I can count one hand how many m/m romance I have read (ok. maybe in a couple of fingers) and this one has been my all-time favorite. When I first started Try, I had no idea what to expect. But by the end I had fallen irrevocably in love with Logan, Tate, and Ella Frank's amazing writing. This time in Take I fell even more in love with Logan and Take, and I loved seeing how their relationship has evolved from Try.
Take begins right where Try left off. The guys are together, but they haven't really worked out what they are to each other, yet. It was obvious that their feeling for each other went further than the casual hookup, but it was great to see them admit to one another how much they were falling in love.
Things change for the better for these two in this book. I finally got to see them in their day-to-day lives and how they each integrated one another to their daily routines.
If you are familiar with this series, you know that Tate was married before and is going through a divorce. His family is not taking that too well, and now that they know about Logan, things between them go from bad to worse. I really loved that Logan got out of his comfort zone and was there for Tate when his family was being so horrible to him. I had always loved Logan, but in this book I loved him even more. We finally get his backstory and it, of course, was heartbreaking. And I also loved Tate. He really stepped out his comfort (like, way out) and showed the world that he is in love with Logan. It's really hard to say who I love more between these two amazing men (Logan? Tate? Gah!), so I loved them all differently but equally.
This book was almost perfect. The writing was once again amazing and the characters were like no one I have met before, but I did have one problem with it. After a while, I wanted less amazingly hot sec scenes (seriously. Those scenes were HOT!) and more story. I, for one, went into Take thinking that this one was going to be the last in the series, but no. I was surprised to find out that there is a third book coming out. At the end of Take we come face-to-face with Logan's past, so I'm having this situation doesn't wreck too much havoc in their lives even though I know they will come out on top at the end.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. If this is the first m/m series you are considering trying, trust me, you won't be disappointed. I can't wait for book three and a little more Logan and Tate!
“Because around you, all I want to do is fall without thought.”
*I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.*
“You might have done the chasing in the beginning, but Logan..” “Yeah?” “I’ve never been happier than when you caught me.”
Oh how I love these boys I really do. It’s great to be back in Logan and Tate’s world and this time around we got a better look at it. At the end of Try I was left wanting more, I felt Tate’s feelings and new lifestyle wasn’t fully explored and to my delight we got all that and more in Take.
Logan was trying to convince himself what he shared with Tate was still a casual agreement but they both knew what they shared went far beyond that. And I loved reading about their life together and how they made adaptations to integrate the other into their routine.
“[Logan] felt like he was finally where he was supposed to be. The lock that had kept his heart firmly shut away had finally found its key.”
Of course it wasn’t all plain sailing and the biggest problem was Tate’s family. Their prejudices threatened to ruin what Tate and Logan shared and it was up to them both to decide if what they had was the real deal and worth fighting for.
“How he’d gotten so damn lucky, he had no idea, but if it took slicing open his wounds to keep Tate, then he was willing to rip them open and bleed all over himself.”
To my surprise I was #TeamLogan all the way in this book, I could understand Tate was in a horrible predicament but he hurt Logan and I felt all mama bear protective and wanted Tate to make it up to him, which he did, over and over again ;-)
Tate’s situation did force Logan to re-evaluate his life and confront a memory from his past in order to focus on his future and what Tate meant to him. My heart went out to Logan and I loved everything that came out of his dirty mouth!
“This thing between them was so much more than sex. He wanted this night, this moment where everyone knew Tate was with him, to be real –to be the way their life really was. He wasn’t quite sure how Tate would react, but when his lips were taken in a brutal kiss, that was good enough for him.”
“You and nuts,” he mused. “In your coffee, on your ice cream…” He leaned in and added, “In your mouth.”
Take was Tate’s turn to step up and out of Logan’s shadow, he may have been new to this scene and Logan was the only guy he’d ever been with and will ever be with but Tate was a follower no more and he showed Logan just exactly how commanding he could be. Yeah, it was hot.
“Logan reached out a hand, grabbing the curls falling down over Tate’s forehead, and demanded through a harsh breath. “What are you trying to do, kill me? “Tate shook his head. “No. I’m making you mine.” Logan released his hard-on and grabbed Tate’s ass, pulling him up so he could rub their cocks together. “Don’t you know? I’m already yours.”
As always, the sex is in abundance and it is off the charts hot. I love Ella Frank’s writing and I love the world she has created for these two men. We got a greater look into their lives, heads and hearts.
“This was no longer about sex. As Tate pressed his forehead against Logan’s, he likened it to a religious experience. Logan had fundamentally changed him, made him see the light –or the fucking stars –and there was no way he could ever be unchanged.”
Both men were taking a very big leap, hoping the other was strong enough to hold on. Logan’s family made an appearance and it made me really want to read the Exquisite series, as I want to learn all their stories too.
I felt Tate and Logan had reached a good place, all things weren’t perfect but that’s life and they came out the other end stronger as a couple. Even when a face from Logan’s past turned up I wasn’t in a panic as I knew these guys could handle it but I was surprised to find out their journey isn’t over. As I’ve mentioned I love reading about Tate and Logan, this is my favourite m/m series to date. I just worry that a third book may be a stretch. I’m hoping there will be more to the story than Logan’s surprise visit at the end to make me want to read on. I always believe we should be left wanting more and if Ella knocks book three out of the park, then I’ll happily eat my words :-)
If you liked Logan and Tate in Try then you will fall head over heels completely for them in Take. There are emotions, revelations, confessions and a whole lot of sex to be enjoyed.
“You make me crazy and furious and out of my mind with need, but in the end, you make me so fucking happy. I can’t ever remember feeling this way. And no one is going to tell me it’s wrong. No one.”
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Ella Frank is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Her writing captivates you. It draws you in. You don’t just read her stories. You live them.
“Everytime I’m near you, I feel alive.”
Take picks up where Try left off. At this time Logan and Tate still don’t have a title. One thing that is for sure is that they are falling. Hard. And no one is complaining. If you’ve read book one, you know that Tate is still going through his divorce. Logan and Tate face so many challenges this time around. Love? Love is the easy part. They fall irrevocably, effortlessly in love. Their love is challenged and questioned, yet Logan and Tate never sway from each other. In fact, their love becomes stronger. Obstacles get in their way. The past comes to haunt them. Their hearts are put on the line. These men are absolutely vulnerable now. Their souls are left to bare. But love is taking a risk. Logan and Tate learn this. Love is about taking chances. Falling because you know the other person will be there to catch you. Take goes so much deeper into their relationship. It allows the reader to truly understand how these men fell in love. That their love for each other runs deep. They simply love with their entire heart and soul.
“Don’t you know? I’m already yours.”
What I love so much about this book is that it is about LOVE. It is so much more than someone’s sexual preference. It is so much more than a man loving a man. Ella Frank flawlessly and effortlessly writes in a manner where Logan and Tate’s primal need and want for each other is FELT. It is strong, consuming and beautiful. Have you never read a M/M before? I DARE you to read this book and not feel absolutely in love with love and Logan and Tate. The author will easily push her way into your heart.
