Release Day Blitz: My Soul To Keep by Kennedy Ryan - Bianca's Review, Author Playlist, and Giveaway11/16/2015
It seems the things worth keeping are often the hardest to hold...
KAI I had two things in life that mattered. My mother and my music. Mama was taken from me too soon, and now music is all I have left. It’s the thing that’s pushed me right out of backwoods Georgia into Los Angeles, where the line between fantasy and reality shimmers and blurs. I’m finally making my way, making my mark. I can’t afford to fall for one of music's brightest stars. Not now. Music is all I have left, and I’m holding on tight with both hands. I won’t let go, not even for Rhyson Gray. RHYSON I had one thing in my life that mattered – music. The only constant, it’s taken me to heights most people only dream about; a gift dropped in my lap at birth. I thought it was enough. I thought it was everything until I met Kai. Now she’s all I think about, like a song I can't get out of my head. If I have to chase her, if I have to give up everything - I will. And once she's mine, I won't let go.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
“She’s like the eye of the storm. Chaos all around, but right here, in her arms, at the center, peace. Unreasonable, undeniable peace.” HELLO first chapter! I had tears in my eyes on the very first two chapters. Now. This isn’t a sad book. But the author is a talented writer and she was able to grab me from the very beginning. Her WORDS are captivating. So I am asking myself. Why have I not read her before? This is my first book of hers. And certainly not my last. I want to read everything she writes. “Little by little she has crept into even the broken places of my heart.” Child prodigy, Rhyson Gray, turned famous and successful musician has everything he has ever wanted. But deep down, he knows something is missing. And he finds that missing piece in Kai Pearson. Kai’s life was turned upside down when she lost her mom. Determined to make something of herself, she leaves behind her southern roots to head to California. The moment Rhyson and Kai meet, it’s like they’re the only ones in the room. Their deep connection through music. While others listened to music, both Rhyson and Kai felt it in their bones. “His smile promises things that make my heartbeat stutter.” You know the feeling a a book gives you that makes your heart flutter? You're like OMG real life go away, I just want to read! This book did that for me. Kai and Rhyson did not fall for each other over night. While the connection was instant, their love built over time. Kai was reluctant to even think about Rhyson because of her past. She was determined to make it on her own in the entertainment industry. Without the help of Rhyson. However, over time, the two of them could no longer deny the feelings that festered beneath the surface. Kai wanted more time. But the thing about the heart is that it waits for no one. For love does not know circumstance or time. It only goes where it belongs. “The man I didn’t want to need feels like the breath in my lungs. Feels like the blood pumping through my heart. Feels like the pulse pounding in my ears. Feels like everything I need to survive.” As I mentioned before, the words are what makes this beautiful story magical. Poetic and lyrical in nature, the words of this story gave me LIFE. I have never read this author before, and I am kicking myself that this is my first book of hers. Her words are powerful. Magnetic. Addicting. She brilliantly weaves a story together that goes beyond love and romance. This story is simply about two soulmates and how much love truly saves. Always. “Rhyson’s words set my heart free like a stampede of wild notes across a music staff, falling off the lines, running off the page.” The love between Rhyson and Kai cannot be boxed in or simply explained with words. Their love was deep. Overwhelming. Unyielding. Transcending. Profound. They love with conviction, with strength. Even though their circumstances tell them they are not right for each other, their hearts know different. Their hearts know they love with truth. “I hand over more of my heart. More of my soul. I always think he has it all, and he always finds more. Takes more. Gives me more.” If love could be translated into music, it would simply read the words of this book. The declarations of love between Kai and Rhyson weren’t always put into words, but simply felt in their moments together. You feel the moment their hearts are tethered. The moment where there is no turning back. They recklessly hand over their hearts to the other. But thats the thing about love. It’s a risk. One you take with the person you know it belongs to. And that was Rhyson and Kai. Their hearts were always on the same beat. “You’re in my veins. In my blood. In my bones, and I just want you deeper.” My Soul To Keep is an all consuming read. I was in love with the writing by the second page. Rhyson and Kai are something special and I dare not compare them to anything I have ever read. I would also like to thank the author for adding diversity in this book as her characters truly reflect the truth in love not caring about looks, socioeconomic status, nor ability. Love always ends up where it’s meant to be. My heart continues to sing over this story. Rhyson and Kai’s story is not cookie cutter. It’s raw, touching, emotional, and you will fall deeper into the lives of these characters. The ending left me speechless, and I cannot wait to see what is to come for these two. This story is definitely one of the finer moments of the romance genre. Playlist

When I think about romantic comedies I think about great movies like Pretty Woman and How to lose a guy in ten days. These movies I can watch over and over again without pause! These movies bring me joy and solace in a crazy un- romantic comedy world, so when I read LICKED I was seriously overjoyed and doing a rom-com cartwheel and happy clap because this book is so, SO perfect when it comes to what I want in a movie!
