I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
To put it simply, this book is brilliant. It fully captures the darkest day of a woman's life and life thereafter. There is always light in darkness. New Point? It tells that story. Effortlessly and beautifully.
We meet Zoe, who has come to New Point, Michigan. Months ago an event has caused her life to shrouded by constant darkness when a stranger stole her sense of freedom. Despite her past, she is now in a new place ready to work towards gaining her life back. The details of her tragedy? In all fairness to the reader, it is one you must read about. It would be a disservice to discuss her past. This is not your average broken girl story. There is so much more. The depth of her pain comes from a place that many of us will likely never experience. But Zoe?
“He’s my missing piece.”
So when she meets Miles? He’s the light in her darkness. He storms in to her life, completely unplanned. It just takes Zoe sometime to realize this. Her falling for him? One of my favorite parts. Miles falling for Zoe? Absolutely breathtaking. The talks, the notes in the sand. Just everything. This sexy bar owner will steal your heart. Oh. And you may never get it back. But how can she fully give herself to Miles when her past continues to haunt her? Opening herself to those memories will hurt, but she believes running away from love is her only option. Until that day happens. Again. He will watch her relive the darkest day of her life. But what does Miles do? He loves her harder. With his entire being. She soon learns that sometimes you go through things in life to get to where you’re supposed to be. And her past, it brought her to Miles. Once she learns to embrace her past, she accepts her present and future.
“Because I want all of you, damnit!”
“The best you have to offer and the worst. I want to pull you up the days you can't get out of bed. When you're smiling, I want to be the cause, and when you're crying, I want to take away the sadness.”
Why aren’t more people talking about this author? About this book? The synopsis in no way demonstrates the depth of this story. While it pulls you in, the story itself will resonate with you. No matter what life has thrown at you, this book will touch you. You will LIVE this story. The beauty of it lies within the characters and how they deal with circumstances. They are real, genuine, and relatable. New Point is one of those stories that allow you as a reader to completely immerse yourself in and not stop until the very last page. It is a flawlessly written book in that every word is heart felt. Every. Word.
“New Point isn’t known for much breaking and entering, but I have to admit, this looks mighty suspicious,” an unmistakably Midwestern accent drawls from behind me, effectively scaring the sweat off my bare shoulders.
A shriek escapes from my lips as I teeter preciously on the wood chair and my hands lose their grip on the white doorframe. The rubber of my flip flop doesn’t provide much traction and my body pitches sideways. In just a second I’ll crash against the deck floor and I’ll spend the summer recovering physically instead of gaining back my old–
Sturdy muscular arms slide around my waist and yank me against an equally firm chest. “Woah, there. I didn’t mean to scare you.” The masculine voice has a smile behind it.
“Probably shouldn’t go sneaking up on someone then,” I mutter once I catch my breath and untangle myself from his grasp. He chuckles at my retort, a rich baritone that makes me feel like shivering.
When I’m a step or two back I’m nearly breathless again, but this time for completely different reasons.
Sturdy was one way to describe his muscular grasp, but now that I have a full frontal view of him, I see my mistake. He’s perfect. Thick arms with nicely defined muscles that don’t bulge too aggressively beneath his white T-shirt, a broad chest, trim waist with low riding blue exercise shorts. And that’s just his body. Bright white teeth gleam at me from behind a broad smile. Thick, dark curly hair begs to have fingers run through it and he has coffee colored eyes framed by long lashes most girls want desperately.
He’s a combination of sultry sex appeal and mischievous intentions as displayed by the twist of his lips. Less than one minute in his presence and I’m practically swooning.
“Who are you?” I blurt out.
With a smirk, he crosses his arms across the planes of chest. “Shouldn’t I be asking the questions, Ms. Breaking and Entering?”

Release Day Blitz: Besotted and Seduce Me (Billionaire Banker Series #3 + #4) by Georgia Le Carre (@GeorgiaLeCarre) ~ Includes Excerpts!
The knock on the Lanesborough Suite’s door is firm and unhesitant. I glance at my watch. Very punctual. I like that. I open the door and… My, my, she is a beauty: waist-length, straight blonde hair, gorgeous big eyes. And scarlet lips. Lana almost never colors her lips so red. She is wearing a long, white coat belted at the waist and really, really high heels. They remind me of the shoes Lana wore the first night I met her.
She is chewing gum, though. I hate that. She must watch too many movies about big-hearted hookers. I put my hand out, palm outstretched. For a moment she looks at me, clueless. I raise my eyebrows and she hurriedly takes the gum out of her mouth and puts it into my hand. Then she raises her own eyebrows and cheekily stretches her hand out.
‘Don’t you want to come in first?’ I ask, amused but not showing it.
‘Of course,’ she says and walks past me. Her accent is odd. She must be making it up as she goes along.
I close the door and watch her walk ahead of me. She has a good walk. I like a woman who can walk with grace. She stops in front of the low table where there is a platter of fresh fruit and a bottle of champagne cooling in an ice bucket, then turns around to face me. For a moment I am distracted by the picture she makes standing in the agreeably English decor of traditional prints and chintzes teamed with bold choices of acid greens and Schiaparelli pinks.
