*I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.*
Beautiful Dreams is the third book in the Beautiful series by Alicia Rae, and it picks up where My Beautiful left off. I was eager to read this one as I wanted to know more about Kyle and his past, and I needed to know if Lily and Kyle got their HEA. Lily had opened up to Kyle, and let go of her past, and now it was Kyle’s turn to do the same.
The storyline was about Lily and Kyle as they move forward with they lives, adjust to living together as a couple, their fears, their romance, their bond, and their trust in each other. I did think that Kyle’s past was going to test their relationship a lot more that what it did, and so, unlike the first two books, it wasn’t as high on angst as I was expecting, but that being said it didn’t make the storyline any less enjoyable for me.
I have always loved Lily and Kyle together, the passion and chemistry that they have doesn’t waver in this one. These two are great together; soul mates that in the end have helped each other heal. I love the way Kyle is with Lily, especially the way he wants to protect her.
I loved the secondary characters, such as Jason, Abby and Brooke. I liked the relationship that Lily develops with Kyle’s sister Abby.
Overall, I enjoyed Beautiful Dreams, another easy, well-written read from Alicia. I was happy with the way things ended for Lily and Kyle’s story. The disappointment to find no epilogue was slightly softened when I discovered that there will be a 4th book in the series about two of the secondary characters. This put a smile on my face as I like these two characters, and as a result, I’m looking forward to reading Beautiful Ties, and reading their story, but also getting to see more of Lily and Kyle.
I have really enjoyed this series so far, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
“I prayed my faith was strong enough to give me the courage to push forward at my chance at love and true happiness.” ~ Lily
“I know we still have so much to learn about one another, but it will never change the way I feel about you. I once told you, you had my heart, and that part will never change” ~ Kyle
“You give me so much, and my heart is yours. I’ll never walk away from that.” ~ Lily
“Every fiber of my being told me, right here, with him, was exactly where I was meant to be.” ~ Lily
“Before you, I was just passing through the motions, telling myself I had moved on when I hadn’t. Then, I met you, and my world changed. You brought light back in to my life. I thought I would never have that again.” Kyle
“I had faith in you, Kyle, from day one. You brought me out of that darkness, showed me how to live again, and opened my eyes to the world around me.” ~ Lily
“I know you are scared, but you need to have faith in me…..faith in us.” ~Kyle
“With all the heartache and loss that consumed my thoughts over the last few years, I felt like I had finally found my place in life.” ~ Lily

New Adult Blog Tour: The Perfect Game (The Perfect Game #1) by J. Sterling ~ Author Interview, Ava''''s Review and Giveaway
Hi Jenn, thanks for stopping by Biblio Belles today!
From The Perfect Games series, is it safe to assume you are a huge fan of baseball? Did you always plan to integrate this into the story?
I am a huge baseball fan! Born and raised on the Dodgers… So yes, when it came to The Perfect Game, baseball was always supposed to be a part of it. The story really revolved around Jack for me- and Jack is a ball player… the 2 go hand in hand. :-)
What do you think it is about Jack F’n Carter that has all the ladies swooning?
I DON’T KNOW!!!!! Lol I wish it was a simple answer, but maybe it’s the fact that he screwed up so royally and was genuinely sorry. I think that for any woman who has ever been done wrong, that’s all we’d really want- for the guy to be so damned sorry that he’d move heaven and earth to PROVE IT to us. I know it’s what I would want (well, if I wanted the guy back that is). And I think that Jack putting Cassie first in a major career move… I think it doesn’t get bigger than that in terms of apologizing, trying to right a wrong, going the distance, etc
You released the final book, The Sweetest Game on Christmas Day, how did this compare to other release days? It must have been exciting; do you ever take time off? ;-)
It turned out to be a horrible time for me to release the book. Sales have been insanely slow- and I sometimes wonder if fans of the series even know there’s a third book out? DO YOU? Lol But really, it was really sad. And it’s very very very hard to shut down and not work.
Was it hard to say goodbye to Jack and Cassie?
Oh heck yes! My gosh, it was SO hard to say goodbye, BUT on the flip side- I love this last book so incredibly much…. I feel like it was SO fulfilling, answered every question, skipped through so much of their time together… that it just FELT good by the end. I was okay. Like there was almost nothing more left to say about them, you know? So while it’s definitely hard, it’s bittersweet because I love this ending so much. I love their story and them. <3
If your readers can take one thing away from the series, what do you hope it would be?
There are life lessons/themes that I’ve tried to incorporate in each of the books, but I think the overall thing is how much true love matters. And how some people are worth fighting for- and some are worth forgiving.
You have mentioned before about believing in instant connections and things happening for a reason and you started writing after you got fired from your job, so do you believe in fate?
Do I believe in fate?! HAHAHHAHAHAHA YES! 1000000 percent yes! I truly believe that everything happens for a reason, how it’s supposed too, etc. I’ve never been more thankful for getting fired than I am right now. : )
Can you share any info on what you are currently working on?
