*I received an e-ARC from the author in exchange for my honest review
With a blurb like Raw's you know it's going to be one hell of a ride from beginning to end; it did not disappoint. This is going to be a short review because I don't want to spoil any little things so that when you read it, you get the full experience.
Twitch is not your typical main male character. He's not good. At all. He like to be in control at all times and has an addictive personality. Most things you know are bad, to him, are good. He has a crazy temper and is kind of scary, well a lot scary. He's been stalking Lexi for a while. She's the complete opposite of him. She's sweet, caring, and loves helping people. I hated Twitch at times and in others, I kind of understood why he did the things he did. In the beginning of the book, I did not like some of the decisions she made. I found them a little realistic, but this not being your typical "romance" book, I just went with the flow of things. I also really liked that it had the point of view of Twitch and Lexi.
The blurb doesn't give much away, so any turn of events took me by surprise, which I liked. I liked how the author did not hold back when the characters encountered certain situations, but thought that in other she could have taken it a step further. This book evoked a lot of emotions in me as I was reading it. I got frustrated, happy, and most of all angry at sad. When I finished this book very late last night, I was a blubbering mess; a book hasn't left me like that in a LONG time.
Overall, I really liked this book. If you are looking for a book full of puppies and rainbows, this is not for you. You have to read this book with an open mind, don't try to label people or situations in this book, and take it as it comes. If you can read this book while doing all three things, you're really going to enjoy this book. I highly recommend you read it!!
Staring down at my chest, she takes a step closer to me and whispers miserably, “I’m here to let Brad fuck me.” My cheek ticks and head implodes. She steps closer to me to add, “He’s going to fuck me. Fuck me til I forget you. Til I forget I ever met you. He’s helping me drown you out and I like when I’m not thinkin’ about you.”
She looks into my eyes and repeats on a whisper, “You’re poison.”
Belle Aurora is twenty six years old and was born in the land down under. At an early age she fell in love with reading. Boredom one summer had her scouring the bookshelves at home. She stumbled across Sandra Brown’s Breath of Scandal and fell in love with romance. Having been brought up in a loud and boisterous family of Croatian descent, she developed a natural love for dramatics and humor. Only some years ago had she discovered a new love. Humorous romance novels. Kristen Ashley and R.L. Mathewson had opened a brand new world where she could lose herself yet feel safe and at home in their stories. Belle has been known to become a screeching banshee while anxiously awaiting their newest titles. Belle never thought she would write. It had never interested her until recently. Friend-Zoned began to form and in February this year Belle typed the words Chapter One. And she fell in love. With words. With writing. With a creative imagination she never knew she harbored.