Oh wait… This a book?? Holy crap, I almost forgot, because it reads like one of the best romantic comedy movies EVER! BUT-- THIS is a book, a great muther effin book! Ry is this amazing woman who knows right from wrong, but she feels the indifference between two amazing men. Ok, so what would you do? The hot as hell construction worker? How would you act? Who would you pick? The Sweet as hell sex on a stick!? The hard hat phenom? This is the biggest conundrum ever! The choice is yours…. This book takes you to a place that you wished or hoped actually happened in your real life! It's amazing and perfect and everything that a romantic comedy should be. I'm so in love with this book! Brooke Blaine serves up rom-com perfection with this witty, get the memo, sexy as hell book! I'm sending a copy to all of my female hookers!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
When it comes to romantic comedies, I tend to be picky. Romance for me is a given. It’s a must. I crave it when I read. But add in the funny? It either is or it isn’t. Some rom coms try to hard, while others not at all. But Licked? It had everything I need in a romantic comedy! Not only was it funny. But it was witty, creative, and I was never bored. Brooke Blaine has easily mastered how to successfully execute a true romantic comedy. Ryleigh Phillips owns a successful ice creamery and bar. And not just an ordinary one. The names of these flavors of ice cream and drinks will have you giggling and laughing out loud. And often. While her career and business is booming, her love life isn’t. Until the night of her high school reunion once she comes in contact with her long time crush, Cameron Mathis. Through him, she also meets Hunter Morgan, who later becomes her contractor as she is doing renovations at her store. Suddenly Ryleigh finds herself falling. And not in the direction she expected. Before you go thinking, omg a love triangle. This is SO much more than that. While Ryleigh has her choice of two amazing men, this is not the average story. Brooke Blaine puts her own spin on things. I will not get too much into the plot, as the reader is to experience the story. But I will say I was #teamHunter the moment I met him. Not only is he hot, but he knows exactly what he wants. And Cameron? He was sweet and endearing and I could easily see how Ryleigh had crushed on him since high school! But as we get older, we change. And Ryleigh is no longer that quirky high school teenager. How does a girl choose between two amazing men? Or did her heart already know the one it’s always belonged to? I absolutely adored the writing style of Licked. The author effortlessly weaves a story that keeps the reader engaged from beginning to end. You are instantly placed within the pages and you want to be friends with the characters. You get to experience their highs and lows. I found that I wanted to be within Ryleigh’s group of friends. They were hilarious. I believe this not only shows the author’s talent in writing a story, but that also demonstrates her craftsmanship in strong character development. Licked was such a fun reading experience. It was lighthearted, swoony, and one of those reads that you smile while reading the entire time. The characters will have you laughing out loud. Not only is the story funny, but there are also some sexy times. I am so excited for what’s to come of this series and the characters. Brooke Blaine has definitely placed herself on my buy anything she writes shelf. I highly recommend Licked if you want a true and genuine romantic comedy that will remind you of what it means to truly fall in love.
New-to-me authors scare me. I'm a bit of a chicken and like to stick to things I know. Will I get their humour? Will their writing be easy to read? Will they pull off a great angsty break-up where you're just dying for them to get back together? Will the reunion be worth it? Well, I say to myself now, DON'T BE A CHICKEN SHIT! This book was GREAT! Brooke did not disappoint at all!
So we have the high school crush, Cameron, that Ryleigh has been in love for for years. Then there is his best friend, Hunter. Ones a white collar gentleman who says all the right things. The other is a blue collar hottie, simply irresistible in my opinion. Oh how to choose?! Even though the book isn't named "Licked" for their first intimate scene, it surely could have been. Wowie. That was HOT. When the clothes start coming off, holy shit hot chemistry happens. It takes a very admirable man to step down in the name of love. Which kind of makes you wish that this time, that love was for him. I think either way, you can't go wrong choosing Cameron or Hunter. But chemistry is chemistry, and that kind, is not the kind you can build over time. This story was full of cute, sweet and hot lines and loads a sugary treats. It has a great group of supporting characters, of whom I hope to get some more of in the future. Especially Quinn. She has me intrigued already! You can't write great friends without us wanting their story too. Or can you? :( And that will hopefully mean there will be more Ryleigh, Cameron and Hunter as well! Because as perfect as the ending was, I always need more.
“And then?”
I tugged at the edge of my apron in an attempt to avoid the three pairs of eyes staring bug-eyed at me. “And then he walked me to my car.” “And then you…?” Shayne asked. “Went home,” I said. “Wait a minute, can we talk about the fact that he made you sleep on his couch?” Paige’s eyebrows were raised up to practically her hairline. “I’m sorry, but in what fucking universe is that acceptable? Why didn’t you call Quinn to pick you up?” “He didn’t make me, geez. He passed out and it was late, and I thought maybe…you know. Morning sex.” Shayne cocked an eyebrow. “And did that happen?” “Well, no. Hunter made me coffee, and then Cameron woke up and…that’s it.” “Wait,” Quinn interrupted. “You slept in an apartment with two guys and both of them had you sleeping on the couch? Jesus, Ryleigh, it’s against man-code for that to happen. Did you wear a chastity belt last night or something?” I groaned, my head falling into my hands. Of course the girls would give me a hard time. I’d been talking up tackling Cameron at the reunion for weeks, so my body wasn’t the only one feeling let down. Still, I was seriously regretting inviting them over for a powwow at my shop during our off hours. “I think I need another shot of vodka in my Feisty Ho-bag now.” Paige pushed her glass stemware toward me, and I grabbed a liquor bottle from behind the bar and tipped some into her glass. Boozy shakes. They were the bread and butter of Licked during the brunch and evening hours, and the main reason for the expansion next door. I glanced at the black tarp hanging over the doorway that led to the space I’d bought a few months ago and sighed. Construction was running behind, and it was too late to hire another company if I wanted to keep the launch date set. And I had to keep the date set. “So are you seeing him again?” Shayne asked, dunking her cherry through the layers of baklava bits and whipped cream on top of her Nibble My Nuts shake. “I will totally get involved if I need to.” No doubt she’d be successful. She basically ran one of the top matchmaking companies in the city, not that you’d know it from her degrading pay scale. Her boss was a fucking nightmare, but Shayne was convinced she had to pay her dues. “I don’t need your expert skills this time, but thank you. He’s got my number, so…we’ll see.” “You can’t just wait around for a guy to call,” she said. “I’m not waiting. I’ve got all that”—I gestured to the ugly tarp that hid the mess behind it—“to deal with, so I’m actually quite busy at the moment.” The three of them gave each other “the look.” You know, the one that said, We’ve got to help our poor little friend get laid so she doesn’t end up gorging on the ice cream and boozy shakes she makes and be relegated to spinsterhood. “Guys,” I said, placing my hands on the counter as I stood in front of them. “I’m not on my way to spinsterhood. I just have priorities.” “I’m sure you could squeeze Cameron Mathis in,” Quinn said with a wink. “Get it? Squeeze him in…” “More like blow off the dust, grab a key, unlock that shit, and pray there are no bats,” Paige agreed. Oh for fuck’s sake. “All right, no more booze for either of you.”