YES! I’m currently working on a Celebrity based series. They’re all stand alones (in theory), but they take place in the same world (the entertainment industry in LA). I’m almost finished with the first book and I’m super excited about it. It’s a really sweet, fun, light-hearted, fantasy type story (not fantasy like harry potter, but fantasy like…. I WANT THIS TO HAPPEN TO ME type of thing). I am really excited about giving these books life, so I hope they’re well received.
Ava and Derna were lucky enough to meet you at the London Author Signing, and you were the sweetest person ever! What is your favourite part of the signings? Do you have any planned for this year?
Awww, thank you so much! My favourite part hands down is meeting my readers! There’s nothing greater than connecting with those who have enjoyed something I wrote. You all are the freaking best! : ) And yes, I have about 6-7 signings planned this year (Houston, Nashville, New York, Atlanta, St. Louis and Australia)
Thanks so much for answering our questions today :-)
“I’m not ready to give him my heart. What if he breaks it?”
Jack F’kn Carter had quite the reputation so of course I had to read about this guy. Sometimes if there is a lot of hype, my expectations are set high. So it’s not that I didn’t enjoy the perfect game, it was just a little different from what I was expecting.
Jack Carter is notoriously known as a player, that is of course until that ‘one girl’ comes along and seems different from the rest. Cassie caught Jack’s attention and he wouldn’t stop until he got the girl.
Cassie is a strong girl. She tries her best not to fall for the hot baseball player, but of course, she’s only human and soon enough they are falling for each other. But dating Jack means drama and jealous fan girls are part of the package deal. Jack and Cassie’s love is tested but maybe, just maybe they will be all the more stronger for it.
The beginning of the book started out with Jack trying to win over Cassie and when he finally got Cassie to go out with him, the story jumped ahead to one month later. So we missed out on Jack and Cassie getting together. I missed all the butterflies, and little looks and touches. I missed what made their relationship work. So straight away, I struggled to connect with Jack and Cassie as I felt the beginning of their story was such a crucial part.
The Perfect Game is on the lower end of New Adult, a YA crossover really, the characters felt a little immature at times but they were just at the beginning of their growth journey and I have no doubt they will continue to develop over the follow up books.
Just when things seemed to be going well, Jack’s baseball career is going from strength to strength but that requires lots of travelling and this is when his relationship with Cassie is tested. I did feel Jack gave up a little too easily and that’s when his swoon worthy bubble burst for me.
Even though I was disappointed with Jack’s actions, I actually liked the fact the author went there and took us through the process. Usually readers are always on the outside looking in, so even though I didn’t like what Jack had done and yes I may have fallen out of love with him for a bit, I thought it was ballsy that we saw the whole thing from beginning to end. I’m a stickler for holding grudges so I hadn’t completely forgiven him by the end but I was glad to see both him and Cassie happy.
I liked the inclusion of baseball and Cassie’s photography, it brought out the passionate sides of the characters. I wasn’t a fan of Jack’s nickname kitten for Cassie and the main storyline was a little on the predictable side. I knew what was happening long before Cassie and Jack did, so it was a little frustrating waiting on them catching up.
This was my first book by J. Sterling, and although the writing didn’t grab me and make me want to devour the book and the characters, The Perfect Game made for some easy reading. I’m not a fan of time jumps in a book, especially when I feel I miss out on things in between. With that being said, I would definitely check out more of the author’s work.
For lovers of baseball, bad boys and romance you will eat this book up and fall head over heels for the one and only Jack F’kn Carter. Check this one out for yourself today.
He exhaled. “You’re my game changer, you know that?”
“Game changer?” I shook my head, unsure of his meaning.
“The one girl who changes everything. The one you’d give it all up for.”
“Our scars don’t point us in the direction we’re headed, Cass, they simply remind us of where we’ve been.”
“Sometimes letting go is the only way to find out who you’re meant to hold on to.”
I got fired from my last job.
I know you're sitting there thinking, "Jenn, how could anyone in their right mind fire someone as amazing and awesome as you are???" And i'd love to give you a good reason, but the truth is... being This! Awesome! is clearly very scary to other less awesome people. :)
So I said screw them and started writing my first book. And you know what I realized? Writing books that mean something to me is a million times better than working my ass off for someone who doesn't really care about anything other than the bottom line.
My soul feels more satisfied.
My heart, more full.
So thank you for reading, loving and recommending the stories I write.
I think you're awesome- and not only am I not scared of other awesome people, I want them on my team!

Master Black. Sensei Black. Ronin Black. Any which name you choose to call him, it all comes down to one thing… Super-redhot-WOW-alpha who certainly knows his way around a rope!
Ronin is dark, mysterious, and he has an eighth degree black belt, which makes him super bad-ass. He is also highly respected in the jujitsu/MMA world, but I think a lot of that is out of fear of the massive man.
