Blog Tour - Last Breath (Hitman #2) by Jessica Clare & Jen Frederick ~ Excerpt, Ava's 5 Star Review and Double Giveaway!
Regan . . .
I curl up on the mattress, hugging my legs to my chest and waiting. There will be another man soon enough, and then Freeze, so I enjoy the moment of silence while I can. My lip hurts, a bit puffy from where the last man hit me, and I touch it with my fingertips, wincing.
Then, I lay my head back against the wall, thinking. My mind is filled with the gun and the man I was forced to service, and my stomach roils uncomfortably again. I swallow hard and force myself to think of zombie movies, instead. E. I don’t know what movies begin with E. This one will require some thought. Maybe something with “Enemy” in the title.
I ponder this for minutes, staring at nothing, when there is a knock at the door again. I get to my feet automatically. God, I hope it’s not the man with the gun again. I don’t think I could stomach seeing him twice in one night.
But when the door opens, it’s not Freeze.
The man that steps in is unexpected. He’s accompanied by Senhor Gomes, the master, a man I have only seen once but hear about all the time. Gomes looked me over when I arrived and then left, as if I were an uninteresting piece of property.
The man with him is tall, good-looking, and wears a casual suit. He’s got nice brown hair, sharp eyes, and I can tell immediately from the cast of his features that he’s American.
What the fuck. Not again. Not another American jackass. It doesn’t matter if he’s American—he’s here to rape me like all the others before him. Except this time? I’ll know all the nasty, shitty words he yells into my ear.
And later, when he’s done with me and leaves, I’ll feel even dirtier because he’s only made things worse.
He looks me over, his gaze sliding to my star-spangled bikini, and I can’t help myself. “What’s the matter,” I ask, “international pussy not good enough for you?”
"In Daniel's arms I'm whole. In Daniel's arms, the world is safe."
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.*
Move over Nick, there is a new hitman in town and his name is Daniel Hays *insert emoji with goo-goo love heart eyes here* I spent the whole day in my pjs reading Regan and Daniel's story, only pausing for refreshments to replenish my strength to reach the end. I wanted to read about Regan after her kidnapping in book one; I knew her journey wasn't going to be pretty and I was prepared for that. The book jumps straight into the horrible reality that is Regan's new life, my heart was aching for her and it devastated me to think this is reality for hundreds and thousands of women today.
Daniel is a mercenary who has been sent to retrieve Regan. He has a side agenda; he also wants to track down his sister that was kidnapped two years earlier. His plan was simple, get Regan, send her home and carry on finding Naomi. He didn't plan on keeping Regan by his side and he certainly didn't plan on falling for her but boy am I so glad he did!
Last Breath can be read as a standalone, there is enough recap and back-story for the reader to gain the full picture of Regan's current situation but there wasn't too much information that I felt the first book was rehashed. It was balanced well. For some reason I didn't click with Nick and Daisy in book one but I'm so glad that wasn't the case here. I loved both Daniel and Regan. Considering all that Regan had been through, it amazed me that her strength didn't falter, she was a fighter through and through.
"Live with the guilt," she spits out. "I don't absolve you."
Nick had me wrapped around his little finger I loved his character. I was swept up in the story and didn't care if it was right or wrong, I was willing Daniel to take out the bad guys and protect Regan no matter the cost. Daniel had many sides to him I loved. He was protective, strong and very loyal yet he could turn on the charm and showcase his playful, sexy side when need be.
"If we were alone in a dark corner of some bar back home, I'd back her right up to the wall and tell her that not only would she liked being owned by me, but she'd fucking beg for it."
Not to be forgotten that he was also a highly trained, dangerous assassin and this probably made me lust after him more than it should of. His confidence was sexy and the fact he protected Regan at all costs was endearing. Perhaps I should have found the action scenes more frightening than I did sexy. But every time Daniel took out the enemy I couldn't help but swoon.
"With a swift upward jerk of my knee, I introduce his balls and cock to his kidney.” Guess you won't be using that anymore."
What surprised me most about this book was the humour element, amidst the trafficking, pimps and murders I didn't expect this book to be funny. Many times I caught myself laughing out loud at the banter between Regan and Daniel, it worked well between them and balanced the seriousness of the dangerous situations they often found themselves in.
"Little more to the left, sweetheart. Though I have to say, your timing is terrible when it comes to foreplay"
Oh come on. Like I'd blow him in a gun fight."
"I lift her over my shoulder and squeeze one delectable ass cheek. "I'm losing all the blood to my head," she complains. "Not to worry. Soon it will be between your legs." This is a good position because she can't see my smug expression. "That's you Baby Boy." "I thought we'd agreed you'd call me Huge Dicked Daniel."
"Regan can be trusted. I won't have you saying shit about her, okay? She's a fighter, and she's with me. She's not leaving my side." God I love hearing him say those things. For that, he's totally getting a blowjob as soon as I get him alone."
I liked the setting of Rio for this book, as I was reading I could visualise the dirty run down 'favelas' or slums. Their environment was well described and I wanted nothing more for Daniel to grab Regan and run far away from the danger they were surrounded in. The pace of the story worked really well, I didn't want to put the book down and the action was plentiful.
