Title: Somebody Else's Sky
Series: Something in the Way #2
Author: Jessica Hawkins
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: May 22, 2017
If I closed my eyes, I could still see them—all blonde sunshine, ocean-blue eyes, and long limbs. The glint of Lake’s gold bracelet. Pink cotton candy on Tiffany’s tongue. My scenery may have changed from heaven to hell, but some things never would: my struggle to do right by both sisters. To let Lake soar. To lift Tiffany up. The sacrifices I made for them, I made willingly.
A better man would’ve walked away by now, but I never claimed to be any good. I only promised myself I’d keep enough distance. If I’d learned one thing from my past, it was that love came in different forms. You could love passionately, hurt deep, die young. Or you could provide the kind of firm, steady support someone else could lean on.
Lake was everything I wanted, and nothing I could ever have. I was nobody before I knew her and a criminal after. The way to love her was to let her shine—even if it would be for somebody else.
Book two in the Something in the Way series, an epic, 3-book saga of forbidden love...
"Her innocence and simplicity defied the chaos in my head"
WORST-BEST book hangover EVER.
That was so cruel. Or was it? Maybe it was. I don't know!!! When I first finished the story, I was mad, really mad like super-ragey-angry-mad, I was basically all of the emoji faces all at once, especially the one with snot fuming out of its nose. Because that was me. I was crying, pacing, yelling and probably looking like a damn fool. Thank god I don't have a nanny cam because that wouldn't be pretty to watch. You know it's a great book when you need a support group full of like-minded individuals just to help you through the next five months. After I let all my emotions sink in, like REALLY sink in, I'm still an emotional wreck-4 days later! Between all the different conspiracy theories and scenarios running through my head, I'm an absolute mess and I couldn't be happier about it because I have faith in the process, and If book one didn't cement Jessica Hawkins in my heart, this sure as hell did. So thank you Jessica, for making me crazy and happy and miserable and ALL THE THINGS. Every book should fuel this kind of fire in its readers. EVERY. BOOK.
"I didn’t see these other girls and feel stirred the way I did for Lake, but at that moment, I wished it was anyone but her. I wished I’d never fucking met her. I just didn’t wish it enough to walk away for good."
As I let the story settle in a little more I realized that I was probably feeling all of the emotions that this author wanted me to feel. I'm pretty sure this is the effect that every author wants to have on his or her readers. However, not every author can achieve that, and Jessica did, TENFOLD. I really feel like I read a book that captured the essence of young love and the forbidden fantasy of what we can't have. I remember young love well, it's tragic and heart-wrenching and it's littered with vividly beautiful moments that are unforgettable. And that's a perfect way to describe this book. Will I die waiting for book 3? Not technically I hope, but yes, this will be a torturous 5 months because I have been profoundly moved by this series.
“You think I don’t know how you feel? You think I don’t carry the burden of our love on my shoulders just to keep it from crashing down onto you?”
We start this story right where the first book left off, and we get Manning's point of you for a lot of the book, which is as scary as it is nice because there's no way in hell that I want his mind on Tiffany! And let me tell you, there's a lot of Tiffany. SO. MUCH. TIFFANY. I'm not going in to the what's and why's of how I feel about Tiffany, or what happened because one, I don't want to spoil anything. And two, I don't really want to spend my time talking about that wench.
"She would be mad, but she couldn’t deny the unshakeable truth about Manning and me—this story was ours."
There's not actually much I can talk about without spoiling so I'll just continue with how I feel. I'm mad, I'm so mad, but I'm also extremely hopeful. I swear this book made me bi-polar, like why is this happening!?! All I feel is grief and anxiousness and pain and it hurts. If you want to read a book that will hold your attention and make you breathless and shatter you in complicated young-love glory than READ THIS BOOK.
“Even if all that’s true, you’re forgetting one thing. You can love me more than anyone else could. How can you ignore that?”
Manning is trying to make the right decision with his life by doing right by both Lake and Tiffany. And I firmly believe that everything he does is out of careful consideration and adoration for Lake, but then we have Tiffany and he obviously has adoration for her as well. I understand Lake, but why Tiffany!? Ugggh just talking about her makes me itchy and uncomfortable. PLUS, the way Tiffany treats Lake is downright wrong. Like dude, that's your little sister, you're supposed to protect her and love her and pick her up when she's down, not kick her when she's down!
There are very few books that I can say all of these things about and still give it a 5 star review. Like I've never been so mad reading a book but I still freaking loved it!!! How does that even happen?! Jessica Hawkins is a sorceress I know it. It's as if she left a piece of her soul in different parts of this book for each reader to take and keep with them, like a literary souvenir so we can never forget the magic of this story and discover the profound enormity of love within its pages. Because that's what the underlying message is here, in my opinion. That love is hard and angry and all-consuming and unpredictable. And I can't wait to read book 3 to see where all of that love goes. Hands down, this is my favorite series this year.

Matthew Bennett has suffered the worst sort of betrayal a man can ever know, and he’s trying to put his life back together after years of unhappiness and emotional neglect. He desperately needs the care and devotion of a good woman, someone who will not only erase the hurt he’s experienced, but help him cope with the tremendous stress and responsibility he endures daily as the CEO of a multibillion dollar corporation.
Through the yoga classes that she teaches, and her successful massage practice, Sasha Fonseca spends her days helping others improve their health and wellbeing, and also learning to combat stress. She leads a simple but serene life, content with the little she has, but shies away from any sort of long term commitments or serious relationships. Her unconventional upbringing has also made her fiercely independent, and she won’t let anyone try to mold her into something she’s not ever again.