You could say Brooke Blaine was a book-a-holic from the time she knew how to read; she used to tell her mother that curling up with one at 4 a.m. before elementary school was her ‘quiet time.’ Not much has changed except for the espresso I.V. pump she now carries around and the size of her onesie pajamas. Flash Point is Brooke’s debut solo novel, and she is the co-author of the erotic serial, A Desperate Man, with Ella Frank. The latter has scarred her conservative southern family for life, bless their hearts. Licked, a romantic comedy, will be released on November 11th, 2015. If you’d like to get in touch with her, she’s easy to find - just keep an ear out for the Rick Astley ringtone that’s dominated her cell phone for ten years.

Sure he sleeps with everything that walks, but there’s a side to him that the author slowly unfolds. As a a reader you fall for him. For his heart. The writing is captivating and draws you in page by page. I found it very hard to put down as the story flowed effortlessly. The author seamlessly tells the story from different POVs that allowed you to become completely embedded within the lives of her characters. I am very vague in the plot to avoid spoiling anything for the reader. You want to go into this story knowing as little as possible. Once Dixon Mathews grabs you, he is not letting go. Not until the very end. And even then you’ll be like me...tapping your kindle screaming that there has to be an additional chapter! I will be the girl rocking in the corner waiting for book two! People that learn that the fall from love is much harder than the fall into it. There are twists and turns you do not see coming. The author brilliantly executes a sexy and well crafted story about deep dark secrets and falling for the one your heart ultimately desires. Well done! I am SO ready for more Dixon Mathews.
Title: The Allure of Dean Harper (Allure #2) Author: R.S. Grey Release Date: Sept 28, 2015 Find on Goodreads - http://bit.ly/1Va5qaQ From: LilyNBlack@Gmail.com To: JosephineKeller@VogueMagazine.com Subject: You’re a flippin’ idiot Good morning my dear, naive friend, I hope you’re enjoying a breakfast of regret and sorrow. Why? Because you sent me to work for Dean Harper, aka a control freak in a tailor-made suit. Sure he owns the trendiest restaurants in NYC, but c'mon Jo, his ego makes Kanye West look like the Dalai Lama. He's the type of guy that only hears the word “no” when it's followed by “don’t stop.” Working for Dean Harper would be like selling my soul to the devil…and before you say anything, I don’t care if the devil has punch-you-in-the-gut brown eyes and an ass to match. My soul isn’t for sale. Regretfully yours, Lily The Allure of Dean Harper is a full-length standalone romance with overlapping characters from The Allure of Julian Lefray. Both books can be read separately. Chronologically, The Allure of Julian Lefray happens first. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. R.S. Grey has given us a laugh out loud romantic comedy that is sure to make you fall in love with her writing all over again. Lily Black has just moved to New York City in hopes to get away from her small town in Texas and to be closer to her best friend, Josephine (Jo) Keller. Lily quickly finds that Jo is pretty wrapped up with her drop dead gorgeous boyfriend, Julian Lefray. So now? It’s Lily against the world. Or at least NYC. She runs a food review blog, but even that doesn’t pay the bills. It’s time to find a job to cover the expensive rent she cannot afford. One night she stumbles upon the perfect job, and it quickly comes to an end the moment she comes face to face with Dean Harper. Oh and the catch? He’s best friends with Jo’s boyfriend! Dean Harper is a workaholic. He is very successful restauranteur with no signs of slowing down. The moment he meets Lily, he stumbles a bit. Caught of guard that someone as beautiful as she was also very confident and head strong. She is definitely not one to back down especially with that sassy attitude. And Dean has an ego the size of a ---well I don't think it can be measured. Let's just say he is will aware of his good looks and success.. Dean decides (against his better judgement) to do Julian and Jo a friendly favor and hire Lily. Because surely he feels no attraction to her and can do his job. Right? Ha. Nice try. Dean and Lily are extremely attracted to each other, but very stubborn. Neither one wants to admit feelings of any kind. Especially when the feelings run deeper than the surface. Who has time to give in to those type of emotions? Especially when at this time in their lives they are career driven and focused. But maybe they are what each other needs after all. Dean easily becomes infatuated with Lily. He loves her spunk, but will never admit it. Out loud anyway. And Lily? She's attracted to how Dean challenges her. He doesn't let her get away with anything.. Their sarcastic banter had me laughing (embarrassingly) out loud. Their love to hate relationship was quite entertaining. If you enjoy this author's work, you will devour this one! The Allure of Dean Harper had everything a romantic comedy should have and more. It was fun, witty, and sexy. I read it all in one sitting as I found it very hard to put down. The author is brilliant in her delivery and execution of this story and the characters in that she puts her own twist on this genre. She does not follow any formula. She simply makes her own. Her writing is engaging and you want nothing more than to become best friends with this group. I loved Dean and Lily, but I do wish we had more time with them. I am looking forward to what's to come from this author. I'd read anything she writes. I am a lover of books, chocolate, reality TV, black labs, and cold weather. Seriously, if I had it my way I would be curled up on the couch with all of those things...everyday.
