"You aren't wealthy until you have something money can't buy." - Garth Brooks
Lana Bloom is nineteen, she not rich, and lives on a council estate. Having found out that her mum is sick, she desperately needs money so that she can to send her to the US to get the treatment that she needs. Lana will do anything to get the money she needs even if it’s unthinkable. When she meets Blake Law Barrington Lana soon realizes that he could be the answer to dilemma and her prayers. All she has to do is sign a contract, and agree that, for the next ninety days, Lana will be his whenever, and, however, he wants.
"He reminded her of a panther. Prowling and ready to pounce, full of suppressed restless energy. Muscular, strong."
Blake is the mysterious, sexy, arrogant, and very wealthy American banker whose heart is very guarded. His family is all about appearances. He can have what he wants when he wants, and when he sees Lana he wants her he is drawn to her and wants her. However he not prepared for the feelings that he finds himself feeling for her.
“He has never felt the need to sexually possess anyone like this before. But her he must. She is like a craving. An addiction”
I liked Lana she was strong at times, but when it came to Blake her vulnerability at times showed she couldn’t deny the feelings that she had for him. So there were moments that I felt for her, but also found her slightly frustrating.
"There is no one but him for her- she would take the bad, the good, even the indifferent”
When I first met Blake, I was thinking oh!! I’m going to like him, and that Lana was a lucky lady, but he really was an enigma, and some of his actions came across as cold and unemotional, but then he would do something that showed that he really did care about her and let down his guard So I went from liking him to disliking him, and back again.
"He is a strange man. So cold and distant sometime and so incredibly kind and generous at other times."
"He doesn’t exactly understand why, but whenever he is near her, he loses all his carefully cultivated ‘cool’ All he wants to do is strap her to his bed, and have total control of her."
When I started reading this book I did think that the storyline was going to be a lot similar to other billionaire books that I have read, I will say that although it had that feel it was different in many ways. I like Lana and Blake together. There are some twist, angst and hilarious moments. I loved that it was high on the sexy factor plenty of very hot steamy scenes between Lana and Blake. I loved that it was set it London as it great when you know and can picture the locations set in the story. Kilburn is not very far from where I live.
The Billionaire Banker was entraining read that I happily read in one sitting. It had some fun secondary characters such Lana’s mum and her friends Billie. This was the first book I have read by Georgia Le Carre, and I felt for the most part I found the story flow well, it took me awhile to gets use to the writing style, but that may have been because it told in the third person, and also one of the reason I felt I didn’t connect to Lana and Blake as much as I wanted too. There were a few “ok what was that about” scenes, where I would have liked more explanation.
Overall with that being said it didn’t take way my enjoyment of the book. The last 15% and the cliffhanger ending meant that I was very happy that I have the next book in the series Forty 2 Days sitting on my kindle waiting to be read. Which I will be doing right after I have finished this review, as I’m very keen to know what to going to happen next for Lana and Blake. If you love mysterious, sexy, arrogant billionaires then this book will be for you.
“Do you want it flowery or straight.’
She bites her lip. ‘ Straight.’
‘I wanted to fuck you senseless from the moment our eyes met.’
‘And the flowery version?’
‘Now I think about it, there is no flowery version. It is what it is.”

It had been a while since I read a good billionaire romance. I was missing the closed off Alpha and pretty young girl storyline, every so often you just need one of those. Blake Barrington is from old money, his family own about half the earth with their corporate banks, the moment Blake spots Lana in a restaurant he has to have her even if that means stealing her from someone else.
Lana is in a tight spot, her mother needs help and Lana needs a lot of money in order to provide for her. With nothing else to give but her body, Lana is about to make a deal with the devil (a creepy/sick one at that) when Blake Barrington swoops in and claims her for his own. Lana knows this is a much better option but it’s more dangerous in the sense that it is no longer just her body on the line, it is her heart as well.
The storyline was set up similar to billionaire stories I have read before and I didn’t mind that, Lana was plucked and pruned and given a new wardrobe and new apartment to play the part. What I struggled with was feeling the connection between Lana and Blake. I found Blake to be too closed off, usually what attracts me to his type of character is the tortured broken soul, or his weakness in order to prove he is a good guy deep down inside. And although he did one or two nice things for Lana his stone cold façade never melted and I just couldn’t find a redeeming quality to him.
Lana was a likeable character, she was young and naïve but I could sympathise with her. I might not have agreed with her career choice but she did what she had to do for a good reason. When she internally declared she loved Blake I was taken aback as I felt there was no basis to their relationship for either to feel that way.
I did struggle with the writing at times, it was told in third person narrative but I felt there was a lot of ‘he said, she said’, some passages where choppy and it was like reading directions rather being immersed in the story. With that being said, the drama did kick off near the end and I am very intrigued as to what will happen next.