When Daniel's sister Naomi was introduced I actually paused reading to search Goodreads for the next book in the series, I had my fingers crossed that it would be Naomi's story and I'm so glad that it is. I think that will make for an interesting read. I'm still not 100% sold on Vasily so I am intrigued as to whether I will get to see a different side to him.
Jessica and Jen's writing meshed nicely together, the words flowed well and I couldn't differentiate between the two styles, I thought they worked seamlessly as one. They created two great characters I couldn't help but love immediately. Not forgetting to mention the chemistry between Regan and Daniel, it slowly bubbled underneath the surface at the start. Regan was in no fit state to pursue any type of relationship but the interest was there and it was enough to build the anticipation between them. When things finally reached the next level it was hot!! Daniel and Regan shared many sexy times together and I had to fan myself a time or two. Those scenes were very well done indeed.
The storyline kept me guessing, I had no idea which way the story would go and even feared the worst at times. I was kept entertained to the very end. I liked that Daniel had the side plot regarding his sister. It brought depth to his character but it also added an element of intrigue to the story and I liked the way in which it all linked. I would have liked a little more exploration into Regan's state of mind. She had suffered the unimaginable and I did think perhaps she moved on a little too quickly but then there is no guessing what the ‘right thing’ in that situation is.
Last Breath was a great mix of action, mystery, suspense and hot chemistry. It makes a great change from the usual contemporary romance and will have you squirming on your seat one minute and then have you on the edge of it in anticipation the next. I recommend you check this one out for yourself today.
"As I cradle her in my lap I realise that the world could burn up and I wouldn't let her go. Not at this moment. Not until she doesn't need me any more because I can't remember the last time I felt this good. Maybe I never have."
"I'm coming back for you Regan. I won't leave you until you're safe. I promise."
"Because you're too important not to save."
"Sugar, you're allowed to feel any damn way you want." Just don't cry because your tears hurt worse than a knife wound to the gut."
"Daniel is totally and utterly safe. And I want him more than anything."
"You're mine Regan Porter. You don't get to decide if you die or not. Because if you do, you're destroying me too."
Book One . . .
I have been a contract killer since I was a boy. For years I savored the fear caused by my name, the trembling at the sight of my tattoos. The stars on my knees, the marks on my fingers, the dagger in my neck, all bespoke of danger. If you saw my eyes, it was the last vision you’d have. I have ever been the hunter, never the prey. With her, I am the mark and I am ready to lie down and let her capture me. Opening my small scarred heart to her brings out my enemies. I will carry out one last hit, but if they hurt her, I will bring the world down around their ears.
I’ve been sheltered from the outside world all my life. Homeschooled and farm-raised, I’m so naive that my best friend calls me Pollyanna. I like to believe the best in people. Nikolai is part of this new life, and he’s terrifying to me. Not because his eyes are cold or my friend warns me away from him, but because he’s the only man that has ever seen the real me beneath the awkwardness. With him, my heart is at risk..and also, my life.
Title: Enjoying the Chase

Release Date: 25th March 2013
Cover Design: MJWilson Design
Tour Host: All Things Books
Nate Peters is living the playboy life. He has great friends, a great job, no responsibilities, no girlfriend, and he loves it. Nate, being incredibly skilled with a pick-up line, has never failed to get a girl in his life… until one day he meets Rosie York.
Rosie is completely uninterested in him. Being unable to stand a dented ego, Nate makes it his mission to win her over. Not used to putting in much effort, Nate is surprisingly enjoying the chase of this off-limits little brunette. Maybe he has finally met his match… But Rosie has a few surprises of her own which will make it remarkably more difficult for him to get close to her.
*Please note that this is a companion novel to Nothing Left to Lose*
My preparations were already made. A table had been booked at a fairly nice and romantic restaurant, the flowers and chocolates had been bought – I was all set. All I needed before I went was to get my game back, and then I’d be able to charm her straight into bed.
A punch to my shoulder made me wince, and I looked up at Russell, frowning. I’d been off in my own little world thinking about her again, and forgotten I was in the middle of a training, sparring session with one of my teammates. Shaking my head to clear it, I brought my hands up to protect my face again. A black eye wouldn’t help my chances of bedding Rosie.
As his gloved fist came at me again, I jumped back and scowled at him. “Not the face, dude, I have a date tonight.”
“When don’t you have a date?” he teased, blocking another of my punches.
I smiled at that. “True, but I really want this one. She’s a total fox. Man, you should see her. She’s going to taste good.” I winked at him, laughing at his disapproving face.
He dropped his guard and shook his head. “You need to learn how to respect women, Nate. You’re never going to get a girlfriend if you only see women as sex objects.”
“I don’t want a girlfriend.” As I said the words, my mind settled on Rosie again and how we looked in the mirror together, and how she’d held my hand when I was talking to her about the worst aspect of my job the other day. For some reason, I liked that.
Russell sighed and dropped his guard, pulling off his training gloves and throwing them into a pile in the corner. “You’ll grow up soon. I can’t wait to see the girl who makes the player settle down. Damn, you’re in for a serious shock when you meet the girl who turns your head. You won’t know what’s hit you; it’s gonna be hilarious to watch.”
