Could I love Braden and Joss any more??!! Not freaking possible! I would take any morsel we are offered from this couple. From the very first chapter I'm reminded why Braden is my favourite book boyfriend, he's just so swoon worthy, rugged, Alpha and so damn sexy!!
Joss still struggled with the loss of her family, the happier she was with Braden, the more she worried that it could be taken away. It was great to see the progression Joss had made, instead of shutting Braden out she was learning to talk to him and not let her fears taint their future.
So Castle Hill is a novella that covers the time period between the end of On Dublin Street, the epilogue and beyond. What I was expecting, like most bonus novellas, was gushy sweet romance where we witness the loved up couple riding off into the sunset. That wasn't the case in Castle Hill. Yes we got to see Braden and Joss very much in love surrounded by their family and friends but we also got to witness them facing real issues. It was not all flowers and rainbows. And do you know what? I loved the book more for that very reason. It was so refreshing and I felt it did the characters justice. Joss and Braden's past issues were not resolved with a quick fix. Events happen that test their strength and resilience. Of course it hurt my heart to read my favourite couple at odds with each other but it just made me love them all the more for the way they came through the other side.
I loved that Samantha Young surprised me, taking Castle Hill in a direction I did not expect. As always the writing was superb and it felt like coming home, reading about my favourite characters again. I don't know if this is the last from Braden and Joss on their own (of course I would love more from them) but I can't wait to follow their journey via the future books in the series.
Of course I have to mention how hot this novella was!!! Oh yes, it was Braden after all. Let's just say, reading this book whilst cramped on an aeroplane was not ideal, I'm just hoping no one caught my blushes! The chemistry between Braden and Joss is stronger, hotter and downright sexy! I loved it all!
I have a love hate relationship with novellas and Castle Hill was all about the love. The pace was perfect and the content was plentiful. Don't hesitate to 1-click this one!
"Now I wasn't the gushy, emotional type of girl who could tell her boyfriend every single day that she loved him. But Braden knew I loved him...I wondered if he knew that just watching him sleep made me scary happy, breathless even. I wondered if he knew that he was absolutely, without a doubt, everything to me."
"Am I hot now?" he asked, his voice low and rumbling with arousal as his fingers slipped beneath my panties..."Baby, you don't know how to be anything else."
"Years ago I'd lost everything that meant anything to me. Losing that left me lost. Until Braden."
"There is not a moment that passes where you don't make me feel more alive than I ever thought I could, and today you gave me something I thought was lost a long time ago for the both of us. You've given me peace, babe. You've given me everything."
