The second part of Bash and Olivia’s story picks up exactly where part one ended. Bash was in trouble after dealing with Olivia’s ex and Olivia is left feeling guilty for getting Bash mixed up in her mess.
I liked this instalment more than the first, partly because I am getting to know Bash and Olivia better and their personalities are becoming clearer. Although Bash and Olivia had only know each other for a short time, Bash was prepared to protect Olivia no matter what the cost, even if that meant pushing her away to keep her safe. Olivia was having none of this and I liked her determined side. Bash may have been the one to take the fall for Olivia’s ex but Olivia went out of her way to make Bash’s freedom possible.
Bash and Olivia are reunited, however briefly; Bash may just have to make a deal with the devil to sort out his mess and also that of his brother’s. The book finished on a note that left me wanting more. The writing was easy to read and I felt there was more depth to Bash and Olivia’s relationship. Bash’s brothers intrigued me and I do look forward to their story too.
As far as stories go, Bash and Olivia’s is a slow build. I’m not sure if they work best as serialised novellas and perhaps my attention would be held better if I read them all in one go. With that being said there is something intriguing about the characters and their tale.