Nate Peters!! I remember him well Ashton Taylor’s best friend in “Nothing Next To Lose” like Aston he was a sexy bad-ass SWAT agent. Nate was funny loyal, protective, confident, and oh so cocky, and such a player, and a man whore who didn’t do relationship, and claimed he was never going to fall in love, and so far he was sticking to this plan until he meets Rosie York Anna’s best friend, and someone who is going to blow that plan right out of the window.
Rosie doesn’t trust men due to a past relationship. She sees Nate for the player that he is. She is immune to his charms, and his cheesy pick up lines something that Nate is certainly not use to.
“I’m not your type? What the hell does that mean? What wrong with me?”
“I don’t go for cocky, overconfident guys that care more about how they look then whether they have something interesting to say. Players just don’t do it for me”.
Rosie and Nate are cute together, and I like the way that things develop slowly, is was insta attraction, but no insta love here, a friendship that turns into more. Rosie is sweet and doesn't take any crap from Nate. For the first time, Rosie made Nate see that if he really wanted her he would have to prove it. Nate was going to have to use a very different approach a bit of old fashion romance perhaps if he wants to win this girl over.
“Moving from one girl to the next sometimes left me feeling empty. Sometimes I just longed for someone to hold, protect and call my own. Since I'd met Rosie I hadn't been able to get her out of my head, she'd taken over everything and I knew I needed to give it my best shot with her.”
The storyline was a well-written sweet, funny romance. Although it’s a longer read the drama, and angst is good, and not too over the top. Kristy does throw a few twists along the way. One that I have to say was emotional; tension filled, and had me reaching for the tissues, as I feared the outcome. Told from Nate and Rosie’s POV. Rosie’s lets you see her worries, and insecurities, about letting Nate get too close. Love the way Nate thinks, hilarious at times, you could see the changes in him, but the was still the Nate we loved.
"I'm not the guy your mom warned you about. Your mom doesn't have this much imagination," I joked, winking at her.”
Anna and Aston are back, and it was lovely to see what happing in their lives. Nate’s family was too funny especially his mum. I loved the scenes with them. His mum was the best.
Overall I really enjoyed this book it was another one of Kirsty Moseley’s books that I would recommend, and that I finish with a smile on my face. It had a lovely epilogue that gave me the HEA that I always love in a book. I would recommend this book as Nate Peters is one of those swoon worthy characters you should meet.
In 2005, I was gifted with the birth of my son. He is, and always will be, the best thing I have ever done in my life. As you can probably tell, I'm a very proud mummy.
I have always been interested in writing, but after the birth of my son I accidentally came across an amateur writing site. After a couple of months of just reading on there, I finally plucked up the courage and posted one of my stories. I was shocked and overwhelmed by the support of readers on there and they gave me the confidence to get where I am today.
In April 2012, I self-published my first novel ‘The Boy Who Sneaks in my Bedroom Window’. And in October 2012 I took the plunge again, publishing my second novel, 'Always You.'
Lastly, if I had to sum myself up in one word, it would probably be ‘daydreamer’ – but unlike most of my school teachers, I don’t necessarily view that as a bad thing. After all, I read somewhere once that books are like waking dreams….

Author: Emma Chase
Series: Tangled #2
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: March 25, 2014
Falling in love is easy. Staying in love is hard. In this heart-pounding follow-up to Tangled by New York Times bestseller Emma Chase, Kate reveals that there is trouble in paradise, when unexpected circumstances force her and Drew to "renegotiate" their relationship.
There are two kinds of people in the world. The ones who look first, and the ones who leap. I’ve always been more of a looker. Cautious. A planner. That changed after I met Drew Evans. He was so persistent. So sure of himself—and of me.
But not all love stories end happily ever after. Did you think Drew and I were going to ride off into the sunset? Join the club. Now I have to make a choice; the most important of my life. Drew already made his--in fact, he tried to decide for the both of us. But you know that’s just not my style. So I came back to Greenville, Ohio, alone. Well, sort of alone...
What I've come to realize is that old habits die hard, and sometimes you have to go back to where you began before you can move ahead.
“I trusted Drew. With my mind, my heart, my body. I trusted Drew with everything.”
There is always that worry with a follow up book, if the first is great, I worry is the second really necessary? After reading Twisted I am on the fence. I LOVED reading more from Kate and Drew, they are funny characters who have the whole sexy argument foreplay thing going on but I must say the storyline is what left me feeling somewhat short changed.
Kate and Drew have been on this road before, and from the character growth in the first book, I assumed they were intelligent enough not to repeat their own mistakes. Alas, that was not the case. I must admit Drew really is hilarious, the way he reacts to situations is comical, there is nothing normal in his repertoire, when his heart is at risk of getting hurt, he goes big before Kate can get to him first. I don’t condone his reaction but it was so over the top I couldn’t help but laugh, that guy has serious issues!
