"Sarah, don't do this. Damn it! Stay with me." I reach over and gently brush the blood-soaked hair off her forehead.
Even in this horrific moment, I'm in absolute awe of how beautiful she looks. Bleeding and broken, unmoving in my arms, she is still the most mesmerizing woman I have ever laid eyes on. Deep down, I know this is just the husk of my wife. My Sarah would never have done this to herself. More importantly, she would have never done this to me. Maybe it takes this level of madness, but I finally realize that I have lost her completely.
Whether she lives or dies, Sarah is gone. This is not the woman who made me laugh more in seven years than the rest of my life combined. She definitely isn't the woman I spent years planning a future with, a future that now no longer exists. I feel a heavy weight in my chest at my silent confession, but oddly enough, I also feel a weight lifted off my shoulders. I have watched this woman disintegrate in front of my eyes for almost seven months. Every day, losing her a little more. The light in her eyes fading, while piece by piece and bit by bit, she lost grip of reality. Mentally, emotionally, and now physically, she's left me.
My Sarah died seven months ago on her way home from dinner, and I will never see her walk back into my life. Suddenly, I can't breathe. I'm terrified—and not only because Sarah might finally succeed in taking her own life. I'm paralyzed by the realization that my life is spiraling down in a free fall headed straight for misery, and the only thing I can think to do is anchor myself to this dying woman. I love Sarah with all my heart, but I am not clinging to the woman in my arms. Rather, I’m clinging to the life I thought we were going to have together. I have to accept that she isn't there anymore. Her heart might still be beating, but the bloody, confused, emotionally lost woman I am holding now is only the shell of my first and only love.
"Where the fuck is that ambulance?!" I yell as loud as my cracking voice will allow. Stroking the little bit of her unmarred skin I'm able to reach, I whisper in her ear, "Hang on, baby." Then I repeat the one sentence I have said almost daily since the tragic event that stole her from me. Maybe I say it for her, maybe just for me, but I know that it’s the biggest lie I have ever uttered. "Just hang on, baby. It’s all going to be okay."
“Hi.” I stood up off the bed as he started climbing through the window.
His eyes went wide when he saw me, causing him to momentarily lose his balance on the windowsill and go crashing to the floor. “God. Damn,” he cursed as he rose to his feet while taking in my new wardrobe. “You... I...um...” His hand went to his lip.
He was rooted in place only a few steps away, but his eyes traveled over every inch of my body and back again.
Till was speechless. I had never felt so empowered in my life.
“Are you okay?” I feigned concern as I slowly approached.
“Not even close,” he told my breasts, making me giggle.
After sliding a hand under the edge of his Tshirt, I raked a fingernail over
each of his abs before dipping it into the waistband of his jeans.
“I’m sore today,” I announced, closing the distance between us. My breasts
were pressed against him, but he still hadn’t even attempted to touch me yet. I had plans to remedy that. I smirked then stood up on my tiptoes, kissing the base of his neck. “Make me sore for tomorrow too.” At the last second, I darted my tongue out to the hollow dip at the base of his neck. It was meant to tease him, but as the taste of his skin hit my tongue, I was flooded with memories of taking more of him in my mouth. The moan escaped before I’d even felt it coming.
A loud rumble shook his chest, but that was the only warning I received. Suddenly, I was off my feet and sailing through the air. Just as I landed on the bed, Till crashed on top of me. His mouth roughly landed on mine.
“Tell me we can’t do this again,” he demanded as his hands found my breasts.
“We’re definitely doing this again.” I arched into him.
“It’s gonna get so messy, Eliza. Please.” He groaned as I reached into the front of his jeans.
“I’m okay with messy,” I breathed, guiding his hand from my breast and into my panties.
“Fuuuuuck” he cursed when he discovered just how thorough I’d been with the razor earlier. His finger pressed inside me as his body traveled down the bed and settled between my legs, stripping my panties off during his descent.
He added another finger in a less than gentle but overwhelmingly intoxicating, rhythm.
“Tell me to stop, Eliza. We can’t do this again.” He grazed his teeth on the inside of my thigh.
“We’re already doing it.”
“Tell me to stop.”
“It’s going to ruin us.”
“If you don’t stop talking, you’re going to ruin this.”
“I’m serious.” He kissed the inside of my other thigh, his fingers never
faltering in their steady pace.
“So am I. Stop trying to talk yourself out of this while your fingers are
buried inside me.” I threaded a hand into his hair and gave it a gentle tug. “Goddammit. Tell me to stop!” he demanded one last time, but his fingers
sped before twisting in the most delicious way.
I decided to give him what he wanted, but only because I knew he wouldn’t
“Stop.” I rolled my hips forcing him even deeper. “Well, it’s too fucking late now.”