Sasha is enlisted to help Matthew in a professional capacity, but it isn’t long before she finds herself drawn to him on an emotional and physical level as well. With a woman like Sasha in his life, Matthew finally believes he’s found the happiness that’s eluded him all these years. But will his scheming, soon-to-be ex find a way to destroy him once again, or will he get the happy ending that he deserves?

Multibillionaire CEO, Matthew Bennett is trying to move on from years of unhappiness. He’d been tied to a woman who’s been nothing but a burden. He plans to be the best father he can be, but he can no longer stay in a loveless marriage. His intense work schedule is stressful and he is held highly accountable for its continuing success. That’s where Sasha Fonseca comes in. Recommended by his friends, she is a highly regarded yoga instructor who also practices massage therapy. When he’s told about Sasha and how she could help relief his stress, he doesn’t know that this is the same woman where he connected to some time ago. The woman that gave him reasons to think a little deeper. Only then, everything was a bit different.
“And I think the first time we met that I knew somehow you would be the one to save me.”
Matthew and Sasha remain professional until they realize their connection becomes undeniable. I won’t say much about how this develops, but please know this is a slow burn romance in THE best way possible. The author is skilled in the way she executes this story. She never tells you about their feelings. The allows you to feel their words. To live them. After some time, they can no longer put up this façade and they give in to their desires. Matthew can no longer be a client. The boundaries set were easily overshadowed by the yearning for each other. Matthew has a past, while Sasha only knows how to be fiercely independent. His love is tender and passionate. Her love is guarded until there’s simply no holding back. She loves unconditionally. Something Matthew didn't think was ever possible. Little do they know that their past threatens to dismantle everything they’ve worked to build between them.
“That ache you feel?”
“That’s love, Sasha. I know because I’m feeling exactly the same thing right now. But it’s a good ache. One that will always remind us of how much we love each other.”
I was in awe of the strength of these two characters. Vulnerable yet strong. While Matthew made hard choices, it truly showed the protective and compassionate part of him. Can Sasha continue giving herself to a man who is obviously stretched so thin? So much happens with these two. Their love story isn’t easy. But what true love story is? There are circumstances that shakes them to the core of their relationship. Everything they’ve built comes to a heart stopping halt. Decisions are made. Hearts are broken. But their love always remains.
Although this story is a bit lighter than her other books, I found it no less inspiring. Because that’s what Janet Nissenson’s writing does to you. She writes with meaning. With purpose. Sensual and compelling, this magnificent story is one that must be read! I’ve said this many times, but she is truly master at her craft of romance writing. Her refined prose never goes unnoticed as she navigates her reader through a story that reminds you that in love there is a gamble. You trust the person with your heart. This story is a true testament to love being the most frightening yet exhilarating risk a person can take.
Serenity is a wonderful addition to this series. With an engaging storyline of how opposites attract, the author brilliantly produced an unexpected love story against some challenging circumstances. It was a perfect blend of romance balanced with second chances and forgiveness. As expected, with this book, the author gave us a story with a lesson: to be fearless and honest in love. At all times. Phenomenally written and heartfelt, Serenity is certainly one of the most fascinating stories I’ve read all year.

Author: C.M. Stunich
Series: (Rock-Hard Beautiful, #1)
Publication date: March 21st 2017
Genres: New Adult, Contemporary Romance
"This book has one girl and five bad boy rockstars. She owns them all—heart, body and soul. Don't read it unless you like to ugly cry…and also unless you like threesomes, foursomes…and moresomes."
This ^^^ is the warning at the beginning of the book, and that basically sums it up. Alone, broke and desperate. Lilith Goode is just trying to find a way to get to New York, when she stumbles across the path of a hot rocker guy who generously helps her out and confuses her with some sort of back stage pass winner to his show. The sexy stranger is mysterious and she has no clue what's going on, but with her situation she doesn't really have room to be choosey, so she goes along with it. I haven't read a lot in this genre but I read the blurb and was very intrigued so I thought it might be something that I would give a try. Pretty early on I realized that it wasn't really for me. However, I do know a ton of people who would love to read this book just because the warning said threesomes, foursomes & moresomes.
I knew from the warning that reading this book (or I assumed) there would be lots of sex, and there is. And it happens quickly with multiple partners, so if that's not your thing, heed the warning and move along because this book isn't for you. This girl has sex with three of the guys on the same night. The FIRST night. But I'm not going to slut shame her because if a guy can do it than so can she, in my head I was giving her a fictional high five and channeling Beyoncé. Get. Yours.
Pretty quickly we get to meet the male characters, Paxton, Ransom, Copeland, Muse & Michael. The story is told in first person with alternating POV's of all the characters, including each one of the five guys and Lilith, so you really get a feeling of what's going on in each of their heads and a thorough understanding why they make the choices they do.
I love the idea of a young woman finding her own independence while simultaneously being codependent on others. Not codependent in the sense where she's needy or she's beneath them, but that they're finding themselves within each other and growing stronger as individuals because of one another. Don't get me wrong, Lilith wasn't without flaw, she certainly had her whiney moments which were annoying, but her dad had just died and everyone mourns differently. Going on a road trip with a bunch of hot rockers and finding love and sensuality within that kind of atmosphere is unheard of, which pretty much makes this the ultimate fantasy. I thought I would really enjoy it l, and it's not that I didn't enjoy it because I must say that the writing in itself was fantastic. I want to make that clear, it was clever and smooth and it wasn't only there as a backdrop to the sex. You can tell that the author took her time in crafting a story that was both meaningful and steamy.
In the end, even though this book isn't something that I would normally read. I found it very entertaining and I appreciate the deeper meaning that I believe the author was trying to convey.