Amery grew up the daughter of a fundamentalist Christian minister. She was ashamed to express herself in the ways she really wanted to, sexually and otherwise. Now as an adult, she is still dealing the internal struggle of the issue’s her strict upbringing gave her and now she has the added stress of running her own graphic design business that is in danger of going under.
Now, I wasn’t too fond of Amery’s friends, they didn’t seem very supportive and they were just a tad too whiny for my liking. But the heat and animalistic chemistry that Ronin and Amery have, made me forget all about all the other characters in the book. Okay so her friend Molly is the reason they met in the first place, so I suppose I can forgive her whiny personality.
Ronin and Amery are so funny-cute together.
“Are you finished fitting me for a necklace?” “Maybe I’m fitting you for a noose.”
“You should have seen how fast I put a condom on.” “You’ve already got a condom on?”
And so damn steamy HOT!
“Open and let me taste you, Amery.”
“Next time I eat your pussy I’m going to kiss you with a mouthful of your juices so you’ll know how delectable you taste.”
And then it happened… Ronin gave her a little surprise she so wasn’t expecting! Damnit Ronin! A girl needs a little warning before you spring something like that on her. I would have been upset too, but I guess a charming, big macho man like him just thinks he could get away with it like it was no big deal. Guess that’s a lesson learned, big guy!
Once their first relationship hurdle was overcome, Ronin still had more in store for Amery. Only this time it was out of the goodness of his heart. I’m not sure whose side I would take on the final battle here. For Ronin… I could see how it wasn’t a big deal. That part of his life really isn’t a part of him anymore. He left it behind, even though it’s still at his disposable. For Amery… I get it. She want’s to be a strong and self-reliant woman. But sometimes a little help is good and I think she took the issue a little too wrong.
There is no resolve in their story for this book, I have no idea when the next one comes out, but I’m ready for it NOW! This was the first time I had read anything by Lorelei. And it certainly won’t be my last!
Sensei, Master Black, Sir, Ronin…
HOLY CRAP all of these names could work! This man isn’t just hot, he’s on fire! From the moment you meet him, you smell him through these book pages. Hot, lusty, want and need is what this man demands of you. He’s a super stealthy- trazillion time black belt who wants nothing more than to tame and teach his students. His goal is to structurally tame his students, not by submission, but by proper skills towards the course. What he didn’t plan for was to be “Uncle’d” by a feeling. A feeling that would alter his course from here on out. That feeling has a name, Amery Hardwick.
SHE is Ronin’s kryptonite.
Sensei Black is a hard core, no holds barred type of dude who wants nothing more than to teach his students the fine art of proper Japanese Jujitsu. He believes his students will thrive upon the true organic way of teaching, rather than the ever so popular Brazilian form of MMA training. Ronin is Zen, and pure, and hyper aware of his opponents. This in turn makes him fierce, and builds his character towards all advisaries. This may sound futile to most, but I found it so enlightening towards the story behind this character, and truly made me happy to learn right along with Amery. Lorelei did a great deal of research I believe. Or… She’s just that much of a badass, and just happens to know her shit. Either way, this book was written WELL.
This book starts off with secondary characters like most. Amery is trying to help her sweet friend Molly get through the unimaginable discourse of being attacked at random. Molly is scared to attend a self defense course on her own, so she brings Amery as a support system. What Molly doesn’t realize is that her BFF Amery, dressed in jeans (wrong DOJO attire) will change her life forever. Not Molly’s life (he he) but Amery’s life. Although we have the sweetly seductive Ronin, we also have great secondary boys like “Sandan Zack” etc… You’ll just have to read it!!
We go through an amazingly lustful state of want and need between these two characters, and the buildup is phenomenal. I actually thought these two were going to hook up and have it over with half way through, but NOPE! The twisty angst grew brick upon brick to my surprise. They teased, and taunted one another just enough to keep me turning the page. The chivalrous nature of Ronin had me captivated, and the lustful need from Amery kept me wanting more. They both wanted to snag the bait of their captor, yet neither wanted to succumb to the consequences. This made for great romanticized tension!
End of story… Ronin Black is the HOT Alpha Male that you thought died in your dreams. I’m here to tell you. Ladies HE’S REAL!! GO GET HIM! He didn’t die! He’s swoony, He’s sweet, and He’s EVERYTHING you want and more! If any man can bring sweet sensuality back to your life and heart, I have two words.
A bit about me: When I'm not squirreled away behind my laptop writing fun, sexy, contemporary erotic romances set in the modern day Wild West, I can be found reading everything under the sun, practicing yoga until I’m a pretzel, shootin' my .22, watching the Professional Bull Riders tour on Versus, and running a kid's taxi service, all in the guise of avoiding housework and rustlin' up vittles.
