“I’m done not because I’m done but because there’s nothing left of me to burn. You have it all! You’ve always had it all! I gave up everything so you could have it all! Please! God! Leave me to my nothing!”
A second chance romance with so much heart and pain. If you don't shed a tear, I will have to question as to what happened to make your heart so black. I have many favourite Kristen Ashley books, but THIS, this may be it.
So many things about this book broke my heart. And yet when it finally all came together I felt overcome with happiness. Tears flowed from both sadness and joy, for the pain they suffered and the love they found again.
Whether they were apart or together, I could feel all the emotions on their ride to a happily ever after. The passion they had for each other was undeniable and Kristen did an excellent job of making me feel that. From the flashbacks of how they fell in love the first time, to the hate sex of the present, to the bonding of their souls again and loving each other from everyday on into the future.
Most books, the hero always stands more for me. They say and do all the things that I love to read about in the fantasy romance world. But Millie, is my hero in this book. She showed incredible strength for the gifts she gave Logan. He never knew how lucky he was. HE NEVER KNEW!
I wish he had known. I wish he had a choice. But then I don't... Millie was selfless. So brave in the struggle that made her decision her new reality. My heart goes out to her for the love she gave up, never knowing or never even thinking she would ever have that kind again. Their second chance was so well deserving. It was told so beautifully and there were certain bumps in the road that I appreciated, rather than it falling smoothly into place. I wish I could tell you what that's all about, but I can't. I wish you would just read it for yourself.
Millie is definitely one of my favourite book heroines and this is hands down my favourite book of the year!
I beeped the locks and had a hand to the handle when I heard, “Lookin’ for me?”
When that deep, coarse voice came at me through the dark, my body became paralyzed, my eyes glued to my hand on the handle.
Then it kept coming at me.
“Bitch, followed you the last forty-five minutes. Reb got in touch. Told me you hit Scruff’s.” On the next, the voice was nearer. “You’re lookin’ for me. So tell me what the fuck you want so you can quit lookin’ and I can quit lookin’ at you.” Slowly, I turned, my head going back automatically because I felt him close and I knew what close to Logan meant.
I was five-seven.
He was six-one.
He towered over me, or at least that’s what it always felt like because he wasn’t only tall, he was also a big guy with a big presence.
And right then, it felt like that, especially since his big presence was an angry one.
His face was in shadows, I could barely see it.
But I could feel him.
And I could smell him.
God, I could smell him.
He didn’t wear cologne or aftershave. His scent was all his. And I remembered lying in our bed holding his pillow to me, my face shoved into the sheets, taking him in after I’d made him walk away.
His scent hadn’t changed. Not even a nuance.
Smelling it without warning felt like walking unsuspecting into the street and having a truck slam into you. And that feeling was so strong it was a wonder my body didn’t go careening through the trucks and bikes, slamming into them, shattering every bone.
He moved forward so he was in my space, the smell strengthened and my body tightened to guard against it.
“Woman, after all this time, whatever shit you gotta hand me, fuckin’ do it,” he ordered irately. “You got two seconds to spit it the fuck out. You don’t, you won’t get another chance, and you know I’ll make it that way. So this is your only shot. Take it or get in your fuckin’ car and get your ass outta my world.”
I stared into the shadows of his face, wishing with everything that I could see it.
Apparently, I did this for two seconds because Logan bit out, “Right. See nothin’s changed. Weak. Now get your ass . . .” he dipped his face to mine, “gone.”
And when he did, I got up on my toes and kissed him.
It was totally crazy.
But I also totally couldn’t help it.
He smelled so fucking good.
And he was Logan.
Close. Right there. His face in mine.
He jerked away, muttering a disgusted, “What the fuck?”
But the words or their tone didn’t penetrate.
I smelled him and I’d had a taste.
I was gone.
I lifted both hands to either side of his head, yanked him down to me, and went back in, going for it, giving it my all. Even when his fingers clenched painfully into my hips pushing them back to set me away, I held on tighter and shoved my tongue between his lips.
It touched his, just that, just a touch, and then I cried out into his mouth when I found my back slammed into my SUV.
But it wasn’t his way to get me to let him go.