It was good, and I'll definitely recommend it to my friends who are into ménage and reverse harem books.
About The Author
C.M. Stunich is a self-admitted bibliophile with a love for exotic teas and a whole host of characters who live full time inside the strange, swirling vortex of her thoughts. Some folks might call this crazy, but Caitlin Morgan doesn’t mind – especially considering she has to write biographies in the third person. Oh, and half the host of characters in her head are searing hot bad boys with dirty mouths and skillful hands (among other things). If being crazy means hanging out with them everyday, C.M. has decided to have herself committed.
She hates tapioca pudding, loves to binge on cheesy horror movies, and is a slave to many cats. When she’s not vacuuming fur off of her couch, C.M. can be found with her nose buried in a book or her eyes glued to a computer screen. She’s the author of over thirty novels – romance, new adult, fantasy, and young adult included. Please, come and join her inside her crazy. There’s a heck of a lot to do there.
Oh, and Caitlin loves to chat (incessantly), so feel free to e-mail her, send her a Facebook message, or put up smoke signals. She’s already looking forward to it.

4 years later...
Omggggggg how I've missed these two men. I mean, they will always be one of my favorite couples in ALL of the romance genres, but revisiting them again after all this time was the best gift EVER!! I read EVERY word, no skimming because WHO WOULD DO THAT?! Like seriously, if you don't soak up every word of this book, I question your sanity because hello, it's Logan and Tate!
We started this journey with Logan and Tate four years ago, when they first crossed paths and broke through barriers to start a beautiful journey together, I also joined on this journey with them as a reader. So it's kind of crazy that Tease takes place literally four years after the first book was released.
With both Logan and Tate's careers at their peak, they're feeling pulled too much in the wrong direction. Realizing how hard it is to make their relationship a priority, they make strides to rectify this immediately! It's hilarious how after all this time that Logan is still surprised at the fact that Tate knows him so well, like he's shocked that he's still in a committed relationship. His insecurities still linger just below the surface and Tate handles him SO well. They really are perfect for each other, like when bossy Tate comes out it makes Logan crazy(in the best way!) and I just ADORE how balanced they make each other!
Omg can this woman write a sex scene or what?! Talk about the best slow burning, sensual, sexy as hell, hot and bothered thing you will read between two people! The pure carnal desire that these two have for each other is like some sublime force that will never die and never get old. Never. Ever. Tate with his silky curls and Logan and his smart mouth, and their sexy banter filled with sexual innuendos and puns. NEVER. GETS. OLD.
All of the characters you know and love are back, along with some we don't love so much, and some newbies too! We get to really see who they are today and how they've grown and evolved, and how that intertwines with Logan and Tate's life present day. One of these moments was extremely emotional for me and that just proves what the power of a fictional story can do for a very real life, I was surprisingly moved by a certain scene and I found it to be very therapeutic for me personally. And I think with this book specifically, that will happen for a lot of readers for several different reasons. That's why I love books so much, because reconnecting with these characters feels just like coming home.
When Ella Frank announced that we were getting THREE more books in the Temptation series, I just about had a heart attack, and I cried tears of joy, like legitimate tears running down my face. Tease was done SO well, and in my opinion, was a great beginning of a continuation-story that promises to be a great ride! I'm beyond excited to see what the next book in the series has to offer us lucky readers. So thank you Ella, for taking me back to my happy place with Logan and Tate, it was such a warm comfy place to be (and totally hot too). True fans of these guys will absolutely devour this book, and you should because it's AMAZING and wonderful and ALL the adjectives.
I will never forget when my best friend told me I needed to TRY, a new book she loved. That book happened to be the first in the series. My FIRST M/M. It changed EVERYTHING for me. I saw love in a way I never thought possible. I had no idea that love existed so deeply. I learned that love was hard, never easy, but it also was the best risk in life. No matter the circumstances. Logan and Tate? They have remained with me. YEARS later. I’ve never forgotten them. Never wanted to. Never could. So this continuation? This book? This series? It felt like home.
“I love you so damn much. I can’t believe there was ever a time when I didn’t.”
The story takes place four years after the last book, Trust. Logan and Tate are now an established couple. A couple that have been through trials and tribulations. They’ve faced adversity and heartbreak in every sense of the word. But those barriers made their love stronger. Their challenges were nothing short of a testament to the depth of their love and devotion to each other. At this time, they are both at the height of their careers. Busy with little to no time for each other, they do not want to get into this kind of routine. So they make time for each other…in the way they know how.
“Where else would I be? You’re where my heart is. So that’s where I stay.”
I was absolutely captivated by this book. I never wanted to put it down. Just when you think their story is over, this book comes along and simply astounds you with the depth of reverence that exists between these two. Their story is far from over. So much more is to come. As we are caught up on the lives of Logan and Tate, there are some characters I won’t mention that we also get updates on. I cannot simply tell you about this story. It’s one that must be experienced first hand. I love that the author does not bring up unnecessary drama. The story flows effortlessly.
“And just so we’re clear, we’re not talking about you on your knees worshipping me until I shout, ‘Oh my God’.Are we?”
I’ve said this before, but seriously? Miss Ella Frank you SLAY me with your words. Your talent to execute a passionate, heartfelt, yet intense story is simply unmatched. Can never be duplicated. I am forever in awe of your innate ability to write love in its most raw yet purest form. Logan and Tate have never been steamier. And you know just how HOT these boys are. The author stays true to this. Their love and adoration takes them to a whole different level in their most intimate moments. But nothing is perfect in love. Insecurities are explored and addressed. But their love? It’s never questioned.
“Forever’s a long time.”
“What? Worried you couldn’t put up with me for that long?”