I live in Texas where I spend my free time writing and reading. My favorite authors are Mindy Kaling & Jonathan Safran Foer. I'm a comedy geek and love all things funny. Women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are definitely the biggest inspirations for my writing, though I think my work tends to skew a bit smuttier than theirs. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. How do you put into words a book that touched your soul? Can words even come close to how much this book meant to me? How much it meant in my heart? Not sure if any words can truly describe the magic of this author’s writing of this story. But I am going to try. Tristan Cole is left devastated by tragedy. It shatters his world. His life as he knows it is gone. He becomes angry, lonely. He is no longer living. He simply exists. To the outside he is cold and cruel. In the inside he is just numb. When he meets Elizabeth, he recognizes something in her eyes. Loss maybe? Loneliness? He sees himself in her eyes. A lost soul. “Do I scare, you Elizabeth?” he whispered. “No.” “Why not?” “Because I see you.” After losing the love of her life, Elizabeth returns to her home determined to live for her and her daughter. But that is no easy feat. There are reminders everywhere. Her heart feels empty, her soul missing it’s other half. While she is told to stay away from Tristan, Elizabeth can’t help but be drawn to his darkness as she recognizes the same in herself. Tristan wants nothing to do with her. He fights every time she attempts to get close to him. He tries to scare her away with his harsh words and rude demeanor. But Elizabeth SEES him. She sees underneath the darkness. That maybe... just maybe there is a light somewhere in his heart. And Tristan soon recognizes that perhaps Elizabeth is his light. “You’re beautiful. You’re a beautiful, broken kind of monster.” The Air He Breathes is heartbreaking. You are emotionally invested the entire time you are reading. The author is brilliant in the way she crafts her story and characters. She doesn’t just give life to her characters, she breathes her heart and soul into them. This is demonstrated in the way she allows you to FEEL while reading. Every sad event, every joyous occasion...you LIVE within those pages. I am purposefully not talking about the plot as you should immerse yourself in this beautiful story. “Her soul was scarred, and mine was burned.” “How did two people so broken find each other’s shattered pieces?” Tristan and Elizabeth find solace in each other, but they also find a great love. They find the missing pieces to their shattered hearts. Tristan loves fiercely. His love is LOUD. You feel his heart beat again the moment he realizes he loves Elizabeth. His love protects, his love is brave. His heart speaks love. Always. Elizabeth’s love? Her love is powerful. It’s strong. Her love never falters for Tristan. Despite their circumstances, she loves with her entire soul. So many write about love. But this story? There is none like. The Air He Breathes challenges love. It puts love against things you never knew was possible. They love through pain, heartache, and tragedy. Their love is truth. Their love is light. Their love? It saves. “Show me the shadows that keep you up at night. Kiss me with your darkness.” Can we talk about the writing? It’s magical and overwhelming. Every word is carefully crafted to add to the story. The author seamlessly wrote both POVs and transitioned between the present and the past. I have read other books by this author and every time I am blown away by her genius ability to write such powerful words. Words that invoke emotions. Words that you feel. Words that make you cry, laugh. Live. “I didn’t know it was possible. I didn’t know the broken pieces of a heart could still beat for love.” The Air He Breathes gave me LIFE. You know when someone asks you what book could you read over and over and never get tired of? This would be THE book. Don't go into this book thinking you know this story. Because you don't You'll never read one like this. Tristan and Elizabeth? I will never forget their inspiring love story. Their love overcame so much. But isn't that what love does? Love endures. It bears all things. Their love did that. And so much more. *I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.* “Maybe he loved our scars the most. Maybe the truest form of love grew from the deepest kinds of pain.” Wow, The Air He Breathes was my first Brittainy C. Cherry book and I have to say, it’s not for the faint-hearted. It will tug at your heartstrings but don’t worry you will come out the other side smiling. Both Liz and Tristan are living broken lives. Moving on and breathing again seems an impossible feat but what if you met someone just as broken? Just as scarred? Could it then be possible to breathe again? To live again? To maybe even love again? This was a lovely story, I did like the way in which the characters interconnected at times and it had drama that I wasn’t expecting. I will say I was expecting to ugly cry and even though I didn’t come near, I still got a lump in my throat and discovered a new author and great characters. There was a part in the story that I didn’t connect with, and upon discussing it with a friend; I came to the conclusion that it’s due to personal experience. We each read books differently and because of my own experiences I could never imagine this situatuion happening. It was uncomfortable to read at times and I wasn’t sure if I could fall for these characters. But grief affects others in different ways and even though I didn’t particularly like that one element of the story, it made the characters real. Warts and all. I liked Brittainy’s writing style and I wasn’t expecting the humorous tone to her words. It worked really well and was injected just at the right time when the storyline needed it. I loved the characters, I love the journey they embarked on and I loved the white feathers. For lovers of serendipity and second chances, I highly recommend this book to you. Brittainy Cherry has been in love with words since the day she took her first breath. She graduated from Carroll University with a Bachelors Degree in Theatre Arts and a minor in Creative Writing. She loves to take part in writing screenplays, acting, and dancing--poorly of course. Coffee, chai tea, and wine are three things that she thinks every person should partake in! Brittainy lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with her family. When she's not running a million errands and crafting stories, she's probably playing with her adorable pets.