His head slanted and he forced my tongue out of his mouth when his invaded mine.
And that was when I was gone.
I was already gone but right then there was nothing to me.
Nothing at all.
Except my hands on Logan’s head, his body pressing mine into my car, his smell all around us, his tongue plundering my mouth, all this exploding fire everywhere.
He drove a hand into my hair, twisting it, the pain bristling over my scalp and I cried out into his mouth again even as I arched deeper, pressed closer, willing, like it had always been, to give it all because he was Logan, he got it all.
But also because I knew I’d get it back a hundredfold.
He swayed us forward so his other arm could lock across my back and he kept at my mouth as I rolled way up on my toes, pushing deep, wrapping my arms around his neck, consumed by the kiss and not giving that first fuck.
I was ready to ride it out.
No, I needed to ride it out.
No matter where it went.
He broke away and that was when my hand went into his hair, fisting tight in protest.
“That what you want?” he growled, his voice lower, the abrasion physical, and I shivered with delight.
I wasn’t entirely certain of the question but I answered a breathy, “Yes.”
“That’s what you want,” he repeated, a statement this time, seeking confirmation.
He let me go but took my hand, his skin rough against my fingers. The feel of it back after all these years washed through me and I fancied I remembered every time, in quick succession, from the first night we met to the night before I broke it off when he’d taken my hand and guided me somewhere.
Lost in it like I’d always been lost in it, I followed blindly.
Attached to Logan, I’d go anywhere.
Even if we were walking through fire.
Kristen Ashley grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana, and has lived in Denver, Colorado, and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multigenerational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland, and Kristen grew up listening to the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon, and Whitesnake. Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music and love was a good way to grow up. And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

I wanted to jump.
He made me fall.
As a celebrity, I lived in the public eye, but somewhere along the way, I’d lost myself in the spotlight.
Until he found me.
Sam Rivers was a gorgeous, tattooed stranger who saved my life with nothing more than a simple conversation.
But we were both standing on that bridge for a reason the night we met. The secrets of our pasts brought us together—and then tore us apart.
Could we find a reason to hold on as life constantly pulled us down?
Or maybe there’s only one direction to go when two people fall in love at rock bottom—up.

You ever start a book and immediately realize that THIS is why you read? From the very beginning The Fall Up spoke to my heart. And it’s been beating over this story ever since.
“It was raining. Isn’t that the way all great love stories start….and also usually end?”
Well this is a GREAT love story, but I can guarantee it is nothing like you’ve ever read. Levee Williams and Sam Rivers meet in the most unconventional of places. There is a spark between them the moment they open their mouths to speak. Over time, their meeting place becomes THEIRS. They recognize the sadness in each other as they live with a burden. Every day. They understand the darkness within their hearts because loving someone only brings pain. Something they both know too well.
“Don’t let go. No matter what, okay?”
I cannot discuss the plot. No. You must live this story. Just know that Sam and Levee’s story is inspirational and is one of the most beautiful love stories I have ever read. As I said before you have not read this story. There are some deep and raw emotions here. Sam and Levee are two broken people with heartbreaking pasts. But they find a light in each other. Together, it doesn’t hurt so much to breathe. Life and living is possible. And love? It’s inevitable. But there are some lighthearted moments. This isn’t a cry your eyes out story per se. I’d say its a heartfelt emotional story. It’s REAL. The author places you within the lives of Sam and Levee. You FEEL everything. Their joy, their pain, their laughs. And you WILL laugh. Their banter is something special.
“There isn’t a woman in the world who doesn’t have demons of some sort. No matter who I end up with, it’s always going to be a struggle…..Levee I’d like to struggle with you.”
Oh Sam Rivers. How I love you. Adore you. Let me count the ways. I don’t think I have ever met a man so self-less and loving. While consumed with his own pain, his love for Levee far exceeds any darkness. His heart desires Levee. His soul forever tethered to hers. And you feel the depths of his love just by the declaration in his words. He speaks with conviction. And Levee? Her love saves. All this time where she thinks Sam is saving her? It is she who is truly saving Sam.