“No. I’m worried it won’t be long enough.”
Will there seriously be enough words for me to truly make clear just how much I loved this book?! Tease was simply EVERYTHING. Logan and Tate, I’ve missed them so much. Their love is inspirational. It reminds you to love loudly. Deeply. Without regard. I love that the author is allowing us to reconnect with these two again. Stimulating and erotic, the continuation of this series is everything your heart could ever dream of. I cannot adequately describe my excitement for what’s to come. Well done, Ella!
“Hello, counselor. How’d the big case go today?”
Tate had been eyeing the clock all afternoon waiting to hear the outcome of the Berivax trial, and while he was happy it was finally going to be over, he also hoped all of Logan’s hard work had paid off.
“When was the last time we had sex?” Logan’s question was so blunt and unexpected it had Tate stumbling over his response for a second, and when he didn’t answer, Logan continued, “You don’t know, do you?”
The side of Tate’s mouth twitched at Logan’s disgusted tone. “Well, to be fair, you caught me off guard. I had to think for a minute.”
“And now that you’ve had time to think?”
“Oh my God. You can’t remember,” Logan said, and Tate couldn’t stop his laugh then. “That’s fucking shameful.”
“We’ve just been—”
“Don’t say it—”
“—busy.” Tate headed over to the door that separated the bar from the tiny foyer and stairwell that went up to their loft, shut it behind himself, and took a seat on one of the steps. “Well, we have been. This case of yours has taken up most of your time, and with the bar hours we just got…busy.”
“Yeah? Well, that shit needs to stop. Right now.”
Tate leaned his shoulder against the wall and shut his eyes, picturing Logan with his jet-black hair, those piercing blue eyes, and that full, sensual mouth. Tate had barely had time to say goodbye to him this morning, and no matter how much he was laughing it off, Logan was right—this not seeing one another was bullshit. They needed to sit down and work something out, now that Logan’s schedule would be returning to something more manageable.
“Agreed,” Tate said. “Something needs to change.”
“Good. How about we discuss it at dinner?”
Tate winced. “I’m here until one.”
“Can’t you beg Amelia to stay and come meet me?” Logan asked, and if he hadn’t sounded quite so desperate, Tate might not have caved.
“What am I going to get if I come to you?”
Logan’s voice lowered to a tone that never failed to make Tate hard. “Me. All night. And maybe again in the morning. I’m in a giving kind of mood.”
Tate swallowed and stretched his legs out in front of himself, suddenly needing a little more room in his jeans. “All night, huh? It’s been a while since that happened.”
“It has. So come find me and I’ll rectify that little issue you’re having with remembering our weekend away at the cabin. That was the last time my cock was inside you.”
“Jesus, Logan.” Tate pressed a palm to his erection, recalling the weekend trip they’d made around three weeks ago. Or maybe it was four. Shit, okay. They did need to work something out if he was having trouble remembering that. “Let me get things settled here and I’ll be at your office in”—he checked his watch—“an hour? Hour and a half?”
“Perfect,” Logan said. “I’ll be waiting.”

Release Blitz: Love Me in the Dark by Mia Asher, Stacy's review & teaser. @miaasherauthor @givemebooksblog
Title: Love Me in the Dark
Author: Mia Asher
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: May 10, 2017
“I want you to need me like I need you. Violate you like you violate my thoughts. Fill you without shame and mercy. Lose myself in your body and never come back,”
Love Me in the Dark is raw and forbidden and it leaves you with a depraved sense of satisfaction that might shock you, and from beginning to end I had no clue what was going to happen next! If you've ever wanted to throw your kindle before, that was child's play, you might want to get padded walls because your throw will be a heavy one. This is a new author to me so I went in knowing nothing except for the rumors I've heard that she will kill me with angst and most likely hurt me. BUT, I wiped my brain of that stuff the best I could because every author deserves a clean start.
Well let me tell you... you know how people say "I've felt every emotion reading this book?" Well I did. I got MAD, I was frustrated, annoyed, happy, sad, IN LOVE, on the edge, I almost gave up at one point. Like I was SO close to throwing the towel in. Something inside me told me to keep going, so I did. And I'm so glad I that I did. There were things that I didn't like and things that I loved, and in the end the love is what won the day, so I'll try my best to explain why.
Valentina is in love with her husband, and she's desperately trying to be the good wife and connect with him in the way she's supposed to, which won't be easy considering his past transgressions. They are supposed to be meeting in Paris, but V's husband once again abandons her, alone. In Paris. Where there's a hot guy tempting her every second of the day. So, she decides to take some "me" time to reexamine her life and how she feels about herself. Once her husband bails on her she basically turns her trip into an Eat, Pray, Love, type experience.
To be honest, in the beginning I had such a hard time connecting with the characters, and that was so frustrating for me, because I love the idea of this book. It has angst written all over it, but that didn't come until later. The character development was slightly lacking in my opinion. I just didn't feel like I knew the characters at all, and with this type of storyline I think you really need to be invested in the character to fall in love with them, especially if said character will be doing immoral things. Don't get me wrong, I'm always down for cheating, stalkers, sociopaths etc... but I still need to connect in order to completely commit. And that connection did come, just not as early on as I wanted.
Around 40% I finally fell into a groove with the writing, which is further along than I would have liked. But at that point it was getting good and I couldn't stop. Go figure. Sébastien, and his little owl were growing on me, and that made me so happy because I really didn't want to give up on this book. Sébastien and his past continually haunt him throughout the story and I was very invested in seeing that through.
