I heard the screen door creak open at the top of the stairs, letting in a sliver of sunlight. Ella came bounding down the steps wringing out her tank top, too busy to notice me. She stood in front of the bathroom door and lifted her wet shirt over her head. I saw the smooth skin of her back, her delicate neckline, and how the baby hairs from her bun had gotten tangled in the knot of her black bikini top.
All I could think about was sliding my hand down the soft skin above her shorts, on the small of her back. I stepped closer and cleared my throat so she’d know she wasn’t alone.
She turned toward me, eyes wide.
“My bad,” I said, my voice coming out hoarse. “Sorry if I scared you.”
Her tits looked fucking amazing in that bikini top and I couldn’t help my jaw from hanging open as I tried to reign in my dirty thoughts.
She stood stock-still as my eyes roamed over her body.
Like she welcomed it. Wanted it. Needed it.
Her breaths became harsher and when my eyes met hers, she held me there, transfixed. I couldn’t have looked anywhere else even if I’d tried.
“You always seem to catch me in some state of undress,” she mumbled.
I moved nearer and noticed how water had beaded in her cleavage. I imagined my tongue lapping up each drop and my hard-on strained against my zipper.
“I’m not much better this time,” I said referring to my shirtless torso and wet cutoffs.
Her eyes skated over my shoulders, down my chest, to the front of my shorts. If she hadn’t had a clue how much she’d affected me, she would now.
Gazes pinned on each other, we both seemed to lose the ability to form coherent sentences. I was close enough to draw her into my arms and kiss the hell out of her, but I restrained myself.
The air between us was charged. It was obvious and imposing. My knees quivered as my urge to hold her amplified. To press my nose along her collarbone and taste her skin.
Ella was biting her lip so hard, I wondered if she’d draw blood.
Looking into her bright-blue eyes, I noticed her dark and thick lashes, the pretty rose color splashed across her cheeks, and the dainty hoop earrings she wore in her ears.
Both of our fists clenched tight, it was as if time stood still. Waiting on something to happen. For one of us to make a move. For someone to walk in and spot us huddled so closely together.
My own breaths were broken and rough and all at once Ella squeezed her eyes closed and inhaled sharply.
“Ella . . .” I closed the distance between us and placed my fingers on her warm arm. “Are you . . .”
I didn’t even know what I was asking. I was lost in her earthy smell, her soft skin beneath my touch, and her lips, moist because she had run her tongue across them.
I noticed how her nipples had pebbled beneath her swim top.
“Do you want . . .” I skimmed my hand up her shoulder to the nape of her neck and she shivered against my touch. She gazed into my eyes and took firm breaths through her nose.
“Say something, Ella,” I mumbled.
She shook her head and then slid her fingers to my waist. Her hands felt like they were on fire and my skin prickled like it might burst into flames.
The anticipation of this moment coiled tight in my stomach as I glided my hip against hers and pinned her to the wall. I was sure she could feel how aroused I was through the thin material of my shorts.
A moan tumbled from her mouth and her head fell back against the brick wall.
I leaned forward and dragged my nose along her jawline, resisting the urge to lick her skin. When I pulled back, the burning desire in her eyes was as palpable as mine.
I knew I shouldn’t take this any further. And I figured she knew it as well.
But now I understood without question that she wanted me. And, fuck, I wanted her.

Reed woke up in a sweat, breathing heavily, as if from a bad dream. But it hadn’t been bad at all. He’d been dancing with Peyton in Audubon Park, feeling her soft skin, tasting her lips, smelling the vanilla. He cursed the dream was over then looked outside, the moon shining brightly through his bedroom window. He thought about calling her and reached for his phone. He saw it was the middle of the night, so any call would have to wait.
Then he decided he wasn’t going to call her at all. He’d be seeing her tonight at the engagement party -- for the first time in 36 days. He flipped through the photos of her on his phone, landing on the one he loved the most, her resting her head on his chest, a small smile on her pink lips. He’d give anything to go back to that moment, to have her in his arms again. It seemed as if Griffin had held her more than he ever did. He threw the covers over his head, trying to get back to sleep and desperate to return to his dream.