"She wasn't the princess. And I wasn't the pauper. She was just a sad girl who liked to write songs. And I was nothing more than a simple guy who was lucky enough to have made her fall in love with him."
Their love consumes. Overwhelms. Their love is powerful. Magic. Their love will captivate you and question love and just how much it can take. But their love endures. It overcomes the darkness. It fights through the pain. Their past? It just makes their love stronger. It solidifies everything their love stands for. This isn't an easy love story, but it's theirs.
“From the moment I first met you, you made the world lighter."
The Fall Up truly demonstrates the versatility of this author’s writing. This is different than her other novels, but equally as brilliant, if not more so. It was such an honor to experience the heart stopping ,breathtaking love story of Sam and Levee. A love that faced it all. A love that didn’t see anywhere to go from being at the bottom..but up. This was easily one of my top reads of 2015.
*** I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ***
I knew from reading the synopsis that The Fall Up by Aly Martinez was going to be one of those books that hits you in the heart and makes you feel and it did.
Levee Williams and Sam Rivers's story was an emotional read at times. I loved Levee and Sam and my heart went out to them both as I discover the reasons why they are both standing on that bridge. Their relationship was never going to be easy, but they struggled and persevered when things got rough, and loved and laugh when things got better. Loved the chemistry that they shared and intense feeling they had for each other. I loved Sam what a guy! So wanting to do what’s best for Levee just perfect.
”There isn't a woman in the world who doesn't have demons of some sort. No matter who I end up with, it's always going to be a struggle. Levee, I'd like to struggle with you.”
With The Fall Up Aly in her unique and beautiful style has written a poignant heartfelt story about two people who are suffering in different ways. Their secrets and past haunt them, but it also connects them. They have found within each other the person to give them strength and courage to take the steps to fall up instead of down.
“She was standing right in front of me, and my body ached to hold her. To feel her. To help her. To allow her to heal….me”
“Sam, you have no idea what you’re getting into.”….“No one ever does. It’s the beauty of taking risks.”
One word did resonate with me in Levee and Sam’s story was fine, and therefore, I totally got the feelings that the word triggered as I read somewhere that FINE also stood for Feelings Inside Not Expressed and so when someone says that they are fine, I always wonder are they really just fine.
“Don’t tell me you’re fine”
Overall, I loved this book and I was captivated from the start, and with some great supporting character that added to the story Aly took me on that emotional roller coaster that love and expect from her.
The Fall Up is definitely a book that should be 1 click today.
“You’re overdoing it, Lev. I know this job isn’t exactly nine-to-five, but it’s not twenty-four-seven, either. You have to stop being Levee Williams all the time and just be you.”
“I know,” I responded.
I didn’t though. I felt like a robot parading around in a lost woman’s body.
Toss in the occasional song.
What little time I did manage to carve out for myself was spent at various children’s hospitals across the country.
Watch a child die.
With every day that passed, the smile became less and less genuine, the pose more and more forced, and the turn took me further and further away from who I really was.
My career was soaring while, personally, I was plummeting. Every single day felt like a terrifying free fall in no particular direction. I was stuck in the middle with no way up—or down.
“You remember that girl, right?” Henry asked, tucking a hair behind my ear.
I did remember her. She was fun and carefree. She loved going out and dancing at nightclubs until the very last song played. She slept until noon if she could. Then, fueled by coffee alone, she’d spend the day with a guitar strapped around her neck and a notepad at her side. She had a huge heart, but she knew her limitations.
Oh, I remembered that girl. I just couldn’t figure out how to get back to her.
Andrew Harper grew up in a house marked by tragedy. His older brother Owen did his best to shelter him, but you can only be protected from life’s pain for so long. Eventually, you end up just feeling numb...and isolated.
Loneliness was the one constant in Andrew’s life. Until one girl, met by chance in a high school hallway, changed everything. Emma Burke was a mystery and all that was beautiful in this world, the only air Andrew ever wanted to breathe. She took the lonely away, and filled it with hope and color, and Andrew would do anything to keep her safe, happy and whole.
But sometimes, what feels good and right is what ends up hurting us the most. And when Andrew and Emma are faced with an impossible decision, Andrew is tested to see just how far he’s willing to go for the girl who owns his heart.
