*I received an ARC in exchanged for an honest review.*
I loved Valerie in The Only One, she was Mel's older, crazy sister and she deserved a book of her own. The storyline of marrying a stripper whilst drunk in Vegas sounded so typical Val and I knew we were in for a fun read.
Val seemed quite straight laced as the book started, perhaps because she was in work mode but it wasn't until near the end that feisty Val made an appearance. She was upfront and truthful and most of the time funny with it. Each instalment is 50 pages and I felt we did get a lot of information for a short book, the actual agreement to the wedding was short and sweet. I think if we got to live it through a drunken flashback it would have been funnier, it stemmed from an off the cuff comment and then it was done. I needed a little more to be convinced that Mel would take the plunge with this hot stripper guy.
From the morning after, Val was mortified as you would expect yet Wes thought this was no big deal, it did have me questioning his intentions as it wasn't just a one night stand, there were law-binding strings attached! Then Val was somehow saddled with paying for him to rectify their heat of the moment decision. I felt wary of Wes and I don't think that was the author's intention but I couldn't help think 'Dude, grow your own pair!'
I liked Val's work colleagues and the Vegas strip show was a fun background. I think we will be in for more fun and frolics as the series progresses.
One Wild Night is a fun, flirty read. 'Wild Wes' hasn't completely won me over yet, so I do look forward to the next episode to see how it develops further. For .99 you should check this one out today.