Why do I have a particular fondness for all things western? Well, I'm a fourth generation South Dakotan, living in the Black Hills, which is chock-full of interesting characters, including cowboys, Indians, ranchers, and bikers. The geographical diversity of the surrounding area showcases mountains, plains, and badlands. Living in and writing about rural settings gives me a unique perspective, especially since I'm not writing historical westerns. Through my fictional world, I can show the ideals and the cowboy way of life are still very much alive.

Heath was a rock star god. The tight lines fanning outward from his silver eyes classified him as a pissed off rock star god.
“Wanna tell me what you did this time to get the platinum treatment?” He indicated the jail cell, while ramming his fingers through his shaggy, jet-black hair.
Preferring to shrink into the shadows and avoid a confrontation with him, Sam took a deep breath and rose from the bench. She stepped away from the metal seat to draw closer to the bars dividing them.
She’d expected her brother, Jason—Jase—to ride to her rescue. Like always. Her foundation. Predictable. Dependable. Rattled by her sibling’s abandonment, she ogled the skull on Heath’s shirt, mortification overwhelming her.
If Heath was Jase’s replacement, then he’d been serious when he said ‘don’t call me the next time you’re arrested.’ She’d assumed he yelled that in anger. She was surprised he’d bothered to offer aid at all.
Gut hollow at her brother’s desertion, she cleared the ache out of her throat and asked, “Can’t you just bail me out and we’ll forget this ever happened?”
Knowing he wouldn’t go for that suggestion, Sam swallowed hard and shuffled her feet. Disappointing Jase was one thing, but letting Heath down was an entirely different matter. She’d crushed on the man since her tenth birthday when he’d given her a heart-shaped jewelry box. Didn’t matter he’d been too old for her at a mature fourteen. That infatuation hadn’t waned with age either, but only grown stronger. Not that he showed her a stitch of interest. To him, she was nothing more complicated than a kid sister.
His digits curled around one of the bars. The tattoo lettering on his left knuckles fit his current disposition--ired. On the other hand the letters H-O-T-W graced his knuckles. If read together, they spelled out the name of his band: Hot Wired.
“Not this time, Samantha.”
She cringed. The only time he broke out her full name was when he was upset or disappointed with her.
“You been drinking?”
“You know I haven’t.” Just shy of twenty-one, in her world getting liquor wasn’t an issue. Neither was alcohol her preferred drug of choice.
She rolled her eyes, the question too stupid to warrant a response.
“This type of publicity is bad news for the band.” She’d heard that one before. None of her recklessness damaged Hot Wired’s career. Not that she sought to hinder their mega stardom. She wasn’t that selfish, she just struggled with controlling her impulses on occasion.
Therapy failed to help. Yelling spawned further rebellion.
Living under the umbrella of the band’s fame grew tiresome. Her life should be her own, to live however she pleased. Weary of the media hounding her, she craved going back to a time when nobody knew her name. A normal life like when she’d been a kid.
She’d grown up on daydreams of the band making it to the big times. They won the lottery of recording deals, while Sam discovered stardom came at a high price. Along with that knowledge came the freebie of all lessons…fantasies were often better than reality. The last time she’d visited the mall without a trail of vipers eager to report her purchases she’d been fifteen.
Was it too much to ask to have a date the world didn’t scrutinize? Even the loss of her virginity made headline news. That act should’ve come with the expectation of privacy. Thanks to the tabloids, Jase almost burst a blood vessel over that exploitation.
Once she’d picked her nose in public on purpose because a rag-reporter stalked her. Scratched her butt on another occasion. Gave them something to write. Those were the photographs and articles that gave her incentive to laugh.
“The only reason they’re not pressing charges is because of Jase.”
“Thanks for the reminder.” Along with it came the reminder that her brother sent Heath instead of coming himself.
Despite the news-hounds, she got out of a lot of shit thanks to her brother’s identity. This incident would be all over the rags and Internet before morning.
‘Hot Wired’s drummer’s sister is at it again!’ They’d go on to paint her wild and immoral comportment.
Have at it you fucks. Can’t hurt me any more than you already have, but what about the band?
Distance from Hot Wired would aid all of them. She’d get her peace of mind back, and they’d be devoid of the rebel-rouser in their group.
She’d mentioned changing her last name and moving back to their Southern roots in the small Alabama town where she’d been born. Jase had gone bat-shit crazy at the suggestion and went on and on about how their parents would be rolling over in their grave at her abandoning the family name.
The name-change idea had been discarded. Swept under the rug like a dust bunny never to be spoken of again.
Torn between two worlds, Sam was suffocating. Living with someone she couldn’t have in a world where she didn’t belong.
She sank back down onto the bench and lay down on the uncomfortable metal, staring at the ceiling. “Go away, Heath. I’m not in the mood for a lecture.”
A sigh came from him, followed by a long pause. She anticipated he’d argue, but she focused on the water spot marring the tiled ceiling and prepared herself to fight back.