But thoughts of tonight, thoughts of Peyton, kept him awake. Over several weeks, he’d tried to let her go but just couldn’t. Despite all the boxing, all the exercise, trying to bury himself in work, he wasn’t strong enough. He’d fallen in love – the first time ever – and now couldn’t recover. She’d been his soft spot, and he’d hit concrete without her, shattering his heart. He had no idea if she was as tortured, conflicted, unsettled as he was, or whether she’d just moved on without a second thought. He hoped she felt like he did. But she sure found a roommate pretty damn quick! His talk with Quinn helped put some things in perspective, but he still didn’t trust Griffin living in Peyton’s house, just a few doors down from her bedroom.
His mind flashed to the possibility that she was bringing some guy tonight. Griffin? And he wasn’t going to ask Bret if he knew whether she was. That would be pathetic and weak. He needed to be calm and strong, though not too strong. He couldn’t just wail on some new guy tonight, not even Griffin -- no matter what he saw, even if her lips, God forbid, touched Griffin’s or some other man’s.
He gripped his pillow tightly then threw the covers off his head, the moonlight hitting him again, shining down an unmistakable truth, one he already knew all too well. He needed Peyton. He needed her to love him.

Genre: New Adult Romance
If someone had told me a year ago that I was about to fall in love, go on an epic road trip, ride a Triceratops, sing on a bar, and lose my virginity, I would have assumed they were on drugs.
Well, that is, until I met Beckham.
Beck was mostly to blame for my recklessness. Gorgeous, clever, undeniably charming Beck barreled into my life as if it were his mission to make sure I never took living for granted. He showed me that there were no boundaries, rules were for the spineless, and a kiss was supposed to happen when I least expected.
Beck was the plot twist that took me by surprise. Two months before I met him, death was knocking at my door. I’d all but given up my last scrap of hope when suddenly, I was given a second chance at life. This time around, I wasn’t going to let it slip through my fingers.
We set out on a road trip with nothing to lose and no guarantees of tomorrow.
Our road trip was about young, reckless love. The kind of love that burns bright.
The kind of love that no road-map could bring me back from.
**Recommended for ages 17+ due to language and sexual situations.**

"I grabbed my first bag and opened my front door to find Beck standing a few feet outside. I took in his messy brown hair, white t-shirt, and dark jeans. Why did a white t-shirt look so good on him? Maybe because it was fitted enough to show off his toned body without being obnoxiously tight? I wasn’t quite sure.
He didn’t say anything at first. His hazel eyes scanned down my body, lingering a moment longer on my bare legs, and then he looked back up at me with a wide, perfectly straight smile.
“Is that all you’re bringing?” he asked, pointing at the smallest of my three bags.
“Hah! Yeah right, I have like ten times more stuff.”
He shook his head and narrowed his eyes on me playfully. “I like a girl with baggage, Abby Mae. Keeps things interesting.”
His comment was too much; it stripped away my normal sarcastic responses. I was left with nothing but the bag in my hand, so I tossed it at him. He had to think fast and catch it before it fell to the ground at his feet.
“Good. Help me load it up then,” I smirked, and then turned to collect the rest of my stuff.
“Don’t forget to go to the bathroom! We aren’t stopping until we’re out of hell!” he called behind me.
“You mean Dallas?” I asked over my shoulder.
I was sitting in the passenger seat in Beck’s old, yellow VW Camper. It had been renovated recently, so the inside was all new leather, but it still had a lot of the classic details.
Our stuff fit easily in the back and he wasn’t kidding about there being space to sleep. We’d have to be really close, but there was definitely room. My face reddened at the thought.
I wedged the urn between my feet so that it wouldn’t tip over, and then buckled my seat belt. When I looked up, Beck was watching me with a bemused smile. My hand instinctively slid over my side braid and my face. I didn’t feel anything out of the ordinary.
