Lost in Love is the second installment in Kate Perry’s Summerhill series and focuses on Portia. Portia is the sister who always comes across more conservative than the others. She wasn’t my favorite sister, but I have to say after reading this one I feel as if I understand her more, and I have definitely warmed to her. Portia has the most love and knowledge for the Summerhill antiques and her family’s ancestry, but feels that compared to her sisters she has not accomplished much.
Portia feels this may all change when she has the chance of a new job that would be perfect for her, however, in order to get the job there is one condition involving the family jewels. In order to meet that condition she is going to need the help of a charming cowboy/hotelier called Jackson “Jack” Waite, the new owner of the Summerhill estate.
As expected, I really enjoyed Lost in Love, an easy, quick romantic read, low on the drama, but high on the romance and the feel good factor. I enjoyed learning more about the Summerhill history, and seeing Portia go for what she really wanted and deserved. Jackson and Portia are such a fun couple and I loved their chemistry. The dialogue that they had together was very funny at times and it was great to see Jackson bring out Portia’s softer and more fun side.
There is a side story involving Meredith, Quinn and a bucket list that was heartwarming, sweet and funny. And of course the rest of Portia’s sisters were back; Rosalind, Beatrice, Viola, Summer, Titania, and Imogen aka Gigi. Love those ladies!! They are, as always entertaining, and delightful. It’s lovely to get snippets into what’s happening in their lives, and hints of what may happen next for them.
Overall, I really enjoyed Lost in Love, and I’m looking forward to the next one in the series which after reading the epilogue, I would say to be Gigi’s story. If you are looking for an enjoyable, sexy charming, romantic and easy read then this series by the lovely Kate Perry is for you, as are all her books.