“Yes I love him. Recklessly and without caution.”
“Because with you, all I want to do is fall without thought.”
The love between Logan and Tate is raw, passionate, and never ending. Their love never fails. Logan and Tate will make you question everything you thought you knew about love. It will challenge your belief in the power of love. If you thought the scenes in Try were hot, get ready for Take. Their intimate moments happened to be some of my favorite parts as they were full exposed. Their love and commitment to each other show during these moments. I absolutely cannot wait until the third book. Logan and Tate are easily one of my favorite couples of all time!
I loved Tate from the very beginning of Try. Logan...not so much. But in Take, I did come around on the Logan front. I felt I was given more of an insight on what makes him tic and how his past affected the way he acts towards Tate. He's insecure about loving again. He's protecting himself, his first love, Chris, really screwed him up and over.
I liked seeing Tate and Logan get closer physically and emotionally. Of course each of them were still dealing with there own self-doubts which really made you feel for them. They also had to deal with the doubts they had about how each other and how exactly they would fit into each others life, if at all. I have to say though, I thought parts of this book to be a tad immature. Tate's guess my name game. The whole Logan being jealous and acting like a baby because Tate wasn't on his Pictionary team. They are grown men, I would have liked to see the jealousy issue shown to us in a different way. What I did love about this story is the passion and sexual chemistry they have together, even though I did tend to skim the sex scenes near the end because I just wanted to get to more of the actual story line.
When I did finally reach the end (keep in mind I didn't know a third book was coming) I might have actually UGH'd out loud. This isn't going to go down well. With this new issue coming out of the woodworks, and the drama with Tate's family, which really breaks my heart, Ella is going to make us go through the ringer, or rather poor Tate and Logan. I was hoping to see them get their HEA in Take, not that I don't mind reading about them some more, I just wasn't prepared for more turmoil in their relationship. But I do know, that when it is all said and done, it will be great, right? Of course! I think this series is really great and of course you should be reading it. Never thought I would be into M/M stories, but this is seriously HOT HOT stuff with a great story to support it! I can't wait for the third book!
When I first read TRY by Ella Frank I knew that I had found perfection. It was the first m/m that I have ever read. Well sorta… I had read scenes with m/m but not a full length novel. To say the least I was entranced and addicted from the very start. That book touched me in a way that no other book has. It wasn’t just the new erotica genre I was experiencing it was a whole new world of beautiful storytelling and intense emotion. I fell head over heels in love with Logan and Tate, and I could not wait for TAKE to come out.
At the end of TRY we are left with some unanswered questions, and some seriously heartbreaking stuff going on within Tate’s family, and the struggle that Logan and Tate now have to endure because of that. It’s so obvious that these two beautiful men need each other and care for each other deeply. That’s not the problem. It’s their mutual disdain for letting their walls down and accepting not only themselves, but each other. They have to deal with each other’s stubbornness and feistiness the whole way through. It’s equally heartbreaking as it is frustrating and HOT all wrapped into one big bubble of uncertainty.
Logan and Tate I BELIEVE have their intentions with each other under wraps the whole time. But the way I see it, it’s only within their own individual minds that they question the relationship. The lust is there, the need is there, the LOVE is there. THEY just need to get there. And they can’t get there until some outside forces are dealt with.
Logan was my guy from the very start of this series, and he still is. The passion and growth and vulnerability you see from him in this book is utterly captivating. He wants so badly to JUST BE with Tate. To have him in any way, shape or form. His character has taken a major turn in this book and I couldn’t be any more in love with him. He’s still the cocky arrogant beast that we love to hate, but he shows his full colors in this story. You simply cannot hate him. He’s this beautifully flawed man with a now open heart for one guy. THE GUY.
Tate… Oh sweet Tate. YUP, not so much ladies. Tate took a major turn as well. He’s no longer the shy demure guy getting seduced by the ever lustrous Logan. Tate has turned his hand in this one. He shows force and gumption towards his man, and he doesn’t back down. Tate was a force to be reckoned with and Logan loved every second of it.
These two go through some major obstacles throughout this story. Ex-boyfriends, ex-wives, stupid family members who SHOULD KNOW BETTER. To say the least I was slightly infuriated by the three above.
My heart broke for Logan at one point, and I just wanted to grab him out of my kindle and hold him close to my heart. There is a scene in this book that just made me cry my eyes out. My fearless Logan was broken, and it was felt deep.
The sex… Let’s talk about the sex. HOLY CRAP Ella Frank can write a great sex scene! Or two, or three! Buttttttttt. I hate saying this because Ella is TRULY, deeply, madly one of my favorite Authors. I felt like there might have been too much sex. Yup, I said it. You would never normally hear that from me, but Ella writes some quality stuff. Her voice has been heard and I love everything about her writing. I think with TAKE, I was just expecting a little more story and a little less sex. TRUST ME, Logan and Tate doing the dirty won’t ever get old for me. But I love them so much as characters that I just wanted more of THEM. The true them. They have such a deep connection, and I felt that the sex overrode the depth of their beautiful characters. They are both so full of emotion and raw strength that I think they, themselves don’t even realize the simple answer standing right before them.
That being said. Logan and Tate will always have a piece of my heart, and I hope that book three will bring me the peace I so desire. And I have no doubt that it will. I think when I fall in love with characters the way I have with these two it just makes me want more. And ultimately I will take them any way I can get them. Do I recommend this book? Of course I do. I’ve told so many people about this series that people probably think I’m crazy. And I most definitely am. READ THIS SERIES. It’s beautiful, sweet, sexy, HOT and oh so memorable.
Here is some of my favorite stuff J

Title: White Collared Part Four: Passion
Author: Shelly Bell
Series: White Collared #4
Genre: Erotic Suspense
Release Date: June 24, 2014
Part Four: Passion
In the thrilling conclusion of Shelly Bell's White Collared series, Kate and Jaxon are finally free to
put the past behind them, but a shocking betrayal could have deadly consequences that neither saw
Compelled by truth …
With Alyssa's murder solved, Kate attempts to fix the damage to her relationship with Jaxon, but
with his reputation and career destroyed by false accusations, Jaxon asks for time to consider their
future. Yet as hard as Kate tries, she can't extinguish her desire for Jaxon, or forget the pleasure she's
found in submission.
Dominated by love …
In an attempt to convince Jaxon they truly belong together, Kate allows him to dominate her
completely, signifying her trust and proving her love. But just as everything she's ever dreamed of
is finally within her grasp, Kate discovers a chilling secret from Alyssa's past that brings her world
crashing down … and reveals a murderer hiding in plain sight.
After the unexpected conclusion of White Collared Part Three, I thought it was all over. Shelly Bell played with me (lol!) I really thought I was wrong, but she threw us one more curve all.