If there’s one thing you can always expect from this author’s work it’s that she knows how to keep you hooked from beginning to end. This story was no different. Alyssa Swanson is a single mom struggling to make ends meet. Her daughter, Sophie is her world and she will stop at nothing to give her everything. But her life has never been that simple. Despite the jobs here and there she needs to make more money. Fast. While going to a sketchy place looking for a job, she encounters another. Although unconventional, it’s thrilling, sexy, and alluring. And Alyssa knows she must take it. Despite what it means she must do, she is willing to give up a part of herself to get ahead in life. When she meets the boss, Xavier O’Brien she is stunned. Never expecting someone like him to run that kind of business. One look at him, she knew everything in her life was about to change. Xavier is a mystery. Devastatingly handsome, but off limits. At least that’s what everyone tells Alyssa. But she can’t seem to stay away. There is something about him that pulls her in. And Xavier feels the same energy when in the same space as Alyssa. But he knows he can’t touch her. So that means no else can either. He puts up barriers so that customers can look but they can't get too close. He will never admit it to himself or Alyssa that he is doing something he thought he’d never do. He is falling. Hard. The connection between Alyssa and Xavier is electric. It’s intense, addicting, The author places you right there in their moments of passion. Your heart beats as the story unfolds. I found the writing to be captivating. It flowed well and made it easy to get lost within the pages. The love in this story is raw but so heartfelt. These are two flawed people that find the missing pieces to their jagged edges in each other. Aurora James is unlike anything I have ever read. This is no fairytale or good girl gone bad story. This story is of Aurora James and how she came to be. How she falls for the one man she is not supposed to have. Despite Alyssa’s choice of job, you understand her struggle and the need to feed and clothe her and her daughter. The need to provide. You begin to identify with her. You fall as she falls for Xavier. You feel her struggle in loving a man that cannot belong to her. And can we talk about the ending? I was left speechless. I literally kept tapping my kindle as that could not have been it. There is so much left to Alyssa and Xavier’s story and I am so happy we have more of them to look forward to. I cannot wait for what’s to come.

Copyright © 2015 Jessica Ingro My mouth hung open as I took in the sight of the man standing in the doorway. He was easily six foot three, with black hair and piercing blue eyes that seemed as if they saw right through me. His facial features were hard and masculine, like that of a gladiator—strong jaw, straight nose, high cheekbones. And good lord, he was built. His muscles were barely contained by the blue dress shirt that covered his upper body. And through his black suit pants, I could see large, muscular thighs. “Please don’t tell me this is the situation,” he said to Ghost in an infuriated tone. “Sure is.” Ghost’s grin stretched across his face and if I knew any better, I’d say he thought the whole situation was amusing, which only served to take me from self-pity to straight out pissed off. Nothing about a single mother struggling to make ends meet was funny in my opinion. I narrowed my eyes and opened my mouth to curse when the man shut the door behind him, drawing my attention back towards him. He really was a fine specimen of eye candy. Muscles in my lower belly clenched at the unbidden thought of his large body over mine. “Why the fuck did you bother me with this?” the man snapped, clearly pissed off and not finding the situation amusing either. “She wants to dance out front,” Ghost explained. “All the girls dance out front,” the man replied in agitation. “She only wants to dance out front,” Ghost further explained. A bark of disbelief came from the man’s lips, and he turned his full attention to me. “What makes you think you’re better than the other girls here?” “I… I don’t,” I stammered. His gaze was hard and his eyes were cold as they raked over my body with precision. “Then bend over and show me what you’re working with or get the fuck out.” The color drained from my face at his harsh words, even as those muscles tightened again in anticipation. This was insane. No way could I possibly be this turned on by a stranger who was a complete asshole. And in the end isn’t that exactly what Kevin ended up being? A stranger and complete asshole? My inner voice taunted me. “Who do you think you are coming in here and demanding me to bend over like I’m nothing more than a piece of meat?” I demanded. I was in full-on defensive mode. I hated being talked about like I wasn’t in the room, and I despised being treated like a piece of shit. He closed the distance between us until he was so close his breath caressed the skin on my cheek. My heart galloped wildly in my chest at being this close to him. I had to fight the urge to lean forward, bury my nose in his neck and sniff his collar when his woodsy scent wafted around me. “Don’t you ever question who the fuck I am. I’m motherfucking God as far as you’re concerned. No one steps into my den and shows me disrespect. No one. You got that?” His tone held a razor-sharp edge that I felt lash at my skin with each word. “Yes,” I squeaked out, my head bobbing up and down in concurrence. If I’d thought Ghost was scary before, he had nothing on this man. He was on a whole other level from scary. The word scary would be closer to describing a tiny little bunny than it would be to describing him. Coherent thoughts flew out of my head when I felt his hand on my hip. His touch was a hot brand against my skin, making my breath come in harsh pants. His proximity was breaking down all my defenses and making me feel like a bitch in heat. The material of my thong tightened against my skin right before I heard the material rip. I looked down in disbelief at the torn lace dangling from his large hand. Holy shit. He destroyed my underwear… with one hand.

