Release Week Blitz - And Then He Kissed Me (White Pine #2) by Kim Amos ~ Ava's Review and Giveaway!!
*I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.*
I wanted to read a small town romance as it’s not something I know a lot about so when And Then He Kissed Me came up, I jumped at the chance. This book had everything I was expecting and more. It was set in a quaint town with lots of interesting, likeable characters and a couple I couldn’t help but root for.
I do love a second chance romance and that’s what I got between Audrey and Kieran. They had a whirlwind love affair only for Kieran to abruptly leave without an explanation. Now—five years later—Kieran is back and determined to make amends with Audrey.
Audrey was a strong female character and I yearn for them in stories. Life dealt her a less than stellar hand and instead of letting it get her down, Audrey pulled up her boots and got on with life.
I liked Kieran’s character, it was obvious he had to leave Audrey for a reason so immediately I did feel for him and never did I have him pegged as the bad guy. I also liked that his secret was revealed quite early on so that I wasn’t left hanging during the course of the book.
This is my first story by Kim Amos and I immediately found her writing easy to read. I loved the small community she created and even though I started this series at book two, I was able to read it as a standalone and now I’m intrigued enough to want to read book one.
And Then He Kissed Me was more than a sweet romance, there was an element of suspense—no matter how subtle—with a bit of mystery too. I really liked this theme and it kept me reading into the wee hours.
If you are looking for a small town, second chance romance with endearing characters and a lot of heart, then I recommend you try this one.