This time around Kate's past is completely revealed. We've had bits and pieces throughout the series, but we finally get the some concrete details. I had lots of questions throughout this book and I was glad to finally get them answered. Nick is just as overprotective of Kate as he had always been, but this time it's making me even more uncomfortable. Jaxon and Kate perfect chemistry and with Nick getting in the way time and time again, I just wanted him gone.
Alyssa's murderer is finally revealed and it was definitely someone I suspected in the last book. What I loved the most about this series was that it kept me guessing. From the moment I read part one, I had a lists of suspects. It wasn't until part three that I really had one main suspect, but once again I thought I was wrong. I loved that this series kept me on edge from beginning to end and part four was the perfect conclusion.
The only problem I had was that I was expecting the BDSM aspect of it to stand out more. Jaxon and Kate do embrace that lifestyle, but I just wanted the author to take it a step further.
If you are looking for a sexy, fast-paced story that will keep you on your toes, this one is definitely for you!
The end to the sexy, suspenseful ride of Jaxon and Kate is finally here. Alyssa’s case seemed as if a conclusion had been reached, secret relationships were revealed as well as connected paths. Nick –as always - was there for Kate when Jaxon couldn’t be and I’m not going to lie, this irked me as Nick was trying to get between them at every opportunity.
The secrets didn’t stop, Kate discovered a link to the past that shed light on new suspects and it made her question everything she believed to be true. This was one of my favourite things about this series, nothing was ever set in stone, shocks and surprises were just around the corner and my theories would be smashed to smithereens by the swipe of a page. I love a book that engages me and from the start I was continually trying to connect the dots and reach a conclusion before Kate did. When the truth finally came out, I wasn’t as surprised as I had guessed the main details and it was great to read the finer details and how they all connected.
The White Collared series is one of my favourite novella serials; it was full of hot passion, a sexy Alpha male and a deep level of suspense and mystery. The first page engrossed me and I don’t think I paused for breath until the very last. I did expect the level of BDSM to be greater, I thought it was going to play a bigger part as this was Jaxon’s background. What we did get was sexy, Jaxon and Kate played their parts well but I was expecting it to play a bigger role.
I loved the way in which the book ended, it was a sexy lighthearted note and further reminded me that Kate is a lucky, lucky girl!
I enjoyed Shelly Bell’s writing throughout the entire series, I was engrossed from the start and she created some intriguing and twisted characters. I highly recommend this series to all fans of Adult Erotic Suspense.

Title: Night Owl (Book #1, Night Owl Trilogy)
Author: M. Pierce
Genre: Contemporary Erotic Romance
Paperback Release Date: July 1, 2014
"Tautly written, complex, and vibrating with a dark sensuality that will have you at once blushing and anxious. You'll think you have this book pegged . . . but you'll be wrong."—Christina Lauren, New York Times, USA Today, and international bestselling authors of The Beautiful Bastard series
From bestselling ebook author M. Pierce comes the first novel in a provocative erotic trilogy where an anonymous online writing partnership turns into an uncontrollable, passionate obsession
At twenty-eight, Matt Sky has the perfect life. He has a beautiful girlfriend, a massive inheritance, and four national bestsellers -- all penned under his airtight alias, M. Pierce.
At twenty-seven, Hannah Catalano is a train wreck. Her boyfriend is a deadbeat and her job is abysmal.
Matt and Hannah meet online as writing partners. Their relationship is safe, anonymous, and innocent...
Until Matt sees a picture of Hannah. Hannah's picture sparks an attraction Matt is powerless to ignore. When circumstance brings Matt and Hannah together, the strangers begin a love story that's passionate, poignant, unforgettable, and unstoppable.
Night Owl is one of the most unique, hot, and just plain awesome books I've ever read. The first time I read in January I absolutely loved it. The second time? I adored it! I loved the story, the characters, and the writing.
Matt and Hannah met on a writer's forum and were looking for writing partners. They began writing a fantasy story and emailed each other what they wrote. But then, one day, their relationship starts to slowly change. Little bits and pieces of Hannah's identity start to reveal themselves and Matt is not a happy camper.
"I was infatuated with a guy I knew nothing about."
Matt is one of those characters that you will never forget and hope to one day meet. He's not everyone's cup of tea, though. Plain and simple, he's an asshole; a complete douchebag. But that's what's so great about him. His type of assholeness wasn't one that turned me off and hated, it was actually what made me fall in love with him! He even made me crack up a few times with the things that came flying out of his mouth! As I look through the notes I took while reading, there's so much I want to say about Matt but can't because it might spoil the story for some. He has secrets. Secrets that if they come out, Hannah will be definitely hurt. At times, I wanted to hate him, but I didn't.
"She turned from my silver-tongued sparring partner into my docile minx."
I also loved Hannah. She was strong, feisty, and embraces the fact that she's falling for a stranger. She didn't back down when Matt was an asshole to her and definitely put him in his place once or twice. The chemistry between her and Matt was explosive from the very first page. Every message, call, and Skype turned the hear up a notch page by page. You just knew them meeting was going to happen sooner than expected. Their situation was one that should have felt wrong, but didn't.
Night Owl is definitely one of the favorite books I have the pleasure of reading. It had great, unique characters with a very original plot. I loved everything about it. I laughed, I cried. At times I found myself on the edge my seat, excited and sometimes scared of what was going to happen next. And the sex scenes? One word: HOT!!!!!! Matt's dirty mouth is one that I won't ever for get *wink*.
I'm anxiously waiting for book two to be released! If you are looking for a HOT, sexy, unique, and well-writing book, do NOT hesitate to buy Night Owl. Trust me, you won't regret it.
"I never want to," I said.
"What? Never want to what?"
"I never want to learn how to say goodbye."
So basically I’m starting this review with bad grammar, and I could honestly care less. This book makes me want to curse just for the sake of cursing. This book makes me want to edit my own review before it’s even done. This book moved me so much that I can’t even bring myself to write a proper review! BUT I’m gonna try my best. Reading about my Night Owl and my Little Bird has completely changed the way I read books. This story was endeavored in such a unique and slightly manipulative fashion, enough to make me think not only twice, but maybe three times. And then did a full ricochet back to WHATEVER! Is there a clear path when reading this book? Hell NO! And that is honestly what made it so special. These characters. This man. This woman. Their triumph. Their surrender. Their Fall. Their Glory.
This book wasn’t just a story to me. I joked around a bit with my co-blogger about my star rating for this book, and I can honestly say that EVERYTHING about this book screams 5+++ stars. The writing alone took me back. Every word was smooth, or funny, or sarcastically sweet. Every variance in the characters’ notions made perfect sense; every movement through the choreography of words touched me somehow. I just REALLY loved it. I fell in love with the words of the originator and I fell deeply in love with the story of Matt and Hannah.
