They don’t play for the same team. Or do they?
Jamie Canning has never been able to figure out how he lost his closest friend. Four years ago, his tattooed, wise-cracking, rule-breaking roommate cut him off without an explanation. So what if things got a little weird on the last night of hockey camp the summer they were eighteen? It was just a little drunken foolishness. Nobody died.
Ryan Wesley’s biggest regret is coaxing his very straight friend into a bet that pushed the boundaries of their relationship. Now, with their college teams set to face off at the national championship, he’ll finally get a chance to apologize. But all it takes is one look at his longtime crush, and the ache is stronger than ever.
Jamie has waited a long time for answers, but walks away with only more questions—
can one night of sex ruin a friendship? If not, how about six more weeks of it? When Wesley turns up to coach alongside Jamie for one more hot summer at camp, Jamie has a few things to discover about his old friend...and a big one to learn about himself.
Warning: contains sexual situations, hotties on hockey skates, skinnydipping, shenanigans in an SUV and proof that coming out to your family on social media is a dicey proposition.

Him was my first read by both Elle Kennedy and Sarina Bowen and I have to say, I really enjoyed it. Him was an easy read that I didn’t want to put down. Both Jamie and Wes were likeable characters that I rooted for throughout the story.
The authors’ writing meshed flawlessly. I heard that both had turns at writing each POV and they nailed it, never would you know it was written by a duo as their words flowed as one.
Him was on the lighter side of the m/m romances I have read and I would say it’s perfect if you are new to the genre or unsure if you would like it. Him is a great place to start. Both boys had to come to terms with who they were now as well as their growing feelings for each other. I particularly liked the way the author’s dealt with Jamie’s sexuality and went for something a little different.
If you enjoy hockey romances then Him also hits the spot. I loved the inclusion of the sport as well as the growing romance. I know nothing about hockey but I don’t mind reading about it. Him gave me just enough description to follow the story without being overwhelming or boring. And who doesn’t love hot hockey men?
I am now a fan of both Sarina and Elle and I really can’t wait to discover more of their stories. Both individually and I hope they do write together again.
If you love a sweet m/m romance with hot sexy times and a story with heart, then you need to check out Him.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
FEELS. Laughter. Love. That pretty much embodies everything about this story for me. HIM was everything and more that I could’ve wanted in an M/M romance. It was everything.
“Jamie Canning was my first crush and my first love. But he was never mine to have.”
Ryan Wesley (Wes) likes boys. He’s been in love with his best friend, Jamie Canning since they were young boys at summer hockey camp. While at camp a bet was placed that challenged and then damaged the boys and their friendship. Wes cut off Jamie without a word. He was forced to face his feelings and the truth that Jamie will never be his. Years later as college hockey players, they are thrown back into each other’s lives. Seeing the other won’t be easy, but both men are ready face the other. The moment they meet, the past comes back full force. Feelings resurface. Hearts collide. And they realize that their hearts beat simply by being in the presence of the other.
The moment Wes and Jamie were in a room together there was an overwhelming magnetism. And you FELT it. You understand their pull. The summer before Wes and Jamie are to go off to their future professional jobs in the hockey world, they spend six weeks at their old summer hockey camp as coaches. They easily fall back into their friendship and banter and soon realize that spending years apart made no difference. The thing between them was always there. But this time? It was stronger. More intense. Wes always loved Jamie but he was never his to have. Jamie questioned his feelings for Wes, but never denied them. At least not to himself. He knew deep down that his heart had a place for Wes. But he’s never felt like this over a man before. He soon learns that love only sees the one it’s heart belongs to. And Wes owned Jamie’s heart.
“I’d forgotten how magnetic he is. As if he burns with higher fuel than the rest of us.”
The authors seamlessly wrote an engaging and extraordinary story. The words, the execution of the plot, and the characters are a true testament to not only their writing abilities, but to their talent of story telling. There was never a lull or boring moment. My heart was in this story the entire time. I never wanted to put it down. The authors truly did an amazing job as writing as one as the story was solid from beginning to end.
“Loved you every summer since I was thirteen years old. Love you even more now.”
THIS story attests to the truth in that love is love. The story is so much more about two men falling in love. It’s about choosing love at all times, no matter what. That love doesn’t look for opportunity. Love simply goes where it belongs. I loved that there was no unnecessary drama. Wes and Jamie deal with real life issues. Their feelings, hopes, and dreams are genuine and you felt everything from these two men. If there’s one thing I love about M/M romance is that you are never told about love. Love is never explained or forced. Love is felt in every part of the story. And Wes and Jamie? They were no different. They loved fiercely. Loudly. Their love endured. HIM captured my heart from the very first page until the very end. It was the perfect mix of sweet, sexy, and passionate romance that I look for in reading. Oh and it was HOT! I love Sarina Bowen and this story further solidifies my admiration of her as an author. I also now must read anything Elle Kennedy writes. If you are a lover of M/M romance and believe that love overcomes any circumrstance, then HIM is a must read.

