to the pages. The constant uncertainty added so much angst which I love, and I didn't get that same feeling this time around. Don't get me wrong, that edge of your seat feeling did come, it just took a little longer to get there.
Easton is just as great as ever, he's hilarious and blunt and can make any situation a little easier, and I can't wait to read HIS book, so I'm praying there will be one! The twins are still a huge mystery to me, they were present like they are in all 3 books but I really want to know more about them. The fact that the Authors make them so mysterious really has the wheels turning in my head and want that story too! I wasn't sure about Gideon in the previous books, but now I'm even more curious about him. All of the Royal boys are captivating in some kind of way and I think that’s really the soul to this series, these brothers and their friendships and relationships are so consuming to the reader. Even the secondary characters like Wade and Val have me itching for more, so that is great, because I desperately don’t want the series to end.
I can't get into the whole Brooke/Dinah/Steve fiasco because that would be spoiler city, but I can say that these are some of the shadiest people ever and they really do add something great to the storyline. If you love to hate characters, then you’re all set with these three! As I mentioned before, the first half was slow and had me a little frustrated, but I guarantee by the time you get to the end that everything falls in to place and that angst you crave does come back, and the ending doesn’t disappoint either. These authors never fail to deliver an ending that has you craving more. I wish I knew if there was more!! All we can do is hope. The thing I take away from this the most is that this series has absolutely captivated me from day one, and I will be forever grateful to the Authors for creating this crazy world that we all love so much!

Ella doesn’t want him anymore. She says they’ll only destroy each other.
She might be right.

I'm so filled with emotion right now, I'm not sure if I want to scream in frustration or cry because I have to wait until JULY for book 2! JULY... I'm pretty sure I'm mad and sad and I actually made some unfavorable noises at the end!! I was actually pacing in my living room. PACING! Who does that over a book? I'm good with cliffhangers, but not now! Man, I'm pissed at myself for loving this book so much.
This story grabs you from the very beginning. It's witty and addictive and these Royal's will definitely steal your attention from everything else in your life while reading this book. If you start reading this at night, be prepared to be very tired the next day.
Ella Harper is strong, sassy, funny, independent and self assured despite her baggage. She's one hell of a smart ass, and stands up for herself and doesn't put up with rude people or condescending behavior. This poor girl has been dealt a super crappy hand, not only does she not let that define her, instead she embraces her misfortunes and moves forward. I LOVE her character so much, and I think I want to be Ella Harper when I grow up. She gets thrown into a situation with the Royal family (that's their last name, not the actual royal family) and has a whole new set of hurdles to conquer. Everything from spoiled prep school boys to mean girls, and she handles them in a way that deserves a great slow clap.
Then you have the Royal's: Callum, Gideon, Reed, Easton, Sawyer & Sebastian. Yep, that's SIX men. Don't worry it's not what you think. Or is it? ;)
I'm not going to break them all down, because half of the fun is learning about them as you read. But I will tell you this, Reed owned me in this story, he's like a mix between Gaston from Beauty and the Beast, and the beast himself. Arrogant & brute when provoked, yet sweet and tender when compassion fills him. I hated some of his actions, but I just fell completely in love with him because of the soft hidden parts that nobody ever witnessed. It took longer for me to like Easton, but each character is so unique and different that everyone will eventually grow on you. You can't help but love the Royal's.
I'm seriously gonna be in a major book hangover until book #2 comes out. (Broken Prince) I can tell this series will be one of my favorites. Please hurry July!!!