This book holds a very deceptive tone that is somehow revealing in its truth. Somehow the characters manage to deceive one another while simultaneously learning to trust one another. The need and want they feel far supersedes the realistic crutch that their heart holds. These two beautifully flawed people just want peace. Not only within themselves but for each other.
Matt needs to feel free, yet he has obstacles that hinder his every move. When he first meets Hannah he acts on impulse. She is his indifference… his truth. Matt is an ASSHOLE! He doesn’t know how to be socially cordial. And that only adds to his charm. He’s a sickly rude overbearing POS! And I LOVE HIM.
For the record… This book is STEAMY MOTHER FUCKING HOT! I don’t normally like to curse in my reviews but HOLY FUCK!!! Obviously I’m gonna have to edit this for Amazon, but FUUUUCCCKKKK!!!! From the very beginning it grabs you, and then you’re basically done. Do some finger push-ups or something. Like seriously. It. Is. Hot.
If infidelity in books bothers you, read this book. If sly talking arrogant assholes piss you off, read this book. If the true quality of humility and banter in characters’ makes you happy, READ THIS BOOK. Matt and Hannah communicate with each other the way wild animals do. No words need to be spoken. It’s primal and seductively shy, and perfect.
Matt is an Author, with a pen name. The Author of this book also has a pen name. Pen names are synonymous with the book world! And regardless of how I feel about this book, I’m still scratching my head at the irony behind the fact that the MC of this book and the Author of THIS BOOK are equally mysterious. I love it and hate it equally!
This is a true saga. Every single word will drag you in to a deep wistful place where you only want the best for Matt and Hannah. Yet the happiness you desire will be conditional on behalf of the words you encounter through the crazy beautiful pages of this book! I’m in some major deep love with this book, and I suggest you all enjoy a cliffhanger as much as I do. Because the Epilogue alone will make you want more and more… And more. I cannot wait. I need book # 2-- Like now.
“I watched her face as she came. No wonder they called it the little death. Her pain sounded so much like her pleasure, or her pleasure like her pain, and the ecstasy on her face could have been agony.”
“Little bird, he called me. His little bird. And somehow, it made me feel like the most precious thing in the world."
Night Owl Trilogy
I'm about to talk to Matt.
I'm about to hear his voice.
I don't even know this guy.
What the hell am I doing?
He could be a psycho stalker.
We shouldn't cross this line.
I can hang up.
I can hang up now.
Yeah, I'm going to h--
I swallowed and slid down the bathroom wall.
"Hannah, is that you?"
Matt's cool, clear voice swirled in my ear. It was distantly accented—New Jersey, maybe New York—and a little husky.
He sounded sleepy.
He sounded sexy as hell.
I had the overwhelming urge to ask him to keep saying my name. Hannah, Hannah, Hannah. Help me come. Warmth bloomed between my legs.
"Okay then." He laughed softly. I felt my reason melting at the sound. "We'll play the one-sided conversation game. I'm Matt, it's nice to—" Again, he broke into quiet laughter. His voice was rich with amusement, but not warm. He sounded contemptuous. He sounded ready to laugh at anything, simply for the pleasure of laughing with his silky voice.
I couldn't help but picture the devilish eyes that must have accompanied that voice.
Green eyes, I decided. Dark green, secretive and deep like a forest.
"I was going to say it's nice to meet you," he went on, "but I guess we've technically met online. Now we're meeting on the phone. Maybe…" He trailed off. I heard some shuffling. "God, if this is you trolling me Nate, I swear I'm going to break your fucking—"
"Hey! Sorry, I—" I scooted over to the bathroom door, opened and closed it, then sat back against the wall. Brilliant. Sorry, I was soaking my underwear while I listened creepily to your voice. "—sorry, yeah. I had to go in the bathroom. My sister is asleep."
Matt was silent for a moment.
"Is that why you're whispering?" he said.
"Yeah. She's really tired. We're at a motel, we just stopped. Pretty sure the wall between this bathroom and her bed is a piece of plywood, so."
"Well… damn. I wanted to hear your voice. I mean, your regular volume voice." He chuckled. "Do you think you could risk a few words? I'll deal with your sister if she wakes up."
I smirked, imagining a conversation between my hotheaded sis and this glib personality.
"I think that would be a bad idea. But, um. Sure. What should I say?"
"With your normal voice? How about, the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog."
"Okay." I cleared my throat. I was suddenly painfully self-conscious about my voice. "Um. Okay. The… the quick brown fox—"
Laughter exploded on the line. It was loud and sharp, nearly cruel.
"Oh… my god Hannah." I heard a clatter, then some scuffling. "Oh fuck. You were really saying it. The quick… brown fox… oh god." Matt dissolved into laughter again.
I glared at my knees.
"What's so fucking funny?" I whispered.
"Hannah. Hannah, I'm sorry."
I heard him take a few calming breaths.
"Okay," he said. "I'm sorry. Ignore me, seriously. I have a weird sense of humor. That… that struck me funny. You have a lovely voice. Go figure."
Go figure? What did he mean by that?
"Look, is there a reason you wanted me to call, or were you just looking for some late night entertainment?"
"Pretty sure this classifies as early morning entertainment, Hannah."
"Okay. Well whatever. Look, I'm not sure why I—"
"I can't stop thinking about you."
His words stopped me cold.
His words, and something in his voice. Honesty.
"What we did," he continued. "Or what you did to me…"
My throat went dry. What I did to him. It should have grossed me out, the thought of a stranger beating off to a few details about my body, but it didn't. It intrigued me. The heat between my legs pulsed.
"You know what I'm talking about," he insisted. An edge came into his voice at the slightest provocation.
"Y-yeah," I managed. "Yeah."
"You enjoyed it."
"You said you wished I were pounding into you."
I couldn't believe this smooth-talking stranger was dictating to me how I felt.
I couldn't believe I was blindly agreeing.
And I couldn't believe my considerable vocabulary had suddenly been reduced to "yeah."
"Hannah, you made me come so hard. And I did it again, thinking about you. Let me return the favor."
His words hung in the silence between us.
Return the favor. Help me come.
"Yes," I whispered.

Kate knows they have only a few days to find the real killer, and since signs point to a member of the BDSM community, she volunteers to go undercover as Jaxon’s submissive at Benediction-the private sex club where he is a member-to covertly investigate Alyssa’s last few months. For years, Kate has kept her dark fantasies a secret…but a chance to explore them with sexy, dominant Jaxon is just too tempting to pass up.
I really enjoyed part one of this serial. It had a nice balance between the sexy and the suspense. Definitely met my expectations.
From the synopsis, we know Kate is a law student and interning for her long-time crush, Nicholas Trenton. From the beginning, it is known Kate has feelings for Nick; feelings that surpass those of an intern toward their mentor. Kate is definitely one of my favorite characters in this serial. It is hinted at that she carries some serious guilt due to an event in her past, causing her to have panic attacks. This does not hold her her back, though. This motorcycle-riding, leather-wearing woman is strong and determined. She wants to get hired at the firm she's interning at and will do anything to get the job done.