Cuts are deep.
Scars are left behind. And revenge beckons.
When Andrew finally gets his chance, in college, five years after his first love broke him completely, he finds out old feelings don’t really disappear just because you say you hate someone. The more he tries to avenge all that he believes he lost, the more he uncovers the real story of what happened years before.
Love is wicked. But a restless heart is never satisfied beating on its own. Can Andrew and Emma make it right before it's too late, or will the ties that bind them now destroy their only chance at a future?
I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
I have read every single Ginger Scott book. Her writing is magical. It overwhelms me. It challenges me. But Wicked Restless? It’s on a whole different level. It consumed me. I got lost within the pages. This? It may just be her best one yet.
Andrew Harper is a wild one. And so is his heart. When Andrew meets Emma Burke everything shifts. You feel it. They feel it. They are in deep. One night tests their feelings. Choices are made. Consequences are dealt with. Hearts shatter. Years later, underneath the hurt and turmoil, they discover that their hearts still beat for each other. Their souls still tethered.
“It's like he was stolen-taken by someone, tortured, and returned half the boy he was-only to grow into a man with holes and broken pieces.”
But love is wicked. Andrew is still broken. He has never forgotten the past. How much love crushed him. His spirit damaged because of one night. When chance puts him back in Emma’s life he is overwhelmed. Unsure if his heart can forgive. Andrew pushes the limits. He tries to make Emma feel what he did. He doesn’t understand why, but he is compelled to go through with his plan. Love hurts. Emma knows this. But Andrew doesn’t know Emma is hiding something. Something big. And it played a part in their demise.
“You get to come first. I don’t have a choice, Emma, the universe wants you to be my reason for living. I’m a salve to its demand.”
You have never read a story like this. You probably never will. Andrew and Emma are no strangers to tragedy. They find solace in each other until they can’t. And even years later, deep down under the darkness and pain, their love still shines through. Andrew’s tragic soul is spoke to me in this story. The author effortlessly places you within his heart. You understand the battle raging inside. You will love him. Deeply. Because his love? It’s the greatest of them all.
“If you want me – you have me. Or…more clearly…I’m yours.”
The writing is breathtaking. There is something so REAL about the author's words. They are compelling. Powerful. They will consume you. My heart was deeply invested in Andrew and Emma’s story. The author has a true talent of touching your heart with her words. You feel their pain. Their anguish. Conflict. You fall with them as they fall for each other. Andrew and Emma are unlike any characters I have ever met. Ginger pours her heart and soul into her characters and it is felt in the powerfulness of the emotions of this story.
"Emma", he breathes, his whisper against my mouth. "So long...I wanted...I waited."
"I ...I waited. For you. I...I haven't given this to anyone. I saved it. And I'm pretty sure I was saving it for you."
Wicked Restless challenges your beliefs on love. On love that is ceaseless. An enduring love. Their love is selfish. Their love is self-less. Unrelenting. And even those words cannot truly capture the greatness of their love . For their love knows no barriers, it shatters them. Their love simply bears all. Wicked Restless is truly a beautiful and profound story. It goes beyond the second chance. It’s about THE absolute love. The one where your heart beat only knows the one person it can’t beat without. Wicked Restless was a beautiful, touching, and poignant story. It will stay with me forever.
Blog Tour - Feisty Princess (A Sexy Manhattan Fairytale #2) by Michelle A. Valentine ~ Ava and Derna's Reviews and Giveaway!
*I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.*
Feisty Princess continues where book one, Naughty King, left off. Margo and Alexander’s sizzling chemistry is still very much present and it is one of the aspects I love most about this series. I can feel the distaste they both have for each other, yet their animalistic attraction is undeniable. I adore the love-hate dynamic.
Although part two wasn’t as fast paced and tingling as book one, it was still an important part of the story, it was the middle piece as expected. It was great to see a softer side to Alexander, one that deserved Margo and likewise, it was interesting to see independent Margo give in to Alexander’s demands.
The cliffhanger—although not as jaw dropping as book one—does leave things up in the air again and I really can’t wait to read the third and final instalment.
