Blog Tour: Night After Night (Seductive Nights #1) by @LaurenBlakely3 ~ Ava and Kat's Reviews + Giveaway
“Let me get this straight. I’m being invited to the Big Apple for dinner, a movie , and a little bondage?” “Yes, that would be correct.”
Well after the hot little tease that was First Night, I knew Night After Night was going to be a scorcher and of course it was!
Following on from their extremely passionate night together, Julia agrees to visit Clay in New York for one weekend and that’s all she planned to have with him. A weekend of bliss and mind blowing sex followed, with both Clay and Julia falling for each other, both knowing they need more than just one weekend but Julia’s past surfaces and ruins their time together. Clay won’t stand to be messed around and tries to forget Julia but what they shared over a few nights turns out to be unforgettable.
I loved the chemistry between Clay and Julia; I felt everything between them, the excitement of meeting again, the anticipation of being together and the longing when they had to part. This is the hottest Lauren Blakely book I have read to date, I did worry it would be all sex and no storyline but I thought the steamy scenes were well placed and with a guy like Clay I was not going to blame Julia for being constantly under him. He had a filthy mouth and he was proud of it!
“You can fuck my face hard. When I get out of this car, I want to look like a man who was eating pussy.”
My favourite male characters are the strong, confident types with a true heart and that was Clay. He was very vocal with Julia and what he wanted from her both in and out of the bedroom. Although he had a bad experience in the past with an ex, he was willing to open himself up to Julia and of course, that had me swooning.
"He thought he could deny himself . He almost believed he could forget her. But he was too far gone to let her go. She was his, and there were simply no two ways about it. She had to be in his life.”
Julia was a bit of a Marmite character for me, on one hand, I really liked her and her personality but on the other, I was growing tired of her keeping secrets from Clay, I understood that she was trying to protect him and her loved ones but I was shouting at her just to tell him already! I didn’t like to see him hurting.
It was great to see McKenna and Chris from Trophy Husband again, I love how all the books are connected, it is a great world Lauren created and the storyline did have mystery and intrigue with Julia’s Tuesday night meetings but towards the end I just wanted to Julia to get out of there!
I was torn when rating this book, I can never fault Lauren’s writing style of that I am truly a fan but I just felt this book was cut short. Taking away the prequel that I had previously read, the book comes in at around 160 pages approx. and it did seem like something was missing, when looking at the book as a whole, not a lot happened and I think perhaps it would have been better if the book wasn’t split into two parts. I wanted more in this edition but with that being said I did like both Clay and Julia hence, I was torn, but regardless I'll be reading their conclusion!
Night After Night is a good début into the world of erotic romance from Ms. Blakely. Clay will have every woman squirming throughout this book and will leave them desperate for more of him. 1-click this book today!
There is no denying the smoking hot sexually chemistry Clay and Julia have. From the moment they meet you can practically feel the sizzles and zaps between them.
After their amazingly hot first night together, Clay and Julia realize that perhaps they just have not had enough of each other yet. Neither of them are looking for more than what they shared that night, so going back for more will be safe. Clay invites Julia to New York for the weekend, where feelings emerge and questions arise of the possibility of more. There’s only one little problem, Clay won’t stand for are secrets, a hard lesson learned from the past, and Julia has definitely got hers. So the question is...Is Julia willing to risk the consequences her secrets hold by telling Clay or will she keep them to herself and have to say good-bye to the best thing in her life?
As much as I would have liked the story line of Julia’s issues to move along a bit faster, because I wanted to know the whole story like NOW, I thought this book was a great hot read. I loved the equally strong characters. Their unique rapport with each other was great to experience and really fun to read. Should I mention the sexual chemistry again? Why yes, I think I should. HOT. Clay and Julia are equally hungry in the sex department. STEAMY. Not sure why, but sex in the back of a town car or limo is a favourite of mine in books and you’ll definitely get a good piece of that in this one. Lucky Julia!
And now the wait is on for the continuation for Clay and Julia’s story. Yes this is a cliffy, small, but still there. I hope to see them happy and hopefully Lauren won’t put them through too much in order to get over the separation hump. Cause let’s face it, if it takes too long we’ll be missing all the hot exciting sexy times!
After This Night, releases May 12th and can be pre-ordered now.
Their world was passion, pleasure and secrets.
Far too many secrets. But Clay Nichols can't get Julia Bell out of his mind. He's so drawn to her, and to the nights they shared, that he can't focus on work or business. Only her. And she's pissing him off with her hot and cold act. She has her reasons though–she's trying to stay one step ahead of the trouble that's been chasing her for months now, thanks to the criminal world her ex dragged her into. If only she can get out of this mess, then maybe she can invite the man who ignites her back in her life, so she can have him–heart, mind and body.
He won't take less than all of her, and the full truth too. When he runs into her again at her sister's wedding, they have a second chance but she'll have to let him all the way in. And they'll learn just how much more there is to the intense sexual chemistry they share, and whether love can carry them well past the danger of her past and into a new future, after this night...