Cut to about 60% and I'm all in. Wow, what a turnaround! This almost never happens to me! Man oh man this is getting gooood! At this point I'm fully invested and I'm not sure how I feel so differently now than I did in the beginning but I'm so, SO happy for the change! I guess this is why you should never give up on a book or DNF to early on because damn-- I would have been pinching myself for missing out on all of the goodness. It's like leaving a baseball game too early and BAM there's a comeback and you've missed all the greatest highlights! I'm so glad I stayed.
I think this really took a turn for me when I was finally able to appreciate the setting. These characters being in Paris, with all of the lights, sounds, music and culture. It's like, if they weren't at this exact place, in this exact time, that none of this would even be happening. Having La Bohème on repeat definitely helped I'm sure, and that's when I realized how creative and sensual the writing is, it was like a fog was lifted and I was like, wow this is really great. I think I actually learned something about myself while reading this book, realizing that not everything is black and white and that patience really is a worthy companion. This book did lots of things to me, some bad, some good, but ultimately it was a great read because I felt all of those things.
I'm a writer, a hopeless romantic, a wanderer, a dreamer, a cynic, and a believer. And, I might be a
bit crazy - but who isn't?
I believe in happy endings however I know that not everyone is lucky enough to get one, but such is life. I think fine lines exist to be pushed and possibly crossed.

New Release! Mister Romance by Leisa Rayven is out today! Stacy's 5 STAR review, and Teasers! @LeisaRayven
Unputdownable!!! I found myself stealing glances at the checkout in the grocery store, the gas station, even my kids school! Mister Romance is addictively sexy, mysterious, and full of that steamy, heart-pounding romance that we all crave and need! The romance is HUGE in this one. These characters are so layered that they beg to be unmasked and the chase to find that as a reader is very appealing and thoroughly enjoyable! This had a How to lose a guy in ten days vibe to it at first, which was awesome because I just adore that movie. This was different though, Leisa Rayven has a way of making her story feel fresh and brand new, almost as if this trope had never been done before and I LOVE that! She is so talented at making her words feel like you've never read them, and there is something very different and unique about her writing, I can't put my finger on it but it draws you in like a magnet.
Eden Tate is my hero. Anyone that knows me, knows I'm a sucker for a kickass heroine when I'm reading a book, to me that can make or break the story. I only have a handful of leading ladies that I connect with almost instantaneously and Eden is one of them, she's HILARIOUS, smart, highly cynical, confident, sassy and she has just the perfect amount of vulnerability to make her real. Add in her quick wit and snazzy come-backs and boom- I have a new fictional bff. LOVE HER.
Now for Mister Romance himself, oh Lordy Lordy Lordy, THIS MAN. Max, oh god I love him so much. His job entails providing women with a romantic fantasy at a very hefty price, which is also accompanied by a very strict set of privacy rules which keep his anonymity secured. Eden's job is to break through those barriers in order to produce the story of a lifetime, which is to score a fantasy date with Mister Romance and write an exposé about it that will in turn, secure her journalism career.
The build-up drove me CRAZY but in the best way! Eden is so stubborn and Max must follow his rules so the slow burn is almost painful! It's so obvious that these two want each other, but the jaded way of thinking that Eden possesses makes it nearly impossible for Max to break through. She can't tell if he's acting or being real, or if his actions are all just a part of his job. And let me tell you, he lives up to his name! This is where the unputdownable part comes into play, watching these two navigate through the push and pull and learning to be strong willed while simultaneously trying not to break every rule they have in place for one another. Omg it was everything!
I seriously can't rave about this book enough. I'm so in love with this story, these characters, THIS AUTHOR. I'm in little bookie heaven because this book was absolutely BRILLIANT from beginning to end, the perfect romance novel! In my top five reads of the year, for sure! BUY THIS BOOK NOW!
Writing has always been a passion for Leisa, and even though she originally intended to be an actress, it wasn’t long into her time at drama school that she began writing plays.
Those plays were bad. Very bad. Well, her friends thought they were good, but that’s because they were always cast in them and any opportunity to be on stage was met with an obnoxious amount of enthusiasm.
Since then, she’s honed her craft, and several of her plays have been produced and toured throughout Australia.
These days, playwriting has given way to fiction writing, and Leisa’s debut novel, BAD ROMEO, was published through Macmillan New York in December 2014. The sequel, BROKEN JULIET was released in April 2015, and the final book in Leisa’s Starcrossed series, WICKED HEART, will hit bookstores and kindles on May 3rd, 2016.
The Starcrossed series has gained hordes of passionate fans all over the world, and the books have now been translated into eight foreign languages. Bad Romeo and Broken Juliet have also featured on international best seller lists in Brazil and Germany.
Leisa Rayven lives in Australia with her husband, two little boys, three cats, and a kangaroo named Howard.
(Howard may or may not be her imaginary marsupial friend. Everyone should have one.)

Once again Kandi Steiner delivers a book that will take your soul and breathe life into it. She did it with A Iove letter to whiskey, and with this book I can't even tell you how full my heart is. I just read a book that is now a part of me, I will never forget this beautiful love story or how it made me feel. Full of great characters and that irresistible slow burn that we all crave, with just the right amount of angst, this is a story you need in your life asap!
Wren Ballard is a 27 year old boutique owner/clothing designer trying to get back on her feet and gain some independence after the failure of her 10 year marriage. She's trying to embrace her freedom and do a little soul searching in order to resume her regularly programmed life, and she has a major addiction with 90's music which automatically made her my literary soulmate.