Until I dare to be wild.
Until Alec Marquez crashes into my world.
Until all that follows redefines everything I've ever known.
What happens when you stumble into a world of spies...and discover you belong there?

Genre: Romantic Suspense / Action-Adventure Romance /
Erotic Romance (sensual, explicit, sexual awakening)
I became easily engrossed in The Espionage Effect as the characters and the story itself was intoxicating, full of suspense, and adventure. You have no idea what is to come next. I found it hard to put down, yet excited when I was able to pick it back up and get lost again in the story.
Devin Hill is a genius. And that’s putting it mildly. Her IQ is pretty high. But the rest of her life? It’s pretty drab. That is until Alex Marquez crashes into her life during her vacation Oh and he is a spy. Alec has no idea what he is in for with Devin, but whatever it is he is all in. Devin finds that her dark world has a bit more of color since Alec entered it. And the color in her world was everything she needed. But perhaps its Alec who needs her the most.
Can we talk about the connection between Devin and Alec? It was off the charts, addicting, and intense. While mysterious, Alex is also devastatingly handsome. Very much so. Devin finds it easy to be in a hot and passionate affair with him. But what does she truly know about this man? Everything isn’t what it seems. And secrets? They eventually come to light. But how many secrets can someone really have?
The Espionage Effect was such an exhilarating read. I found that the authors seamlessly wrote a story that I became easily lost in and there was never a lull or boring moment. The erotic and romantic elements had the perfect balance within the story along with the suspense. It is easily seen how comfortable the authors are with their writing as the story reads as if it was written by one person rather than two. This was very well done and I look forward to more of their work.

Nathan is terrible at relationships… Just ask his absent father, his controlling aunt and uncle…or his ex-girlfriend, Sarah. All he wants is to spend the summer before his senior year relaxing in the sun without any conflict or drama. But when he lays eyes on the beautiful, married mother of three at the opening of a yacht club, all bets are off. Jacqueline McCarthy’s life is nothing but a façade… Her husband is a disgraced former athlete who prefers to have his ego stroked by other women. Jackie fills her empty days with yacht club events with other bored, wealthy housewives she can’t stand, and she’d give anything to truly connect with someone. When she meets Nathan and asks him to watch her children, she is captivated by the handsome, charismatic young man with a swimmer’s body. Jacqueline’s attraction to Nathan doesn’t go unnoticed and one particular vindictive gossip is determined to expose what she considers an unsavory secret. Her campaign of rumors and innuendo—and eventually physical evidence—draws the attention of friends and strangers alike, and threatens to bring their world crashing down. However, sometimes those who are quickest to judge are the last ones who should be throwing stones…
This was such a great read! I’ve never read anything by this author before, but the blurb and taboo or forbidden love aspect intrigued me so I dived in. I am so glad I did as this story was so much more than I expected. Love when this happens!
Nathan is not your typical teenager. While he may not be the best at relationships per se, you then realize its simply because he needs something more. That something more shows up in his life as he meets Jacqueline (Jackie) McCarthy by chance at the country club. She is married with three children. Her husband is far from devoted and Jacqueline is well aware of this. As Nathan begins to babysit for Jackie, unexpected sparks fly for them both. While they understand their relationship may be looked down upon, the spark between them cannot be ignored. Their souls simply light up while in the presence of the other.
I found their love and relationship to be inspiring. The author has a talent in seamlessly writing a story that is realistic as it explores the ups and downs of love and all that it entails. Love cannot be placed in a box. Love cannot be defined. And Nathan and Jacqueline’s love attests to that. This is so much more than your average older woman, younger man story. The steam factor was minimal, which I liked as the story didn’t need it for you to understand Jacqueline and Nathan’s relationship. I did find this to be a bit more of a coming of age story than contemporary romance, nevertheless it was still a beautiful read.
Courting Mrs. McCarthy was such a refreshing read as you not only watch, but feel two people that you would never think belong together follow their hearts. For the heart understands everything thats good for the soul. The author tastefully crafted a forbidden relationship that you can’t help but root for. These characters are real. Genuine. And you are witness to their inner struggle with their feelings. But secrets don’t stay hidden forever. Eventually they come out. And those involved are left to deal with the aftermath. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and recommend it.

