The first novel in a sexy new series featuring the hockey players of the Brooklyn Bruisers and the women who win their hearts—from the USA Today bestselling author of the Ivy Years series.
In high school they were the perfect couple—until the day Georgia left Leo in the cold...
Hockey player Leo Trevi has spent the last six years trying to do two things: get over the girl who broke his heart, and succeed in the NHL. But on the first day he’s called up to the newly franchised Brooklyn Bruisers, Leo gets checked on both sides, first by the team’s coach—who has a long simmering grudge, and then by the Bruisers’ sexy, icy publicist—his former girlfriend Georgia Worthington.
Saying goodbye to Leo was one of the hardest things Georgia ever had to do—and saying hello again isn’t much easier. Georgia is determined to keep their relationship strictly professional, but when a press conference microphone catches Leo declaring his feelings for her, things get really personal, really fast....
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Leo Trevi, how I love you. Let me count the ways. Once again, Sarina Bowen gives us a man that puts all others to shame. Her writing simply sets the bar high for sports romance. One that many others cannot reach.
Hockey player, Leo Trevi has now successfully made it to the NHL. It’s a dream of his he’s worked tirelessly to achieve for many years. He just sees one challenge. His ex-girlfriend, Georgia Worthington happens to be the publicist for the team he has just worked so hard to join. Even though it has been years since they’ve seen each other, the sparks are still there. Why did Georgia break his heart all those years ago? And can he survive if she breaks it again? He wastes no time in letting her know that his heart still belongs to her, if she will still have it.
Rookie Move is the type of story that you get lost in. The way Leo cherishes and covets Georgia will leave you speechless and your heart pounding. I love his heart. And the way he loves? It will overwhelm you. Consume you. His love for Georgia knows no time or circumstance. His heart only knows hers. He longs for her. He loves her deeply. Fiercely. Without conditions. Without any regard. Although Georgia is the one who breaks his heart, he knows no one can mend its broken pieces back to whole, but her. But don’t be mistaken, Georgia loves just as fiercely with everything she is. Down to her core. But its just like life to come in and rock a solid foundation. Regardless, deep down their love never wavered. Even when it didn’t seen possible and they spent years apart, their feelings always remained.
To say how I loved and adored this story would be an absolute understatement. The author writes with such a heart and grace that as a reader I can’t but help to be emotionally invested in not only the story but the characters as well. There is a perfect balance between the sports and the romance. The words kept me engaged from beginning to end. I am so excited to see what’s next!