Twisted takes on the same format as Tangled, it starts in the present and we are taken back in time to learn the whole story. This time it is in Kate’s POV and I must say this was something I didn’t mind. Kate was a likeable character, she was strong and determined behind her desk but where matters of the heart are concerned that is where her vulnerability lies.
Much like the first book, the narrative is full of humour and wit. Kate and Drew really are a great mix. As I previously mentioned, I just wish the book had taken on a new direction as they have both been at this crossroads before. With that being said, any time with Drew and Kate is worth it and for fans of the series, I have no doubt you will love Twisted.
The Epilogue is told from Drew's POV and as always it's great to be back in his head. Drew and Kate finally get an ending they deserve but upon hearing they are getting yet another book, I'm not gonna lie, this worries me again!
Dee Dee’s story is next up and she got the most laughs from me in this book. She is the perfect BFF every girl needs in her corner and even though she borders on certifiably crazy, I really can’t wait to read her journey with Matthew.
Drew Evens is one of my favorite book boyfriends. When I heard that Emma was writing a sequel to Tangled, excitement doesn't come close to what I felt.
This time around we find ourselves in Kate's head. Kate and Drew have been together for almost two years. Everything seems to going well for these two. They are in love, their working relationship is great, and most importantly they are happy. So what could go wrong? Everything!
At the beginning of this novel, I was on cloud nine. Kate and Drew were pretty great together. Their usual banter, the one I always found so refreshing and cute, was there as well as some steamy scenes. So I kept thinking to myself: what could go wrong? And again I say, everything! The book takes a turn in a direction I was not expecting, at all. Because of some assumptions and miscommunication, their whole relationship, all that was oh so great, crumbles.
Twisted was different from Tangled. While Tangled was fun and sexy, Twisted is more emotional and angsty.
The epilogue was my favorite part in the whole book. Why? Well, we are back in Drew's head and it was pretty freaking awesome. I realized at that point how much I missed being inside Drew's head. Overall, the story was enjoyable, but definitely not what I was expecting after Tangled. Fans of this series should definitely read this one.
Twisted picks up two years into the lives of Drew and Kate It is told in Kate's POV. As usual Kate is feisty, sassy, and fun. It was refreshing to see Drew and their relationship from her side.
The beginning of this book starts of with a bang. Pun intended! The chemistry between Drew and Kate is undeniable and off the charts. Even more so in Twisted. As an established couple this time around, their feelings for each other are stronger than ever.
“I love you Kate. Everything that’s good in my life, anything that really matters, is only there because of you. If we hadn’t met? I’d be fucking miserable – and probably too clueless to even realize it.”
Twisted deals with a more mature Drew and Kate where they not only deal with their relationship, but topics that come up with any seriously committed couple. Without giving anything away, this time around we see the more emotional side of them both. There is a huge miscommunication that causes trouble for them. We all know Drew and Kate to be hilarious. Which is why we all love them so much! However, we get to see a mature side this time around. Twisted is definitely more angsty than Tangled. It could be because it is from Kate's POV. But don't worry. Drew's witty comments are still there! It was great to see how much they both developed as a couple and as individuals. What they have is genuine and so real.
My favorite part of the book has to be the epilogue. It made the ups and downs throughout the book worth it! It reminds you why Drew and Kate are so lovable. If you have been dying to see what happens next in the Drew and Kate adventure, then I highly recommend Twisted. Cannot wait to see where their story goes next!
Emma is an avid reader. Before her children were born she was known to consume whole books in a single day. Writing has also always been a passion and with the 2013 release of her debut romantic comedy, Tangled, the ability to now call herself an author is nothing less than a dream come true.

Every book in this series brings the heat. And this third installment is no exception. It brought it in ways I didn't even expect.
Asher Knox has it all. He is a movie star, drop dead gorgeous, and he can get any woman he wants. Except one. Megan Beauchamp is Asher's PA. And he wants her. But she has rules. Luca James is Megan's best friend. He also wants Megan. But she doesn't see him like that. Or does she? A turn of events occur and all three end up back in Megan's hometown of Branton. Feelings and secrets are revealed. Nothing is the same.
The sexual tension in this book was off the charts. I found it very different than the new adult books out there. There is a factor in the relationship between the three that I did not expect or see coming. Without spoiling it, I will see it took the book in a completely different direction. I was on one team, and ended the book on both. The pace of the book kept me intrigued. My only hang up is that the book seemed unfinished. Or that could be because I want more. I want to find out what else happens. Overall, if you're looking for a steamy NA book with a different twist, then Sweet Ruin is for you.

Born to a prestigious political family, Avery Adams plays as hard as he works. The gorgeous, charismatic attorney is used to getting what he wants, even the frequent one-night stands that earn him his well-deserved playboy reputation. When some of the most prominent men in politics suggest he run for senate, Avery decides the time has come to follow in his grandfather's footsteps. With a strategy in place and the campaign wheels rolling, Avery is ready to jump on the legislative fast track, full steam ahead. But no amount of planning prepares him for the handsome, uptight restaurateur who might derail his political future.