The Manhattan Fairytale series is a departure from Michelle A. Valentine’s other books and it’s one I welcome. It’s a quick, entertaining read that leaves me coming back for more!
*I received a copy in exchange for an honest review*
I was looking forward to reading Feisty Princess, which picks up where Naughty King left off. After a wild few days in Las Vegas, Margo and Alexander discover what happens in Vegas cannot always stay in Vegas.
“Sometimes people have a way of worming themselves into your heart whether you want them to or not”
I enjoyed this next installment of the series just like Naughty King it was an entertaining, steamy and quick read. There is certainly a fine line between love and hate when it comes to these two. The lines of what they really feel for each over soon become blurred as their hearts come into play.
“Alexander King is a very intoxicating man, and it pisses me off that I find it so hard to resist him”
“ I can’t seem to keep my head on straight when I’m with Margo. I need to figure out a way to stop that”
I loved their relationship; Alexander and Margo are still so hot for each other. You also get to see a different side of both characters and a little insight into why they are the way they are
As expected the ending left me wanting to read the final installment now!! Can’t wait to see how it all plays out for the Naughty King and his feisty princess. So please Michelle don’t leave me waiting too long.

The reason I wanted to read this book was because I loved the whole idea behind it. A woman finding a cell phone in a random place, with a sexy sounding stranger on the other side, yes please! And also, I’m not gonna lie, the early reviews were really great and that always grabs my attention.
The story starts off with a young twenty-something woman named Annie McKay who is obviously running from something, considering her living conditions and her change of appearance. She finds herself in an old beat up trailer park with just enough money to get by for not very long at all, and a couple of very colorful neighbors who I surprisingly really enjoyed. Then the phone rings, not hers because she left everything behind. So her natural instincts kick in and she answers the abandoned cell phone only to find a super sexy sounding stranger on the other end.
This is when you meet Dylan Daniels. And you realize that a whole bunch of hidden secrets surrounding these two characters and the trailer park and even the colorful neighbors that I mentioned before will be the focal point of this story. I’m not going to spoil anything but it was very interesting trying to figure out where this story was going to go, and each character had their own mystery laced behind them and I found that very intriguing.
Annie’s relationship with Dylan was very different than anything I’ve read, and I’m not just saying that because most of it was on the phone, but more so because of the bizarre intimacy that they shared as total strangers. It was almost instant that they had chemistry, but they didn’t act on it right away. You could tell immediately that both characters were extremely flawed in some way, but I had no clue what Dylan’s hidden skeletons were. This was just two people finding an escape and release in each other because of the fact that they were strangers. I believe that’s why they felt so connected to each other, because there were no strings attached. And both of them wanted to keep it that way.
When Dylan and Annie or (Layla as she called herself to hide her identity) decided to become intimate with each other over the phone I knew it would be steamy, and it was. But this is where I disconnected with them a little bit. I love terms of endearment, I truly do. And I even love it when a guy calls the girl baby, but I tend to cringe a little when it’s used too soon. And that was the case here in my opinion. I know that sounds silly, but it’s just a turn off for me personally, I’m sure plenty of readers love that stuff.
As much as I wanted to fall head over heels for this book, it just didn’t happen, I liked it well enough. The writing was very good, and it really kept me reading because I just had to know what was going to happen, and the cliffhanger wasn’t a terrible one at all, but I definitely want to read book two, because I do really want to see where these characters go, and what they develop in to. I found myself more connected to Ben, the colorful neighbor than the main character, Dylan. So I’m hoping book two will remedy that. Overall, it was a sexy, mysterious read, with a little more intrigue than romance. But towards the end, the romance definitely appeared.
Molly O'Keefe has always known she wanted to be a writer (except when she wanted to be a florist or a chef and the brief period of time when she considered being a cowgirl). And once she got her hands on some romances, she knew exactly what she wanted to write.

Blog Tour -Owl and the City of Angels (The Adventures of Owl #2) by Kristi Charish ~ Guest Post, Brianna's Review and Giveaway!
*This review may contain spoilers for the first book in the series, so be sure to read that book first.*
Check out my review of Book #1 Here.