‘I’m sorry, what’s your name?’
I smile. The name suits her. She looks like a rumor. Couldn’t possibly be true.
‘Would you like a glass of champagne?’
She lifts one foot and lets it swing back. It is impossibly erotic. ‘I’d like to be paid first.’
I don’t react to the provocation. ‘The money is by the lamp.’
She glances at the neat pile of money as she works the two buttons on her coat. The coat lands on the sofa behind her. She is wearing a very short white dress. Wordlessly, she turns away from me and bends from the waist, so her ass is pushed out and her skirt rides up to where her smooth thighs indent and I glimpse the other thing I had specified—a freshly waxed pussy. The lips are already swollen and reddened, and as I watch moisture starts to gather.
Immediately I am hard as hell.
Slowly, holding that position, she counts the money. The desire to ram her while she is counting her money is strong, but I resist. She puts the last note on top of the pile she has counted, and turns to face me.
‘Yeah,’ she says slowly, her acquired accent undergoing another change. ‘All there.’
I move towards her and put my hand between her legs. Obligingly, she parts them and my fingers start to play with the soaking flesh.
‘So Rumor, what shall we do with you?’
‘Blake,’ I say persuasively, as I continue to explore the silky, wet folds.
Seduce Me - Book 4 in the Billionaire Banker Series
Title: In Pursuit
Author: Olivia Luck
Publication Date: February 11th 2014
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance
Eddie Neff needs space. Not the type that country stars croon about, but physical distance from her emotionally distant father and the tatters of a broken relationship. So when the opportunity to relocate her life and interior design business arises, the answer comes easily.
Adjusting to life with Claire, her gregarious new roommate, is more than simply testing comfort limits. With just one meeting, Eddie finds herself unable to resist the draw of Harris Grant, Claire’s brooding and overprotective older brother.
Harris doesn’t fit her idea of a safe relationship. He pushes Eddie to face her deepest insecurities and fears of abandonment. And Harris holds on to his own painful loss, unable to overcome personal demons.
Eddie and Harris must learn to conquer their internal struggles. But as they navigate their new love, outside forces fight to drive them apart.
Eddie Neff leaves her old life behind to start a new one in Chicago. She ends up rooming with the rich socialite, Claire Grant. This new life of hers goes in a direction that she never imagined. Claire's brother, Harris is mysterious, brooding, and HOT. You feel the instant attraction he has to Eddie, but he tries to fight it. He has a heightened sense of responsibility to Claire, and his want or need for Eddie is in the way. Eventually, Harris can no longer harbor his feelings the more he gets to know Eddie.
“Because holding you settles my chaos.”
Eddie is a heroine that I really liked. While she has been through a lot in her past, she is strong and independent. She makes the move to another city and establishes her self professionally. She has a fighting spirit about her. Harris. Sigh. Where do I begin? He demands attention when he walks into a room. He's assertive and dominant in everything he does. Yet, he has a soft vulnerable side to him that we eventually get to see a glimpse of. Something tells me that we are going to get to see more into his beautiful soul. He is in unimaginable pain. You feel his pain as you read this story. You also feel his need and want to care about someone and to have someone care about him. It's like he's been afraid of feeling again, but Eddie breaks down that barrier and allows him to feel again.
"Because you've shown me that there's a woman out there who can being me to my knees..."
The author was able to successfully mix romance in with mystery. It allowed me as the reader, to keep thinking of what would happen next, and I was surprised at the twists and turns in the story. I found that it was a beautiful debut. It was well-written and I look forward to more of this authors work.
In Pursuit is one of those books that you instantly fall in love with. I found myself, laughing out loud, yelling at the characters, and swooning over Harris. I loved the flow of the story. It kept me engaged and I found it hard to put down. The characters are unique and likable. I absolutely cannot wait until the next installment of this series is released.
I’m working on dinner when the front door opens and closes more softly than usual. I’m in the middle of singing to myself, On my Own from Les Miserables, when he starts making his way into the condo. I do not hide my voice from him, instead I work through the words of the song, emoting the loneliness held in the lyrics.
Before I see him, I feel him. The way my heart starts galloping in my chest, the knife becoming slippery in my damp palm. My skin starts to tingle, still humming in appreciation from his earlier touches. I sing softly to myself, the words slipping out. I don’t feel the usual rush of shyness. He should see this side of me.
When our eyes connect as he enters the kitchen, I know he’s feeling something, too, by the way that his eyes soften at the sight of me and his lips flicker upward for a half second. I cut the song short, ending before the singer professes her love.
Neither of us speaks as he crosses the galley kitchen. I avert my eyes back to the task in front of me as he moves behind me. He places one palm on either side of countertop, caging me in.
I concentrate on my breathing, but it doesn’t help the racing of my heart or the butterflies of excitement fluttering in my stomach. We’re not physically touching, but every pore of my body hums with energy.
“Do you feel that?” he asks huskily.
“Yes,” I breathe.
His cheek brushes against my hair in an achingly tender gesture.
His arms drop and he puts distance between us, his features oddly calm.