Everyone knows Brooke Wicks loves to have a good time. She’s not interested in getting serious, settling down, or limiting herself to one man. I’m not gonna lie. I've read the first two books in the series, yet I had no idea what to expect from Brooke Wicks. None. Was there a guy that could handle her? What would her book be like? Well once again, J. Daniels has written a book that I absolutely adored. Brooke. She sexes them and leaves them. Every man left behind. Feelings? Who needs them? Who has the time? Not Brooke. That just brings on unnecessary drama. Enter hot yoga studio owner, Mason King. Brooke knows what she wants and goes after it. But Mason isn’t that kind of guy. And it totally throws Brooke off her balance. Why would a guy want to get to know her? Ask questions. She wants one thing. But Mason? He wants more. He SEES Brooke. Perhaps that is what has her so scared. She guards her heart, while Mason does everything to embed himself within. “Christ. I fear I’ve just met the devil. Figures she’s a woman.” Not so fast, Mason. This is Brooke we are talking about here. This girl knows how to get what she wants. And your challenge only excites her more. Until she realizes he’s serious. He wants to know her. And maybe. Just maybe, she wants to be known too. Without realizing it, Mason and Brooke become close. Their banter is not only sexually charged, but they are funny. There are some definite laugh out loud moments! But Mason also sure knows how to make a girl swoon. His words. His whispers. They are everything. “Her darkness and her light. I want them both.” While Mason has fallen for Brooke, it takes her awhile to realize how much she cares for him. And she’s scared. Her first instinct is to run. Run away from feeling. From the truth. From the one person who has made her heart crave being loved and adored. She wants to be wanted. And only by Mason. Her life has never been the same since Mason entered it and she’s not so sure she can do without him. Brooke grows so much in this book. You easily find yourself relating to her. It’s hard to truly give your heart to someone without giving them the power to destroy it. It’s trusting them not to do it being the hardest part. But Brooke gave her heart and soul to Mason the day she laid eyes on him. “Your soul is recognizing who it belongs to.” Mason King? My love for you is endless. His heart is so beautiful. So pure. He loves from deep within the depths of his soul. Has there ever been a hero so passionate? Sigh. J. Daniels you have a true talent for writing men that love fiercely. Loudly. Mason’s love is endearing. His love is true. Unwavering. His love for Brooke Wicks has no end. His love is forever. “I want her letting go and letting me have her secrets, being perfectly unashamed and trusting that I’ll not only like every honest moment she gives me, I’ll protect them for her.” Sweet Obsession went beyond anything I could have imagined. I cried. I laughed. This book was sweet, sexy, and I loved every minute of it. Of course the entire Sweet Addiction crew is in this book and it made me realize how much I am going to miss them. This can’t be the end of this group! “You’re beautiful too, Mason. Your heart and your body. Your soul. I’m so lucky.” Yes, Brooke. We are lucky. Mason King, yeah? Go. Read. This. Book. *** I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review *** Sweet Obsession is the third in the Sweet Addiction series by J Daniels. I was excited to start Brooke Wicks story. I wasn’t a fan of hers after reading book one, but by the end of book 2 I had warmed to her and now after book 3 I love her. "Love is a madness I will willingly accept if he's the one pulling me under” Brooke likes the no-strings approach. Happy to have so fun and quick fling and then move on. No one has ever made her want more until she meets sexy Hot Yoga teacher Mason King. Mason was hooked from the first the moment he set eyes on Brooke he wants more than just fun, more than just a quick fling with no strings. He wants all of her! And he will pull out all the stops to show her that the “more” he is offering is the “more” that she wants to. “I see you Brooke”……..“I want everything” “I want him to distract me so I'm not completely terrified of what this is or what it's becoming. I don't want to think. I just want to feel. His hands. His mouth. The wild pace of his heart." All I can say is you will love Mason King he has a heart of gold, and he has an accent and oh boy do I love an accent. He has those alpha qualities, but they are a little softer, and I like that about him. Love the way he makes Brooke feel, the way he wants to see the real her. The chemistry between Brooke and Mason is undeniable; Mason’s attraction to her is deep and their banter flirty, sexy, dirty, funny, and heartfelt. “You are loved, Brooke Wicks. My adoration for you is endless” "I want to absorb him, every flavor of Mason. His sweetness and his ferocity. The gentle planes and sharp, savage angles of his passion” It was great catching up with Dylan, Reese, Juls, Ian, Joey and Billy. They are a great bunch. Getting an extra bit of Joey was a lovely surprise, and I loved seeing how his relationship with Brook has changed so much. Overall did I love this book yeah, I did. J Daniels with Her fabulous writing has done it again. She pulled me in from the beginning and hooked me right till the end. Sweet Obsession has a great blend of sweet, sexy, funny, drama and angst moments. I smiled, laughed, swooned, and got teary. Love what J Daniels did with Brooke’s character she has matured so much from the first book and we get to see the real her. Sweet Obsession could be read as a standalone, but you would be crazy not to read the first two books in the series, as both are great. You really should learn about and fall in love with the rest of the characters that are in this great series. So treat yourself to all three books now! You will not be disappointed. “I’m Yours. My body, my soul. All of my time is yours”