*I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.*
What a great return to urban fantasy this was! After a long absence from the genre, this book did the trick of reminding me what I loved about it in the first place. There was adventure, supernatural beings, and of course, the strong heroine known as Owl.
Owl did some much-needed growing in this story. She was still sarcastic and had a tendency to be reckless, as well as a bit selfish. However, Owl began to learn that lying to herself didn’t actually solve anything, and that she needed to think a bit more about what she was doing. Owl’s still not a favorite heroine of mine, but I have a feeling that she could very well end up as one of them.
The side characters in this series are still really interesting. I do love Nadya, Owl’s flashy, Russian best friend. You could really feel their bond in this book, and how much they cared about each other. Owl’s vampire-hunting cat Captain made a welcome return to the series too. I’m certainly wondering what will befall him in the next installment, given certain events that happened near the end of the novel. Then, there was Rynn, Owl’s incubus boyfriend. I really loved the relationship growth between Rynn and Owl in this story, and am hoping only the best for them. It must be hard to be Rynn, trying to protect Owl when she takes such risks during her jobs. Also, I have to say, I really dislike Lady Siyu, and am hoping some bad luck comes her way soon. She was always trying to kill Owl, and I can’t have my heroines endangered, you know. Finally, there was Carpe, Owl’s gaming buddy who’s also an elf. He did some pretty questionable things in this novel, but I can’t help liking him. He’s just too smart and nerdy for his own good.
This book was extremely interesting and fast-paced. It followed Owl as she tried to find out who was impersonating her, which meant Owl was blamed for major crimes she hadn’t committed. These thefts had the IAA trying to follow wherever she went. With guns. Plus, the most highly-publicized incident had to do with the City of the Dead in Syria, which was full of cursed artifacts that people were stealing and letting out into the public. This curse involved a plague which would infect anyone who touched the items. So Owl had to try and stop this impersonator not only for herself, but also to prevent the world from seeing another plague. I definitely liked the fast pace and other parts of the world that were explored in this story. The archaeological elements are a huge draw for me with this series. It’s history meets monsters, and I love it.
In the end, I highly recommend this book, but not if you haven’t read Owl and the Japanese Circus. Definitely read that one first, then pick up Owl and the City of Angels. This series is a highly unique urban fantasy filled with tombs, all sorts of monsters, and the kind of flawed heroine I love reading about. I’m extremely excited for what book three will bring, and can’t wait to see what happens next with Owl and her company.

Title: Hot Shade
Author: Tamara Lush
Genre: Contemporary Suspense Romance
Category: New Adult/Adult
Release Date: 18th September 2015
Journalist Skylar Shaw covers a plane crash on a Florida beach that leads her to a handsome yet mysterious Italian man...and the conspiracy that threatens all he holds dear.
Romance is the last thing on reporter Skylar Shaw’s mind when she covers a plane crash on a Florida beach. Her best source could be a mysterious Italian visitor, but he’s strictly off the record—unless it involves indulging their electrifying attraction. Little does Skylar know, but that crash was only the beginning.
Luca Rossi is hiding a big secret: He’s a journalist, too, and his anonymous exposé on the Mafia destroyed his world. Now, after a lonely year on the run, he will do anything to possess this vulnerable American beauty. But Skylar is as relentless as the Florida glare, and their world ignites with passion, obsession and murder. Soon erotic nights will bleed into dangerous days, and nowhere will be safe from the heat.
“Luca… Well, he was gorgeous and spellbinding. And probably only on the Island for a while which made him instantly dangerous”
Skylar was sassy and not afraid to say what she was thinking and as for Luca, well it was hard not to like him, as I love men with accents. Luca and Skylar are both likeable characters the chemistry between them is passionate and intense, and I totally understood the hesitancy that they both felt at times due to both their past.
“Skylar Shaw was the most intriguing and sexy woman he’d met in years, only at precisely the wrong time”
I liked the suspense element of the story, and there were some twists that kept the story interesting like a crazy ex-girlfriend. I was worried that as I came to the last 20% of the story that there was going to be a cliffhanger or the ending was going to be rushed but it wasn’t. I will say although the ending it was different from what I was expecting I like it, and it all played out well. And Tamara gives you a sweet epilogue that finished the book off nicely.
