"Everything about my husband by mistake was turning into the best thing that ever happened to me."
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.*
There was very little drama in this instalment and that's probably why my little anxious heart enjoyed it. The plot moved forward in terms of Valerie and Wes' feelings for each other, they admitted they both wanted to see if the relationship could work and Val inwardly admitted she wanted to call off the divorce, so now she just needs to tell Wes.
Val got a job offer she couldn't refuse, but it also meant she would not be cutting the sleazeball Max out of her life any time soon. Max is turning into quite the villain for me, I have to try hard not to audibly boo when he appears. Wes needs to take that guy down and soon!
The Wild Side was really sweet, I'm back on Wes' team and loving his sweet, tender and thoughtful side. He wears his heart on his sleeve and I loved the fact he asked Valerie to claim him as her own rather than the other way about that we read so often, especially during the smexy times, that was a womb clenching moment for sure.
Mel and John Boy popped up, and even though it was brief I was reminded why I love these characters. I do hope they visit again. Maybe for vow renewals or something ;-)
I like being in Val's head, I could tell she was slowly getting her mojo back and her confident, sassy personality is taking prominence over her insecure side. I like the author's ability to write a sweet, funny romance with some hot moments thrown in just when we need it. This was a quick enjoyable read and left me wanting the next part now!
Val's life seems to be falling into place, she has a new job, good clients and of course a hot husband so I'm just crossing my fingers that Max doesn't mess it up!
I can't wait to see what the next part holds.