Nicholas is this big-shot attorney whose friend is in trouble. Even though he's civil lawyer, he takes Jaxon's case to keep him from going to jail in the case of his wife's murder. Alyssa's murder is the opening scene in this serial. The whodunit is a mystery to not only the characters, but to also the readers causing a great deal of suspense throughout the novella. Jax and Alyssa practiced BDSM which is the perfect excuse for the prosecution to accuse Jax of domestic violence and killing his wife.
From the moment Jaxon and Alyssa are in the same room, sparks fly and there is an undeniable connection between the two. Nicholas is never far behind, make it known how protective he is of his intern.
I liked Nicholas from the beginning. I loved how protective he was of Kate and how obvious it was to me that his feelings went further than that of a mentor/intern relationship. There was something about him that I couldn't put my finger on, but hope that in the next installment his feelings are explored further.
I'm excited to see where the story goes. I already have a list of suspects and I hope I am not wrong!
If you like the sexy with a twist, this one is for you!
The synopsis immediately attracted me to this serial of novellas. It sounded original and I loved the mystery element mixed with erotica. And wow it did not disappoint!
Kate is a tenacious character working her way up in the corporate world of law. She was interning for her idol Nicholas Trenton and when he said jump she said how high. Kate was vying for the junior associate position and in turn, she went above and beyond for Nick. Her feelings for him were undefined, she admired him professionally but she had idolised him for so long those feelings had morphed into a grey area.
Nick’s best friend was in trouble, he was being accused of murdering his wife and it was up to Nick, with Kate by his side, to clear Jaxon’s name. With the death of Jaxon’s wife, it exposed their extracurricular activities. Jaxon was a Dom, his wife, his sub but the truth was distorted, and Jaxon was made out to be a monster. It was a race against the clock for Nick and Kate to clear Jaxon’s name, all the while Kate tried her hardest not to lust after her most important client but some things were just undeniable.
I really enjoyed this first part. It was a very sexy, quick read. I loved the mystery element and the erotic/forbidden element as they were woven perfectly together. Chapter one was told from the murderer’s POV and immediately my mind was racing, searching for clues. It was great jumping from one suspect to another wondering if they were the voice of evil lurking in plain sight.
A plan was formed between Jaxon, Nick and Kate to infiltrate Jaxon’s BDSM club to search for clues leading to his wife’s demise. Kate may have suggested a little too quickly about going undercover and being Jaxon’s submissive but time was not on their side and I was loving the story so much I just went with it! The chemistry between Jaxon and Kate was off the charts; their ‘relationship’ was forbidden but at the same time, the old romantic in me wanted them to go for it!
This is my first book by Shelly Bell and I really enjoyed her writing, on one hand I loved that we were slowly drip fed some details alluding to Kate’s tormented past but on the other hand, I was desperate to know everything on the spot! She was a complex character and her dark past was her driving force to where she was now.
Kate was in a relationship that was safe and very ‘vanilla’, born out of comfort and familiarity more than anything. The more time she spent with Jaxon, the more she questioned her current relationship. Then there was her bff Hannah!!! Talk about girl code. I think my exact words were, I hope she’s next to go and I rarely wish that on any character but this girl had me seeing red!
Jaxon was the silent brooding type without a doubt. He just oozed raw sexual magnetism. I think he said a handful of sentences throughout the entire book but I was hooked on him. He was Alpha through and through and I couldn’t get enough of his presence.
I’m unsure of Nick at present, he seems to have Kate’s best interests at heart but his competitive side came out once Jaxon appeared and I’m unclear of his intentions towards Kate. The jury is still out on him.
I really can’t wait to see how this series unfolds, of course I have my suspicions already but I know that’s my over active imagination running wild and I can’t wait to see if I’m right.
If you are a fan of sexy suspense then this is one serial you will not want to miss. I’m so pleased I can dive into part two immediately!
- No Cosmopolitans or Daiquiris this girl. Kate’s favorite drink is a Sloe Gin Fizz, although in a pinch, she’ll down a few shots of the gin she keeps in her freezer.
- Kate not only rides a Harley, she rebuilt it and does the maintenance herself.
- Let’s just say if the book took place in the Wild West, Kate would win a gun draw.
- She’s tenacious. When she wants something, she’ll do everything to achieve it.
- She’s loyal to a fault. Good for her friends, not so good for Kate.
- She’s no timid virgin. Kate owns her sexuality and doesn’t make any excuses for it.
- She’s not perfect. She pops her anti-anxiety pills—which she keeps in a Tic-Tac dispenser—like candy, and she makes a lousy cup of coffee.
- She gets sarcastic when she’s nervous.
- She rocks out to Eminem when she’s upset.

Title: Veiled Innocence
Author: Ella Frank
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release date: April 8th. 2014
Tick, tick, tock.
That’s all I have now.
A small room, a photograph, and time.
They want me to trust them and confess my sins.
They told me they wouldn't judge me—they lied.
I thought we could convince the world that this wasn't a crime.
We were wrong.
Time doesn't stand still.
The clock keeps ticking, the world is unconvinced, and now…
Now he is gone.
“I only have me to think of now. Me in this place, with nothing but time. Time to remember or, as they are all hoping. Time to forget.”
Addison is just beginning her senior year in High School and she is by no means an innocent little High School girl, but she’s also not a slut if that makes any sense. This girl has confidence that shoots through the roof, and the looks to back it up but she’s far from perfect and has some pretty heavy stuff on her shoulders. Everybody knows who she is, and what she’s gone through and all of this plays throughout the book. Addison seems to be your perfectly put together High School girl, but I can guarantee that is not the case. I truly loved Addison and had to put myself in her shoes to fully encapsulate her story in my brain, and after I did that I was done for, committed and knew I wouldn’t see the light of day until I read “The End.”
“My ending, staring right at me from the very beginning.”
The bell rings, Addison is late for class with him Mr. McKendrick. She doesn’t even know what has hit her, but I believe it’s that pure shrill type of vibrancy that she has on the outside, now consuming her on the inside. Not even Addison knows how to react right away, but her body does and she slowly and not so meekly begins her seduction of her hot new teacher. She has one goal and it’s to have Mr. McKendrick. Ella Frank is great at the tease, and the way these two go back and forth is the best kind. Everything from Mr. M’s snarky stubborn replies to Addison’s relentless pursuit is done perfectly.
“I wondered at that moment what I’d done to deserve this. Surely, this was some kind of fucked-up karma because the girl in front of me had the face of a woman that would bring men to their knees. Men just like me.”