"This is everything I thought I didn’t want. Or didn’t need. But I’m here now and it’s everything I need and the only thing I want."
Overall Hot Shade is Tamara Lush’s debut novel, and I felt it's written well, romantic suspense story that was also sexy and enjoyable. The dialogue between the different characters, which was told in the third person, was good, and I look forward to seeing what Tamara has next in store for us.
She first started writing in grade school, penning elaborate stories inspired by Raiders of the Lost Ark. After completing her undergraduate degree at Emerson College in Boston, she began her reporting career at a small, weekly newspaper in Massachusetts. Her work has appeared in The Village Voice, People Magazine, The St. Petersburg Times, The Boston Globe and USA Today.
When Tamara isn’t writing or reading, she’s doing yoga, cooking for her Italian husband or chasing her dogs on a beach on Florida's Gulf Coast. She loves connecting with people on social media.

Yet with one look his control will become a thing of the past, and Alasdair will discover that eternal life doesn't always last forever…

Once again, Ella Frank has blown me away with her talented writing, brilliant story telling, and amazing characters. This story easily proves that Miss Ella Frank can do no wrong.
The moment Alasdair meets Leo, everything changes. Something shifts. And the author allows you to feel it. It’s like the air being sucked out of the room. You can’t see it, but you feel everything. There’s only one problem. Alasdair is a vampire. And Leo? Well he’s a human. But that doesn’t stop the unmistakable bond between these two. They become tethered to each other. On a level that is dangerous. Their attraction is forbidden. The sexual tension? Off the charts! And they possess a deep desire that will mesmerize you. From beginning to end.
I will be very vague on the plot as the reader is to immerse themselves in this story. Ella Frank is a literary genius. The entire story is brilliant. Raw. Seductive. Thought provoking, and so well written. The words entice you as you hold on to every one of them. Her masterful writing skills deeply shine in Alasdair as you are placed within this world of sensual vampires and a human that is lusted for. Alasdair is not just any vampire. He is complex and cannot seem to understand why this human has this hold on him. Why he can’t seem to leave him alone. It goes deeper than sex. But Leo soon realizes that Alasdair isn’t alone in this attraction. Leo feels it too. And it is so much more than he could have ever imagined.
While I wouldn’t consider Alasdair a typical normal romance story, I can easily say that it was captivating and addicting. I am still in awe as I write this review. How did the author grab someone like me to read this? That is easy. Her writing. The characters. THIS story. Powerful and consuming, you will never read something like this. Alasdair does not follow the normal recipe for paranormal stories. It shatters the norm. It sets the bar high. And it is very likely that nothing will ever come this close.
This book will have you begging for a hot, sexy, greek vampire to devour you- no joke. I don't read much in this genre, but Ella Frank has reminded me how much I love it. These vamps are so devilishly erotic and they have a presence about them that makes you want to jump in the book just to be a part of their world. Every look, stare and wicked smirk will have you in a trance to read more, and I did NOT want it to end.
Alasdair is a very old, VERY sexy vampire who becomes entranced with Leo Chapel, an unexpected human who has some secrets of his own that will have you glued to the page. I’m in absolute awe at how these words kidnapped me from my couch and transported me into their story. There is so much attention to detail and that brings a ton of mysterious flare to this book, and you really believe that vampires are real while you read along. And dear lord, I WANT them to be. PLEASE let them be real!
There are so many intriguing characters in this book, and all of them have a very specific significance towards one another. My favorite would definitely be Vasilios, he is Alasdair’s sire and you DO NOT want to be on his bad side. He’s outrageously hot and completely dangerous and everything about him makes your skin crawl and melt at the same time. He plays a very important role in this story and I can’t wait to see what kind of trouble he gets into in the books to come. I’m dying to read more about this sexy trio of men, but wait, there’s more! MORE hot sexy vamps who we will get to know throughout the series, and a very feisty hot-as-hell female named Isadora. I can’t say this about many books, but I absolutely loved each and every character, each one has some sort of mystery that needs to be unraveled, and I can’t wait to see how this whole thing plays out.