The sound of his retreating boots hitting concrete echoed in the room. His exit surprised her, but relieved her too. Faced with his disappointment, she vowed again she’d terminate her criminal behavior.
She settled the backside of her wrist against her forehead. She made that promise to herself often and botched the good intentions each time.
After a moment, a new set of footsteps approached the cell. Even with her eyes closed she determined the intruder wasn’t Heath. In a room full of guests, she could identify his gait. Heath’s solid steps and long stride made for a unique swagger that bespoke his self-confidence. Celebrated his rocker status. Watching him walk compared to admiring art. Ogling his ass as he strode away…eye-gasms.
This individual’s fast-paced walk reminded her of the peppered rounds of gunfire. She waited for the person to speak. The clink of metal striking metal and locks disengaging snagged her attention. She turned her head. The thirty-something deputy swung the cell-door open. “You’re free to go, Ms. Collins.”
Sam rolled off the bench and grinned at the officer as she sidled past him. She’d bragged as they booked her that they wouldn’t hold her long and the charges wouldn’t stick.
In the lobby, Heath waited for her with his hands shoved in his jeans pocket. His shaggy-butchered hair shadowed his eyes, doing a good job of hiding his expression, but the hard line of his jaw indicated he’d married his irritation. Lectures were sure to come.
Looking at him, no one would guess he rocked the panties off chicks worldwide. With his long-sleeved, pull-over black shirt, sporting a white skull, his snug well-worn jeans and scuffed boots, he appeared as average as any hard American worker.
That’s what I need to warm my cold bed. Average. Not my brother’s best friend and rock star god.
There was nothing average about Heath Fangor—Fang to his band mates and the world. Neither would he seduce her. Not even as a one-time gig. The man and his fucked up principals…or maybe they were her fucked up principals because she couldn’t say for sure if she’d enter into a one-night-stand with him if he begged for one. She wanted more, and a one-nighter would be difficult to live with.
“Thanks for the bail out, Fang.” She breezed past him with all intention of snubbing him, but he caught her arm. He held on tight, giving her a warning glare when she tried to jerk free.
“Don’t be ungrateful, brat.” He towed her toward the elevator.
“Thanks for the autograph, Fang!” She glanced back at the deputy who’d released her from the cell. He waved a piece of paper at them, grinning ear-to-ear.
Heath shoved her into the lift. The moment the doors shut, he slammed his palms down on either side of her head. Sam sucked in a breath, her eyes frozen on his sexy-ass mouth. The bottom lip was slightly puffier than the top, nice and pink, and wet. He’d probably licked them, which explained the sheen. She had naughty fantasies with them as the star of the show navigating her body. The damage she suspected they could accomplish created a slippery situation in her panties.
A slight tilt of his lips before he said, “Eyes on mine.”
She refocused and locked onto his silver gaze. The accusations she saw there struck her like a blow to the gut. Looking away would be easier, but Heath had a way of holding her to a higher level with just a penetrating stare. His expectations were tall, and she despised him for having such grand aspirations for her.
“What’s gotten into you? Base diving—”
“That was fun. You should try it.”
“—bar brawls, knifing chicks in Miami—”
“Hey! I was found innocent of that allegation!”
Elevating his eyebrows, he called her statement a lie without uttering a word.
“—and now you’re adding grand theft auto to your long list of offenses.”

“When’s my next appointment?” I asked my receptionist Janice while making my way around the front counter. I’d just walked out Lance’s crush and wanted the day to be over.
“You have one more, Talan. Esther is due in twenty.”
“Fuck, I forgot about her.” My body slumped against the counter. The boys and I were hoping for the evening to be slow, allowing us an early night.
“That’s why I’m here, handsome. To serve you in any way you need,” Janice purred, and I sighed as I flipped open my laptop and logged in. I’d made the mistake of wetting my dick in her a few months back when she first came through my door. Afterward, she became jealous and clingy, wanting more than I was willing to give.
The only reason she was still there was because she had bigger balls than the other two fuckers that worked there. Janice could handle the leers, gestures, and jokes like a pro, but fuck with her inventory or dirty my shop, and she will rip you a new one.
“Janice, cut that shit out,” I demanded before storming off toward the back and into my sanctuary. The guys all laughed when I walked by. I flipped them the bird and continued on into my room.
An hour had passed since I’d asked Janice if I was clear and there was still no sign of Esther. It was the usual for her. The woman would be late to her own funeral, but this was a new one for her.
She was never this late.
I was becoming agitated by the lack of common sense people had to pick up a goddamn phone. How hard could it be to let me know if you’re coming or not? There was just something about a person’s lack of punctuality that pissed me off. Not caring if I had shit to do or places to be was plain rude.
I was worked up to the point of walking out the damn door.
“Janice,” I called out into the now empty shop. She’d insisted – once the boy’s left – in staying behind to help me set up, not listening to my refusal. “Call Esther and reschedule. I’m beat and—”
“I’m here,” Esther yelled, rushing through the door. “Traffic was a bitch and I—”
“Save it and get in my chair before I kick you out,” I grumbled and rubbed my throbbing temples.