“What?” I asked.
He shook his head, but his grin never faltered. “Nothing. Just trying to remember this moment.”
I furrowed my brows in wonder and tilted my head. The sun shone through the windshield of the Camper, highlighting the green details in his eyes. Beck wasn’t movie-star good-looking; he was boy-next-door good-looking— the kind of guy that might not know the full extent of his effect on the female population.
“Why?” I asked.
“Because our lives will never be the same.”
A small dimple formed on the corner of his mouth before he turned toward the steering wheel and pulled out of my apartment complex.
That dimple was the first thing I told myself to remember about the road trip.
Just as we turned onto the entrance for the highway, I peered over at Beck. “Just so you know, my faith in humanity is dangling by a few threads. If you murder me, I’ll pretty much lose all hope.”
I couldn’t keep the hint of a smile from my lips.
He nodded. “And if you murder me?”
I shrugged. “That would just be a good plot twist.”

Title: Finding Autumn
Author: Beth Michele
Genre: Adult Contemporary Romance Novella
Release Date: March 27, 2014
My name is Autumn Winters.
The truth is, that's the biggest lie I've ever told.
My real name is Olivia Redmund. Autumn Winters is the curtain I hide behind. You see, I write bestselling erotic romance novels. But my life is far from erotic. The only fantasy exists in my head.
The day I met Hunter Grayson, that all changed. A handsome stranger on a train who turned my world upside down, made me think and feel things I never knew were possible.
But he's hiding, too.
What happens when I slowly realize that who I truly am is more similar to who I'm pretending to be? I want to be brave enough to tell the world, but the fear is crippling.
Fear of myself. Fear of the unknown. Fear of what others will think.
But life is too short to be afraid.
And I'm so damn tired of hiding.
**This is an Adult Contemporary Romance and due to strong language and sexual content, is not intended for readers under the age of 18.**
"This feels like so much more than just a kiss. It feels like a confession."
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.*
Autumn Winters is a successful erotic romance writer but she only wishes she could be as confident and forward in the bedroom department as the characters she writes. After a chance meeting on the train with Hunter Grayson, Autumn realises there is no time like the present to unleash her alter ego. Autumn isn't brave enough to reveal her true identity to Hunter, who has quickly captured her mind and body but Autumn may be left shattered when she discovers some hidden truths about Hunter too.
Hunter and Autumn intrigued me as characters, I liked the secrets they both had as they withheld the information to protect themselves (and let's face it they had only met for a mere matter of hours) and their hearts. I liked that the book had both Autumn and Hunter's point of view, this worked well as both characters had a story to tell.
Hunter really was my favourite part of this book, he seemed like a genuinely sweet guy and his back story had me feeling protective of him, I felt his hurt and his guilt. I would have loved for this story to be full length so I could get to know him better and truly fall for him.
I like Beth Michele's writing; this is the second book I have read by her. From the onset, I was shocked at how brazen both characters were, this is a different side to Beth's writing but I loved it. Hunter was a sexy, sexy man! I'm not going lie, the 'twinkle twinkle, little star' scene had me cringing, I'm not convinced that has a place in an adult contemporary novel but Hunter's dirty mouth made me quickly forget all about it! ;-)
I liked the epilogue and the time frame in which Hunter and Autumn confessed their feelings, as my aversion to instalove usually spikes during novellas, but this was done in a very sweet and realistic way and had me ending the book on a happy note.
I think there is a certain knack when writing a novella in order to make you feel satisfied when it's finished, I can only think of one or two I have read that ticked all the boxes. Even though Finding Autumn was a quick, fun and flirty read it did leave me wanting more and I felt the climax (pardon the pun) could have been more original and perhaps not resolved as easily? I think Hunter's brother and Autumn's bff will have a book in the works, it seems set up that way and I would love more from Hunter and Autumn too.
If you are looking for a sweet, sexy read then look no further than Finding Autumn.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Whoa. Talk about hot and fast! This steamy novella was more than I expected.
