Release Day Blast - Stealing Rose (The Fowler Sisters #2) by @MsMonicaMurphy ~ Ava and Kat's Double Review
*I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.*
Do you ever read a book just at the right time? For me, Stealing Rose was that book. I was after something light, sexy and hot. And Monica Murphy provided all three.
Rose is the youngest of the Fowler sisters and in need of a break from the family business. In Cannes, Rose decides to be reckless for once and that’s when she bumps into smooth talker Caden. Rose puts her moment of madness behind her and travels on to London to visit Violet, only to find it’s a small world after all and the mysterious Caden also happens to be there.
After a sexy bathroom meet, a clandestine, whirlwind romance ensues and I loved watching the two characters grow. Rose was the quiet girl, always going with the flow and never speaking out at the company. During her time with Caden, she slowly began to find her voice and realised it was time for her to do what she wanted to do.
"I sort of like how mysterious Caden is. I know nothing beyond his first name, the taste of his lips, and the wonderful things he can do to me with his fingers. And I'm thinking maybe that's plenty enough."
Caden was a bad boy. So much so, I really did wonder how Monica would swing it that I would fall for him and want him to be the guy for Rose. Of course, Monica nailed it. I loved Caden, his history wasn’t squeaky clean and if it was one of my girlfriends I’d be telling her to run a mile, but it’s fiction and for this story I went with it because I felt the connection between the characters and wanted them to experience happiness they both rightly deserved.
"He marked me. It felt so primitive and possessive, seeing those fingerprints on my skin. I've never been a man's profession before. But I feel like his. And he feels like mine."
I finished this book in a day, I really didn’t want to put it down and that was greatly due to the writing. I find Monica’s books always easy to read and I know I’m going to get a hot romance with a whole load of heart.
"You reached right into my chest and took my heart like it fully belonged to you. And I think it does."
If you loved Violet’s story, you will adore Rose’s and I for one can’t wait to see what’s in store for Lily, the wild child, in book three.

Rose, an heir to the Fowler Cosmetic empire, where expensive jewelry goes along with the high class parties. Caden, the mysterious new man on the scene, with eyes for all things expensive and shiney.
My first thought after finding out what Caden's profession was...how is this possibly going to work between them?! Are the people in Rose's life really going to be able to accept someone like him? Can he change? How exactly will he make that change? It seemed a little impossible to me. At first...
One of the things I loved most about this book, was the passion they had. It was vibrant. It was explosive. Every damn time these two touch each other it was like fireworks. Super damn hot stuff, the things these two brought to the table. Even with all of that, there's always the question, is that enough? Do they want more than the physical relationship they share? Things are about to get real complicated as they come to realize their feelings for each other. Therein lies the catch...
Caden knew he wasn't good enough. Rose knew he needed to change. You can't exactly take a guy like that home to daddy. Rose made him want to be a better man. An honest man worthy of what was needed to ensure her future was stable and that she wasn't ashamed of the things he had done. And again I asked, HOW IS THIS EVER GOING TO WORK?! So the man did what the man needed to do.
Now, even though Rose could have found him and told him what she should have, she didn't. It was by chance their paths crossed again to find each other. I wonder if that hadn't of happened, how long would she have waited to find him? I really hope in her heart she would have done it as soon as possible. But luckily, she had other people making it happen for her. And as soon as Caden heard the news, he went running. There was no way a man like that would wait another minute for the woman he loved.
I thought this was a great story. Again the passion is what held me in there. It was great to see as Rose come out of her shell and watch Caden become an honourable man. I'm looking forward to see what Monica has in store for us with Lily's story next!

I’ve moved through life doing what’s expected of me. I’m the middle daughter, the dutiful daughter. The one who braved a vicious attack and survived. The one who devoted herself to her family’s business empire. The one who met an ambitious man and fell in love. We were going to run Fleur Cosmetics together, Zachary and I.
Until he got a promotion and left me in the dust. Maybe it’s for the best, between his disloyalty and his wandering eye. But another man was waiting for me. Wanting me. He too has an overwhelming thirst for success, just like Zachary—perhaps even more so. He’s also ruthless. And mysterious. I know nothing about Ryder McKay beyond that he makes me feel things I’ve never felt before.
One stolen moment, a kiss, a touch . . . and I’m hooked. Ryder’s like a powerful drug, and I’m an addict who doesn’t want to be cured. He tells me his intentions aren’t pure, and I believe him. For once, I don’t care. I’m willing to risk everything just to be with him. Including my heart. My soul.

I’m in trouble. Again. And instead of facing my problems head on, I’ve run away. Far away this time, and no one can catch me—not my two younger sisters, Violet and Rose, not my father, my grandmother, or that witch Pilar who wants to take control of my family’s cosmetics company. Now I’m in Hawaii, enjoying the sun and the sand and water, where nobody knows the hot mess known as Lily Fowler. And I’m loving every minute of it.
But someone is watching me. Following me. He’s gorgeous. And soon we’re talking, and against all my instincts, I reveal bits and pieces of myself to Max. It feels good, though I know he can’t be the man for me. These sudden feelings we share are way too complicated, too fraught, too intense.
Then everything explodes and I’m forced to return home. My intentions have always been true, but now everyone’s mad at me. I don’t know who to turn to anymore . . . except to Max. He’s who I want to trust. But I’m not so sure I should. Maybe it’s worth the risk—and what-ifs be damned. . . .