*I received an ARC of this book from the author, in exchange for an honest review.*
This series is one of the best combinations of mythology and urban fantasy. It’s my thing. And Ellie Di Julio managed to keep this true, even though it’s been a long time since I read the previous installment in the series.
One of the biggest factors of why this series works so well for me is the two main characters. Cora just keeps getting better as a heroine, becoming stronger and knowing her own character flaws. This was especially true in this book, since Cora knew when she was being overdramatic, or heading down a dark path. I really appreciated that type of maturity.
As for Jack, he continued to endear himself to me. He’s changed a lot throughout the course of these three books. He’s learning what it’s like to have true, deep emotions, and I love watching him grow into himself. All of this is really evident in this novel, because we see some things from his perspective. I really liked watching him develop strength based on his feelings, and I’m really excited to see where he ends up at the end of this series.
In this book, Jack got assigned to guard a Japanese ambassador while she’s on assignment in New York, vampires were turning up as ash all around NYC, and there’s a relic that Cora and Jack need to find to keep world-changing catastrophe from happening. And on top of all that, it’s revealed that the agency possibly has some spies. So yes, this book was quite fast-paced, just the way I like my urban fantasy. Also, I found myself really liking the world-building of this series. The idea that supernatural creatures’ identities and personalities could be shaped by human belief is just fascinating. I loved it!
In the end, I totally recommend this book for urban fantasy readers. Of course, if you haven’t started this series, definitely go back to the beginning and start with book one, “The Transmigration of Cora Riley”. You need to read this series in order to understand everything. Besides, why wouldn’t you want to? There are gods, mythological artifacts, and tons of supernatural creatures. In short, get on this series!

I’ve always believed in what I can see, what I can hear and what I can touch. Surfing was my religion and destiny was just a fairy-tale. But one summer, over ten days during the hottest February on record, all that changed. I found hope – the kind of hope that sustains you, even when you don’t want to be sustained.
The night Emily disappeared, I was branded. She became the girl on the ‘missing’ posters, and I became the one trying to keep everyone from falling apart. I thought that somehow it would keep me from being devoured by the emptiness inside me. Five years later, I was beginning to appreciate how deluded I really was.
Then Maia showed up. New in town, with a past as mysterious as she was, she reminded me so much of Emily that I couldn’t stand to be anywhere near her. What I didn’t realise was that there were forces at play that neither of us could possibly understand.
It takes a determined soul to alter destiny. There is a loophole, a back door, and the events that unfolded during those ten days showed me how that loophole can change everything.
Do you believe in fate? If so, let me tell you my story. If not, what happened to me might change your mind.

Hours later as I write this review, I am still thinking about this story and it’s characters. HOURS later. It’s been awhile since I’ve truly felt a book like this. It consumed me. I was lost inside the pages and never left until the very last word. The Trouble With Paper Planes absolutely moved me.
“Perhaps the shared wonder at what we had stumbled across was part of the magic.”
It’s been five years since Emily has been missing. Heath has never been the same. His other half gone. Missing. His life? Empty. Every day is a struggle. He knows he should accept she isn’t coming back and move on, but a flicker of hope continues to live within him. When Maia shows up in town, she has an uncanny resemblance to Emily. But she isn’t Emily. The similarities cause him so much pain, but he is drawn to her.
You will question destiny. You will question fate. The underlying connection between Maia and Heath is deep. Maia is emotionally lost. And Heath makes her want to be found. Heath finds it easier to breathe with Maia in his life. And it goes further than the resemblance to Emily. Maia reminds him that there’s a difference between living and simply existing. The Trouble With Paper Planes is for the reader to experience and get lost in. Discussing the plot any further would do a disservice to the reader. You will LIVE this book.
“...but to hand someone the key to your happiness is the most courageous move you’ll ever make.”
I am not sure if words can truly describe Maia and Heath. Their feelings are on a level that some of us that have ever been in love would be even half lucky to experience. They are unlike any other couple you will ever meet. You feel their pain, their sense of loss, and the spark they ignite within each other. But their love? Their love transcends.
Can we talk about the WORDS? This story truly attests to the talent of the author and not only her writing style but her words. Her words are powerful. Inspiring. I was emotionally overwhelmed in the best way possible. The prologue grabbed me. The story mesmerized me. And the epilogue? I cried my heart out. Not because it was sad. Just the beauty in the ending. It reminded me just how connected I became to these characters and their heartbreaking yet beautiful story.
“I ached for her. My body, my heart, my soul- every part of me.”
If I could give The Trouble With Paper Planes a million stars, I would. This brilliant, thought provoking story is not predictable. You cannot go into it thinking you know exactly what is going to happen. This is not that kind of book. It easily shatters the mold. The author does not conform to the typical romance genre. She takes chances. Risks. And I commend her for doing so. Isn’t that what reading is about? Pushing us to think differently? This author does that and more. This story? It gave me LIFE.
“If forever lasts a hundred years, it’s not gonna be nearly enough.”
The Trouble With Paper Planes will challenge all your thoughts on love, destiny, and fate. This poignant story will leave an imprint on your heart. It will stay with me for a long time to come. So as I end this review, remember that love wins. Always. For love overcomes all things. Bears all things. And sometimes. Just sometimes. Love is magic.