This story is told behind the eyes of both Addison and Mr. M, as well as it plays out in the past and present tense which I found extremely necessary in order to understand this book completely. I loved being able to see the true insecurities that belonged to Addison, and how she went through the shifting vulnerabilities that plagued her and made her character truly believable. Being in Mr. M’s head had a totally different but equally important role, his POV was more of a clear vision into how he wanted to deal with this new temptation, and how he struggled against his morality and judgment. I know some people feel weird about student/teacher stuff, but in this story it just didn’t matter to me. He was truly a good man and I felt like he always thought about Addison first. Addison was slightly more reckless in her taming of temptation, and I love that crazy girl!
“Addison, it’s natural to form attachments to your teachers.”
“Is it natural to picture them fucking you?”
So as these two go through this little game of attraction and lust, when the good stuff happens it’s REALLY good, like crazy hot. And my anxiety didn’t stop when they finally hook up, in fact it got worse! Because this little forbidden romance isn’t the only thing happening while you’re reading this book! The stuff with the past and the present include a character named Doc who I can’t tell you about, there’s little trinket stuff that I can’t tell you about, there’s places and things and twist and turns and ahhhhhhhhh! It’s so freaking crazy good! And on top of all of that you’re just scared the whole time of them getting caught, not knowing if what they have is something that will last, or if they have to give it up for the sake of what’s “right and wrong” or if someone or something will take it from them, PLUS all of that other stuff I mentioned before! You honestly are driving blind through this book, and have no clue what happens until it actually happens, isn’t that awesome?
My heart was all tied up for the last 20% of this book and I’m not sure how many times I held my breath but it was A LOT. I will say this, there are some really cool and insightful references in this book with some other really cool things that you just don’t see every day in every book. It was truly beautifully done, and obviously Ella did some amazing research. Couple that with her insane creativity and BAM—perfect book. I cried my eyes out and when I finally did reach “The End” I was a total and complete sobbing mess for way more than one reason. This book won me over a thousand trillion percent and I would suggest it to ANYBODY. Even if you don’t typically like student/teacher just try it, the story goes so far beyond that, I promise. I just didn’t want it to end, I need it to go on forever and ever.
“I’ll teach you how to come with a man inside you.”
“Not a boy, Addison, a man. Now go.”
“Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster.”
“You are so fucking dangerous that I’m not sure I’ll survive you.”
“Just remember this isn’t a game anymore. You wanted me, and you got me. But don’t fuck around with me.”
I have read my share of student/teacher romances and I can honestly say that I freaking LOVE them. That was what attracted me to Veiled Innocence, but I was not expecting it to be oh so different from all the other student/teacher romances I have read before. From the very first page, I was on the edge of my seat and the smexy scenes? Holy cow! Ella Frank can definitely write sexy scenes!
I really liked Addison. I loved that she was...how should I put this...forward. She went after what she wanted and threw caution to the wind. She was strong, probably one of the strongest heroines I've encountered, and so broken behind the perfect facade she showed the world. Then she sees the hot new teacher and she wants him, craves him. I liked that she was different from all other high school heroines. She wasn't shy or lacking self-esteem, even at times she acted older than her age by the way she acted.
I could not put this book down from the moment I started reading it. Page after page, I wanted to know the how, when, what, where, and why and this kept me glued to the story from beginning to end. I knew something was going to happen and I knew this something was going to be bad. I held my breath from beginning to end and when all was revealed, I was left a tad distraught.
You will fall in love with this book. The writing is superb and you, for sure, will love the characters and the uniquely, crafted plot. Overall, I loved this book. It was beautiful and captivating. It had the forbidden romance element that always keeps my pulse beating lighting fast, likeable characters, and a somewhat dark plot. I highly recommend you 1-Click this one!
“Temptation had come to visit, and her steely determination would likely destroy us both.”
From all the teasers and snippets I had read I couldn't wait to get my hands on Veiled Innocence, student/teacher romances are becoming my guilty pleasure. It's not that I condone the situation, far from it, but there is something intriguing about this taboo subject.
The prologue grabbed my attention immediately flashing back to a tragic event that still currently haunted Addison, the main character. Addison was starting her senior year at school; she set herself up for the usual mundane task of school that included rumours and whispers of her past and her obsessive quirks and tendencies that stemmed from it. That is until she comes face to face with her newest history teacher Mr. McKendrick. Addison is obsessed by him almost immediately and the fact that he is her teacher and should be off limits does not phase her at all. She sets her sights on him and makes her attraction known,
“Addison, it’s natural to form attachments to your teachers.”
“Is it natural to picture them fucking you?”
Addison was in no way a shy and retiring student, she wasn’t coerced or groomed and she done most of the relentless pursuing. I liked that Addison was a strong character, she was still dealing with her past and had a lot of self-blame and hatred to overcome. This showed a vulnerable side to her. For some reason she seen something in Mr. McKendrick and didn’t stop until she got what she wanted.
“Pulling my hand away from the shelf, I gripped her hair and arched her neck back. My lips hovered over hers. “You are going to ruin me.” That was when she did the unexpected. She placed her palm over my heart and tapped-One, two, three. One, two, three-before whispering, “You’re going to save me.”
Mr. McKendrick aka Grayson had his work cut out with Addison. He returned home for family reasons but never did he think for a minute that Addison would take him on a dangerous journey of lust, passion and love. For being a teacher in charge of Addison’s welfare, he didn’t put up much of a fight and it wasn’t long before his desire took over.
“Was this what it was like to fall? Fall from grace? Fall victim? Or fall in love with Addison? I wasn’t sure but as I continued to move in and out, violating her and every ideal I held true. I knew something was happening to me.”
When I read student/teacher romances, I try to read them objectively but there always seems to be a barrier that stops me connecting with the male characters. I never see them as book boyfriend material and Grayson was no exception. I did feel for him and what he was going through with his dad but there was always a voice at the back of my mind saying he should be the strong one putting a stop to it. Of course, it wouldn’t be half as fun if it wasn’t forbidden.
“Yes, there were some moments of madness, but what is love without some madness? It wasn’t wrong. No-it was just misunderstood.”
The book alternates between past and present and I really liked the format. From the present chapters it is obvious something big happened so throughout the book we are slowly tortured with the past chapters as the events are pieced together. Having the story told this way held my interest throughout the book. The suspense continued to build and I had an overwhelming urge to skip to the end to find out what happened between the Addison and Grayson. However, I held strong and made it through the book in once piece. The delayed gratification was totally worth it.
It took me a while to get into the writing, the story was told from both Addison and Grayson’s point of view but it flipped very quickly without labels so I had to re-read a few paragraphs at the start but I quickly got used to it and appreciated it being told from both sides. I liked Addison and Grayson separately but I didn’t feel their deep connection. Don’t get me wrong, the scenes they shared were hot but there weren’t many scenes between them that displayed it was more than an illicit affair. I think if I were tied to them emotionally, it would have had a bigger impact on me.