Web - Facebook - Twitter - Instagram - Amazon Release Day Launch: Before We Were Strangers by Renée Carlino- Bianca and Adriana's Reviews8/18/2015 From the USA TODAY bestselling author of Sweet Thing and Nowhere But Here comes a love story about a Craigslist “missed connection” post that gives two people a second chance at love fifteen years after they were separated in New York City. To the Green-eyed Lovebird: We met fifteen years ago, almost to the day, when I moved my stuff into the NYU dorm room next to yours at Senior House. You called us fast friends. I like to think it was more. We lived on nothing but the excitement of finding ourselves through music (you were obsessed with Jeff Buckley), photography (I couldn’t stop taking pictures of you), hanging out in Washington Square Park, and all the weird things we did to make money. I learned more about myself that year than any other. Yet, somehow, it all fell apart. We lost touch the summer after graduation when I went to South America to work for National Geographic. When I came back, you were gone. A part of me still wonders if I pushed you too hard after the wedding… I didn’t see you again until a month ago. It was a Wednesday. You were rocking back on your heels, balancing on that thick yellow line that runs along the subway platform, waiting for the F train. I didn’t know it was you until it was too late, and then you were gone. Again. You said my name; I saw it on your lips. I tried to will the train to stop, just so I could say hello. After seeing you, all of the youthful feelings and memories came flooding back to me, and now I’ve spent the better part of a month wondering what your life is like. I might be totally out of my mind, but would you like to get a drink with me and catch up on the last decade and a half? M Amazon: http://amzn.to/1cWjrnx B&N: http://bit.ly/1I2SlKd iTunes: http://apple.co/1D6wj1B I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. My heart is FULL after reading Before We Were Strangers. It’s quite possible the best book I’ve read all year! Award winning, photographer, recently divorced, 36 year old Matt is living a monotonous life. One day, by chance he sees his past. And that sight becomes a missed connection. You feel his heart come alive. You feel his heart beat the moment he sees Grace. You are transported to this moment. Time stops. And you FEEL it. Matt tries an unconventional way to reach out to Grace. He left his heart with Grace, and now he’s ready to get it back. Matt and Grace met in college as they live in the same building. There is an instant connection. While friends, you feel their underlying desire for each other. Once they admit those feelings, sparks fly. Their souls awaken. And you are there for every moment. The author allows you to live within the pages of the story. You breathe the author’s words. The banter is addicting. You will not be able to put this one down. Matt and Grace love with everything. With their entire being. It’s passionate, intense. Their love shatters. You as a reader are told a beautiful, unforgettable love story about two soul mates that time nor circumstance can even touch. Time did not dim the spark between them. If anything it made it more likely to ignite the moment they meet again. This story made my heart BEAT. I am vague in the plot and how its developed as this story needs be experienced. There are no words that can do this story justice. None. “You can’t create the the first time you promise to love someone or the first time you feel loved by another. You cannot relive the sensation of fear, admiration, self-consciousness, passion, and desire all mixed into one because it never happens twice.” Love bears all things. Endures all things. Love? Love is everything. And the love between Matt and Grace? It will overwhelm you. Challenge everything you ever believed in about love and all it encompasses. All it is capable of. Their love is magic. Their love saves, it heals. Their love wins. I can easily say there is not one story I can compare this one too. It is in a league of its own. The story is captivating. Compelling. The character development is brilliant. And the execution of the story was well developed. What causes Matt and Grace to be apart is heartbreaking. But their reunion will have you crying sadness and joy. Their souls are forever tethered and their story attests to this. Before We Were Strangers gave me LIFE. Every moment of this heartfelt, poignant story, moved me. I laughed. I cried. I lived. This story remains in my heart WEEKS later. This is SO much more than a second chance romance. So much DEEPER. If you could put every beautiful love story in one, the words would echo the words of this one. One should be so lucky to ever experience the kind of love that exists between Matt and Grace. Every obstacle and challenge life threw in their way, they overcame. If there was a recipe to write a deep, moving, emotional, beautiful love story this would be it. Even if I could give this story a million stars, even that would never be enough. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review As I sit here in front of my laptop, I'm having trouble putting words together to express how I really feel about this book. This is a problem I always have when I find that one book that it's so well-written, so beautiful that I cannot put a string of words together to describe all these emotions that I felt while I was reading this book. This book was like no other book I have read before. This book made me feel like I haven't in a while. This book was everything that I love in a book smashed into one. Matt and Grace met in college. They quickly became fast friends, best friends. Their love for one another began slowly, but also all at once if that makes any sense. But this one was those stories where love just wasn't enough and THAT is what made it so realistic to me. These were characters were their hopes, their dreams pulled them in different directions and I was unsure if they would come together ever. But that day, the day that Matt sees Grace in the subway, is the start of them having that second chance. What I loved the most (which, to tell you the truth, I usually hate) is the fact that I was not only reading their present story, but I also got to see how Matt and Grace's story began. I fell in love as they fell in love, my heart broke as their heart broke in this character-driven tale. With tears in my eyes, I enjoyed the highs and the lows of this love story. Once I finished reading it, I just did not want Matt and Grace's story to end. Their journey was a beautiful one and these are characters that I know will forever be in my heart. Renee Carlino, you have found yourself a new fan!

I seriously had no idea what to expect with this novella. I am a HUGE supporter of this author as she is amazing with her words. But a novella? Usually I am not a fan of them. I always want more. Paranormal? Hmmm. Not my usual, but....I am SO glad I decided to read this. It was mysterious and interesting and I am super excited about what’s to come. There is more coming right? So Lucien Chambers. There’s something sexy and mysterious about him.Dahlia Vaughn is instantly attracted to him and there’s no mistake why. Dahlia has been tasked with photographing Lucien. And she cannot stop thinking about him. They have some serious chemistry. When these two are together, it’s hot. Addicting. You have no idea what is to come next. It keeps you guessing as Lucien is unpredictable. I am excited about finding out more about this...man. Overall, I found this to be a quick read and am hoping the next installment gets deeper into the paranormal aspect. Who is Lucien? Where did he come from? What is he? I have so many questions. I will definitely be reading the rest of this story.
Just as I was taking in a sweeping gaze of the most magnificent Christmas party I’d ever attended, someone snuck up behind me and whispered in my ear, “You are such a little bitch, Dahlia.”