The banter between Leo and Alasdair is off the charts sexy and scary at times, but the chemistry these two have is undeniable. They have such a strong pull to one another, and neither of them really knows why, but they crave each other and that is a big part of the mystery I believe. Alasdair is greek and when he talks to Leo in greek, and when Vasilios talks to Alasdair in greek, oh my god!!! I can’t tell you how much that adds to the sexy allure of these vamps! I am one thousand percent hooked on this series, and I’m so excited that I don’t have to wait too long because book 2 comes out in January, so I’m thrilled about that. Pick up Alasdair today, you won’t be sorry, Ella’s writing is phenomenal and captivating as usual, and you are in for one hell of a treat with this one.

Now I know soulmates exist.
Nothing has ever been easy for us.
Every fight, every struggle, has been worth it.
I’m stubborn, but what woman isn’t?
She’s hard work and I love the overtime.
He’s frustrating and unpredictable. I hope he never changes.
I love driving her crazy. That’s half the fun.
Lou’s sexy curls.
Honeybee’s pink nose.
He still looks at me like I’m precious and unflawed.
She treats me like I’m the center of her world.
Our future will be full of happiness.
Despite everything, we’re two of the lucky ones.
I took the bait.
She was a lucky catch.
He is the wind in my sail.
She’s the anchor that grounds me.
The wake our love made is beautiful.
Every day I thank God for her.
No matter the hurdles, we’ve jumped them side-by-side.
No matter the obstacles, we’ve made it through together.
For better or for worse, I’d do it again.
I’ll love and protect her all the days of my life.
We made it.
We always will.

My beloved Casey. Your heart is so full. Generous. So beautiful. Casey loves with his entire being. But Casey and Blake? They both loved through pain. Through time. Their love endured. And it bears all. I have been on this journey with Casey and Blake since the beginning. Each book made my heart beat a little faster. My love for these two...a little deeper. And Anchor? I held on to every single word.
Anchor. If you’ve read the first two books in the series you know what Casey and Blake have been through. How many ups and downs they’ve endured. The adversity they’ve had to overcome. But regardless of the circumstance, their love is worth it. Every. Single. Time.
“Loving you forever would have happened whether I got to keep you or not.”
Casey and Blake are no strangers to obstacles . For their love shatters. But their past still haunts them. What they’ve endured to get to where they are is still something they think about. How can they love freely? What do you do when you finally get to love the one person you love more than anything in the world? You love deeply. Unabashedly. Without pretense. You love brazenly. Fiercely. You simply love.
“My love for you owns me. It consumes me. It makes me reckless and sane, with it I’m both weaker and stronger than I’d ever be without it.”
Anchor is the conclusion to a profound and moving love story. This series is for those who believe in the power of love and all it entails. For those who know that love doesn’t see people. It sees their hearts. And that love tethers to the soul. The author is brilliant in the delivery to the conclusion of Casey and Blake’s story. Her words are powerful. Poetic. Her words simply speak love.
“And she loves him. Undisputedly. Unapologetically. Unconditionally. Untamed and completely.”
I will not bore you with the specifics of Anchor. Or where the plot goes. That is for the reader to experience. To truly lose yourself once again in their story. But what I will tell you? Their love? Their love saves. Their love is unforgiving. It’s fierce. Overwhelming. Consuming. They love LOUDLY. You never question or apologize for love. Love simply has no boundaries. For love goes where it belongs. And that is their story. It’s real. It’s raw. It’s not pretty. But it’s theirs. And it’s one of the most beautiful love stories I have ever read.
“...because I carry your heart in mine.”
What an honor to have watched two people fall irrevocably in love. Two people that had no business falling. But love doesn’t care about circumstances or time. If you thought you understood the depths of their love. Or their story. You are mistaken. You cannot simply understand their love and everything it encompasses until you read Anchor. Without a doubt Casey and Blake have been through it all. Their love is a testament to what true love really means. Their love wins.
She cares about politics, but will not discuss them in public. She uses the same fork at every meal, watches Wayne's World while cleaning, and lets her dog sleep on her head. She has always been a writer. In fact, she was born with a pen in her hand, which almost never happens. Almost.
