Being a huge fan of the Alabama Summer Series, I was ecstatic to have the opportunity to review Sweet Addiction. This one has been on my TBR list for quite a while now and I couldn't wait to dive in. And can we talk about that cover for a minute? Gorgeous! It looks fun, flirty, and [I have no shame] kind of yummy. I had high hopes that this book would prove to be all those things as well.
Following the awkward attendance of her cheating ex-boyfriend's wedding, Dylan is ready to partake in some "slutty wedding sex" and gets up close and personal with Reese, who she meets through her friend Juls' boyfriend. As their encounters continue past the reception, Dylan is convinced that she wants to keep things "monogamously casual" with Reese, who doesn't do serious relationships anyway, but it's harder than she thinks. The sex between them is scorching hot, their connection is undeniable.
Dylan and Reese, along with their friends, are a dirty, dirty bunch and are so. Much. Fun. The sexual tension, teasing words, and dirty mouths you'll find in this book are something else. Grab a fan and a cool drink before starting this one, ladies! Some of these scenes are HOT! One thing's for sure, this author knows how to write a smoking hot book boyfriend. Holy crap. Each leading man is better than the last. After starting off with the Alabama Summer boys, I wouldn't have thought any others could compare, but REESE? Reese gives them a run for their money. Boy, does he ever.
As for Dylan, she's a great heroine. A little naive where Reese and her feelings are concerned, but a really tough chick. She's witty, fun, and never hesitates to tell someone off when they deserve it. And the moment when she finally comes to terms with how strong her feelings towards Reese are, well it was heartbreakingly lovely, and I went all in right along with her.
As always, this author writes characters that are authentic and well-developed. These are characters you'll want to be friends with, ones that will work their way into your heart and you'll be sure to miss when you've turned the last page.
This book was fantastic. Daniels has become one of my absolute favorite authors and the stories she writes-- not to mention the guys-- make such an impact on me as a reader. I will not soon forget any of her characters, and the ones in Sweet Addiction are no exception. And what a fitting title. I was attached to this book from the moment I picked it up and didn't stop until I devoured every word. I laughed, I cried, and then I laughed some more. The dialogue was engaging, witty, and heartfelt. The characters were captivating, and the ending turned me into a big ball of crying mush. The only thing making me glad to be finished is knowing that I can now continue on with the series. Grab this book as soon as you can-- grab every one of this author's books.
Um. Why in the world did I take so long to read this? It has been on my kindle for some time. I devoured this book. It was sweet, sexy, funny, and oh so romantic. Just when I thought I couldn’t love J. Daniels anymore. I was wrong. She has easily become one of my all time favorites!
Cake and sweet treats, extraordinaire and business owner, Dylan Sparks attends a wedding of her ex boyfriend and is determined to have a wedding hook up with one of the attendees. Sounds messy right? Well it’s not. That’s because Dylan doesn’t want any rules or expectations. Meet hot guy. Get laid. Leave feeling satisfied. She literally falls in the lap of the most beautiful man she has ever seen, successful accountant, Reese Carroll. You feel the energy between them the moment they meet. They also have something in common. Or should I say want something in common? A casual hook up. What they didn’t expect was the connection they shared during that moment. It shocks them both. But Reese is a love and leave 'em kind of guy. And that is what Dylan wants. Or so they think.
Reese cannot stop thinking about Dylan. So he sends the most unique yet romantic package to let Dylan knows he’s interested. While Dylan insists they are nothing but casual, she cannot deny there is something more to be explored. They try the casual thing and decide to become “monogamously casual”. Yes. Those are their words! Eventually, being casual is not enough. They find themselves wanting more and falling deeper and that is when things really shift.
Can we please talk about the chemistry between Dylan and Reese? I had to fan myself a few times. But it goes beyond the sexy times. These two are made for each other. Dylan is flirty, fierce, and so much fun! Reese is devastatingly handsome, romantic, and I loved him from the moment I started. Their banter made this story stand out and put it in a category of it’s own. These two are passionate and their love for each other knows no boundaries. They love with such a strong and deep desire. Their journey to love isn't easy. Both are forced to take down their walls or risk losing each other.
This was so much more than your average story where a casual hook up turns into love. The author has true talent in crafting her characters in such a way that you live the story as you read. You become embedded within the pages. The characters become your friends and you want nothing more than to get lost within their story. Sweet Addiction was no different. The other characters, Juls, Joey, Ian, and Billy were also such a treat and a wonderful addition to this story.