Summertime is the perfect time for a fling In my opinion and set just outside of Seattle in a cozy cabin town, this book truly transports you to that fantasyland desperately needed to fully escape. And of course, per usual, Kandi's words are breathtakingly beautiful without being overly descriptive or dragging on, in fact it's just the opposite. The descriptions are so vivid and natural, I felt like I was smelling the smells in the mountain air and hearing all of the wonderful sounds of the cabin and the boots on the hiking trail, and the purrs of the vagabond cat, it was just perfect. Like movie picture, perfect. I wanted to live every moment with these characters because of the lyrical quality of the words. This story is a precious little gem that I want to wrap up and keep safe in my jewelry box of favorite books.
Anderson... Oh this man. Anderson Black is a local handyman in town and he's struggling to get by from day to day because of the weight he bears of an unreasonable guilt he carries with him. He's broody, short winded and ruggedly handsome and I loved watching his transformation from a wounded soul into a dream come true. Watching a man live with so much pain and guilt and then witnessing him come full circle at the heels of a woman who owns his heart is one of the most romantic things ever. Kandi captures this so perfectly, I can't even explain or comprehend how she does it, but it takes your breath away and makes you pause and really think about the beauty of love and what it overcomes to shine so brightly in the end. Her writing is simply, magical.
Watching these two characters rise and fall through the courtship of their relationship was everything I'd hoped it would be. All the unknowns and doubts and vulnerability peaks made this book seem so real to me, I can't gush enough about how well this was done. In the end, I went through every emotion on my book-emotions-requisite-list-- and that's saying a lot! I laughed, I cried, I oohhh'd & ahhh'd, I gasped and goosebumped. It was great, like really REALLY great. I can only hope this story moves other readers in the way it moved me because it is currently at the top of my list.
I had just grabbed my oversized hat and slipped my sunglasses on when I spotted Anderson walking up the drive with a large trash bag slung over his shoulder. He wore a simple, black V-neck and distressed jeans, an outfit way too dark and hot for the heat. A light sheen of sweat gathered on his neck as he made his way toward my cabin, his eyes hidden behind all-black sunglasses.
"Change your mind?" I asked, not even fighting the grin on my face as I walked outside and leaned against the banister.
Anderson squinted up at me, his boots heavy as they hit each stair. "About?"
"Tubing?" I asked. That was why he was here, right?
"Oh." He shook his head as he hit the top stair, shrugging the bag off his shoulders to hold it by the neck in one fist. "No, I have somewhere to be..." His voice trailed off, and even through the tinted shades of his glasses I felt his eyes on my chest. I'd strapped on my favorite boho print bathing suit and paired it with a dainty gold chain that wrapped around my neck once before dipping between my chest and crossing over my ribs.
He sniffed, holding the bag out toward me. "I just came to drop these off. My clothes. Well, the ones that could probably use a little TLC."
My eyes lit up and I reached for the bag, but Anderson snatched it back, brows shooting up into his forehead.
"No frills, Wren."
I threw my hands up in surrender. "I promise."
He smirked, just slightly, and handed the bag over, tucking his hands in his front pockets.
"Are you sure you don't want to come?" I asked, peering into the bag at my project before setting it just inside the cabin and locking the door behind me.
"I can't," he said, lips pressed together. He was tense, the muscles on his forearms tight as he glanced around at pretty much everything but me.
I opened my mouth to ask why but was cut off by the sound of a truck flying into my drive, tires sliding against the gravel.
Tucker was in the driver's seat with Davie in the passenger. Sarah and Yvette sat in the back, laughing with their hands up as the truck skidded to a stop. They were both sprawled out on a pile of tubes, wearing bathing suit tops and tiny shorts.
All of their faces froze when they saw Anderson.
"Hey, you ready, Wren?" Tucker asked warily, his eyes moving from where Anderson stood in front of me, to me, and back again.
"Yeah, one sec!" I called back.
I turned to Anderson, but his eyes were hard on Tucker, jaw ticking under his skin. When he faced me once more, an anchor fell from my throat into the pit of my stomach, immobilizing me completely. Because even though I 'd tried to convince myself I was wrong, I recognized the look in his eyes.
And when his nose flared and he took one big step toward me, our chests brushing, his hand reaching out to rest almost imperceptibly on my hip, the anchor in my stomach exploded into flames, burning a desire so fierce I inhaled a toxic breath and didn't let it go.
"Be careful, okay?" His eyes locked on mine just before he leaned in and swiftly kissed my cheek.
He turned on his heel and jogged down the stairs and past the truck. Sarah called his name, but he didn't acknowledge her, just kept his gaze forward until he'd disappeared from view.
And then everyone looked at me.

Blog Tour: JUST LIKE THAT by Nicola Rendell, Stacy's review, excerpt & teasers. @AuthorNRendell @ArdentPRose
This book was so much fun! It starts off with a chance encounter at an airport, and I'm already excited because I love any kind of scene in an airport. The instant chemistry was done perfectly and I love when a book starts off by making me smile! It just felt really nice to read a trope that could have easily felt cliché but it absolutely did not. It felt real and reminded me of the humility that life brings when not everything goes your way, but you make the best of it regardless of the situation. Throw in a sexy guy with just the right amount of cockiness and I was hooked!
Told in alternating dual first person pov’s, this story flowed so well and before I knew it I was half way through. I don't always like the POV from the hero unless the book is in third person or during the epilogue, but in this story, it fit perfectly. And I loved being inside the head of Russ because he's so damn funny and hearing his vulnerability from the inside while being so confident on the outside made his character so endearing and swoon-worthy for sure!
Penny is priceless! I absolutely adore her character, she's funny and quirky and is testing her limits with her self-proclaimed NO MAN DIET. After making some bad decisions in regards to men it's easy to see why she'd want to abstain from temptation, but we all have an Achilles heel and Penny's is definitely in the form of Russ. Hot, cocky, beautiful, RUSS.
