As described on the synopsis, The Gift is meant to be a fun, quick, flirty read and it was exactly that. Imogen and Blake met in an igloo and there was instant chemistry. After they meet by chance a few times, they go on a few dates.
When reading this novella, you need to always have in mind that it is meant to be quick and fun. I just wish we had more to the story and character development. It definitely had potential. But this novella will put you in the Christmas mood if that's what you're looking for.
The Gift is exactly how it is described, it is a fun flirty read for the Christmas period. Imogen meets Blake on a night out and they immediately have chemistry, a few fun dates follow until an event makes them realise life is all about living in the moment.
The Gift is a fun way to pass 30 minutes and it needs to be taken at face value, for just under 40 pages we don't get a lot of character development and the action at the end seems to jump out from nowhere. I do think this would have been a nice lead into a full length book. It seems to just get into a rhythm and then the end is near. With that aside, if you want some Christmas cheer then check out The Gift.