Sweet Addiction was everything I needed in a romance. I laughed out loud (several times!). I swooned. I LOVED. I was absolutely invested in this story from the very first page until I swiped my kindle and hit the end. I watched two people fall irrevocably and effortlessly in love. I fell in love as they did. Dylan and Reese were never to fall in love. Those were the rules. But that’s the thing about the heart. It only follows the path to where it belongs. The heart doesn’t see rules. It breaks them. This was such a fantastic read and I am so looking forward to more Dylan and Reese!

So hot on the heels of finishing Where We Belong by J. Daniel I start Sweet Addiction book one in her Sweet Addiction Series. Having enjoyed her Alabama Summer series, there was a very high percentage that I was going to like this book and of course I wasn’t proven wrong.
Sweet Addiction is Dylan Sparks and Reese Carroll’s story. When these two hook up at wedding Dylan thinks it just a one-time thing. However, Reese has different ideas he wants more than just one night. Dylan soon discovers that Reese is far too irresistible to turn down.
“We're not a couple. We're monogamously casual”
I enjoyed the storyline was sweet, romantic, sexy and maybe a little frustrating as there were a few times that I wanted to shake some sense into Dylan. Don’t get me wrong, I like Dylan she was a sassy, feisty character. But I will say a little more communication and a little more being honest with what she wanted wouldn’t have gone amiss. But hey, where is a story without a little bit of drama and angst and miscommunication. And Resse well, there wasn’t much not to like he was sexy, romantic, a dirty talker with some alpha qualities about him. I loved the sexual chemistry between theses two, but also the tender moments.
“I’m not only weak when it comes to sex around this man. He is slowly infiltrating every part of my soul”
“You make me want different thinks, things I’ve never wanted before”
Overall, I loved Sweet Addiction was an entertaining romantic read with some hot sexy times that left me grinning at the end. It had some great secondary characters that added to the story such as Dylan’s best friends Joey and Juls. I just adored their friendship; it was so funny and genuine.
If you haven’t, read the series that I would suggest you one click today, and meet some more great characters created by the very talented and lovely J. Daniels. I’m looking to reading book two, which is sitting on my Kindle very soon.
J. Daniels is the NY Times and USA Today Bestselling author of the Sweet Addiction series and the Alabama Summer series.

I have to say this one has been sitting on my Kindle since it was first released back in 2013. I’m a little ashamed that I didn’t get to read it sooner as. I fell in love with Tracey Garvis-Graves after reading On the Island which is now one of my all time favorite books. So after reading an arc of Tracey’s latest book Heart –shaped –Hack (Loved it) I just had to go back and read the other books of hers that are just sitting on my Kindle.
I have to say I’m quite cross with myself that it took me so long because I loved Covet was a beautiful, moving and thought-provoking read. Once I started, I became absorbed it the story, and I didn’t want to put it down. I loved all the characters, and I want to find fault with them, but I couldn’t.
"Maybe love is like a pendulum. It swings back and forth, slowly, steadily, and sometimes you don’t know where it will come to rest.
I’m sure that many married couples could relate to the situation that Claire and Chris go through. Marriage is hard work, Sometimes life gets tough, you can forget the little things, and it’s the little things that mean the most. I think it ended the way it should have, and it was right for all the characters.
With Covet Tracey did an amazing job with her beautiful writing to tell a story about real life; and the struggles of married life, that wasn’t embellished for the sake of it. I will say that if I had read the book when it first came out, I would worried about one character and would have needed to know what was going to happen to him as I have so many questions. But as Cherish (Covet, #1.5) is sitting on my Kindle I'm going to read it next and hopefully going to have my question answered.

The attraction between them is instant. Electric. Soon they’re spending every stolen minute together. Talk about the perfect summer fling…

They don’t count on running into each other at college. Now Lucy must keep up the pretense of being a rich girl—and it’s exhausting. She knows she’s falling in love with Gabe and she’s scared he feels the same. Will he still care about her when he discovers the truth?
GIVEAWAY:a Rafflecopter giveaway
What would be the harm in pretending you're someone else for a while? Especially if that someone else is rich and is vacationing in an amazing house for the summer? Nothing is wrong with it at all. Unless...
Gabe is the rich kid forced to spend the summer vacationing with his family. Lucy is the sexy girl next door that Gabe is obsessed with watching her strut her stuff swimming and lounging by the pool all day.