Easy isn't even in the top thousand words to describe Kane Dalton's life after his father, a devout southern Baptist minister, kicks him out of the family home for questioning his sexual orientation. Despite all the rotten tomatoes life throws his way, Kane makes something of himself. Between owning a thriving upscale Italian restaurant in the heart of downtown Minneapolis and managing his long-term boyfriend, his plate is full. He struggles to get past the teachings of his childhood to fully accept his sexuality and rid himself of the doubts brought on by his religious upbringing. The last thing he needs is the yummy, sophisticated, blond-haired distraction sitting at table thirty-four.
Always is a timeless love story that spans over forty years. It is written in a manner where the entire story comes full circle. It is a beautiful, unforgettable, and captivating story that you will FEEL until the very last page.
"When kindred souls meet, they are destined to be together, always.”
Avery Adams was born into prestigious, political family. He is confident and charismatic. He goes after what he wants in every way possible. He decides to follow his grandfather and start a career in politics. However, those plans become thwarted the moment he falls for a devastatingly handsome, restauranteur, Kane Dalton. Kane had a strict Christian upbringing. He is shunned by his family because of his sexual orientation. When he meets Avery, his life is never the same. Their connection is immediate. Choices are made. In all things. Above all things. They chose love. Always.
Where do I begin with this story? Avery and Kane were quite the opposite in their demeanor, but were perfect for each other in every way. Love doesn't know or understand time. When it's right, you feel it. You know it. That is how I would describe how Avery and Kane fell for each other. While it happened quickly, it is very much real and genuine. As mentioned before, the story is told over the span of forty years. You have to keep in mind that same sex couples were looked at different in the past than now. Many of the stereotypes from the past are experienced and we get to see how Kane and Avery deal with them. We experience them in everything. Their trial and tribulations. We see them fall in love, question their love, and fight for their love.
The flow of this story is quite slower than what I am used to. Perhaps slower than most love stories. However, it's flawless. Every chapter allows you to fall deeper in love with Kane and Avery. I have not read many M/M romances, however I was blown away at the depth of of the love and romance contained in this story. There is no questioning what they have found in each other. They have found love, peace, solace. They found their happiness. Their journey is eloquently captured in this story. It is beautiful, thought provoking, and completely consuming. The emotions in this story are raw. You don't read this story. You live it.
Overall, Always is a story about true all consuming love and acceptance and it has to be one of the most beautiful reads of the year. Their love goes beyond the happily ever after. You feel the ever-lasting bond between Kane and Avery in life and beyond. Love always win. In all things, choose love. Always.
"I don't want to live without you, ever. I want us together always."
This was my first book by Kindle Alexander; I guess I had a preconceived notion that Always was going to be a fast paced, gritty m/m romance. I wasn't expecting the slow, super sweet love story that it was. Avery Adams was a successful lawyer with a family history in politics and it was only right that he followed in their footsteps, that was until a chance meeting with Kane Dalton. Avery knew from the very first moment he met Kane that they were destined to be together.
"He stared openly at the exquisite man who seemed to rip his soul wide open without so much as trying . . .he looked up into Kane's blue eyes and realised he'd met his one. Kane was meant for him."
Kane struggled with who he was; although he was openly gay to his close circle of friends, his family shunned him the moment he came out and Kane's own religious beliefs had him warring with his sexuality. I really felt for Kane, he was such a sweet character, the quiet brooding type with a heart of gold. His issues made it difficult at times between him and Avery but luckily Avery's determined attitude guaranteed nothing would come between them.
"Goddammit! I can see it in your eyes. We aren't wrong. My love for you isn't wrong."
I'm glad Avery won out in the end as what transpired was a sweet, contenting love story. Always detailed the life of Avery and Kane and spanned over four decades, I witnessed the highs and lows of their life together, the obstacles they had to overcome and the sacrifices they had to make. The layout of the story was different to what I had expected. Usually the H/H meet and after a crazy ride I catch a glimpse of their HEA in the epilogue, with Always, Avery and Kane got together really quickly and the remainder of the story was essentially their happily ever after, as the reader I got to experience every milestone alongside them. Although it was a very sweet read, I did feel my attention wane, I wanted a little more angst from the story line (said by the girl who usually avoids lots of drama) I just felt everything was perfect in their world. Even potential problems were resolved quickly, it felt monotone to me, everything was on an even keel and I just wanted a little bit more from the plot.
Always begins in 1975, ends in the present day and is set in the political world. I won't pretend to know anything about America in that era but I was surprised everyone was so accepting of Kane and Avery's relationship, asides from Kane's family, no one objected their union and they were spared from the prejudice of others, or the story certainly didn’t focus on that side. Of course I was happy about that but knowing we still have a long way to go in our world today, I expected things to be tougher for an openly gay couple back then and I wondered why that wasn't the case for Kane and Avery. Again, this comes back to the overall theme of no conflict and everything being smooth sailing.
Kindle Alexander created some endearing characters; Paulie and Kennedy were both a pillar of strength for the men. Avery's character slightly outshone Kane's and I felt I didn't get to know Kane just as well. I sometimes struggle with third person narrative and perhaps that's why I didn't connect as well as I could have.
