I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Francis Heller has a past that has left her with both emotional and physical scars. Matt Dixon has scars too, but we can't see them. When these two run into each other at a work conference, lines are crossed and all scars are revealed.
I found this to be a very cute romance story. Matt's brother is engaged to Fran's best friend, therefore they are not total strangers. However, the moment they run into each other, sparks fly, and you can feel the connection between the two. As they spend more time together, they realize how life is short. That love has no time frame. That when it happens, you run straight into love, not away from it. Love doesn't come when it's supposed to, it just does. I really enjoyed Fran and Matt's story. It proves that love heals. That true love knows no boundaries and you always end up where you belong.
“Do you know what beauty is to me, Fran? It’s not wrapped up in porcelain skin and eyes that sparkle. It’s the human spirit that shines through when cancer comes knocking…A soul that remains hopeful in the face of devastation…that’s the most beautiful thing on earth.”
Scarred Beautiful is a passionate, heartbreaking story of two people with unthinkable pasts. They were once a shadow of their former selves. Their chance meeting at this conference allowed them to open their hearts and accept love.
The epilogue of this story has to be the best written one Ive read in awhile. It was beautiful, heartwarming, and genuine. I loved that we get to see a glimpse into their future, and really hope we get to see more of Matt and Fran.
I am a wife, a mom, an author, and a lover of all things chocolate, well, anything sweet really. While stuffing chocolate in my face, I enjoy reading young adult and new adult novels furiously, and spending time with my husband and two adorable children who keep me on my peppermint pink painted toes. Those same children who inspire me to tell silly stories that cause hysterical giggles to tumble from their bellies. I love to laugh and love to have a good cry, especially after reading a novel that stretches my soul, one that makes me feel, and lingers in the corner of my heart. I’m a hopeless romantic and a happily ever after fanatic, and I love to write about LOVE. I began writing when I was in middle school, penning anything from short stories, to poetry, and then later moved on to write children’s books. I have now endeavored into New Adult and Contemporary Romance novels and am loving every minute of it. My first novel, Love Love, was released in May, 2013.