Olivia Redmond, who writes as Autumn Winters, is an author in the erotica genre. She has been burned by her past. She spends hers days engrossed in the lives of her characters. Hunter Grayson is a hot and sexy CEO of a software company. A chance meeting changes their lives forever. During their time together they both bare themselves to each other while still hiding the truth. Hiding is something they're both good at, but sparks fly when they realized they were meant to be found-by each other.
Olivia and Hunter had immediate chemistry. You felt their connection the minute they met. It was hot, exciting, and passionate. I am not a huge fan of novellas as I feel it can be hard to connect to the characters. However, the author did a great job at allowing me to connect to both Olivia and Hunter in such a short amount of time. Olivia and Hunter's connection was genuine and their feelings for each other, very strong. The story flowed well and I really liked the writing style.
Overall, Finding Autumn was an enjoyable read. I would love to see their story continued in a full length novel. Their story is far from over. If you are looking for a hot, steamy, and quick read then this is the one for you.
"Shit,” I mumble to myself when I spy the pink vibrator, glaring proof of my non-existent sex life now on public display. “God damn it,” I utter again, shaking my head and scrambling to grab it, when I notice a pair of beautiful, masculine hands scooping up my belongings. Completely mortified, my cheeks flush a deep red, and I’m silently praying he hasn’t spotted my favorite sex toy.
My eyes make their way from the ground, climbing past the hands and up the length of strong, muscular arms to an absolutely gorgeous face, and I take a hard swallow. A chiseled jaw with a hint of stubble, irises the color of aged brandy, a sharp, sculptured nose, and perfectly tousled hair that matches his hypnotic eyes. I don’t realize that I’m staring until his lips quirk up into a grin.
Could I be any more obvious?
He tosses the items back in my purse and nods toward the vibrator. “I’ll let you handle that one,” he offers, his voice a rich timbre to my ears. “Although,” he whispers, leaning in close, “I’m sure I could put it to good use.”
My mouth drops open in surprise, just as he reaches his thumb out to skim my bottom lip.
“I’m pretty sure I could put this sexy mouth to good use, too.”
Beth Michele is the author of Love Love, Lovely, Scarred Beautiful, and Finding Autumn. She is a Connecticut native who loves spending time with her husband and two children. If you can’t find her, though, she’s probably hiding out with her kindle anywhere she can find a quiet spot. She has an affinity for Twizzlers and is a hopeless romantic and a happily ever after fanatic.
Release Day Blitz - Last Breath (Hitman #2) by Jessica Clare and Jen Frederick ~ Excerpt and Giveaway
Check out book one . . .
I have been a contract killer since I was a boy. For years I savored the fear caused by my name, the trembling at the sight of my tattoos. The stars on my knees, the marks on my fingers, the dagger in my neck, all bespoke of danger. If you saw my eyes, it was the last vision you’d have. I have ever been the hunter, never the prey. With her, I am the mark and I am ready to lie down and let her capture me. Opening my small scarred heart to her brings out my enemies. I will carry out one last hit, but if they hurt her, I will bring the world down around their ears.
I’ve been sheltered from the outside world all my life. Homeschooled and farm-raised, I’m so naive that my best friend calls me Pollyanna. I like to believe the best in people. Nikolai is part of this new life, and he’s terrifying to me. Not because his eyes are cold or my friend warns me away from him, but because he’s the only man that has ever seen the real me beneath the awkwardness. With him, my heart is at risk..and also, my life.
She’s a biter. That’s the warning given when I point to the blonde with the glazed green eyes in Senhor Gomes’ book of whores. He shakes his head and says that he has access to dozens of others that are better and all willing to engage in whatever perverse activity I want. He brags that there isn’t a sick sex act I can think of that Gomes can’t fulfill. I like home cooking, I tell him. A Texan in Rio sees a lot of beautiful Brazilian women, but sometimes you want a little star-spangled banner in the rotation.