I did shed a tear or two, I am a sucker for romance and Kane and Avery really did have an everlasting connection. I know the author tried to convey this at the end but the way in which it was written took me out of the story and I felt it didn't really work for me.
Overall, Always is a long standing love story between two great men who were lucky enough to find their soul mate and prove to each other and the world that love is eternal.
"You're my always."

I tragically lost my sixteen year old daughter to a drunk driver. She had just been at home, it was early in the night and I heard the accident happen. I'll never forget that moment. The sirens were immediate and something inside me just knew. I left my house, drove straight to the accident on nothing more than instinct. I got to be there when my little girl died - weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn't have to be alone.
That time in my life was terrible. It's everything you think it would be times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have it all ripped away so suddenly broke me.
Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness - it was her name and she died a few weeks before Amazon released their brand new Kindle ereader. She had no idea it was coming out and she would have finally gotten her name on something! Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it.. It never happened.
Through the course of that crippling event I was lucky enough to begin to write with a dear friend in the fan fiction world of Facebook. She got me through those dark days with her unwavering support and friendship. There wasn't a time she wasn't there for me. Sometimes together and sometimes by myself, we built a world where Kindle lives and stands for peace, love and harmony. It's its own kind of support group. I know without question I wouldn't be here today without her.

Title: Breathe Again (Breathe #2)
Author: Rachel Brookes
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release: March 11, 2014
For Savannah Rae, the thought of living in her picture-perfect world was almost too much to comprehend. With her dream job, a family she could finally call her own, and the beginnings of the best chapter of her life, she still couldn't shake the unnerving feeling that it was all too good to be true.
The thought of a life without Savannah was incomprehensible to Tate Connors. Never in his wildest dreams did he think he would find his girl in the form of a sassy, stubborn, beautiful Australian. Finally he had the girl and life he so desperately wanted, but he still couldn't ignore the fear that it would crash around him.
When Tate’s past becomes his present and Savannah’s present becomes her past, the possibility of a future together collides head-on with reality.
In her darkest days, the words Just Breathe provided a peaceful comfort to Savannah from the heavens above. Now as she and Tate go down the path of new beginnings, brutal endings, and the constant craving of a happily ever after, they are anxious to learn how to Breathe Again.
I’m a big fan of the Breathe series, and I have a special place in my heart for Sav and Tate, and I was looking forward to reading the final instrument in the series. I was luckily enough to get a sneak peak while it was WIP.
Breath Again pick up after Breathless ended were all was not good with Sav and Tate as the one who we all hate and would love to punch Chelsea had managing to put a wedge between them. Tate is now back in LA he wants to make Sav see and knows the truth, not to give up on their love, their family, and future. Sav is finally coming home after her extended stay in New York, but their stubborn side means that they haven’t spoken, but this couldn’t last for long, and with the help of Mr. Davenport these two finally come face to face they have to talk, they have decisions to make about what they really want.
“I’d fight for her. I’d fright the fucked-up situation we found ourselves, and Id fight for the life that I deserved, that we deserved, that Jellybean deserved”
I loved the storyline. I was nervous from the first page, as I was desperate to know what was going to happen, and you soon realize that it wasn't going to be drama free. The story is told in two parts, and just when you think all is okay, stronger than ever happy with their life then something happens that test their relationship once more. My heart ached for them at times as fears, insecurities, and the past threaten their future.
“You need to go through the storm before you get to the rainbow”
Oh my word Sav and Tate were stubborn in this one and as much as I loved them, there were so many thing that I wanted to bang their heads together and knock some sense into them, however everything I have come to love about San and Tate and their relationship was still there, it’s fiery, intense, sexy, fun and passionate.
“There was absolutely no denying his love for me. His heart and soul were a on a platter for me, available for me and me only”
“What I was quickly learning was that the loved we sheared wasn’t like others. We had our own crazy, fucked- up way of loving, and finally. I was totally okay with it."
Rachel Brookes doesn’t give you any easy ride with this one there is drama, angst, secrets are reveled, a few high five moments, humor and a twist or two. I was happy, sad, excited, anxious, and frustrated whilst reading it. It was safe to say I was on that emotional rollercoaster that I loved.
“That’s what we do. We pick up each other’s pieces when we break, and put them back together in our own special way."
Loved seeing Tanzi, Jack, Blake and Mr. Davenport again they have such support, friendship, and love for Sav and Tate. They’re always honest with them, even if they don’t want to hear it. Oh and there was one new character who was just too cute. I can’t wait to get Blake’s story, and maybe a novella for Jack and Tanzi, and another favorite couple of mine.
Overall I really loved Breathe Again. I had a bittersweet feeling as I swiped the last page as even though I'm going to miss them at the same time I couldn’t be happier with the way thing turned out for them, and with an wonderful romantic epilogue that Rachel wrote that left me grinning but also a little teary
Rachel has written a brilliant conclusion to Sav’s and Tate’s story. I loved that the series started on a letter and ended on a letter. Sav and Tate are sole mates, they weren’t perfect, but for each other they were. I have truly enjoyed being on their journey, and seeing how they have changed and overcome throughout the series. I’m so glad that they get the happy ever after that they so rightly deserves.