He finally gets up the nerve to go over and talk to her. They had an awful start to their summer fling, how does one really fall asleep mid make-out session anyways, Gabe? But I guess Gabe was hot enough, and Lucy was bored enough to give him another shot.
All was fun in the summer sun until the two go back to school and unexpectedly see each other. That's when Lucy runs in the opposite direction. Her lies are about to catch up with her and she's going to need to come clean if their feelings towards each other have any shot at true love.
I loved how Gabe was so straight forward, "I'm not the sensitive man who'll value your virginity and offer up my love in exchange for it." I thought it was cool that he didn't bullshit and sweet talk his way just to get sex. I was however, secretly hoping Lucy wouldn't give it up to him.
I liked how Gabe would assure Lucy that she didn't need to diet. On the other hand though, if she wants to have a salad, let her have a damn salad! Either way, it was nice that her not only showed her, but told her how much he loved her body, building her self-esteem about her body image in her mind. It did get a little tiring listening to her obsess over her weight though, it went on a little too long for my liking.
There was a mixture of funny AND hot in the book.
"Straddle my face."
"Yeah. Ride my face, Lucy. Come on."
Being that she was very inexperienced, I found her reply hilarious and likely a very accurate response.
I loved Gabe and Lucy together. Fantastic chemistry, hot love, and the ability to forgive and grab their love by the horns and go full force ahead. No matter what scary things may come along in their lives, these two have the winning formula to make it through anything.
In the Dark is another great NA book from Monica. Now we just have to wait for the story of the last lone man standing, Tristan.
Meet the crew!

Title: Where We Belong
Series: Alabama Summer #4
Author: J Daniels
Release Date: August 21, 2015
From NY Times and USA Today bestselling author, J. Daniels, an Alabama Summer series novella.
Ben and Mia Kelly can’t seem to catch a break.
Grueling night shift and opposing schedules have left the passionate couple geared up and ready for some much needed alone time. There’s only one thing standing in their way.
With two curious boys who have mastered the art of cock-blocking roaming the house, Ben and Mia, sexually frustrated beyond reason, quickly resort to surprise sexcapades and naughty little trysts whenever and however they can get them.
Who said anything about keeping things legal?
Assume the position. Things are about to heat up in the south.
Warning: This book is recommended for readers over the age of 18 due to strong language and explicit sexual content.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Benjamin Kelly. I thought he stole my heart in the first book. But after this novella? He owns it.
“My mind loves Ben. My heart loves Ben. My body loves Ben. He’s the warmth in my blood. The roar of my pulse.”
Now that Ben and Mia have two beautiful boys, they barely have time for each other. And let’s not forget Ben’s grueling work schedule .These two are suffering from Ben and Mia time. We are given a glimpse into the lives of Ben and Mia as not only husband and wife, but mommy and daddy. So much is packed in this novella. Typically I shy away from novellas as they tend to leave me less than satisfied. Not this one! Where We Belong had me glued to my kindle from the beginning to the very last page. Just when I thought I could not love Ben Kelly any more than I do, J. Daniels proved me wrong!
“We choose to believe what we want to believe. I choose Ben. He is my truth.”
As I mentioned, this novella not only further solidified my love for Ben and Mia, but it also reminded me why this series stays so close to my heart. The author clearly puts her heart into the writing and in her characters in that you can’t help but cheer for every single one of them through their life obstacles. You fall in love when they do. And when their hearts break? A part of yours does too. Ben and Mia are such beautiful and strong individuals. Their love for each other and their family and friends no boundaries. Their love conquers, it overcomes. You feel their sense of longing, passion, and deep admiration for each other.
“Just like everything else with Mia. Since the beginning, what I feel for her goes deeper than marrow.”
Can we talk about the sexy times? Ben and Mia do not disappoint in this one, as a married couple. Am I the only one who had googly eyes for Ben every time he called Mia “my wife”?! I sighed. I swooned. Ben Kelly. You are simply EVERYTHING. My heart beats for that man. He loves with such intensity and devotion. He loves with conviction. Ben Kelly loves HARD. And Mia? Her heart only knows Ben.
“Heart for heart. Soul for soul. I am his, and he is mine, in this life and the next.”
I absolutely loved catching up with Ben, Mia, Sir Nolan, and Chase and the rest of the gang in this novella. It was everything my heart needed. J. Daniels is brilliant in not only her execution of the story but also in that she allows the reader to become immersed in the lives of her characters. Novella. Novel. Doesn’t matter. I am a Bama Boys girl for life. If you love this series, then this novella is the perfect thing to hold us over until the next Bama Boy falls in love.