Russ is only in town for a short period of time so he decides to try his luck at a no-strings deal with Penny. This quickly turns into a passionate fling and let me tell you the chemistry between these two was truly delectable. I found myself in such a happy place while reading because the story had such a well-rounded vibe to it. Not too much drama or angst and it just made me feel good, I can't really explain it any other way than that. Plus, the writing was great and I know I emphasized how good the flow was earlier but it really was so smooth and I can't stress enough how important that is to me. I love gliding through a story and not realizing how far in I am.
As the story progressed I really loved the anticipatory feel of what was going to happen. Like I said, the angst factor isn't huge but it's great to see these two people navigate through their growing feelings for each other and not knowing what that means since their arrangement is supposed to be short lived. Some things come into question about trusting one another and there are some super hilarious moments and some really hot sexy times too! This was a great read that I totally enjoyed and will probably read again when I need something to put me in a great mood. Definitely one click worthy!
There’s all sorts of sexy Russ-rustle-rustling as he tries on his clothes. It takes all my willpower to stop myself from running over to his changing room and pressing my eye up to the slats like I’m looking through a peep hole. He slings his shirt over the top of the changing room door, then steps out of his shoes and socks. I can almost hear a drumroll in my head and then it happens: his suit pants fall to the ground.
Maybe today’s boxer briefs are light gray, like a sporty heather gray, because that would just be…
I grab a random black dress off the rack and dash into the second changing room. As I shut the door, I hear Maisie saying something like, “Boy, I sure could use some help with all these sunglasses, ahem-ahem.” But I ignore it. As the rustling next door continues, I unfasten the knot on my sundress and let it fall from my shoulders, so I’m standing in my bra and panties in front of the very unflattering full-length mirror. I’m hoping it’s unflattering. It damned well better be unflattering. But then I notice a very faint bruise on my hip, in exactly the pattern of his fingers as he gripped me last night. I slide my fingertips along it and turn to warm caramel inside.
“What kind of movie is it?” I ask him as I finagle my hands through the spaghetti straps above my head and tug the new dress down over my body. It’s a size too small and hugs me like shrink-wrap.
“Romantic comedy.” His zipper slides up. “Workplace romance.”
I shimmy into the dress and stare at my reflection. There are times in my life when I am acutely aware of that devil-angel-shoulder situation, and this is one of them. Looking at myself in the mirror, and I can almost see the two of them in position. The devil is a real vixen. Combat boots, and a raspy, sultry voice. No bullshit and a very respectable smoky eyeliner. She likes her music feminist and her tequila straight. On the other shoulder sits the angel. She’s a dead-ringer for my fourth-grade librarian. She smells like mothballs, her lipstick flakes off when she talks, and she’s big into smooth jazz. I hate her. Also, she’s pretty much always exactly right. Double-demerit.
The angel says, “Penelope Eloise Darling. Why can’t you find yourself a nice man with a steady job? That eHarmony questionnaire doesn’t take that long. Just think: you could find a nice Baptist minister in Tallahassee! At least you’d live in the same state!”
I suck in my stomach so hard that I feel dizzy, and try to pull up my zipper. Not even close. I cinch the fabric shut with one hand, suck in harder, and give it a yank. It bites into me, and I stretch the dress to the side as far as I can, testing the tensile strength of 1% spandex to its limit.
The devil takes out her hip flask and downs a pull of tequila while she considers her black nail polish. “Fuck that noise, Pen. You want him, take him. Boom. Done.”
The zipper finally cooperates. I don’t even look like myself, this thing is so tight. I spin slightly and look at my ass, over my shoulder.
Which is when the door squeaks open. I fully expect it to be Maisie, brandishing her Kindle and saying something like, “I knew I’d seen that jawline before,” but it isn’t. It’s him.
“Oh, fuck. Sorry, I thought this was my…” He trails off.
The desire ricochets between us like a pinball trapped at the bottom of an arcade machine. He’s in shorts that fit him like a glove, and a soft navy T-shirt, with a vintage Pac-Man logo, washed out and faded. And he’s found a hat, like a super-stylish baseball hat with mesh on the back. Plus, flip-flops.
I thought he was handsome before, but this, this… Casual, and carefree, and look at those shoulders. Peeking out from the sleeve of the T-shirt is the bottom edge of his tattoo on the curve of his massive bicep.
Here lies Penelope Darling, who died of a swoon.
He lets out a breathy, quiet whistle. “I’m buying that for you.”
The way he talks, that dominance, makes me feel like I’m some new but treasured thing. I’m not used to it, but one thing is for sure: I like it. Except even in my haze, it’s the angel that answers first. “No, no, no. I’ll never wear it.”
“I don’t care.”
Frivolous retail purchases especially for me? “We…should get to work.”
His eyes move up and down over me again so deliciously slowly that I feel a shiver up my spine. “I'll show you getting to work.” He takes a step toward me, and runs his hand up the side of my dress.
I grab ahold of the hanger rack behind me as my knees start to get a little wobbly. “I’ll take you to the boardwalk first. Rides. Ball-and-hammer. Funnel cakes.” He’s reducing me to bullet points. I can’t even string two nouns and a verb.
He pulls his hand away with a frustrated grunt. “Fine. But I’m buying it for you. No arguments. Got it?” he says finally, and then heads back to his changing room.
The devil turns to the angel, who’s got her lips in a tight, prudish line. But the devil? She gives zero fucks, and she raises her hip flask to me. “Here’s to romantic comedy.”
Toodles, Man Wagon.

Graham Russell and I weren’t made for one another.
I was driven by emotion; he was apathetic. I dreamed while he lived in nightmares. I cried when he had no tears to shed.