If you haven’t had the chance to read any of the books from the Breathe series then you must one- click today you wont be disappointed. I’m a big fan of Rachel’s love the way she writes, and the character that she creates, and I can’ wait to read her future books.
“I’m a lot of things but a wannabe porn star fucking on a video is not one of them.”
“So I can punch her in the face?”
“Let me check with our lawyers.”

Rachel Brookes is from a coastal town on the east coast of Australia where beaches, kangaroos and surfers roam free. She writes angsty love stories with a pinch of craziness, a dash of drama, a cup of romance and a spoonful of sexiness… oh and the main ingredient hot guys.
Rachel sometimes forgets to eat, sometimes forgets to sleep and sometimes can’t remember the last time she cleaned her apartment but that’s because she is in a long term relationship with her laptop and is constantly writing. When she does step away from her laptop she can be found taking too many photos, making scrumptious cocktails, laughing at Adam Sandler movies and spending her time with her amazing family and friends.
With her first novel, Just Breathe, due to be released in July 2013, her dream of releasing a book will become reality. With another three books already taking up her mind, she cannot wait to start this crazy ride.
As a standoff of epic proportions began between Chelsea and me. My hackles rose, and I knew I would never back down from her. I wasn’t a revengeful person, but as soon as someone starts hurting the people I care about and throwing around half-arsed accusations, they will see the wrath of Savannah. This could be the very reason I chose to have limited female friends. It was easier than having to deal with the bullshit games girls were notorious for starting, and clearly this was why I never hid my intentions when it came to men in the past. Be clear as day and no feelings came to the surface. I felt Mr. Davenport sigh beside me and I swallowed hard. Professional, Savannah. For him.
I still didn’t back down as I spoke. “So I am assuming the—”
“Um, excuse me? I was told that I needed to be here.”
Our heads snapped to the door opening slowly, and I couldn’t believe who I was looking at, could this day get any weirder? Blake freaking Ryan had just walked through the door looking all rock star-ish. This was the first time we had seen each other since he had left New York for London.
His eyes widened to the size of saucers as he took everything in. Dressed head to toe in black, he was wearing a shirt that sat snug against his body, and his tattoos were glistening under the boardroom lights. He was born to be a rock star.
His eyes bounced between Tate and me and dropped to my hand gripped tightly in Tate’s and a smile tugged at his lips. Tate’s body stiffened against mine and his hand squeezed mine to the point of hurt like he was making his claim on me.
“Stop it,” I hissed and shot him a pleading look.
“Sorry, just habit,” he whispered then peppered my jaw with a kiss.
“Thanks for coming in, Blake.” Mr. Davenport shuffled papers on the large conference table and looked towards Blake, holding out a pen and what looked to be a contract. “So you have been booked for the shoot next week and we are now just finalizing details. Savannah will be running the shoot on behalf of Beautify and Chelsea will be the female model for the campaign. If you can just sign here, we are good to go.”
Blake shook his head and shot a disgusted look at Chelsea. “Are you serious? I can’t work with her.”
“See? I told you, Savannah. Even Blake doesn’t want to work with you in your pathetic little fairytale world you are supposedly living in,” Chelsea spat before she threw her straw-looking hair over her shoulder and strutted towards Blake. I watched Blake closely; the look sweeping over his face was priceless.
“I wasn’t talking about Savannah, you idiot. I cannot work with you, Chelsea. I tend to not want to associate with fucked-up, conniving bitches.”
I couldn’t hide the smile of victory tugging on my lips. Blake Ryan, you genius. The look of utter devastation Chelsea was wearing made me feel like a million bucks. I still had no clue of the history that Chelsea and Blake shared.
“Well isn’t this going to be a fun shoot,” Mr. Davenport mumbled under his breath.

Title: Hit the Wall (Blythe College #2)
Author: Rochelle Paige
Genre: New Adult Romance
Release Date: March 10, 2014
Jackson thought he knew what love was and feels like he missed his chance at happiness. He realizes he wasted his chances by chasing after one-night stands instead of going after what he really wanted.
Kaylie knows what loss feels like and doesn't want to take a chance on love. She puts up walls to keep her heart protected from experiencing that kind of pain again.
What happens when a guy who refuses to lose out again meets a girl who resists him as much as she can? Will Jackson be able to hit the wall Kaylie has put up and knock it down?
When Drake calmed down and listened to me, the look of horror on his face told me that he loved her, too. My worst fear was confirmed when he refused to budge from her dorm, unwilling to go anywhere until he could find Lex. By the time Aubrey finally answered her phone, I felt sorry for the guy. He was a total wreck from knowing how much he had hurt Lex. If she forgave him, he wasn’t ever going to let her go. So I had to do it.
Now here I was, on my way to find Sasha to make sure she didn’t interfere in their relationship again. Talk about an awkward conversation. I had to talk to a chick I’d banged the fuck out of last year. About not messing with the girl I was in love with and her boyfriend. The situation was so fucked up that I couldn’t have made this shit up if I tried.
I am the mother of two wonderful sons who have inspired me to chase my dream of being an author. I want them to learn from me that you can live your dream as long as you are willing to work for it.