This review will probably be short and sweet-- extra sweet, because I have a feeling I'll be gushing all over this author, this novella, these characters, and their stories. I knew I loved the Alabama Summer series, and all the guys (and girls, but especially the guys) involved, but I don't think I realized just how much I missed these characters! And BEN! *swoon* Ben Kelly is a dreamboat. As I read the series, I found myself quite obsessed with Reed (and for good reason!) and, while I still love him with everything that I am, I'm ashamed at myself for letting Officer Kelly hang out on the back burner for so long. Ben and Mia's story was a beautiful one, full of sugary sweet moments that left readers satisfied and hopeful of a great future for these characters. Obviously as the series continued, we were able to get updates along the way about Ben and Mia-- and we can't forget Sir Nolan, of course!-- and their family has been growing and thriving. Unfortunately Ben's difficult job and life with two kids has left Mia and Ben wanting in the bedroom department. This novella is filled with them trying to find creative ways to rekindle their romance while balancing their family obligations. But this story is really so much more than that.
I can't even begin to express how thrilled I was to revisit all of these characters (everyone makes an appearance) and jump back into this world. I had an absolute blast reading this book and I couldn't put it down even for a second. It packs the punch of a full length novel, while being a pleasantly fast-paced page turner. I'll be honest and say that I generally don't bother with novellas inside a series. I can read a series, I can read a serial series, but when you throw in a random novella, I often find it unnecessary to read. Call me crazy, it's just my preference. But there is so much packed into this little story that, if you're a fan of this series, you would be insane not to pick it up! Trust me, it's perfection. There are tear inducing moments with Ben, Mia, and Nolan that will pull at your heartstrings until you just can't take it anymore. Their special moments together killed me. I cried like a baby and loved every minute of it. There are also some interesting developments where CJ and Riley are concerned that will make you that much more excited to to dive into their story.
I honestly cannot give this book, this series, or this author enough praise. The writing flows flawlessly, the characters are well-developed and authentic, and the romance is achingly sweet and oh, so hot. The sexual tension in this novella, in particular, was through the roof. If you haven't had the pleasure of getting into this series yet, what in the world are you waiting for? It's fantastic. If you're already a fan, then this installment is a must read. Run out and get it the moment you can, you won't regret it.

No girl in her right mind is going so say no to have a little more of that hot sexy policeman Ben Kelly on her Kindle. I wouldn’t, and I’m glad I didn’t he is just lush. In Where We Belong J Daniels gives us a little more of what we want a chance to catch up on this perfect couple Mia and Ben Kelly and their very cute kids Nolan and Chase.
I love that J Daniels shows us yet again much Ben and Mia mean to each other. Life is not easy when you have two young children at home. But I loved seeing their strong connection, and their hot sexy times together. Also witnessing their sincere and tender moments, and the way they support each other when faced with challenges.
“Benjamin fucking Kelly. My entire world”
“I can’t help it. You’re in my blood, Mia. You always were …..even before”
Where We Belong was a sweet, humorous and heartwarming read that strengthened my love for this couple. It also showed which was never going to be in doubt that Ben Kelly is a great father and husband who will do anything for his family. And that Mia is a sweet, sassy, selfless, loyal, a wonderful mother and wife.
“I love you” I breathe into his month. He drops his forehead against mine. “That’s all I need, Mia. All I need”
It was great catching up with the rest of the gang Tessa, Luke, Reed and Beth and getting a sneak peek at what’s going on in their world. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series What I Need CJ & Riley's story. If you’re a fan of this series, and Ben Kelly then you must 1-click today, as J Daniel’s with her effortless writing style does not disappoint.

The Complete Serial! Also includes two exclusive bonus epilogues!
When I saw that Ainsley Booth had added two exclusive bonus epilogues! To her Hate F*@k series. I was excited. Having read and loved parts One, Two and Three I knew needed to read them.
Well, what can I say the first epilogue was a hot sexy read and left fanning myself and thinking how Hailey is one lucky lady. And as for Cole I love him even more. Wow! These two have always been hot together inside and outside of the bedroom.
The second epilogue was just perfect. It was sweet romantic and exactly showed how much Cole and Hayley mean and feel about each other. Yes, the sex is hot between them but the emotional connection is intense too. Which is something else that I have always loved about Cole and Hailey’s relationship.