“But, I brought—”
“Is he always this rude?” a soft, feminine voice I didn’t recognize asked.
I looked up, and was startled by the sexy little thing that stood before me. She was young. Much younger than what I was normally attracted to; at the most this little nymph was twenty.
The beauty had black hair; wavy and tousled locks that swept down to the middle of her back, with side-swept bangs across her forehead. Her face was sweet, innocent, while her gray eyes spoke of mischief, and in my case, trouble. Lips, those fucking cherry-red lips, were plump and inviting—the perfect Cupid’s bow that begged to be nibbled.
I let my eyes traverse her short frame and my mouth watered. She truly was an itty-bitty thing. With my six-foot-four frame, I towered over her, dwarfing her delicate one.
My feet carried me closer to where she stood, next to Esther in the receptionist area. I wanted her laid on that black marble top so I could feast on her. The drought I’d been on as of late might have been making me desperate...then again, looking at her was making something within me want to just take, consequences be damned.
We watched each other; she followed my every move and I, her every breath.
My eyes dropped from her perfect face to hungrily devour her chest and a shiver ran down my spine. The two pert, no bigger than a handful breasts, sat high on her chest. She wore a simple camisole that did little to hide her obvious happiness to meet me.
My cock twitched as her nips puckered.
I continued my assessment and found my hands clenching the second her narrow waist and flared hips came into view. My nails dug grooves into the palms of my hands, the slight pinch keeping me in check. The desire to pull her closer, grab onto her flesh, and leave my prints behind was almost unbearable.
She was a slim petite thing, with the sexiest pair of legs my eyes had ever seen; they were bare for my enjoyment. A tiny pair of denim shorts barely covered her lower region, marking every groove and molding onto her sinful flesh as if they were a part of her.
I was hard.
“Wow,” a voice coughed to my right, pulling my eyes away from Bitty.
“You can say ‘thank you’ for my gift now and eye fuck her later.” Esther laughed while Bitty turned red around the cheeks.
This cute little thing blushes?
“Talan, it’s getting late,” Janice interrupted suddenly, “and we have plans.”
“I’m sorry,” Bitty spoke up, turning to Esther, “maybe we should come ba—”
“No.” The word popped out before I could think to stop them.
“Yes.” My glare cut off Janice before she could continue, eliciting a chastised look from her. Who the hell did she think she was to be so rude and hostile toward my client and someone who, I hoped, would soon be my friend?
“Enough, Janice.” I let the words come out encased in a low, warning growl before turning toward the two women with raised brows. “You two head on back.” Bitty went to protest at my command, but instead bit her lip, causing me to groan. Fuck, I need to get this situation under control. “Esther, you know the drill; lose the shirt and get comfy. Bitty, I want—”
Bitty crossed her arms, scowling adorably. “Who you calling ‘Bitty’?”
“You, sweet thing, now quit interrupting me.”
Bitty huffed, but I saw no real annoyance in her expression.
“Talan, can we have a word please?” Janice butt-in, again. If this chick didn’t leave soon she was going to find herself without a job.
“No, and for fuck’s sake—go home.”
“But,” she whined and gave me a ridiculous pout. The two other girls in the room laughed. Janice didn’t appreciate this and turned her icy glare on them.
“Come on, Es, seems the big, bad, tatt boy has his hands full,” Bitty cooed with a sexy giggle and pulled a nosy Esther behind her. The two walked off, down toward the room with my name on the door. They walked in, and while Esther went to strip, Bitty closed the door.
Her eyes—those damn cat-like grey eyes—set on mine, blazing with amusement while she winked then pushed the door closed.
“What the fuck was that?” Janice hissed once they were both out of earshot. “You should have a little more—”
“Get out,” I said through gritted teeth.
Janice’s jaw jutted forward in defiance. “Are you into that little girl?”
I pointed toward the door. “Out and quit pushing . . . you’re walking a fine line.”
Hurt flickered in her eyes. “Talan, I—”
“Go home, Janice. Go home before I fucking lose the last bit of patience I have today and kick you out permanently.”

“I look like an angel, but I’m built for sin. And I sin, oh how I sin."
*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.*
This cheeky little novella will chew you up and spit you out.
From the synopsis I knew this was going to be about a detached, crafty chick that didn’t give two hoots. What I wasn’t expecting was the crazy world of V and all that goes on in it.
It’s hot, fast paced and just on the right side of crazy.
I felt like this book was the author’s chance just to let go and write freely and unabashedly. It wasn’t over the top shocking for the sake of it, it was done in a way that is pure entertainment. It won’t help us to pick apart V’s character and say “she is cold blooded” or “how can we like someone like her”. I believe it isn’t for that purpose, this book was entertaining and well written. I went on a journey with V. We learned why she is cold and aloof. Why she can’t be tied down and why she trusts no one. I don’t even know if she can trust herself.