“Veronica,” I huffed, annoyed. I tried to spin around to confront my verbal assailant—who also happened to be my best friend and cousin who delighted in driving me crazy—but before I could get my bearings, Veronica’s delicate, slender fingers slid over my eyes. Everything went black, but the smells and sounds of the holidays were still all around me. Eggnog and cinnamon scents punctuated the air, and the comforting lull of classic holiday tunes filled my ears. But with my sight obscured as it was, there would be no more gazing at the yards and yards of multi-colored, twinkling lights draped from the raw wood beam rafters above me, and no more admiring the sparkling, decorated fifteen-foot fir in the far corner of the large banquet hall the party was being held in. Prior to Veronica’s interruption, I’d been mesmerized by the tree with its shiny glass ornaments and bright lights adorning the branches. I found it amazing how the holiday glow made all the beautiful party guests look even more dazzling. Glamorous and sophisticated, all dressed in their holiday party finest and milling around, drinking too much champagne, having too much fun. But the glitz and glamour were momentarily hidden from me, thanks to Veronica’s hand over my eyes. “Are you done,” I inquired. I made my tone sound miffed, but I wasn’t, not really. “No, and don’t look now,” she replied from behind me, hand still in place. “As if I could,” I interjected as I shifted from one way-too-high stiletto heel to the other. “So, why am I a bitch?” I continued. “And why in God’s name are you still covering my eyes?” “First, you’re not really a bitch,” Veronica replied apologetically. “And secondly, the answer to your other question, my dear, just walked in the door.” Aha! Her answer, not to mention her tone, meant one thing and one thing only--he was here.

I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review. Nothing prepared me for the third installment of this series. Nothing. Something Like Love went places I never imagined. I felt every emotion of all the characters. Every single one of them. This brilliant, passionate, and heartbreaking story continues to be one of my favorites of this author. “Hope to live. I hope to live, Red. With you. After this is over. I hope to live a boring life with you.” Something Like Love picks up where book 2, Something Like Redemption left off. Mia and Quinn are face to face with the one person that could have saved Mia and turned her back, Mia’s mother. She soon learns that her mother has her reasons and years later is completely heart broken over the choice she made to leave Mia. As always, Quinn is there every step of the way. We learn more about Quinn and his reasons for guarding his heart. Can they learn to live, love, and perhaps even heal? “Quinn Berkley is beautiful, inside and out. He’s shown me how to live, and through his strength, I have never felt so alive.” So much happens in the third installment that my words nor my review can do it justice. If you loved the first two books, you will become absolutely emotionally invested in this story , their journey, and these characters even more. Monica’s true talent of weaving together romance and suspense truly shines in Something Like Love. You will find that you are in the story, rather than reading it. Danger has followed Mia and Quinn for much of their journey, and believe me. It is far from over. I will not go into much detail regarding the plot as you will need to simply experience it. Their story is to be lived through to understand the depths of their love through all the darkness. “You are ingrained into every fiber of my body, and I’m drowning.” Something Like Love takes the entire series to a whole different level. As a reader you are completely immersed into Mia and Quinn’s story, even more than before. Mia comes face to face with her past and it breaks her. This strong girl is absolutely heart broken over what her parents have done to her. She holds on to Quinn. The boy she loves so much, but is afraid to say out loud. Until now. Secrets are revealed, hearts are broken and mended, and even darkness comes to light. “God knows I don’t deserve your love, but I want it...so very much.” To watch someone fall in love is one thing, but this journey that Mia and Quinn have embarked on is so much more than that. You are not a simple bystander in their story. You FEEL them fall irrevocably for the other. You see a broken girl, Mia that has never been loved wanting to love more than anything. And you see Quinn, someone who feels the most undeserving of love, wanting nothing more than to be loved. You understand why the word love hasn’t been shared between them up until this point. To put simply I am not sure that what they feel can be described by any words. Their desire for the other surpasses love. Their love is powerful, it goes into the darkness. Their love is light. Mia and Quinn’s story truly demonstrates the power in accepting the love you deserve. “What’s in here.” and he presses his hand to my heart. “I want to possess. I want to own, but I don’t deserve you. I never have.” My heart is still not over this book an entire week later as I write this review. I am so happy that their story isn’t over. The ending of Something Like Love had me gripping my kindle. As the story unfolds, truths are revealed and you will be on the edge of your seat the entire time. Well done, Ms. James. I am counting down until the next book in the series. Turning slowly to face him, I can see that his eyes are still closed, but his mouth is tipped up into a smile which radiates freedom. I’ve never seen him look so carefree. He looks as if his sins of the past are washing away with the punishing rain. I know it’s not that simple, but through pain and loss, we have bonded together and gained strength. And that strength suddenly animates me to tell Quinn how I feel. “Quinn!” I scream to be heard over the harsh rain. My eyes are mere slits, as the rain is so heavy, but the moment Quinn opens his magnetic eyes, I see that he has changed. Something inside of Quinn has shifted, and it’s beautiful. “Quinn, I—” I repeat, my teeth chattering from the cold, but also from what I’m about to confess. “You what, Red?” he questions, running a hand through his wet hair. Another thunderbolt sizzles through the sky, and I yelp. Charging into his arms, I slap my hands over his ears because I’m terrified. I want to him tell him how I feel, but I’m afraid. Droplets of rain cascade down his tender face, but he doesn’t stir to brush them away, and I know I have his undivided attention as his gaze never wavers from my face. This is not the way I wanted to do this, but I know that for now, this will have to do. “Quinn…I…I love you,” I whisper, my hands still sitting firmly over his ears. Once I say those three little words, the tightening in my chest lessens, and a small smile tugs at my lips because I’ve never felt so boundless with a decision. And nothing has ever felt so right before.