The second installment of this series was captivating. Dare I say that it was even better than the first? Dahlia and Lucien cannot fight their attraction. It goes beyond the surface for them. They simply cannot stay way from each other. But them being together may not be so easy.
Lucien’s cousin, Selene comes crashing in one day and her arrival shakes their foundation to its core. As Lucien and Dahlia admit their true feelings, circumstances surrounding Lucien threatens to keep them apart. These two are determined to get through it together, but at what cost? There are consequences for their actions. And their actions play a part in the lives of others.
While some things are answered this time around, there are now even more questions. I don’t think I could’ve flipped the pages fast enough. Unveiled goes much deeper than the first book. Lucien and Dahlia are even more passionate this time around. Their love consumes. And that ending? It left me speechless. I really enjoyed this follow up as I found it well written despite being a novella. There were enough details to make me want (beg!) for more. I need to know what happens and I will certainly be counting down until the next installment.

**This novel can be read as a stand-alone**
I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
Millionaire CFO Jordan Fawkes is a jerk. He is a love and leave them kind guy. His past has made him this way and he never looks back. During one night at Comic-Con he hooks up with an intern. He knows its wrong, but he wants her. She will have no idea who he is. But then there’s a problem. A big one. A certain tape with an intern begins to circle the internet. And that intern? April Weiss becomes his assistant. She just has no idea that Jordan also plays a role in that video.
This was so much more than the usual boss and intern story. It does not follow the typical storyline. Jordan and April had such a strong connection. It is not instant. It develops over time. Watching them fall effortlessly for each other was quite entertaining. We learn that under that hardened exterior, Jordan is quite funny and charming. And can we talk about devastatingly handsome he is? (Sorry Adam!). He and April are quite the match. But, both have walls around their hearts to protect themselves. What made it interesting is that they had very different reasons. April never felt good enough. That she never deserves the benefit of the doubt. And Jordan? His heart was broken into pieces and never have been pieced back together. But April made those shattered pieces not ache as much. And Jordan? He made April see that she is worthy of so much more. Maybe even worthy of being loved.
“I never changed my mind, April. You changed my heart.”
And Jordan changed my heart as well. Sigh. What I love most about this series and this author is that it doesn’t follow the rules. She breaks them and makes up her own rules. The character development is out of this world. She allows you to truly get to know her characters as they are fun, quirky, nerdy, and just so well rounded. The story line is always engaging and you easily get lost. For The Win was no different. I found it very hard to put down this book.
For The Win is a brilliant addition to this series. Jordan and April’s banter, their journey to love, and the rest of the characters are a true testament to the author’s talent in writing a captivating and engaging story about love and finding it in places least expected. I am so excited about what’s to come in this series. We get Liam’s story? I. Cannot. Wait.

