*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review
Before I started reading this second volume, I didn't have much of a connection with the characters or the story. The first volume included a lot of background story as well as introduced us to the characters. This time around we get more fro,m their connection as well as a new complication.
This volume starts off right where the first ended. Chloe and Max are quickly developing feelings for one another, no matter how hard they are trying not to. I think lines are starting to get blurred and what was to be casual is starting to turn into something more. Chloe, of course, wants nothing more than what they have at the moment, but knows that if she's not careful she'll end up falling for him.
I did connect more to the characters in this one. I love their banter as well as their chemistry. For such a small volume, it felt like it was mostly filled with HOT scenes than anything else.
There are also some side characters I'm not too sure about. Gabe is obviously in love with Chloe, so I want to see if he's going to do anything to get in between Chloe and Max. There's also Max's dad who I already detest and Chloe's boss who know presents a new obstacle for these two.
Overall, I enjoyed this installment and will definitely be reading the third volume to see what happens next and if Chloe and Max will be able to get past what's coming their way.
