"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us." - Marianne Williamson
We live in a world of darkness and shadows,
where monsters hide and aim to ruin.
And they did.
They ruined us and turned our dreams into nightmares.
But now we're back.
And we're fighting.
Not just for us, or for each other, but for our light.

More Than Him picks up where More Than Her left off, Logan has gone and his friends don’t know when or if he is coming back. I was looking forward to reading the third book in the More series as I wanted answers from Logan Mathews and I wanted them now!! I had to know why he left, and the reason behind why he walked away from the love of his life, and left her heartbroken at a time when she needed him most.
I really enjoyed the storyline; it was such an emotional read at times. Told from Logan and Amanda’s POV it was both touching and moving. My heart went out to both of them. Life away from each other is not easy. They are both suffering; they are both hurt and had so much guilt, especially Logan. The entries to his journal that he kept while away were so emotional, and had me reaching for the tissues, it really showed what Logan had being going through.
"In a life full of shadows, and darkness, and monsters, you're my light. When the blackness fades, and the memories subside, you'll be there. You're always there."
The saying goes "absence makes the heart grow fonder", and it was clearly the case for Logan and Amanda. When they meet again underneath all the hurt, the anger, the pain, and the unanswered questions, the connection they had for each other was still there.
They had a tough time ahead, and hurdles to overcome. Logan knew that leaving was the hardest and stupidest decision he had ever made, and he was going to fight to make it right, to fight for his forever.
"But I'm going back, and when I do, I'm going to fight for her. It could take me days, weeks, months, years. It doesn't fucking matter."
There are many sides to Logan, and during this one I really got to see his vulnerability, and as much as my heart went out to him, he still did a few things that made me want to shake him. Amanda was great, she went through so much too, and was trying to move on with her life. I felt Logan was very lucky that Amanda was so understanding and maybe a little too forgiving at times.
Overall, More Than Him was another great read from Jay McLean that was well-written, and engaging from the start. It had drama, angst, emotion, steam and humour. I cried, I laughed and I didn’t want to put this one down. I can’t wait for the next book in the series More Than Together which is Lucy and Cam’ story. I so love Lucy, and drunken Lucy is just too funny.
Love this series and recommend that you one-click it today.
“There are so many reasons why I should hate you, but I can’t Logan… I can’t hate you…but I can’t feel anything else for you”
"Because I love you. I’ve always loved you. I’ll always love you. And I hope that that’s what you feel when you think about this moment. Loved."
“I don’t need the world, Logan. I just need you.”
“I knew she had the power to make everything better. That’s why I needed her, but it was more that that. It was so much more”
“I just don’t want you to think that it’s because you didn’t mean anything to me. You meant the world to me”.