Taming Lily is the third and final book in the Fowler Sisters series. It was the turn of wild child Lily to get her story.
Lily has always felt like a disappointment to her family. Her contribution to the family business is non-existent and instead she is known for brining scandal and shame to the Fluer cosmetics name. But when Lily discovers a secret that can blow everything apart, Lily does what she does best: she runs.
Sexy, mysterious Max is sent to keep an eye on Lily. She has something he needs but instead, as soon as Max sets his eyes on the sexy singleton, it’s not longer about the job; it’s about taming the wild girl he sees before him.
“She is a woman who was made to submit yet is scared to give up control.”
Max and Lily’s relationship was a volatile one and it worked. They were both headstrong people reluctant to give up control. The push and pull between them made for some interesting results and it was fun to see both Max and Lily fight for dominance. But it was even sweeter to see them both mellow and find themselves by the end of the book.
Now I must say this has to be Monica Murphy’s sexiest book yet. And believe me, there was no shortage of the hot stuff. If I were a smoker, I’d be stepping outside for a cigarette to calm me down after reading this book. However, I did feel some of the sex took away the focus of the story for me, the suspense momentum slowed down because Lily and Max couldn’t keep their clothes on. I mean I get it, they were young and hot for each other but with the other things going on I was on tenterhooks wondering how it would all pan out. I can’t fault Max for his stamina, the boy should be proud, I just wanted him to get there quicker ;). But joking aside, I did enjoy Lily and Max’s relationship. Their true characters were slowly drawn out in between the bouts of sex and when we did see glimpses of it, I clung onto them, craving more.
Taming Lily was a quick, fun and entertaining read. If you have followed the series from the beginning the Pilar storyline comes to a head and even though it wasn’t overly dramatic, it was great to see Lily come into her own and seek revenge.
As always Monica Murphy writes sexy stories with endearing characters. With a formula like that, you can’t go wrong.

Title: The Allure of Julian Lefray
Author: R.S. Grey
Release Date: June 29, 2015
Subject: Justin Timberlake Nudes!
Lily, you predictable perv. I knew you’d open this email faster if I tempted you with a glimpse of JT's “PP”. Well, put your pants back on and grab some bubbly because I have much better news to share.
I GOT A JOB!
As of tomorrow, I’ll be the new executive assistant at Lorena Lefray Designs. I am SO excited, but there’s one itty bitty problem: I won’t be Lorena’s assistant. I’ll be working for her older brother, Julian.
I know what you're thinking- "But Jo, what’s the problem?"
Google him. Now. He’s the man in the fitted navy suit whose face reminds you that there’s hope yet for this cruel, ugly world. Keep scrolling…Do you see those dimples? Yup. That’s the Julian Lefray I will be reporting to tomorrow morning.
Lord, help us all...
I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
When I am in the mood to be completely engrossed in a story full of fun, sexy, witty humor, I usually read (or reread) this author’s work. The Allure of Julian Lefray was no different. I loved every moment from the first page to the very last word.
Josephine (Jo) Keller leaves her small town in Texas for NYC. She is a fashion blogger and is determined to make it big in the city. Especially since she is super broke. She learns of an executive assistant position to Lorena Lefray Designs and gets it after she makes quite the impression. The problem lies in the fact that she will actually be the assistant to Lorena Lefray’s brother, Julian LeFray. Once you meet Julian you will understand why this is a problem. A big one.
As Jo and Julian begin to work closely together, the attraction does not go unnoticed. They easily fall for one another as time goes on. Their chemistry is intoxicating. Their banter will have you laughing out loud. You may think twice about reading this in public. The author is brilliant in her craft of truly developing her characters. She places you in their story. You become attached. Engrossed in their lives. And you may never want to leave. This is exactly how I felt about this story.
The Allure of Julian Lefray is not like any other girl falls for boss story. The author strategically puts her own fresh spin on their relationship. Jo is fun and sassy. She is also probably one of the funniest heroines I’ve ever read. If only I could be as quirky and witty like her. And Julian? Words fail to truly describe him. Not only is he devastatingly handsome, but he’s intelligent, funny, and caring. My only hiccup with this story was the time it took for Jo and Julian to truly admit their feelings. I would’ve liked to see them together more. However, I am hoping (begging!) the author for more Jo and Julian as I am not ready to see them go.
I am a lover of books, chocolate, reality TV, black labs, and cold weather. Seriously, if I had it my way, I would be curled up on the couch with all of those things... everyday.
I live in Texas where I spend my free time writing and reading. My favorite authors include Mindy Kaling & Jonathan Safran Foer. I'm a comedy geek and love all things "funny". Women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are definitely the biggest inspirations for my writing, though I think my work tends to skew a bit smuttier than theirs.