He nods as if this makes sense to him, but I think it’s the money that I’m flashing that he understands. We walk up to the second floor and down a narrow hall toward the back, a windowless part of this brick and metal building. I can’t call it a home or even a brothel. It’s a dingy place where men with deep perversions but shallow wallets can get their rocks off.
I don’t want to have sex here, I’ve explained to Gomes. I have a thing against hellholes and having sex in them. I wave around a lot of cash, and Gomes nodded and asks no more questions.
We’re a strange parade—Gomes, me, and some house mom trailing behind. He stops at the second to last door and removes a key.
I’ve seen pictures of Regan Porter before, and not in Gomes’ look book, but nothing prepares me for her full-fledged, magazine-quality beauty. She hasn’t been eating well; her delicate bones are beginning to look sharp in places—at her shoulders, ribs, and hips. But there’s no denying her breathtaking looks. Her blonde hair is damp and small strands stick to her perfect skull. Her oval face, with its pink cheekbones and lush lips and eyebrows that look like wings, stands out like a piece of fine china at a flea market. Though she’s thin, there’s a delicious curviness in the slope of her side as it dips into the waist and flares back out to form a cuppable roundness at the hip. And those endlessly long legs.
Shit. I close my eyes and swallow. No decent man would be standing here thinking about those legs wrapped around his waist. But then again, I’m not decent. I’m no longer army sniper, Special Forces Daniel Hays who may have once been lauded as a hero for killing insurgents in Afghanistan. Now I’m Daniel Hays, mercenary who kills people for money and spends all his spare time in brothels and flesh dens like this one. Decency is a word I don’t even know the meaning to anymore.
It’s been too long since I’ve had a woman. That’s my only excuse. That and I’m becoming the monster that I’m hunting. I focus on the bruises on her knees that are scraped red and raw from time on the floor and the manacle around her ankle. Any feelings of arousal are jettisoned by the obvious signs of abuse.
Glancing sharply at Gomes, I wonder how he’s come to possess a beauty like Regan Porter. Gomes is a small-time flesh peddler, stuck up here in the slums, with a house full of females—half of which are missing their teeth or are too old or too broken.
He usually gets what the market calls second-hand goods, the girls that no other house wants. But Regan Porter is gorgeous, and while she looks a little rundown, she’s still model beautiful with big pink lips and wide green eyes.
“Nice tits,” I smirk for Gomes’ sake and her shudder of disgust only feeds into my growing belief that I’m as dirty as the flesh trader beside me. The dark edges of the world that I now inhabit are seeping into my skin like an oil slick covering an ocean. I shouldn’t want to touch her. And if I have to fuck her in front of Gomes to get her out of here—I don’t even let myself finish that thought.
There’s still life in her eyes. If she’s biting and spitting out acerbic insults, there’s spirit left in her, and I don’t want to be the one to snuff out that last flame. Her eyes convey her hate, and if she had a knife, I’d be sliced from my throat to my belly. I stare back, not because she’s fucking beautiful, but because she’s still standing. I’m not sure I would’ve been as strong. I don’t know if she sees my admiration or whether she can only interpret varying degrees of lust and degradation, but she sees something. An invisible string spools out between us and her eyes widen when it hits her like an electrical shock.
For months I’ve swum in a pool of blood and death and ugly deeds, and to hold onto my sanity and maybe my soul, I’ve told myself that saving these doves balances the scale. For every life I take, if I save one then it’s all a wash in the end. Don’t think it’s tallied that way at St. Peter’s Gate, but that’s the lie I tell myself so I can sleep at night and look at myself in the mirror the next day. Regan Porter will either be part of my attempt at salvation or the bloody stone that etches out the words He Failed on my headstone.

Her novel Seduction and Snacks won first place in the Indie Romance Convention Reader’s Choice Awards 2013 for Best Indie First Book.
In her spare time, Tara loves to dream about all of the baking she’ll do and naps she’ll take when she ever gets spare time.
Tara also writes under the pen name T.E. Sivec. Check out the page for T.E. Sivec for more information.