I would have laughed, but his mouth sealed over my clit and stole my breath, words, thoughts, and orgasm. My body shook as he pushed me higher even while I was falling. It shouldn’t have worked like that, but whatever voodoo magic Till Page was working with that night was all right with me. He didn’t stop swirling his tongue until I used his hair to pry his mouth away.
“Too much!” I cried.
He looked up with a wickedly proud grin. His hand disappeared, and seconds later, his cock replaced it.
Release Blitz: Broken Course (Wrecked and Ruined #3) by Aly Martinez~ Bianca and Derna's Reviews, and Giveaway
I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
As someone that has followed and loved the Wrecked and Ruined Series, Broken Course did not disappoint! It was a heart stopping, all consuming, beautiful conclusion to the series. In the prologue, we are immersed into one of Sarah’s darkest moments. It is powerful in that you feel you are in that room with her feeling every single emotion.
Broken Course begins years later of the tragedy that shattered Sarah Ericsson’s life. She is ready to move on and actually live. She meets Leo James by chance and the attraction is quite obvious. Sarah is hesitant. She doesn’t believe that she is worthy of love. Of loving another human being. But Leo shows her that she is capable of all that and more.
Sarah and Leo’s journey to love and forgiveness is anything but easy. As their past indicates, they have a long way to go in acceptance of love of others, but most importantly love for themselves. Despite this, their souls connect on a level that cannot simply be explained by words. Let’s talk about their intimate moments. Yes. That. You will feel their connection. It is deep. Their love is shrouded by possible darkness, yet their love never falters. It never fails.
A few books ago, you could not have convinced me that Sarah would have come so far. Her strength and resiliency is to be admired. For someone like her, broken, to bounce back the way she did is incredible. Leo is no different. He struggles with his demons. Daily. His spirit, also shattered, continues to try to piece itself back together, little by little until Sarah came long and he wanted nothing more than to be completely whole. The author of this series is known for her writing and the emotion she brings to her stories. Broken Course is on a whole different level. The author simply grabs your heart and you are heavily immersed into Sarah and Leo’s story. Their shattered pieces are left out in the open for you to feel. You live their story, from the very beginning all the way until the heartfelt, epic conclusion.
"You struggled, just like we all do, and that you didn't succumb. you would've had to fight to get where you are today, and that kind of strength should no ever be interpreted as a weakness. That kind of strength is a rare thing of beauty."
Broken Course is so much more than a second chance romance. It simply solidifies that love is the most powerful force in that it forgives, it saves. Love just endures. Always. This series remains a favorite of mine because the author flawlessly writes a story and characters that are genuine and elicits raw and heartfelt emotions simply by her choice of words. I cried, I laughed, I simply lived. Broken Course was the most beautiful ending to a series that will stay in my heart for a long time to come.

Broken Course by Aly Martinez is the final book in the Wrecked and Ruined series. Just like the first two in the series Changing Course, and Stolen Course I loved it. Again, I was captivated me from that start, and taken on that emotional roller coaster which I love, and have come to expect from Aly.
“Regrets will only hold you down. Own the wrongs and move on”
It was only fitting that the series should end with Sarah’s story, as after all that had happened her story was needed. One accident seven years ago had left her a different person, lost, confused, and disconnected from everyone around her. She harbored so much guilt over what happened. I have had mixed feelings about her during the first two books. I went from loving her to hating her, feeling sorry for her, pitying her, once or twice, I wanted to slap her, but in the end I had sympathy for her. In Broken Course you get to see a different side to her, and after finishing this book I have a newfound admiration for her.
Leo James is a great character that I first met, in Among the Echoes, and he had done so much for Erica that I couldn’t help but love him. He is another one of Aly’s alpha men, who is hot, sweet, sexy a dirty talker, and someone who will stop at nothing to protect the woman he loves.
As always with an Aly book I don’t like to say too much about as I think you need to read them knowing very little so that the emotions you feel will be first hand. It’s an emotional story about redemption, fate, second chance, love, hope, trust, loss, forgiveness, and moving on from your past.
Told from Sarah and Leo you really get to understand what they are going through. Both Sarah and Leo are not perfect; their journey isn’t and hasn’t been an easy one. They are hurting; they have their secrets, struggles, and issues, and both are still fighting their demons, but that’s what connects them. They will never be free from the pain of what happen to them in their past, but they teach each other that it’s okay to be a little crazy, to have flaws, to love themselves and it shouldn’t hurt to breath. Somehow they work, fit, and mesh together, and it was lovely to watch.
Love Sarah and Leo together, have amazing chemistry and wow the sex scene was hot! Loved the dialogue between Sarah and Leo so funny at times and yet so tender. Aly did an amazing job of taking Sarah a character who at first may have seemed unfixable, and showing us that there was so much more to her. By the end the book I had so much empathy for her. Love Sarah’s vegetable report on Leo!! (I will be talking about that in the staff room tomorrow)
Overall, I loved Broken Course was a great conclusion to the series. Aly always put her heart and soul into her books. The writing is beautiful, sexy, raw, angsty, powerful and at times brutal. The characters were so real and genuine you can help but become wrapped up in their story. It’s sad that the series has come to an end as I’m going to miss them all, especially the men. But the epilogue left me very happy, love they way Aly did it, and told from the extra POVs.. Just perfect.