Despite his frozen heart and my readiness to run, we sometimes shared seconds. Seconds when our eyes locked and we saw each other’s secrets. Seconds when his lips tasted my fears, and I breathed in his pains. Seconds when we both imagined what it would be like to love one another.
Those seconds left us floating, but when reality knocked us sideways, gravity forced us to descend.
Graham Russell wasn’t a man who knew how to love, and I wasn’t a woman who knew how to either. Yet if I had the chance to fall again, I’d fall with him forever.
Even if we were destined to crash against solid ground.

“Doesn’t it tire you?” “To feel so much.”
“Doesn’t it tire you to not feel at all?”
Typically when I write my review, I give a quick synopsis of the book. But honestly? This is the kind of book you go into blind. You only want to know their names. Because these are characters that you will love. Cry over. Lose sleep over. They stay with you. Long after you finish. Graham and Lucy are absolutely a testament to the greatest love. He is dark. She is light. He can’t breathe. She becomes his air. His heart is heavy and wounded. Her heart only knows how to love harder. She thinks she’s free. But she never knew true freedom and happiness until she knew his heart.
“And I realized you were the first and only thing that ever made my heartbeats come to life.”
Inspiring. Breathtaking. This is their love. I could talk forever about just how poetically beautiful this story was written. Deeply moving and brilliantly executed, this story is heart stopping. The storyline unique and unforgettable. This author goes deep. Lucy and Graham are two souls that were an accident. Never meant to be. Their love should not exist. But fate and destiny has its own rules. Darkness and light find each other regardless of their circumstance. Powerful. Magical. Their love is EVERYTHING.
“You’re in love with me?”
“With every piece of my soul.”
The Gravity Of Us was a poignant and compelling read. I was easily lost within the pages. Every word was thoughtful. The manifestation of the words and storyline was meticulous and purposeful. This book was deeply meaningful and exhilarating. There aren’t enough words to truly explain how deeply I was moved. The declarations of love had to be the most beautiful words I’ve ever read in my life. The words of this author are a gift. Truly. So don’t read this book. Live it. Experience it. Wrap yourself within the deep emotions of Lucy and Graham’s story. I guarantee that this will challenge everything you felt love could ever do. Just when you think you can’t, love tells you that it’s possible.

Praised by Wall Street Journal Bestselling Author Ilsa Madden-Mills as "the usual Grey crisp writing, lovable heroes that you kinda want to slap, and a heroine that doesn't back down," Resistance on Ice is another fun standalone novel in the bestselling Boys of Winter hockey romance series.
Hockey star Nolan Solvenson is nothing short of skilled perfection, both on and off the ice. Or so everyone thinks. His teammates are constantly hitting him up for advice, but really, when it comes to his own life, Nolan can't seem to make the right moves anymore.
Blame it all on Lainey Shelburne, a woman he wants but is determined to keep at arm’s length. That’s why, after a few sexy encounters, he unceremoniously blows her off.
When they’re reunited, facing off against the fiery cocktail waitress becomes the challenge of his life. Lainey is furious with him for dumping her and wants nothing more than to kick him in the junk. But Nolan—typical man—is only interested in getting Lainey back in his bed.
That plan is shot all to hell when they reach a shaky truce and Lainey drops the bomb that all she’s looking for now is a "just friends" relationship with Nolan.
Take that, Mr. Hot Right Winger!
Suddenly, the "know-it-all" athlete is skating on thin ice as he tries to hide his burgeoning feelings from the one woman who has the ability to thaw his heart. But is Lainey willing to try a relationship with him again? Can Nolan resist the urge to walk away?
Resistance on Ice is a fun standalone novel and the second installment in the bestselling Boys of Winter hockey romance series.
Sports Romance/Romantic Comedy
**EACH BOOK IN THE BOYS OF WINTER SERIES FEATURES A DIFFERENT SMOKING HOT HOCKEY PLAYER'S STORY**
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Nolan Solvenson is known for having his life together. He is the one that friends turn to when they need advice on getting back on track. If everyone only knew how much of a front he puts up. That his world is quite the opposite. So he remains guarded. Until Lainey Shelburne. Nolan is determined to keep her away, until he can no longer do so. After a few times together, he completely blows her off. Most girls would cry in a corner and wonder what they did wrong. Not Lainey! She is fierce! And mad! So when he comes to the realization that he can’t deny what they had, she tells him she just wants to be friends. Because trusting him would only mean heartbreak. Again. But Nolan? That is a challenge he is up for and he has no intentions of backing down.
The chemistry between Nolan and Lainey was off the charts. The building of their relationship was a true testament to the author’s talent of character development with a witty and fun storyline. This is a friends to lover and second chance romance all rolled up into one. While S.R.Grey is known for her more heartfelt stories, but she was quickly cemented her place in the romantic comedy romance genre with this amazing new series! The execution was skillfully manifested in a story that I found hard to put down. I just about read it in one sitting! If you are a fan of this author or even just a fan of sports romantic comedy then you MUST read this book! And if you are a fan of neither, I guarantee this book will make you one.
This was seriously THE best romantic comedy of the year! The author is extremely talented in allowing her readers to get lost in her words with her authentically hilarious storyline and genuine characters. Resistance On Ice has the perfect balance of steam and passion with humor. She has this innate ability for her readers to truly connect with her characters through heart and of course laughter. Although a romantic comedy, they still have sparks of S.R. Grey’s natural ability to give us a heartfelt and thought provoking read. Nolan and Lainey have something deep and their story is one to not be missed. I am so looking forward to the continuation of this series with the next couple.
S.R. Grey is an Amazon Top 100 and a #1 Barnes & Noble Bestselling author.
