After the cliffy I was left with at the end of part 3, I couldn’t wait to read the conclusion to Vaughn and Keely’s adventure. It picks up a few days after the ‘incident’ so I felt it was played down somewhat but Keely was out to get answers, as was Vaughn but he was desperate for Keely’s forgiveness first.
This instalment had a lot going on as everything had to be uncovered and the bad guy needed unmasked. As far as the storyline went, I did lose interest somewhat. I didn’t feel this edition held the suspense as the previous ones and when everything was out in the open, it felt a little anti-climatic.
What I did like was Keely, Vaughn and the personal journey they went on. Keely came into her own, she was no longer shy and hesitant to take on the role of CEO, she rolled her sleeves up and took control of the empire that was rightfully hers. Vaughn realised it was time to fight for Keely and what she meant to him. She wouldn’t hurt him like he had been in the past.
My favourite part about this book was the office sex scene, it certainly spiced up the storyline that wasn’t doing it for me. Vaughn was at his best, dominating Keely and claiming her completely. I think the writing has improved with each part with this one being my favourite. And the phrase “come my brains out” was only used once so that’s always a bonus ;-)
If you have followed Vaughn from the beginning then I have no doubt you will be left extremely satisfied. This isn’t my favourite novella series I have read but I think Vaughn’s antics will overshadow everything else and you won’t be disappointed.