If you’re looking for a series that is emotional, angsty, funny, romantic, heartwarming, and heartbreaking, and let's not forget sexy, hot, sweet, swoon-worthy, and will make you look at some vegetables in a new light. Then I highly recommended you 1 -click now!! If you’re a fan of Aly's you won’t be disappointed, and I’m looking forward to reading what she has in store for us next
“Leo James is intriguing. If there were ever a man who knew how to say all the right things at the right times, that would be Leo”
“I can’t seem to stop touching her. It’s just something about the way every connection sends a sparks of electricity through”
“Angel you were mine from the first moment I laid eyes on you”
“Leo does far more that just center me. He anchors me to his soul in a ways that solidifies that I’ll never be that same without him”
“I’m not going anywhere. We might ne a mess, but you’re my mess, Sarah”
“You make me smile, and laugh. You make things right even when the worlds feels completely wrong”
“Individually, we’ve been through hell and lived to tell about it. Together, there isn’t a force in the world that could bring us down”

Among the Echoes is the third book I have read by Aly Martinez, and like the last two I just loved it.
“One touch was enough to hook me”
The story of Dr. Erica Hill aka Riley Peterson and Slate Andrews started off with a bang, I was hit hard with an onslaught of emotions after reading the first two chapters and my heart went out to Erica, and I knew I was hooked, Aly had yet again managed to grab hold of me from the time I swipe the first page, and didn’t let me go until I had I swipe the last page.
The storyline is told from Riley and Slate’s POV. I can’t / won’t go into and I know I say this every time I write my review after reading one of Aly’s books, but it's true, you have to read them with only knowing what Aly wants you to know, and therefore, the emotions you are going to feel will be first hand.
I can tell you that Riley/Erica was a great character, funny, smart, but understandably after what she had been through, her walls were up, she was always on guard, she had stopped living, hiding her true self, until she meets Slate. She tries to be strong, tries to walk away, if only to keep him safe, but this is Slate, and she is unable to let him go.
What can I say about Slate! As we know Aly knows how to create men that make you go weak at the knees, I mean just look at Brett Sharp and Caleb Jones, and she didn’t disappoint me with Slate, He’s sexy, he was a fighter, and wow! He can fight!! He can fight for me any day. He’s an alpha, a dirty talker with muscles, golden brown eyes and heart of gold, and I loved the way he was with Riley, the way he could really see her, vowed to protective of her. He knows when to push her, and when to let her go, but without really letting go. Love him!!
‘Among the Echoes’ is a story that’s going to without a doubt captive you with it angst, drama, suspense, and romance. Like me Aly will make you cry, laugh, swoon, get angry, get anxious, and all hot, and bothered with her sexy scenes. Her writing is amazing; her characters and their story was believable. You will feel their emotions, especially Riley, I can’t tell you how many time my heart ached for her.
The ending had me on the edges of my seat, Loved, loved the epilogue as Aly wrote one that was years instead of a few months into the future, and they are always a firm favorite of mine. Love the surprise POV at the end of the epilogue and the last line after reading it, I said to myself “well, I never” and I had to say to Aly Well played, I loved the way you think!! Because….. It was a good one. Brilliant!
If you’re looking for great emotional storylines, with the sexiest alpha men, then look no further than a book by Aly Martinez. I recommend that you 1 click Among the Echoes’ today. You will not be disappointed, and I’m sure you will understand why I can’t wait for the next one.
“Anything you need Riley. Even if you think it’s silly. You Know where I’m at. Don’t’ be afraid to come to me”
‘Tonight….I felt something I never felt with any one but Dave…safe”
“She doesn’t’ need to thank me. I’m doing this just as much for myself as I am for her”
“I’m a freaking masochist for torturing myself like this. I’m also curious and, for some reason, utterly drawn to her”
“Forget my rescue mission to save her… Who’s going to save me”
"Fuck your fairytale. I just want you. I’ll make my own God damn happily ever after. But you’re the one who is mistaken. You’ll be at the end of that story, beautiful”
“You’re the only one who truly sees me”
"I can see you, but I can’t hear you. There are too many lies and secrets echoing around us, distorting the real woman. I don’t know who you truly are, Riley, but tiny flashes of that woman whisper around the room between us. I will find the real you among the echoes—and I will make her mine."
“All of a sudden, Slate fucking Andrews walked into your life, and something changed”
"I want you. All of you. Not these little bits I hear echoing around the room. I just want you, Riley."
“Holy shit!! Slate gives good dirty talk”