So glad that she added the two exclusive bonus epilogues as completes their story. I’m looking forward the rest of the rest of the series, can't wait to read Tag, Jason and Wilson’s stories the rest of the men from The Horus Group. And I sure Ainsley will give us a little more Cole and Hailey.
Ainsley Booth knows how to write good smut that leaves you fanning yourself and romance that makes you swoon. If you haven’t read this series, then I recommend that you one click today as I sure that Cole Parker will be your next book boyfriend

In the second installment of the Beachy Bride series, we follow the story of Katherine and Holst. A tale of shaking off the past, embracing the future, and finding true love.
*** I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ***
Katherine in Gold is the second in The Beachy Bride series by J.B. Hartnett. Not only was I excited when I saw it arrive on my Kindle having loved the first book I the series Bride in Bloom. But also intrigued by the warning author had added at the start the synopsis. I’m a big fan of the author, and I do love books with the hint of a possible wedding so I couldn’t wait to dive in!
“It all starts with the dress. The guy comes later”
Well, I wasn't disappointed I loved it. Katharine was independent and sassy, and heartbreak had left her with her walls up, vowing never to let any get close until Holst that is. Holst is all man alpha and sexy, and the one who makes her see things differently the man. I like Katherine and could totally understand because of her past, why she reluctantly let Holst get too close. Holst is a man who is going to make you swoon; he is so my kind of man.
“I would embrace the fact I was following my dreams, and ignoring everything else surrounding it”
“There was much more to Katharine, and each and every time I was in her presence, I felt a pull to learn more”
Katherine in Gold is beautifully written romance book about true love, trust, friendship, healing, moving on from the past and taking a chance. It was emotional, funny and intense at times with characters that you can’t help but love, as they pull you into the story. It’s a must read for all you romantics out there. J.B Hartnett is an amazing writer, who knows how to write a great romance story that make you feel with great characters.
“When someone gives you happiness, try to fill their world with beauty”
And one part did make me laugh, and I have to message Julia to let her know I have a brother called Devon!! ;-) If you have read the book and seen a photo of me on social media, then you will understand what I’m saying. Hahaha
Julie is a Southern California native, a fan of a really good story (preferably romance with a happily ever after), really good pie (preferably pumpkin) and copious amounts of coffee (preferably Folgers).
She has always enjoyed writing and at one time thought she could be a singer songwriter...the 'writer' part is the one that stuck.
Julie is obsessed with pi...the equation(and the food). She's allergic to cats and cantaloupe and hates mushrooms...so if you ever want to give her a gift, those are out for sure. She currently lives with her own romance hero husband and two boys in Melbourne, Australia.

RUSH is Book III in the City Lights Series, and each can be read as a standalone.
I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
My heart continues to beat over this story. WEEKS later as I write this review. This book simply gave me LIFE. From the moment I started until the very last page, Rush breathed air into my literary self that I never knew I needed. This book? It was EVERYTHING.
“Noah and I were like planets orbiting the same star: on similar trajectories, but only crossing paths once in a great while.”
Charlotte Conroy is a talented violinist that trained at Julliard. Music simply lives in her heart. When tragedy strikes, she is left broken. A shattered version for what she once was. Music has lost it’s meaning as her life has completely changed. Noah Lake is a renowned sport athlete, journalist, and photographer. He lives life on the edge at all times. This life style takes a turn for the worst and Noah is left angry, bitter, and in the dark. Circumstances cause Noah and Charlotte to cross paths. Charlotte becomes his caretaker. Little do they know that this unlikely pairing would be the spark to change everything in their lives.
“It’s amazing how you can feel so lonely without ever being alone.”
Noah is against Charlotte being his caretaker. He has scared off every single nurse and knows he can do it with her. But Charlotte needs this job. To survive. And she is determined to see this through. Noah’s words and actions hurt. But Charlotte has been through pain. What Noah throws at her is nothing compared to the heartache she deals with everyday. But she is no fool. Charlotte sees Noah. She recognizes his internal battles as she tries to battle her own. Noah doesn’t like that she sees through him. He wants nothing to do with her. Until he realizes that he must learn to live through the darkness rather than live within it. And he realizes that perhaps Charlotte is learning to do the same.
“Maybe. Maybe is gradations of darkness. The sweetest torture. Maybe is hope.”