The other main character in the story was Doc; he was a real friend to Addison and didn’t once judge her. He was there to help her through the darkest times. The last scene they shared was so heart warming and I really liked his character and the role he played in the story.
This is my second book by Ella Frank and I really enjoyed the different themes of love and history that were intricately woven throughout. The history of Cupid and Psyche and the symbolism behind it, I felt added another dimension to the story and was very fitting indeed.
I really enjoyed Veiled Innocence, it was very well written and my interest was held throughout. I was expecting a little bit more towards the end, for being a student/teacher book I thought something more dramatic would have occurred but it seemed to be more character driven rather than focusing on the plot and it seemed to work for this story.
If you enjoy student/teacher romances then you will love Veiled Innocence. You’re opinions and emotions will be put to the test and the outcome you are rooting for may just surprise you.
I love to read and write contemporary and erotic romances, but I also like to step outside of the box at times when it comes to telling a story that really speaks to me.
I absolutely adore dessert. I could skip the main meal and head straight to the dessert line every time…especially anything that is covered in caramel.
I am a GLEEK (yes I admit it… So? It makes me happy), on the other hand I love Dexter and he makes me happy too, so analyze that!
I love to sing really bad at the top of my lungs, and I often have conversations with myself.
Some of my favorite authors include; JR Ward, Tiffany Reisz, Nalini Singh, Lori Foster, Lauren Dane, SJ Frost and many more.
Last but certainly not least, I am the author of The Exquisite Series, Blind Obsession and most recently Try.

Author: June Gray
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: February 4, 2014
For the first time in print—June Gray’s bestselling erotic romance DISARM.
26-year-old Elsie Sherman has had a crush on her brother's best friend, Henry Logan, since she was twelve years old. Unfortunately, ever since her brother was killed in action, Henry has only treated her as a little sister that needed to be protected. That is, until one night, when one dance ignites a sensual fire between the two, leaving Elsie confused and ridiculously turned-on. Is she allowed to lust after her surrogate big brother who also happens to be her roommate? But Henry has been keeping two secrets--one will bring them together and the other will ruin everything--and it is up to Elsie to decide if their relationship is worth fighting for.
Henry and Elsie have known each other for about thirteen years. Henry was Jason's best friend since they were teenagers. Elsie has had a crush on Henry since the moment she saw him. Neither one knew that the other had feelings for them. After Jason's death, Elsie ended up rooming with Henry at his and Jason's apartment. For the past two years, nothing has changed. Henry treats Elsie as if she were his little sister even though deep inside he's feelings for her are not those of a big brother. But he hasn't acted on those feelings because the timing never felt right. And most of the problem between Elsie and Henry are about the timing in which some events occur which tear them apart as well as push them back together.
I love Elsie and Henry together. Their relationship and their feelings toward each other felt very real. Their banter cracked me up and the angst made me shed a tear or two. I loved their sexually charged scenes but I also loved the tender moments that occurred between the two.
Throughout the story, I had no idea if Henry and Elsie will ever get their Happily Every After, but I hoped that they did. They went through a lot together as well as separately. The characters did infuriate me once or twice, but by the time I finished the book, I loved them. I also loved seeing their interactions through the years from both of their perspectives, from their teens until the present.
Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book and will definitely read more by June Gray. And if I am correct, there is a book two coming out this Spring which is the continuation of Henry and Elsie's story, but this book can be read as a standalone. Enjoy!
"He was my beginning , my middle, and my inevitable end."
I've come to love best friend-turned-lovers romances, I didn't at first but I think there is something about the closeness, familiarity and strong bond between the two characters that I'm starting to fall for. So when I began reading Disarm, I got that warm fuzzy feeling upon discovering Elsie and Henry had been friends for years but harbouring their secret love for each other. One week before Henry is due to go to Afghanistan that all changes and their lives and relationship is altered forever.
Elsie was a resilient girl, she had to be after everything life threw at her. She lost her brother and then when she finally confessed her feelings to his best friend, she soon discovered he too was going to war, to the exact same place her brother never returned from. I felt poor Elsie got the short end of the stick, she was the one always waiting on Henry, left on the sidelines and pining away whilst he had to sort through his demons. But through it all her love for him never faltered and her commitment and faith were two great qualities I loved about her even though I wished she gave Henry a harder time at some points to make him suffer like she did. ;-)
I wasn't immediately drawn to either character, I think I liked the set up more than Elsie or Henry individually, I felt we were told more about their characters rather than discovering them for ourselves. I must admit I'm not a fan of several time jumps in a book and paired with lots of time apart, the romance element fizzled out quite quickly for me. I understood where Henry was coming from, war had made him question his life and the loss of his best friend still plagued them both but as time went on I found myself losing interest in Henry and wanting him 'find himself' a little bit faster.
This was my first time reading a book by June Gray. I didn't mind the story or her writing, I just wasn't in love with it. As I was reading, I felt like I was on the outside looking in, I wasn't totally submerged in the story, I couldn't get right into the character's heads and live and breathe their torment thus preventing me falling in love with both them and their journey. The ending is sweet with no cliffhanger but their story is not over, I do worry that a second book may be about unnecessary angst. I don't think poor Elsie can take much more!
Overall, Disarm was a sweet romance about hope and second chances (although in Henry's case more like third and fourth chances). There were some tear jerking moments that made me feel Elsie and Henry's loss of their brother and best friend. If you love army guys then this one is for you.

And what happens when she has to step back into reality again? Lucien & Sophie's is a story of star crossed love and forbidden passion, a sexual odyssey that spans the globe and changes both of their lives forever. Let it change yours, too.
"You deserve to be adored, and you deserve to be fucked until you can't stand up."
Kat and Stace were telling me how much I needed to read this trilogy and how I would fall head over heels for Lucien, so of course I had to find out more. By the end, I hadn't fallen completely in love with Mr. Knight but I knew I was getting there.
Sophie Black is looking for a change so she throws caution to the wind and applies for a job as Lucien Knight’s PA, a very successful business mogul in the adult sex club industry. Sophie has no idea by sealing her application form with a kiss; she has in fact sealed her fate. She starts on a journey of sexual awakening that will change her life completely.
Sophie is very much married but she has had suspicions for a while that her hubby is having an affair, Sophie can only avoid the advances of her boss for so long before she is giving in to the promise of sexual self-discovery and pure pleasure.
Lucien was every inch the dark alpha hero. Admittedly, it took me a while to warm to him but I think that was due to his character being closed off, as much as he wanted Sophie, he wasn't willing to let her in. This was purely physical for him (but then isn't that what they all say?).
Usually I'm not one for adultery story lines, sure it helped that Sophie's husband was a cheating douche and I wanted her to be with Lucien, I don't condone it but at the end of the day it was fiction and it made for some entertaining reading.