When I told my mom that my new year's resolution was to self-publish a book in 2013, she pretty much told me "About time!"

Some days feel like years, but in Ember Brycin’s case just the opposite is true. She had only been in the Otherworld for a day or two when she returned back to the Earth's realm. But it is three years later on Earth. Em is now 22. It would matter if she was human, but she’s not. She is a Dae, part Demon and part Fay, with a little Dark Dweller thrown in to make her even more of a freak.
Seeing Seattle rebuilt only confirms she has been gone three years. For her it was not long ago that the Seattle area was just rubble of concrete and death. All done by her hand.
One thing that hasn’t changed, though, is her undeniable connection to Eli Dragen, who is sexy, gorgeous, and even more volatile and frustrating. But her problems go way past him. The Seelie Queen of the Otherworld still holds Mark, Em’s father, and her friends, Ryan, and Josh as hostages. Em needs to rescue them without, once again, getting caught and being used as a pawn to help the Queen regain possession of Earth. At the same time Ember is in hot water with Lars, the Unseelie King, after breaking her contract with him.
As some secrets have come to light others seem to become even more enigmatic. The only truth Ember knows is,everyone is harboring secrets. As Eli’s past is revealed, Em understands more clearly why he acts the way he does and how much their lives are intertwined. But she also knows Eli is holding something back, something that could change their relationship forever.
Em herself continues to wrestle with her feelings toward Torin and her own secret she’s withholding from Kennedy. As the tension for war mounts between the Seelie and Unseelie (Light and Dark), the tension at the Dark Dweller’s compound mounts even more as they prepare to obtain the sword no matter what the price. But is Ember the answer to the location of the sword? Is she the one to fulfill the prophecy? As usual nothing is ever what it seems.
Dwellers of Darkness is book three in this series and it picks up right where book two left off. And since time passed differently for Ember and her friends, it is now three years later and many things have changed. Including Eli. When Ember last saw Eli, they shared a passionate and tender moment and seemed to finally be opening up to one another. When Ember returns, she finds Eli even more volatile than before, with a major chip on his shoulder. But, despite his distant attitude, Ember is able to find some comfort in her new dark dweller family.
Kennedy finds out the truth about her family's history and has to come to terms with the fact that nothing in her life was as it seemed. Ember and her mother have a rough go of things as they try to build a new relationship, after being separated for so long. Lily definitely has her share of secrets and I was more than anxious to have them finally be revealed. Lorcan and Samantha are still causing problems, and Eli and Ember need to quickly work out their issues if they have any hopes of working together successfully. They alternate between jumping each other's bones and biting each other's heads off. The back and forth was definitely frustrating and I hoped that they would eventually get it together and go all in.
The Seelie Queen has sent her soldiers to capture Ember at any cost. Ember also finds herself on the Unseelie King's most wanted list. He didn't take kindly to her breaking their contract. But, finally, his role in Ember's life is more defined. I had my suspicions, but things were not quite as I had expected. Of course, the search for the infamous and much needed sword of light continues and finding it proves to be a difficult journey for all involved. We find out if the dark dwellers, demons, and fairies are able to put their differences aside in order to accomplish their common goal of defeating the Seelie Queen.
Cal and Simmons are still such cute, entertaining characters! I absolutely loved them in this book just as much as the last. Seeing some of the other characters grow and come into their own was also something I enjoyed. Especially seeing Kennedy grow more confident in herself and her history, as well as learning to use her newly discovered powers. Ember is still snarky and feisty, still a really strong heroine. One of my favorites. And of course Eli is still as dreamy as ever.
This third installment in this series was just as action packed, suspenseful and fast paced as the previous books! It had me frustrated, wanting to throw my Kindle, but loving every second of it anyway. The ending was super frustrating, but the next book promises to be out of control in the best way. This series continues to be one of my absolute favorites and I'm so glad to have discovered this story and especially this amazing author. The writing is fantastic and flows perfectly, I'm in love. I definitely recommend this series to anyone who loves a character driven, emotional story that will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time!

The way Kit Rocha writes each sex scene in such vivid, wondrous detail is something you all should read and experience for yourself. It is quite something and will definitely put the rose in your cheeks, so you may want to save this book for an at home kind of read. Hands down one of the best, these ladies know how to write great sex. I must warn you though, if you even have an ounce of prudeness in you, you may want to take a pass. If not, full steam ahead ladies!
In addition to the aforementioned hot as hell sex, there is also the pretty brilliant and intriguing story line of the ongoings in Sector 4. In this particular edition, Dallas, the leader of the sector is out to find the rat who is ripping off his bootlegging business as a product of the O’Kane brand. Again their writing amazes me. I can envision the dark, dangerous corners of the sectors. I can feel the rush of the recon missions into Eden. I never would have thought I would be a fan of a dystopian society, but these books fascinate me beyond all ends. This kind of series is the kind that I never want to stop reading about. There is action, suspense, mystery, angst and of course the highly erotic encounters that only the members of the O’Kane gang know how to provide in such highly intense fashion. I am a huge fan of these books, I only hope you take the chance to experience all they have to offer.