My heart soared over this story. SOARED. You immediately become emotionally invested in Noah and Charlotte’s story. You feel their pain. You understand their grief. Without realizing it at first, Noah and Charlotte connect as they both are mourning a life they have lost. They gradually find themselves slowly falling. It’s truly the most beautiful love story. I won’t give details, but this is seriously the epitome of true romance. I cried. I laughed. I lived. I left my heart with Noah and Charlotte.
“How do you do that?” he breathed. “How do you know what to do and say so that I feel...?”
“So that you feel what?”
“Whole. You make me feel like I have a shot at something more than this misery.”
Let’s talk about the writing. It is brilliant, captivating, and if love could speak, it would echo the words of this book. The love in this story knows NO boundaries. Their love prevails. Overcomes. Their love is powerful, overwhelming. Their love triumphs. It endures. Their love simply shatters the norm. How can two broken people find their wholeness in the other? Noah and Charlotte are unlike any hero and heroine I have ever read. I’m in awe of their strength. Amazed in the resilience of their spirits. They both have faced adversity on a level that many people could never even imagine. This is not your average broken people love story. It goes so much deeper. You are in the darkness with both characters and you will FEEL when their light comes. When their souls awake. You as the reader are fully immersed in the lives of the characters and every obstacle they must overcome.
“Noah’s kiss seeped into my cracks, filled all my broken places. I felt it in the marrow of my bones.”
Rush is a beautiful, heartfelt, thought provoking romance about love, loss, and learning to LIVE. To live beyond existing. It was real. While their love was never easy, their story is inspirational. Emotions are high in this book. It MOVED me. The author breathes life into her characters and I enjoyed every moment. Rush attests to love and all it encompasses. Love always wins.
“You steal my breath away, Noah, and what you’re feeling is me, trying to catch it back, but I never can. Not when you’re this close to me.”
*I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.*
S.J. Pajonas is an author who consistently writes books that I really like. She’s got awesome heroines, great heroes, and there’s usually some sort of Asian flair to her books. And this book was definitely no exception, since the majority of it was actually set in Tokyo, and there were characters to root for.
The heroine of this book was Isa. Since the story was told in her point of view, I definitely felt like we got to know her the best. Isa was a planner of pretty much everything. If she didn’t plan at least the basics of an evening, an outing, a part of her life, she would have a panic attack. I found her struggle with this very sad, and I just wanted her to be okay. Of course, it helped that Isa was a genuinely likable main character. She was strong in emergencies, and very loyal to her friends and family. She’s right up there with Laura and Sanaa in terms of how much I liked her.
Side characters are very important. They flesh out the story, give conflict, or just generally make things happen. This story had two very wonderful side characters, in the form of Halley and Masa. Halley was Isa’s best friend. At first, I wasn’t sure what to think of her, since she got all the spotlight because she was going to be running in the Olympics. People always asked Isa about Halley instead of Isa herself, so I was afraid that Halley would let that go to her head. But she didn’t. In fact, she acknowledged that Isa came in second far too often, and what she did for Isa? I really loved that. As for Masa, I thought he was great for Isa. Sure, he annoyed me with his hot-and-cold behavior, but I definitely got over that. It helped that the two were pretty much best friends when the story opened, so they already had the ability to have honest conversations. The thing was, Isa had a huge crush on Masa. I’m not usually a fan of unrequited love, but S.J. really made it work in this story. It was nice to read about a really sweet and caring guy. Of course, it helped that when things got tough, he didn’t let Isa run away, which she often tried to do. This means that the two of them never had any overly long misunderstandings, and always eventually talked everything out. I loved their relationship. Plus, Masa was a poet, and I loved his haikus.
The plot of this book kept me riveted. I literally read this book in one sitting, because I just needed to know what would happen next. The novel started out at Michigan State University, where Isa was helping Halley train for the upcoming Olympics in Tokyo. Isa was also dealing with her unrequited love for Masa, which she was too scared to reveal because she’d had previous rejections from crushes in the past. Then, it followed Isa to Tokyo, where she had to take over her family’s ryokan in place of her mother, who had a broken arm and leg due to an accident. From there, things took off, and you got to see Masa and Isa grow even closer together, Isa deal with the pressures of her family’s expectation, and how Halley and Isa’s friendship was just so supportive. What can I say? I thought the whole thing was really well-done!!!
In the end, I definitely recommend this book to anyone who’s even slightly intrigued by this blurb. Isa was such an endearing but strong heroine, and I loved Masa and Halley for being there for her, and just being awesome characters in their own right. In short, S.J. Pajonas has done it again!