I liked the change we witnessed in Sophie, she started off as this timid girl, accepting the way her life was and as her relationship developed with Lucien and became more than just sex, her confidence grew and she stood up to both Lucien and her husband. Lucien wanted that for Sophie and due to his mother's death he was hell bent on Sophie taking what she wanted, I do look forward to learning more about Lucien's past. We got glimpses of this during their very sexy getaway to Norway, I loved this setting and the tree scene was very hawtt!
The sex scenes were hot, Lucien was hot and Sophie was more than willing. I thought Kitty's writing held some promise, usually I struggle with third person narrative but this did allow me to gain insight into each of the characters, even Sophie's cheating hubby when he discovered he had made a mistake by having an affair for the last three years *rolls eyes* so yes he deserved what was coming.
It took me a while to finish this book, I had to stop reading to fit in a book I had to review for a tour and then I found myself not picking it up in a while, although it was an enjoyable read, I wasn't crazy in love with Lucien. I am glad I finally picked it up again as the last quarter of the book I had left to read was the most angst filled. Lucien displayed a chink in his armour and Sophie's confidence in herself grew. I am definitely intrigued to follow them on their journey and with the way the book ended, I am so glad I can dive into book two immediately.
Knight and Play is a sexy story full of forbidden passion, a well-experienced Viking sex God and plenty of erotic scenes. It is definitely worth a read.
"There was only one thought in his mind as sleep claimed him. He would protect this woman. He wouldn't fail again."
"She instinctively tightened her arms around Lucien, holding him in wonder for giving her the most intensely erotic sex she'd ever known, and in gratitude for giving her the confidence to step back into her old life again as a woman to be reckoned with."
"Sex with Lucien was a cross between the most sweeping romantic movie and the filthiest porn flick; he was feather gentle and filthy erotic all at the same time."
"Some time just after one and somewhere in between awake and asleep, Sophie moved beneath him again. Tangled limbs. Entwined fingers. Damp cheeks. Bruised hearts."
Knight & Stay (Knight #2)
Sophie black has turned her back on both her cheating husband and her sexy, enigmatic boss Lucien Knight. When she hits rock bottom, she finds herself drawn back into Lucien's glamorous no strings, high stakes world of intensely erotic encounters. Bold and beautiful, Lucien is a walking, talking Viking sex god-the ultimate rebound guy. Knight & Stay is a star-crossed romantic adventure that spans the globe from Paris to the glittering artic northern lights, a sexual odyssey of love and lust that changes the lives of everyone involved forever.
I LOVE him!
He's silently romantic.
He's sexy, charming, and witty.
I would let him do anything to me!
I LOVE him.
He makes me want to visit Norway.
I want him to buy me eggs *blushes* and drink champagne with him *blushes profusely*.
I want him to talk dirty to me.
Oh and...I LOVE him!
Kitty wrote a fabulous man here ladies! I'm so glad she shared him with us. And I only wanted to jump into my kindle and hit him once!
The way he steps in and takes charge and to make sure nothing bad happens to Sophie is totally admirable and something we all want in a man. Even if us strong woman think we can take care of ourselves, you’ll still want a man like Lucien by your side. Lucien’s charisma and charm jump off the pages and hold your book loving heart warm and safe, so much so it’s hard to let go and sad when the story comes to an end.
And I love Sophie. Which is kind of rare for me to love a female MC so much because most of them annoy the hell out of me! Maybe I love her cause I want to be her? Lucky, lucky, Princess! She never gave up on her love for Lucien. She ran after what she wanted and got it!
"As a child I loved my mother, and as a man I love you."
"I love every beautiful fucking inch of you, Sophie Black"
Kitty is a beautiful writer whose words float across the pages. The story of Lucien and Sophie is captivating and you will not want to put it down.
They tried to walk away from each other, but when it's true love, that is never really an option. They both learned to trust and love again and they did it together, for each other. They created a love to last a lifetime, a truly beautiful love. I've read a lot of books too saturated with sex scenes lately, but let me tell you, this one has lots and not once did I skip them! They were that great! Their chemistry was hot and steamy and there was never a dull moment. I cannot say enough great things about this book, or the whole series for that matter.
Are you ready to fall in love with Lucien Knight? Oh I really think you are!
Knight & Day (Knight #3)
Kara Brookes hates liars. Dylan Day hasn’t told the truth from the moment his plane touched down in Ibiza. It’s a recipe for disaster. Lucien and Sophie are back, and have set up camp on the sun-drenched isle of Ibiza for the opening of the latest of Lucien’s strictly adult clubs. They’re joined for the summer by Sophie’s best friend Kara, and Dylan Day, Lucien’s newly appointed club manager. The laid back, smokin’ hot surf guy from California seems almost too good to be true… but there’s no smoke without fire. It’s going to be a long hot summer of love, lust, lies and wedding bells. But who will get their happy ever after? Romantic, emotional and intensely erotic, Knight & Day is the thrilling final installment of the USA Today bestselling Knight Series from Kitty French.
"I'd rather have ugly truths than pretty lies."
I was left satisfied with Lucien and Sophie's story so I was unsure how I would like Kara being in the spotlight. I must say I enjoyed getting to know Kara better, she really is a feisty character and she had me laughing out loud many times. Of course I was pleased to see Sophie and Lucien were a huge part of this story and we got two couples for the price of one.
Sophie, Lucien and Kara head to Ibiza to open up another club, a few years have lapsed since book two and their business has only gone from strength to strength. A tall, handsome american stranger turns up looking for work and even though Lucien has every reason not to, he hires him on a whim by his gut instinct alone. Dylan Day hints at secrets from the moment we meet him and as Kara falls under his spell, I knew it would all come tumbling out.
I liked the setting of Ibiza, I felt the author did very well with the feel of the book and it captured the laid back, sunshine feel. I especially loved the 'The Love Tug', Dylan's accommodation during his stay and the scene of many a hot time for him and Kara.
Kara's life had been filled with liars and she told Dylan he would be no exception so he dare not cross her.
"I meant every word of it, Dylan Day. Lie to me and I'll cut your cock off and pickle it."
And Dylan really should have heeded the warning. Of course his past turns up to haunt him and at this point I couldn't help but feel sorry for them both. Kara was in too deep and Dylan genuinely wanted to start a fresh and be someone else, his intention was not meant to hurt Kara but instead set himself free.
There were some really lovely scenes, especially with Sophie and Lucien and their special day on the beach, even for Kara and Dylan it was a lovely time. But Dylan put off telling Kara the truth and I was reading with bated breath as I knew the inevitable would happen and it would all come spilling out.
Knight and Day was a good end to the trilogy, we got to know Kara better and enjoy some hot sexy times with her perfect match in Dylan Day, I was especially pleased to see Lucien and Sophie's lives progress even further. The epilogue sure left me with a huge smile.
I really like Kitty French's writing, she adds depth to her stories and creates endearing characters whilst simultaneously giving us a hot steamy read to devour. Fans of the series must read this today!
