"I didn't understand what was happening between us. But I liked it."
*I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.*
Cassidy is a tree hugger, quite literally. She is passionate about saving the earth and after a tip off from her friend; she sets off for Alaska to throw a spanner (or chain) in the production of Whetman Logging. Only Cassidy wasn’t expecting the devastating snowstorm or the fact that the CEO of Whetman logging was a sexy geek with a big heart. Teague saves Cassidy from more than one icy occasion!
I did find Cassidy a little hard to take at the beginning, I questioned her character and the fact she had no real clue of what she was doing. Chaining herself to Teague’s saw was the best thing that happened to her. Who says geeks can’t save the day ;)
I really enjoyed this story, I thought it was light, entertaining and I didn’t want to put it down. I felt the slow build between Teague and Cassidy (even though they got off to a very intimate start ;)) and I was rooting for them from day one. There was a lot of information about logging and plenty of drama surrounding the weather and Teague’s responsibility to the town. I wondered at one point if there was too much going on but then I quickly dismissed it as I thought I am actually enjoying Teague’s home life and how it is for him.
This was my first book by Jen Greyson and I took to her writing immediately. I loved Teague, he was representing the sweethearts, and you don’t get to see that in many book boyfriends today. He had a huge heart but at the same time, he was sexy! The scenes between Cassidy and Teague were a perfect mix of tenderness and steam. If I had one wish, it would be for more of Teague's point of view. We got a few snippets and it had me craving more!
Snowed Under is labelled as a novella but you get more for your money, as it is just under 200 pages, so it is on the larger side of a novella. Of course, this just means more Teague and Cassidy goodness for us. I liked the pacing of the book and the storyline itself of Cassidy and her protesting was very original. Cassidy and Teague only spent a short amount of time together, although I don’t think it was long enough for declarations of love, I did believe their connection and wanted them to get their HEA.
This was a fun New Adult read; there was romance, sexy times, an original story and great characters. It’s definitely worth a read.
From the moment she decided on a degree in Equestrian Studies, Jen Greyson’s life has been one unscripted adventure after another. Leaving the cowboy state of Wyoming to train show horses in France, Switzerland, and Germany, she’s lived life without much of a plan, but always a book in her suitcase. Now a wife and mom to two young boys, she relies on her adventurous, passionate characters to be the risk- takers.
Jen also ghost writes billionaire legacies and romance novellas when she’s not enjoying the wilds of the west via wakeboard or snowmobile.
She's a mama writer, unleashing stories.
