I’m not usually a lover of werewolf books, but this one totally changed all that. From the synopsis, I didn’t really know what to expect, but I certainly didn’t expect what I got. This book is a wonderful romance, and also a mystery about Gabby’s powers and what they do. This is a series, but Clay and Gabby’s story seems to be complete, because the next book is about someone else, and in their point of view. However, not all of our questions were answered, so I will unquestionably be back for more.
I loved a lot about this book, but my favorite part of it was undoubtedly the romance. It was really subtle, and in a great way. Gabby’s feelings changed so gradually that it was almost unnoticeable, but I thought it was perfect. Gabby didn’t want to be tied down, and she wanted to have a choice, and Clay was the perfect guy for her. He was so sweet and thoughtful, and the fact that he didn’t talk was just…wow. I thought that was really powerful, especially when we found out why. It was wonderful.
I also loved Rachel. She was a great best friend to Gabby. I loved how she took all of the weird things that happened around Gabby in stride, and she never got jealous of her. Of course, she does have her own romance, which could definitely make a difference. Either way, it’s great to see a best friend who’s there for the main character, despite not knowing everything about what’s going on.
The actual plot of this book was about two different things. It was about Gabby and Clay’s romance, but it was also about Gabby’s powers. The story was really well-paced, and it was hard for me to put down. I flew through it in a matter of hours, so it was really interesting.
Overall, this book was pretty incredible. Clay and Gabby were wonderful together, and I loved their slow-building romance. It honestly has become one of my favorite love stories, and I’d have to say that that was my favorite part of the book. The mystery aspect was pretty great, and by the end of this book, we don’t have all of the answers about Gabby’s powers, and if I had to pick a downfall of this story, that would be it. Like I said before though, I’ll be back for more in this series. This world is really interesting, and I can’t wait to see what happens next, since there are more answers to get. I highly recommend this book whether or not you love werewolves. If you love a great romance with solid characters, you should really love this one.