This was a blast of fresh air amongst my current reads. I wasn’t even planning to read it yet but I thought I would have a ‘quick look’ and before I knew it, I had reached the last page. V is out for a good time and finds what she is looking for at a local bar. Her escapades are erotic and when she goes home with her conquests they sure get more than they bargained for. The writing is in your face, no holds barred and very sexy. Not for the meek that is for sure.
V’s character is crazy, her story is shocking and I loved her. I really can’t wait to see what’s next in store for V and to discover if her past will catch up with her. We all know it happens eventually. I must say there has never been a more perfect cover for a book. The girl just has V written all over her. It is a great match. I also liked the surprise POVs at the end, it just added that little bit more to the story.
Used is well worth a read. It may be slightly pricey for a novella but don’t let that deter you. Follow V on her wild ride.
“I’m just a broken girl who’s fucking the world like it has fucked me. In my humble opinion, I’m fucking it harder, faster, and longer.”
“I’m just a broken girl who’s fucking the world like it has fucked me.”
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review*
Used is V’s story, she’s an interesting, twisted character, not one I have met before, and she has a crazy and shocking story to tell. V tells you what she is thinking straight from the beginning. V is very blunt, and you know straight away that there is no holding back for this girl. While reading it I didn’t know if I should love her or hate her, but by the end, I can say that I loved her and her attitude.
I loved the storyline; which I was lucky enough to beta read, definitely not predictable I’m not going to say anything more about it as this is one of these stories that you have to read knowing nothing about it to get that full open mouthed experience while reading it. The whole time I was reading it I was thinking Fuck this is crazy but in a good way. I had the same feeling even after finishing it for the second time.
The story flowed really well, it was short and to the point. The writing was descriptive, and bold, but wasn’t over the top. The sex scenes were very good, really hot, and very sexy. I loved them, like the writing I didn’t feel they were over the top. Told from V’s POV, but I did like the extra POV’s from 2 of the other characters at the end.
Overall I really loved reading Used, I was hooked from the start. Loved the twist at the end, so never saw it coming. I can’t wait to read what Kate Lynne has next in store for V and where her story goes. I’m looking forward to going on that journey with her.
If you have an hour or so to spare, and you are looking for a quick, very hot sexy erotic read, that pulls no punches, has no HEA and will most likely leave you thinking what have I just read, then I would recommend Used.
"My life isn't a fairytale, it's a fucking ghost story."
As always, Confused starts of with V being the crazy chick we know and love. A girl gets more than she bargained for when she invites V back to her place for the night, our V is just a little cray cray!
V has moved on to another city following the end of Used, she is laying low for a while, that is until her mortal enemy catches up with her, it wouldn't be so bad if V wasn't desperately attracted to him. V thinks she's the one in control but little does she know Breccan has had her cards marked all along and she isn't as indestructible as she thinks she is.
If V is a messed up version of a damsel in distress then Breccan is her equally messed up Prince Charming. His intentions are pure, his methods not so much. He shares a connection with V from her childhood and although V doesn't remember straight away, Breccan has shaped his life to be there for V and to give her back something she didn't know was even possible. I was wary of Breccan so he didn't win me over entirely but he was half way there.
"You deserve more than a one night fuck. You deserve for someone to love you every day of your life."
In this story we seen a more vulnerable side to V, for all she seems crass and feisty, deep down she longs to feel wanted.
"I'm pissed off at Breccan and I don't even really know why. I guess I just wanted him to follow me. I just want someone to follow me and fucking mean it."
Used started off with a bang and V was like a ball of fire, she did mellow in Confused, her emotions came into play and we discovered this tough nut does actually have a weakness. There was a twist revealed at the end and this has definitely left me needing to find out what is in store for both V and Breccan.
"I just want her to be happy again. I just want the light back. But if I can't get it, I'll learn to adapt to living in the dark."
If you are easily offended, don't like crude language or brash sex scenes then this book might not be for you, but if you are willing to open your mind and accept V, as she is, then this is one off-the-wall read. The writing is good, and although full of bravado, V's real emotions are uncovered. I also liked having Breccan's POV at the end as well, he proves that he will do anything for V, lawful or not.
Confused is another quick read that packs a punch, you need to step in to V's crazy world and enjoy the ride!
V is back in true style, with her bluntness and her no holds barred attitude. She is used to getting what she wants, when she wants and always being in control. That is until she finally comes face to face with the very sexy Detective Breccan Grant, the man with the bright green eyes.
V wants Breccan, and in her mind, she will get what she wants and move on. But she soon finds out that is easier said than done. V has met her match when it comes to Breccan, he is a bit of a mystery who has his own agenda. There is something about Breccen, there is a connection, there is chemistry and she knows nothing good will come from it, but she can’t stay away.
