“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage” ~ Lao Tzu
Four Years Later is the fourth book in the One Week Girlfriend Series and like me, I believe a lot of readers were happy when Monica Murphy announced that Owen Maguire was getting his own book. I remember thinking he was a great kid, considering his good for nothing mother.
Well things have changed since the last time we saw Owen, he was definitely all grown up. Life consists of drinking, partying and girls. Owen loves his weed just as much as he loves using the f word; this lifestyle is not doing him, his football or his grades any favours. Add the fact Fable and Drew have moved away, and his good for nothing mother is back on the scene and it means that life is not going great for Owen.
He doesn’t want a tutor, but that is what Fable insists that he needs if he is going to improve his grades and get back on the football team. But when he meets his tutor, he starts to think that it may not be so bad after all. Chelsea is intelligent, sweet and shy. All she wants to do is work and study, she not interested in boys, that is until she meets Owen.
“She looks completely untouchable, like no girl. I’ve ever been interested in before…..She’s sweet. All clean wholesome innocence”
“Boys don’t affect me. I don’t care what he thinks, what he wants. So why is he making me feel all shaky and uneasy”
I won’t say any more about the storyline as I don’t like giving spoilers, but I really enjoyed Owen’s story. My heart when out to him at times as he was struggling, and not making great choices. The same can be said for Chelsea as she had her own struggles and insecurities going on.
Owen and Chelsea are a great fit, loved them together, loved them individually; love their relationship, such a great, sweet couple who needed each other. Loved watching their relationship grow and I was rooting for Owen to get the HEA that he deserves.
“I don't want to be with anyone else. I just want to be with her. She belongs with me and I need to prove that I'm worthy of her. That I love her. Because I do. "
“You make me feel beautiful,” I admit, because it’s true. No one has ever treated me like Owen has. I feel safe with him. I trust him. He makes me laugh. He makes me want. I think I’m falling in love with him.”
I was anxious whilst reading some of it as I was expecting some big drama to happen, and I’m so pleased that what drama there was wasn’t huge, as it wasn’t needed. I like the way it all worked out and I loved the ending. However, I’m sorry Monica, but a year is not enough for me, LOL I needed to see more into Owen and Chelsea's future. So I thought maybe a novella titled oh.. I don’t know… Owen and Chelsea forever! ;)
“We’re not perfect, but we’re perfect for each other. It’s all or nothing with Owen and me-and nothing is too hard for us to bear. So I want it all. Everything. With Owen.”
Overall, I really enjoyed Four Years Later. It was a sweet, romantic read that, for the most part, I read with a big grin on my face. As Monica said with all his faults, Owen is sweet and sexy, and Chelsea is the perfect fit for him. It was great catching up with Fable and Drew. Loved the relationship they have with Owen, and how much they support him. I love Monica’s writing style, always engaging from the start. I loved the quotes at the start of each chapter, and I did look up Tyler Knott Gregson-loved his work.

They will lose themselves.” ~ Tyler Knott Gregson
I have really enjoyed this series, and if you haven’t read any of the books then you should 1-click today. I’m not going to lie to you I have spent the afternoon thinking of possible book titles starting with Five!