I loved the storyline, like the last, it’s definitely not predictable. Without giving away too many spoilers you get some hints into the reason why V is the way she is. You get an insight into her past, her childhood, who Breccan really is and what connects them. Kate Lynne lets you see a different side of V, showing us that yes, she is cold hearted, but she does have feelings, she is not as emotionless as she likes to make out. I have always liked V because of her attitude, but now I can’t help but feel for her too.
Overall, I enjoyed Confused the second installment into the crazy world of V, and yes, she is definitely confused in this one. Although I felt that Used was hotter, this one didn’t disappoint on sexy scenes, and like our crazy twisted heroine, this novella doesn’t hold back with its twists and turns.
With Breccan’s POV at the end, Confused left me wanting more. Therefore, I can’t wait to get my hands on the next installment; I need to know what Kate has next in store for V and Breccan
If you read, and loved Used then you should 1-click Confused today to get your fix of the crazy chick called V.
”New town, new places to see and most importantly, new faces.”
“Confusion. It’s becoming an all too fucked up in my mind feeling for the last couple of days”.
"You deserve more than a one night fuck. You deserve for someone to love you every day of your life."
“But something feels different about him. It’s not love or anything like that, I’m not capable. But it’s definitely a deep infatuation. A fondness that I feel that I haven’t felt for another in a long time. He makes me safe.”
"I just want her to be happy again. I just want the light back. But if I can't get it, I'll learn to adapt to living in the dark."

“This,” he says, “is all yours.”
I step into the room. Weapons and equipment are hanging from every nook and cranny. It’s a goldmine of war goodies. Chris, however, is holding up a single object. A rifle. It’s brand new, it’s sleek, and it’s awesome. He hands it to me.
I curl my fingers around the weapon, the metal cool against my skin. I test the weight. Not too heavy. Just right for my size. A scope is mounted on top of the weapon.
“I’ve really needed one of these,” I say.
“You’re a great shot without optics,” he replies. “With it you’ll be unstoppable.” He hoists a backpack. “I packed this for you. It’s got a new uniform, supplies, equipment. Upgraded radio, night vision goggles.” He grins and pulls out a small handgun. “There are some nice toys in here, too. This one’s just your size.”
“You packed this for me?” I asked, touched. Because with all of the things he’s got to worry about, it’s beyond sweet that he would go to the trouble of getting supplies together for me. “Thank you.”
“My pleasure.” He drapes one strap of the pack over my shoulder. “You’re really in the military now, Cassie. It suits you.”
“I don’t know.” I gaze up at his sure, handsome face. “Does it?”
“I wouldn’t lie to you.” He tucks a loose strand of hair behind my ear. “There’s not a lot of people that would adjust to this sort of lifestyle so well. You’ve got a gift.”
“I’ve got a great leader,” I reply, standing on my tiptoes. “You.”
He laughs softly, placing one hand on each side of my waist.
“Is that so?” he asks.
“Yes.” I kiss his cheek. “Thank you, Chris. For everything.”
“Don’t thank me yet.”

As the Collapse series is one of my favorite ongoing dystopian stories, I am always excited when a new book is out. I love Cassidy, Chris, and the world in which they live. I assumed wrongly that this book would be the last in the series, but I still wasn’t disappointed in the events that took place in this installment.
After the ending in book two, I couldn’t wait to see what would happen to Cassidy. I like that she did some more growing in this book, taking charge of situations, and pushing her emotions to the back of her mind whenever she could. I love that she still managed to be human, and that we still got glimpses of the girl she was back in book one. She still has insecurities about Chris, but I loved the fact that she didn’t let them get to her. I still think she’s a great narrator for this series, and am anticipating even more character development in the next story, due to what happened at the end of this one.
The side characters were great, as usual. I still think Chris is an amazing love interest, although I am starting to wonder what’s holding him back from declaring his feelings for Cassidy. I was sad that there wasn’t any big scenes between the two of them, but it was wartime. I love the friendship between Sophia and Cassidy, and I think that this was a more prominent element in the story than her romance with Chris, since everyone was busy doing things for the war. Vera was a new character that I don’t have figured out yet, but am hoping to learn more about her in book four. The animosity that Vera has for Cassidy seemed weird, but I’m really hoping that there is an explanation given at some point. Cassidy’s dad put in an appearance as well, and I thought some of his actions were a bit too much, but then, maybe they’re just right for a protective parent.
This books’ plot was all about war. After the huge betrayal in book two, the Freedom Fighters needed to do some serious regrouping. They ended up joining first one organization, and then another. There was action in this book, but it was slow to start. There were some awful scenes, and it really made me feel the horrible atmosphere of war.
Overall, I really liked this installment in the series. I thought it painted a realistic picture of war, and it showed what awful things can happen. There was a bit of drama that I didn’t quite see the point of, but that is a minor complaint. Overall, I definitely recommend any reader of this series to go and pick this one up. Major things happen, and the Omega plot was advanced quite a bit.
